AEW Dynamite 3/19/2025

They are in Omaha, NE. There's a major snowstorm and a lot of people missed the show. 

Dynasty International Championship Eliminator 4-Way - Mark Davis vs Ricochet vs Orange Cassidy vs Mike Bailey

OC and Mike screwed around to start. Mike took a hard apron edge powerbomb by Mark. Ricochet got on commentary during the match. Mark threw Ric out and Ric did a bunch of spins in the air before the landing. Mark took a triple boot to the chest. OC hit a suplex on Mark which I didn't like. Mike took a hard bump on his neck off a Ric lariat. They had a weird ending here with Mike doing a backslide on Mark and Ric using the ropes to get a pin as well. They then announces that Mike and Ric were essentially co-winners here.

Thoughts: This went long and there was the usual screwing around by OC early which hurt the match. It was a typical 4 way with lots of spots and fast paced action. I was glad Mike didn't lose as he shouldn't be losing so early in this run.

AEW TBS Title - Mercedes Mone (c) vs Billie Starkz

The build hasn't been good for this. If you don't watch ROH, you wouldn't know Starkz except for spilling drinks on Mone.

Mone slaps her off the handshake then dropkicks her. Mone forearm flurries her. Mone rubs BS' face into the mat and slaps her in the back of the head. Mone foot chokes BS then meteora's her.

BS kicks her off the ropes then tornado ddt's her off the bottom rope. BS topes her then 2nd rope swantons her. BS top rope swantons Mone. 

Mone backcrackers her for 2 then hits mounted forearms. We go to PiP break and return. Mone drops BS' chest on her (Mone's) knees. Mone hits forearms in the corner. Mone superplexes her. BS germans her.

Mone pulls BS into the buckles with her feet. BS knees her in the face and spin kicks her. Mone lariats her. BS rolls her up for 2 and dropkicks her. BS alabama slams her into the buckles. BS hits a nasty looking electric chair driver but Mone ropebreaks on the pin attempt.

BS misses a 2nd rope swanton onto the apron. Mone crucifixes her for 2 and then crossfaces her to win.

Thoughts: This go a ton of time and ran longer than it needed to. The electric chair driver looked awful with Mone's head getting planted hard into the mat. I thought that should have put out Mone. I thought it was just okay overall.

We see The Outrunners wishing the Omaha Mavericks luck and visiting them.

MJF is in the locker room. He says a lot of fans are betting on who will be the next AEW champ. MJF said he beat Will and Darby and beat Swerve in life. He says there's only one horse to bet your chips on and it's MJF. He says he's looking at the card The Hurt Syndicate gave him. He says he may need a clique of his own but the last time he trusted someone, he got burned bad. MJF says he will have an answer for MVP next week. He says the time to cry over spilled milk is over but the time to smile over popped champagne has just begun.

AEW Title - Street Fight - Jon Moxley (c) vs Cope

Cope jumps Mox from behind outside and bangs his head off the production truck. They fight inside of a truck. Cope hits him in the leg with a guitar. Cope then swings off a pole and kicks him in the truck. Mox sends Cope into a rollaway door.

They fight in the hall backstage. Mox hits Cope with the the briefcase. Cope bangs Mox's head off boxes. They finally get to ringside and Mox's head is banged off the timekeepers table. Mox is hit with a mic.

Cope hits Mox with a trash can then suplexes him on the floor. Cope running boots Mox outside. Mox sleepers Cope outside then sends him into the rail. Mox hits Cope with a kendo stick then chokes him with it. They go into the crowd. Mox is hit with a trash can.

They trade shots in the crowd. Cope hits Mox with the top of an LED board. They fight on the commentary table. Mox bites him there then death rider ddt's him on the commentary table. We go to PiP break and return.

Mox chairs Cope's back then chokes him with a chair rung. Cope throws a chair a Mox while Mox is up top. Cope top rope superplexes Mox. Prince Nana is watching in the back. Mox and Cope trade forearms. Cope hits running lariats then flapjacks Mox.  

Cope grabs the 2x4 with spikes on it. Mox then cutters Cope. Cope hits Mox in the gut with the spike 2x4 then the back. Cope hen suplexes Mox on it and the spikes get stuck in Mox's back. Wheeler Yuta then flying knees Cope and pulls the board out of Mox's back. Cope powerbombs Yuta through a table. Pac and Claudio then beat up on Cope. FTR come out to help. Cash topes Claudio then Dax ddt's Pac. Dax piledrivers Mox then lariats Pac over the top. Dax lariats Pac over the top, necks himself on the bottom rope and has a bad landing. Cope spears Mox through a table.

Marina Shafir comes out to hlep then Willow lariats Marina. Kip Sabian and Nick Wayne then attack Cope. Mox bulldog chokes Cope and Cope passes out. Mox wins.

Thoughts: The spike spot was wild. That may end up getting AEW in trouble as the advertisers and networks will not like that. It was an average brawl until the spikes came out, then it turned into a truly wild one and the interference starting happening. This one is a must see match due to the spike spot and ended up being much better than their PPV match.

FTR and Willow comfort Cope after. Cope goes to shake Dax's hand and Dax walks away.

Renee interviews Bandido. He says Revolution was the first show for his sister and mother. He says Jericho made his mother cry in front of him. He says he hopes Jericho shows up. Johnny TV comes in and says who cares?  JTV challenges him to a match and Bandido accepts for Sunday.

Will Ospreay vs AR Fox

This is a random one. They trade wristlocks. Will legsweeps him and handstands out of a cutter. AR does the same and they kip up together.

Will chops AR. AR legsweeps him on the apron. AR does a new spot where he rolls into and over the ropes into a double stomp on Will. It means nothing though as Will hit a stunner seconds later. Will plancha's AR. We go to PiP break and return. 

Will hits a kick on AR then AR enzugiri's him. AR kips down and enzugiri's him then Will hits a standing spanish fly for 2. AR hits a low cutter. AR walks up the buckle and hits a seated spanish fly for 2. AR misses a 450 then takes a hidden blade. Wil lthen wins.

Thoughts: I didn't like this at all. They didn't sell squat despite doing some cool moves. Will won as expected. 

Renee interviews Adam Page. He says he will win the Owen Hart Cup, win a title shot and become the next AEW champ.

Renee interviews Mercedes Mone. Mone has had 16 title defenses. Mone says Billie put up a fight and has heart but it takes more than that to beat her. She says whoever trained her knows nothing about wrestling. Money says there's no stopping the money train and she's off to 17-0. 

Megan Bayne vs Kris Statlander

Toni Storm is on commentary. I have no idea why this is the main and not Cope/Mox. Kris hits forearms on Meg then is forearmed on the ropes. Kris is lariated over the top. Kris moonsaults off the apron onto her.

Kris top rope dropkicks her. Kris corner lariats her then hits mounted punches. Kris low dropkicks her. Kris back elbows her off the 2nd rope.

Kris running knees her in the corner. Meg exploders her into the corner. Meg hits corner spears. Penelope Ford distracts Kris on the buckles and Kris is knocked off onto the apron. Meg backdrops her off the bottom rope.

We go to PiP break and return. Meg running sitout powerbombs her. Kris scissors kicks her. They sit down and slap each other. Ford trips Kris from the outside and is caught by the ref. kris kips down out of a lariat and superkicks Meg. Kris high kicks her then powerbombs her. Kris spinning michinoku drivers her for 2.

They german each other and Meg flying lariats her. Meg topes her then hits a falcon arrow for 2. Kris ddt's her over the 2nd rope then cannonballs her off the apron. Kris is thrown into Toni, who is in a chair at commentary. Meg F-5's Kris on the floor. Meg then F-5's Kris in the ring to win.

Thoughts: They didn't sell much at all here and mostly just spammed big moves in the 2nd half of this which brought these down. Though so it certainly wasn't boring and they did better than I expected.

Toni Storm and Meg fight after and security tries to break it up. Toni gets on the mic after. She says Meg looks at her title but she doesn't have much to say. Toni says they will have a date at Dynasty.

Overall thoughts: They had a limited show due to many people not being able to make the show due to snow storms. The only thing people will be talking about out of this one is the spike spot. It was brutal. Everything went long on this show and Cope/Mox had a much better match than they did at the PPV. This was all wrestling with limited storylines and I'd give this one a 5 out of 10. You have to see the Mox/Cope spike spot.
