We are in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Vince McMahon and Mr. Perfect are on commentary. Vince says we have a new champ and Perfect says he's not the guy who told you so, but he told you so. He says Flair is the real world champ and the WWF champ. Perfect says he remains perfect.

The New Foundation (Jim Neidhart & Owen Hart) vs. Bob Avery & Brad Avery

Owen shoulders over one of the jobbers and hits a hiptoss. Owen gets his eye raked. Owen moonsaults off the top and hits a suplex then a gutwrench suplex. Owen knee drops the jobber and bangs his head off of Neidhart's foot.

The jobber takes a double clothesline then a big slam. The Beverly Brothers and The Genius do an inset promo. Genius does a power. Jim holds the jobber for a top rope dropkick from Owen. Owen hits a dropkick then Jim clubs on the jobber. Jim slams the jobber then rocket launches Owen onto him for the win.

Thoughts: It went a little longer than it needed to and the jobbers didn't get much in other than an eye rake. Owen did some flying as usual.

Royal Rumble Report

The Rumble already happened, so I'm surprised they are doing this segment. Mean Gene shills the new merchandise catalogue with lots of Macho Man merchandise.

Gene says we have a new champ in Ric Flair and a new Intercontinental champ in Roddy Piper. Gene says Flair will defend his title at Mania and says there's speculation on who his challenger will be. Gene says we will hear from some top contenders later.

Ric Flair and Mr. Perfect do a promo. Perfect says he perfectly predicted that Flair would win the title. Flair says he won against all odds. Flair said 30 of the greatest of all-time were in The Rumble and he walked away with the title. He said he went in 3rd, wrestled 54 minutes and beat them all. Flair said to be the man you gotta beat the man and now whether you like it or not, you got to learn to love it. He says it's the greatest thing going today.

Rick Martel vs. Mickey Jay

Yep, that's future WCW ref Mickey Jay.

Jay side headlocks Rick. Rick leapfrogs then dropkicks him. Rick side headlocks him. Jay drops down, Rick cartwheels over him and dropkicks him. Rick yells at the crowd. Rick dropkicks Jay over and does jumping jacks.

Rick holds onto the ropes to avoid a dropkick. Rick backbreakers Jay then submits him with a crab.

Thoughts: Rick was a bit more animated here than usual. Jay had no chance but at least this was a teeny tiny bit competitive.

They shill the WBF Magazine and the upcoming WBF personal Fitness Weekend.

WWF Event Center

Sean shills the 2/29/92 Boston Garden show with Piper and Hulk vs Taker and Flair. The Natural Disasters and Jimmy Hart do a promo. Quake says Sarge and Duggan have been thrown to the lions and that spells pain. Quake says they don't have a chance. Typhoon makes fun of Sarge and Duggan. He says they should pray the day doesn't come where they grab and smash them.

Sgt. Slaughter and Jim Duggan do a promo. Sarge sings and calls The Disasters scum and slime. Sarge says it won't be pretty as they are rough and tough. Sarge says they may throw them around the arena and see what they are made of. 

Bret "The Hitman" Hart vs Jack Owens

Jack got the bleached blonde hair and some definitely 90's tights. Bret shoulders Jack over then slams him. Bret legdrops him then stomps him in the gut. Bret Hart does an inset promo. He says he's feeling great and 100%. He congratulates Piper on winning the IC title. He guarantees Mountie hasn't heard the last of him.

Bret stomps on Jack then euros him. Bret elbow drops him and backbreakers him. Bret 2nd rope elbow drops Jack. Bret drops Jack with a punch. Bret then sharpshooters him for the win.

Thoughts: It was a quick squash as expected here. I would have liked to have seen more of Jack though.

WWF Event Center

Sean shills the 2/29/92 Boston Garden show. Sean says Dibiase vs El Matador will have no time limit. Flair, Taker and their managers do a promo. Flair says Piper wants a shot at the title and the big time. Flair says Piper won the IC Title but it makes him 2nd best as Flair is the new WWF champ. Flair says Hulk gets Taker. Taker asks how much more can Hulk lose. Taker says the title meant to world to Hulk and now he comes for his soul.

Hulk Hogan and Roddy Piper do a promo. Hulk says it'll be  a bad day for the heels. Hulk says Piper had a good day at The Rumble and says he'd be champ if he didn't have a match earlier in the day. Hulk says he wants to steal some of Piper's energy. Piper says Hulk hit hard in The Rumble. Piper says if the heels want to fight, come face this dream team.

"The Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase vs D.D. Russell

Ted knees DD in the gut and Vince wants to know what DD stands for. DD's head is banged off the buckles and Vince says DD needs the Personal Fitness Expo. Ted back elbows DD then stomps him. Sherri talks to the camera outside. Ted elbow drops DD and Sherri kisses Ted.

Ted lariats DD then hits a powerslam. Ted then puts DD to sleep with the million dollar dream.

Thoughts: It was all squash here. It's not good when the commentators are even ripping the jobbers. Ted looked good as usual and had a compact squash.

Ted puts money in DD's mouth after.

Mean Gene Okerlund talks the Top 5 Contenders for the WWF Title. He says one of them will challenge Flair for the title at Mania.

Hulk Hogan says he won't cry about getting the short end of the stick at The Rumble. He says it's time for Tunney to decide who the #1 contender is. Hulk says Flair has been running from him and said Tunney saw the fear of God in Flair's eyes when he saw Hulk. Hulk said he proved the power of Hulkamania was unsurpassed in The Rumble. He says the WWF is red and yellow and Hulk Hogan. Hulk asks what will Ric do when he makes him go to school.

Paul Bearer and The Undertaker do a promo. Paul says his man was never beaten for the title.

Taker tells Tunney to make him the #1 contender or he will eliminate all the contenders then come for Tunney. He says rest in peace.

Roddy Piper calls Tunney "Slim Jim" and says he's been looking good. Piper says he's been a contender all his life. He says it's in him. He says he scares Flair and knows how he runs, hides and how his nose grows. He says he didn't call Tunney fatso and says to give him one shot.

Macho Man says it's up to Tunney to pick the #1 contender. Macho says not to forget the name and says it's The Madness. He says he wants to beat Flair and go back to where he once was. He says he has just as much of a right to be #1 as anyone.

Sid Justice says Flair became champ with a little luck. He says the man that stands next in line is the #1 contender. Sid said he threw Hulk out at The Rumble and stayed with Flair until the end. He says Flair doesn't have a chance in hell against him. He says do unto the man as the man would do unto you...but do it first.

Gene says the decision rests on Tunney's shoulders and says Tunney will pick a wrestler next week. Gene says you can influence the decision by casting your vote on Prime Time Wrestling.

Thoughts: I'd say Macho has the weakest case of them all and shouldn't be considered. He beat Jake but he was away for months otherwise. Piper just won the IC Title, and he should defend that against Mountie or Hart then make his case for a shot after. Sid was the runner up in the Rumble and got pulled out by Hulk, who was out already, so he got screwed but he didn't do much else otherwise of note. Hulk shouldn't have been stripped of the title anyway after beating Taker so he should be in the mix, but Sid did throw him out at The Rumble. Taker doesn't have much of a case , but I'd put him above Macho as at least he beat Hulk at Survivor Series. I'm probably picking Hulk here as he was the champ, lost the title without losing and had a good showing in The Rumble.

The Repo Man vs Kevin Katlin

Perfect says he likes the way Repo sneaks around and says Repo loves his job. Repo punches Kevin down then bangs his head off the buckles. Repo throws out Kevin. Perfect complains about fans getting a vote on who could be champ instead of relying on win/loss records and rankings.

Repo lariats Kevin then legdrops him. Virgil does an inset promo. He says Repo's in the mood for taking and he's in the mood for giving him the whooping he deserves. Repo chokes Kevin on the ropes then drops him with a punch. Repo then does his leg lock to Kevin and taps him out.

Thoughts: It was the usual Repo squash with him creeping up on his opponent some and mostly sticking to the basics before winning.

Repo chokes Kevin with his rope after and swings him around. Perfect says it's one of the best things he has seen in a long time.

We get a video on Chris Chavis. He's at a fire. He says the shaman is a medicine man of great wisdom. He says he's on a quest for purification, courage and for honor. He says he's doing a healing ceremony that will take him deep within himself. He says he will know he's pure when the shaman brushes him with eagle feathers. He says he will soar like the eagle in the WWF. 

Sid Justice vs. Mike Casey

Sid is in all black here and says the man who laughs last, laughs loudest.

Sid boots Mike and hits a big punch. Sid chops him on the ropes then does an impressive one arm chokeslam with no help from the other arm. Sid running boots Mike out of the ring. Sid then gorilla presses Mike back into the ring. Sid then hits a whirlybird on Mike. Sid then powerbombs Mike for the win.

Thoughts: It was a good squash by Sid with him throwing Mike around and getting good reactions for it. Mike did good jobber work here for SId.

Vince asks Perfect about Sid challenging Flair for Mania and Perfect says any man who challenges Flair will be in the ride of their life.

WWF Event Center

Sean shills the 2/29/92 Boston Garden show. The Repo Man does a promo. He says him and The Big Boss Man are alike. He says he doesn't lie or steal and neither does Boss. He says he hopes Boss can make it to the ring as he was sneaking around his house and took his hubcaps. He says to make sure he makes it as he might repossess him.

The Big Boss Man says Repo takes stuff from others who need a chance and help. Boss says these people expect him to take care of people like Repo. He says Repo is a common thief and trash. He says Repo needs to face him to find out what law, order and justice is all about.

Vince and Perfect talk about next week's show which will have the debut of Tatanka/Chris Chavis. Sherri will be on The Funeral Parlor and we will get an announcement for the main event of Wrestlemania VIII.

Overall thoughts: There wasn't much here wrestling wise as usual as we just had the usual squashes. Storyline wise, we didn't get too many updates either except for an announcement on the WM8 main event. it wasn't a must see show but I was alright with it.  You don't need to see this one and wouldn't miss much if you did.
