WWE NXT 4/21/2026 NXT Revenge 2026 Week 2

WWE NXT 4/21/2026 NXT Revenge 2026 Week 2

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2026/04/wwe-nxt-4142026-nxt-revenge-2026-week-1.html

We are at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. Vic Joseph and Booker T are on commentary.

MB runs at him and takes a big spinebuster for 2. MB hits a big lariat and a dropkick. MB hits forearms. Dion misses a facekick, hits a hard back elbow and a northern light's suplex for 2. MB boots him in the gut and suplexes him for 2.

Dion pounds on him and is powerslammed. MB tope con hilos him and Osiris Griffin outside. MB gets distracted and Dion lariats him on the apron. MB is thrown into the apron edge. We go to PiP break and return.

MB hits punches and lariats on Dion. Dion lariats MB over the top. Dion punches him outside. MB punches him back outside then Dion backdrops him on the steps. Dion hits mounted shots on MB. Dion slingshot sitout bombs MB for 2. MB ddt's him off a spinebuster attempt. MB hits lariats then backbreakers him.

MB ushigoroshi's him for 2. MB goes up top and Shugars bothers him. Dion crotches MB up top. Dion superplexes him. They butt heads and trade punches. They clothesline each other at the ssame time. Cutler James saves Dion then Dion is pushed into Shugars. MB hits a zigzag on Dion and pins him.

Thoughts:
I liked what we got of it. The crowd was into it and they had some power behind their slams and spinebusters. They did a nice job here. Both men really need some promo time though each week to grow though.

Blake Monroe talks to The Vanity Project. They put her over and tell he she's got this. Drake is looking at girls on his phone. Blake excuses them and Drake says they will be across the street if she needs anything.

Sayquon Shugars talks to Robert Stone. He wants Dark State to get another chance and Stone has to go.

Tatum Paxley and Shiloh Hill talk. TP says she say him in the Andre battle royal. Hill says TP will put Blake to rest tonight in the casket. TP is nervous The Vanity Project will interfere. Hill says he got them a date and it'll be a while. He says he has a match with Saints next week and wishes her luck.

WWE LFG Season 3 starts Sunday. I will be reviewing that here.

Joe Hendry vs Keanu Carver

KC misses a charge and takes shots from Joe. Joe chops him in the corner. Joe boots him out of the corner and clips him. Joe kneelifts him for 2. KC hits corner spears on Joe then foot chokes him.

Joe is thrown into the buckles and goes down. KC backbreakers Joe over the shoulder. KC is tripped into the ropes then Joe lariats him over the top. We go to break and return.

Joe hits elbows then KC germans him. KC stomps him. KC backbreakers him for 2. KC stretches him over his back. KC misses a corner spear. Joe its punches and drops him with a lariat. Joe spinning lariats him. Joe fallaway slams KC. Joe plays to the crowd and is hit with a hard lariat. KC spinebusters him. KC hits a flurry of downward forearms and Joe is out of it. The ref stops the match.

Thoughts: I liked what we got here. Joe's a good foil for KC as he's a likeable, not so intimidating face while KC is the exact opposite. The only bad thing is that Joe is a little taller than KC and it exposed his height a little.

Lizzy Rain does a video. She says they said she was too loud and gritty and unapologetic. She says hse will never apologize for who she is. She says the stage is set for her debut and find out that her and heavy metal will never die.

Thoughts: Rain won an MVP award at a tryout recently and I guess they were impressed enough to put her on NXT right from the start. Every European they put on NXT though gives me less hope in NXT Europe happening...

WWE Speed Title - Lexis King vs EK Prosper

EK flips over him into a backslide. King pulls him by the hair and slaps him. EK chops him. EK flips into the ropes and dropkicks him. EK dropkicks him in the corner and slingshot guillotine legdrops him for 2. King slides out and King hides behind Arianna Grace.

King gets stuck on the 2nd rope and hit with a springboard double stomp. King dropkicks him in the corner. They trade forearms and slaps. EK flying knees him for 2. King straightjacket backcrackers him. EK overhead belly to belly suplexes him.

EK is knocked off the top. EK overhead throws him off the apron. EK top rope moonsaults King and his buddies outside. Arianna slaps EK and EK hits King's buddies outside. King hits the coronation neckbreaker on EK and pins him.

Thoughts: It was a little rushed but they didn't do that bad with all that was going on. I guess this helps give King's group some credibility. Like Dion and Myles, EK needs some more mic time to get the audience familiar with him.

The Vanity Project are at a bar and they want to spy on Drake's date. Drake says the girl never showed up. Smokes and Brad try to make him feel better. Drake says Lebron took L's and if he can take an L, so can he. Bayley Humphrey then asks if he got stood up and seems to want to go out with him. We then cut away.

Dark State talk in the back. Shugars says he tried to help Dion. He says he got them a rematch though. Dion says he can beat Myles in a rematch. Shugars says he's not getting the rematch and said Stone told him it had to be him who got the rematch. Shugars says Dion meant "by any means" and asks if he meant that. Shugars says he's bringing the title home next week.

NXT Women's North American Title - Casket Match - Tatum Paxley (c) vs Blake Monroe

They hockey fight to start. TP bangs BM's face off her knee. TP  tries to throw her in the casket. TP dropkicks her through the ropes. TP misses a corner crossbody. TP boots BM off the apron then superkicks her in the gut. TP then hits her with flowers.

TP forearms her into the casket door. TP brings out a doolhouse from under the ring. They put it against the rails. BM eye rakes her then dropkicks her into the dollhouse.

We go to break and return. TP step up enzugiri's her. TP hits a high kick then germans her. TP flipping legdrops her in the back and rolls her into the casket. BM hits her with a casket pillow. They hit each other on the apron and both fall into the casket with the lid closing on them.

They laugh at each other. BM slaps her. BM pounds on her on top of the casket. TP spanish flies her off the casket and onto the floor.

BM sprays TP with a fire extinguisher. BM bridging double underhook ddt's her on the floor. TP is mostly in the casket and BM slams the lid. The title is in the way through and the lid isnt' fully shut. BM whips TP with a title belt.

BM pours fake diamonds in the ring. TP tequila shot's her onto them. TP koppo kicks her into the casket and shuts the lid on her to win.

Thoughts: It was an entertaining bout with some gimmicky weapons and the two having some fun moments against each other. I enjoyed this. This probably should be Blake's swan song in NXT as it's not really helping her all that much.

Jackson Drake is dating with Bayley Humphrey. She says she used to be a mortician assistant. He thinks it's hot. He says he's never been so happy to be stood up before. He shows her the girl he was supposed to date and she says it's an AI bot. Drake says he knows who did this. Bayley says let's go get some dinner and says his friends can join if they want. Drake doesn't want them to come but Bayley does. Bayley then shoves a guy as they leave.

Lola Vice comes out to talk. She says she showed everyone the champ she could be in her first title defense. She says Jacy Jayne reinvented herself. She says the hardest part of being a champ is keeping it. She says she feels it and sees it. She says the division is deep, hungry and full of girls ready for their moment. She says the girls aren't competition but threats. She says she's ready to face the girls who want a shot as she is that girl. She says you are stepping into a fight with her. She says facing her will just get you knocked out and danced on.

Izzi Dame comes out with The Culling. Izzi says Lola acts like she cleared out the whole division with one defense. She says Lola called her a threat and it's true. Izzi says the whispers are getting louder in the locker room. Izzy says she's watching and learning while Lola swings on everything that moves. She says she's waiting for Lola to make a mistake. She says Lola is a champ who will lose in small moments, not big one. She says she will rip her apart.

Lola says Izzi's waiting sounds like hesitation to her. She says by the time she comes for her, she will get her @ss kicked. Izzi says she's 2 steps ahead. The Culling surround Lola, Niko grabs Lola's title and Izzi facekicks her down. Izzi then poses with the title on her.

The Birthright are interviewed. Kin says he's the fastest man alive as the Speed champ. He says they are real stars and won't stop until everyone has gold. EK Prosper comes in. He says King wouldn't be champ without his crew and they need to run it back. Dorian Van Dux comes in and says the heels won't fight fair. He says he will team with EK though. The heels talk smack and agree. Arianna says they have to leave as they have a championship celebration.

We get a video on Kendal Grey. She talks about amateur wrestling and growing up in Vegs. She says she competed against guys in high school. She says she was a tomboy. She says she went to a Mets game and got hit with a foul ball. She says she constantly got injured a lot as a kid. She says she got her head split open by a guy and was bit in the lip by a dog. She says she was obsessed with winning and still is. She says there's a lot to of work to be done and won't stop until she wins the NXT Title.

Robert Stone talks to Lola Vice in the back. She says she needs to even the odds vs The Culling.

We then see Ricky Saints beating up Shiloh Hill and throwing a bookcase on him. Ricky then yells at him.

Stone is asked about Shiloh Hill but he has no updates.

Tony D'Angelo is given a box with Japanese characters on it. Stone tells him he will know who his challenger is next week. Keanu Carver comes in. He says if he wants a shot he will take it. He says the box has a symbol of war on it and he better be ready as there's sharp snakes circling around here.

Last Man Standing Match - Sol Ruca vs Zaria

Zart tries to attack her from behind. Sol hits mounted shots and lariats her over the top. Sol 2nd rope tornillo's her outside. Zar boots her in the face then throws a trash can at her face. Sol dropkicks a trash can into her.

Zar whips her with a cord. She then wraps it around Sol's mouth and lifts her. Sol hits her with a trash can lid. Sol facebusters her. Sol hits her with a kendo stick. Sol puts a kendo stick in her mouth and pushes her into the mat.

Zar pump kicks her outside. Sol spears her through the riser. We go to PiP break and return. They fight on the rail top. Zar F-5's her off of it through the commentary table. Zar puts a table against the riser. Sol germans her on the floor and running knees her. Zar bangs Sol's head off a table and off the post. Sol hits her with the side legs of the commentary table.

Sol climbs on top of the riser. Zaria goes missing. Sol leapfrogs her spear on the riser. Sol hits a sol snatcher off a rail maybe onto the riser top. They trade shots. Sol nearly pushes her off. Zar says she's sorry and she loves her. Sol pulls her away from the edge and stares at her. They look at each other and hug. Zar then pushes Sol off the riser through the two tables next to each other. Sol seems to hit her head on one table as she goes through another. Sol then can't meet the 10 count and loses.

Thoughts
: They went all out here and put out a strong effort for this. It's a shame it got cut up some by a break. Sol was a dumb babyface in the end, but it made for a good dramatic ending. This was a good bout and should be the end of Sol's run in NXT as she heads to the main roster.

Overall thoughts: It was a good show and they basically gave us a PLE level card for free here. I liked Borne/Dion. The stuff with The Vanity project was entertaining. Hendry/Carver clicked well together. King/Prosper had too much shenanigans going on. Paxley/Blake was an entertaining bout and the main event was very good. This was a complete NXT and as always, they got a lot done. This show also should be the final NXT matches of Sol, Blake and Hendry which made it more special I'd give this an 8 out of 10 and I thought this was worth a look.

NWA Powerrr 4/21/2026

NWA Powerrr 4/21/2026

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2026/04/nwa-powerrr-4142026.html

Joe Galli, Danny Dealz and Colby Corino/Tim Storm are on commentary.

NWA Junior Heavyweight Title Gut Check Challenge - Damian Fenrir vs Alex Misery vs Ethan Tornadeau

The winner moves onto an immediate title shot after.

Alex boots DF then ET joins in. DF fights them off and ET is sent out. Alex clips DF then elbow drops his leg. ET is thrown off a headscissors attempt by Alex. ET walks the top rope and Alex catches his diving headscissors. Alex hits a styles clash on him for 2.  DF knees Alex in the gut and euros him.

Alex moonsaults his opponents for 2 counts. Alex stomps DF's leg. DF fallaway slams him. ET poisonrana's DF. ET top rope moonsaults Alex. DF hits splash mountain on ET and pins him.

Thoughts:
It was a random 3-way but what we got was fine. Everyone got their spot in or two before going home. This didn't go long. Fenrir sold his leg all throughout this. They said this was Ethan's 4th match and his NWA debut. He didn't do bad but he's smaller and going to have to be a cruiserweight.

Bryan Idol does a promo. He says Carnage cost him his title shot. He says Billy Corgan told him he will get another shot. He says he won't back down from a bully and will put his title shot on the line in a no limits match. He says he will uphold the history and legacy of the NWA and beat him 1-2-3. He says looks kill and so does he.

NWA Junior Heavyweight Title - SLADE (c) vs Damian Fenrir

DF is still selling his leg. Aaron Stevens sweeps DF before it starts. DF hits forearms on Slade. DF dropkicks him. Slade dragon suplexes him then overhead belly to belly suplexes him for 2. Slade beats up on a downed DF. DF hits chops and Slade exploders him.

DF back elbows him. Slade is knocked off the buckles and DF crossbodies him for 2. DF goes for a buckshot lariat but his leg gives out. Slade lariats him. Slade hits an air raid crash. Slade ties his legs up and pulls on the injured knee. DF submits.

Thoughts:
Slade won by submission as expected. It was fine with DF selling the leg and giving it a shot before going down. At least he has an out for losing.

The Lost do a promo. Alex says a sacrifice had to be made. He says they didn't fail. He says The Gymp will get it done tonight.

We see clips of Sirena Veil not breaking her triangle hold vs Kylie Paige a few weeks ago. We then see Haley J slapping Tommy Henry and knocking him out.

The Paige Sisters do a promo. Kylie talks about being up Haley J. Kenzie says J put her hands on their dad. Kenzie says she would have beaten Veil. Kenzie offers to face Veil in a tag match. She wants to put her title up on the line and says if Veil and her partner lose, they can't fight for the Women's Title for a year.

Brandon McCord and Bonez are interviewed by Kyle Davis in the ring. Bradon says people are telling him he's a fool and he believes in things that are unexplainable. He says he does believe in those things. He says when he was told of a man in Haiti who had fits and spoke in tongues, he knew he had to see it in person. He says he knew there was nothing wrong with Bonez, he was experiencing a transformation and something was speaking through him.

Gaagz The Gymp vs Bonez

Bonez shakes his head around and side headlocks Gymp. Gymp side headlocks him then Bonez hits a spin kick in the corner. Bonez headbutts Gymp then corner lariats him. Bonez dropkicks him for 2. Thoughts
: This was a match with two of the NWA's wilder characters. It was something different and not particularly great or anything. It was indeed a freakshow.

El Encanto Tattoo

We go to El Encanto Tattoo. C-Lo and PB Smooth argue about tattoos with Silas Mason and Tiffany Nieves. Silas says he agrees with C-Lo and says tattoos are sinful. PB asks Tiff about Dr. Vik. Tiff says Vik is obsessed with her and follows her everywhere. PB asks Tiff if she's playing a game with him. Tiff says the title attracts everyone. PB says he's too obsessed. Tiff says PB is interested in her life. PB says they come from the same place. Tiff says she has one more task for Dr. Vik. Silas says she's playing Vik and Tiff says to hush. Silas says it's a game.

Sirena Veil does a promo. She says through mutual enemies comes unexpected connections. Haley J comes in and asks why it's so bark in here. She says don't be confused, money talks.

PB Smooth vs Big Cuzzo

This is Big's NWA debut and he looks similar to PB. They lock up twice. PB teases hitting him in the corner and Big flinches. Big shoves him. PB chest clubs him in the corner and bangs his face off the buckles. PB chops him.

PB corner splashes him then slams him. Big double chops him in the corner. Big misses a corner charge and goes into the post. C-Lo tells PB to take him out. PB hits a big punch then hits a standing blue thunder on him to win.

Thoughts: It was all squash here and it's a shame as I wanted to see what Big Cuzzo do. He got nothing in and didn't get put over well here.

Trevor Murdoch then climbs up top and diving bulldogs PB down.

Daisy Kill does a promo. He says he has a special announcement. He says Eric Smallz needed to use underhanded tactics vs him. He says they should have a ladder match with a kendo stick up top. He says if he can get the kendo stick, he needs to swing it as hard as he can. He says he's had enough games and will put him in the ground where he belongs. He says they will continue with the reign of terror all summer.

Mike Mondo and SLADE do a promo. Mondo says in The Crockett Cup, it doesn't matter who they face. He says any team who gets in their way will find out who they are all about. SLADE says they came up short in 2025 but look at them now. Slade says they got bigger, stronger and faster. Slade says whoever faces them already knows it's gutcheck time.

Pretty City Express (CLAS and Devin Reno) vs Jack and Eddie (Eddie Grayson and Jack Valor)

Eddie has the singlet on and Jack has the pants on. Reno is the bald one and Clas looks like LA Knight.

Reno misses a charge and Eddie kicks him. Eddie sliding germans Reno then Jack kneeling springboard swantons Reno. Jack dropkicks Clas out. Reno is held for a forearm and nekbreaker. Clas trips Eddie. Eddie is beat up on in the corner. Reno boots Eddie in the corner and Clas joins in.

Eddie takes a double mule kick for 2. Clas chinlocks Eddie. Eddie hits forearms on Clas. Reno clubs Eddie then kneedrops his spine. Eddie sunset flips Reno. Jack tags in. Jack top rope double crossbodies The Express. Jack hits corner attacks on The Express. Jack does a rolling cutter + senton combo on The Express. Jack tornado ddt's Reno.

The Express block a double team on Reno. Reno and Jack trade pin attempts. Jack corkscrew kicks Reno. The Express block a spanish fly. Jack is held for a flapjack + fameasser combo. Clas pins Jack.

Thoughts
: Jack and Eddie got signed recently to the NWA so I expected them to win here. They are both 18 they say and really do look young. They are for sure going to be a babyface team and basically work like The Young Bucks/The Rascalz or another team like that. The match was fine. The two teams kept things moving. I liked The Clas' finisher here. The big question is whether there will be any follow up on this one.

Tiffany Nieves, Greta and Ms. Starr talk to Dr. Vik. Tiff tells him to focus on the match with Wrecking Ball and says he can focus on Silas Mason after. Tiff tells Vik he's got this. Vik says he doesn't feel good about this and Tiff claims he's ready.

No Limits Match - Bryan Idol vs Carnage

There's no DQ's for this one.

Carn misses a corner charge. Idol hits punches. Idol superkicks him then flying knees him in the corner. Idol 2nd rope diving lariats him. Idol double jump moonsaults him for 2. Carn low blows him then backdrops him. Idol chops him and Carn fires back.

Carn suplexes him. Carn hits 3 slams after the crowd asks for another slam. Idol's head is banged off the buckles. Carn powerslams him. Carn low blows him. Carn goes for a powerbomb (The announcers say he is trying to powerbomb him to the floor) then Thom Lattimer comes in and chairs Carn. But there's no DQ's, so he can.

Idol goes up and over Carn and gets a 2 count. Carn lariats him. Idol cradles Carn and pins him.

Thoughts: It wasn't that special and the stip didn't play in all that much here besides some low blows and one chair shot. I didn't even know Thom and Idol were affiliated as they don't really hang out together on this show. I'd say this was underwhelming. We just had to see that Bonez vs Gymp match instead of letting this go another 5-10 minutes...

Overall thoughts: It was your usual NWA Powerrr with random matches and debuts and a lackluster main event. The opener was a random three-way. Fenrir won and his injuries from it played into the next match he lost. Gaagz The Gymp and Bonez didn't particularly impress but it was something different. Tiffany Nieves confirmed she is using Dr. Vik. PB Smooth basically squashed Big Cuzzo. Jack and Eddie vs The Pretty City Express was an okay bout and it got enough time. The Express won but will it lead to anything? The main event was underwhelming and didn't accomplish a lot. I'd give it a 5 out of 10 and it really was your average NWA Powerrr ep. I like NWA's wrestlers, their commentary and the promotion but the booking is always disappointing.

All Japan Pro Wrestling 4/19/2026 Champion Carnival 2026 Day 3

MUSASHI & Saito Brothers (Naruki Doi & Rei Saito) vs. Hokuto Omori, Takashi & Xyon

Rei pinned Omori with a bodypress. It was a not so serious tag match based around Takashi's usual throat thrusts and Rei being the power guy. It wasn't much of note and wasn't that good.

Champion Carnival 2026 Block A Match - Kuma Arashi vs. Oddyssey

They lock up and Kuma clean breaks him. Kuma side headlocks him. They shoulder battle. Odd knees him in the gut. Odd clubs him then gets dropkicked in the corner. Odd goes out of the ring and Kuma jumps off the apron onto him. Odd's head is banged off the apron. Kuma's slam attempt is blocked inside and Odd slams him down instead. Odd elbow drops him.

Thoughts:
It was an alright hoss vs hoss match here. They squished each other and did a lot of lariats. It made sense and they did their job here.

Honda superplexes him then exploders him. Yuma running lariats him for 2. Yuma spin kicks him in the face then fisherman suplexes him for 2. Honda lariats him. Honda running lariats him for 2. Honda running one arm powerbombs him and wins.

Thoughts: They basically flipped switch during the middle of this and picked things up fast. That was fine with me as it did make it more interesting. Honda had some nice lariats as usual and I'd say it wasn't bad overall.

Champion Carnival 2026 Block B Match - Hideki Suzuki vs. Ren Ayabe

Ren backs him up on the ropes and goes to rub his head. HS slaps him and Ren slaps him back. HS wristlocks him. Ren wristlocks him. Ren takes him down by the arm. Ren waistlocks him and they get up.

They trade forearms. Ren shotgun dropkicks him. HS hits him in the gut, throws him over by the arm and pins him with a bridge.

Thoughts:
It didn't look promising on paper and wasn't that much more interesting in reality. These are two of the lesser exciting guys on the roster and this wasn't that great. Ren took two bumps over the top to the floor which you don't see him do everyday.

They go at it more after with HS taunting him.

Seigo Tachibana, Seiki Yoshioka & Zennichi Shin Jidai (Atsuki Aoyagi & Rising HAYATO) vs. Daisuke Sekimoto, Dan Tamura, Ryo Inoue & The Bodyguard

Seigo and Dan go at it. Dan forearms him then shoulders him over. Seigo armdrags him and takes a side headlock takeover. They stand off. Rising and Ryo get in. Ryo wristlocks him. Body then hits a double lariat on Seiki and Seigo. Body corner lariats Seiki then gets ganged up on. Sek takes a double back elbow and hits a double lariat. Body and Sek do stereo delayed suplexes on Rising and AA.

Body hits corner lariats on Seiki. Dan shoulders Seiki over. Seigo comes in and forearms Dan. Dan flying shoulders him over. Seiki axe kicks Dan. Ryo takes superkicks from AA and Rising. AA poses then Body and Sek come in and pose. AA and Rising are chopped down by Body and Sek. Body and Sek are pulled over the top and hit with planchas. Seiki asai moonsaults outside.

Dan back elbows Seigo then lariats him down. Seigo hits a b-driver on Dan for 2. Seigo crucifix bombs Dan and pins him.

Thoughts
: Seigo pinned Dan at the last show too and they are definitely pushing the case for him being a challenger. It wasn't long. Everyone made the best of what they got in this juniors and heavies bout. It was average.

Madoka Kikuta vs. Shota Kofuji

Shota dropkicks him then hits a forearm flurry. MK knees him in the gut then Shota flying headscissors him. Shota chops MK in the corner but MK no sells it. MK then chops him. MK pulls him by the hair. Shota tries more chops and is choked.

MK boots Shota around while he is down. MK chops him down. MK slams him and foot chokes him. MK chops him. Shota chops back and is put in a swinging sleeper. Shota swinging neckbreakers MK. Shota boots him out of the corner and rolls into a dropkick on him.

They chop each other. Shota springboard flying forearms him then fisherman suplexes him. MK shoulders him over then flying hip attacks him. MK lariats him then spinning lariats him for the win.

Thoughts:
It was a vet vs rookie match for the most part and basically a squash. Shota tried dropkicks and chops and didn't get too far before being put down.

Champion Carnival 2026 Block A Match - Talos vs. Go Shiozaki

Go is pushed off the lock up and Tal poses. Go hits a punch and tries to shoulder him over but gets nowhere. Go headbutts him then Tal shoulders him over. Go headscissors him over the top rope and flying shoulders him off the apron. Tal is then sent into the post.

They go out and Go chops him. Tal sends Go into the post. Tal throws him inside. Tal headchops Go down inside. Tal lifts him for a backdrop, Go is supposed to land on his feet but launches himself into the corner. Tal corner splashes him and running facekicks him.

Go chop flurries him in the corner. Tal spinning side slams Go for 2. Tal running facekicks Go. Tal chokeslams Go and pins him.

Thoughts: They had the right idea but they chose the wrong person to do it with. They just had Go main eventing with their top star last night and they had him jobbing here. This just made Go look bad and was a stupid idea.

Champion Carnival 2026 Block A Match - Kento Miyahara vs. Yuma Anzai

Ken and Yuma lock up and Ken ropebreaks. Yuma then ropebreaks and Ken hits him. Yuma waistlocks him then Ken wristlocks him. Yuma hammerlocks him. Ken trips him and leg locks him. Yuma facelocks him then takes him over. Ken goes for the headscissors and they stand off. Ken facekicks Yuma then Yuma dropkicks him. Yuma clubs him outside.

Ken is sent into the post. Ken is laid on the apron and Yuma knees him in the face. Yuma is sent into the post. Yuma jumps off a chair and flying forearms him. Ken running facekicks him then foot chokes him. Ken chinlocks him. Ken camel clutches him. Ken back elbows him then crabs him. Ken bullies him with facekicks. They trade forearms. Ken running facekicks him. Ken dropkicks him in the knee and flying pumping knees him. Yuma 2nd rope dropkicks Ken.

Yuma belly to belly suplexes him for 2. They trade forearms. Yuma dropkicks him. Yuma then does Misawa's facelock to him.

They fight on the apron. Yuma knocks him down then flying knees him off the apron. They trade forearms in the ring. Yuma gets the edge but Ken brainbusters him. Yuma forearms him. Ken is up top and Yuma flying knees him. Yuma suplexes him down for 2. Ken running lariats him. Yuma facelocks him. Ken flying pumping knees him.

They trade forearms. They bang knees. Yuma flying knees him from behind then flying knees him in the face for 2. Yuma meteora's him for 2. Ken flying pumping knees him then pumping knees him for 2. Yuma flying knees him. Ken blocks his gimlet attempt and the 30 minute time limit expires.

Thoughts: They spent a lot of this one outside on the floor. AJPW loves outside brawling but I think it often just disrupts the flow of the match. Ken really beat up on Yuma for the first half of this then Yuma eventually made his comeback and things evened up. They absolutely spammed flying knees here. I thought it was acceptable and it was nice to see them get lots of time to work with, but I didn't love this.
Ken talks on the mic after. Ken goes to leave then Yuma talks on the mic.

Overall thoughts:
The opener wasn't much as expected. Kuma/Oddysey was a decent hoss match. Honda/Aoyagi picked up in the second half of their match and it wasn't bad. Ayabe/Suzuki looked boring on paper and it was. The 8-man tag was average. Kikuta/Kofuji was a squash. Talos/Shozaki was also a squash. The main went to a 30 minute draw. They spent a lot of time outside and spammed flying knees. I thought it was acceptable but not much more. I'd give this a 5 out of 10. It was an average show and nothing here really need to be seen.

Page says he's here now and he gets what he wants. He says he wants the IC Title and won't need a 2nd chance like him. Evans asks if he's trying to get funny. Finn Balor says Dominik Mysterio brought out The Demon and The Demon put him down. He says Dom drew first blood and is the first to fall. He says he expected Dom to betray him. He says he remembers when JD was a 12 year old walking into the gym. He says he helped him grow into one of the greatest performers on earth. He says when he needed someone to have his back, it was always going to be JD. He says JD chose Dom in the end. He says he brought JD into this business and will take him out.

Evans goes up top and is swept. Page hits a twist of fate and wins.

Thoughts: It was a midcard match but totally fine. Page thankfully won to get his stay on Raw off to a good start.

Rusev stomps Evans then hits mounted shots and stomps. Rusev then puts him in a camel clutch. Penta comes out to save Evans. Penta hits leg kicks then superkicks him. Penta goes up top and is pushed by Page. Rusev machka kicks Penta. Page claps for Rusev. Rusev camel clutches Penta again. Rusev then puts the IC Title on his shoulder.

Paige and The Bella Twins are in the front row.

The Judgment Day come out. The crowd chants "you deserve it" at Liv. Liv says that's the smartest thing they said and says they are in the presence of the greatest women's champ of all time.

Liv thanks The Judgment Day. She thanks Steph Vaquer and says she reminded her that she's the most talented woman in the WWE. She says this is her show and her title.

Sol Ruca comes out and interrupts. Sol says she's been watching her and says she's an inspiration to her. She says it taught her that Liv is the top woman in this division. She congratulates her. Liv says thanks and says she has some nerve to interrupt her championship celebration. Liv tells her she is no Liv Morgan. She tells her she can save herself and get out of her ring right now. Sol says she didn't come to pick a fight but won't back down from one.

Adam Pearce comes out. Adam says the crowd acts like they want to see a fight. Adam brings a ref out and asks if she can handle this. Adam says it's Sol vs Liv right now.

Liv Morgan vs Sol Ruca

Sol kips down out of a lariat, trips her and superkicks her. Liv hits some kicks and rolls her up for 1. Liv flying headscissors her and Sol dropkicks her. Sol rolls her. Liv gets her knees up on Sol's snapmare. Sol goes for a springboard and is tripped up.

Sol then flying space tiger drops Roxanne and Raquel outside. Zaria then comes out and pushes Sol into the post. She then spinebusters Sol on the floor. Sol comes in and is hit with oblivion. Liv pins her.

Thoughts:
It was a good showcase for Sol. She matches up well with Liv and gave her one of her better bouts. Sol didn't lose clean either so it saves her the loss. Sol should be fine on the main roster.

Liv celebrates in the aisle. Stephanie Vaquer comes out and stares her down.

We get a video on Brock Lesnar's career.

The Vision come out. We go to break and return. Paul says his favorite part of Mania is expecting the unexpected. He says yesterday was a moment that was so unexpected that'll live in his and others hearts for the rest of their lives. He says CM Punk was kissing @ss earlier. He says Brock is still in the "Then, Now, Forever" part of the intro. He says to take Brock out of the "Now" and into the "Forever". He says he's not the now but will forever be the baddest that will be in the ring.

Heyman says WWE's tag division is resurging thanks to Austin and Logan. Logan gets booed every time he tries to talk. He says The Uso's and LA won at Mania due to the backstabbing weasel IShowSpeed. Logan says he's tired of youtubers and outsiders coming into the business and doing what they do. He says nothing at Mania mattered as Speed left this weekend with a piece of his fist in face. Logan says he and Austin also kept their tag titles.

Heyman thanks Gunther for the favor. He says he thanks him and owes him. He says he will repay anytime. He says the best assist of the weekend belongs to Bron Breakker.

Bron Breakker comes out. He says he became the leader of The Vision one year ago because Seth Rollins was too weak. He says his favorite part of Mania was him ruining Seth's chance at beating Gunther. He says he hopes Seth is watching somewhere as he will be coming after him and will attack him.

Seth Rollins comes out and nails The Vision with a chair. Austin punches Seth down. Logan hits Seth in the gut as Seth gets held.

The Street Profits come out without shirts on. They attack The Vision and send them out. Ford tope con hilos out. The Profits then beat up Austin and Logan in the crowd. Bron is bleeding from the head somehow and Seth pounds on Bron. Seth stomps him then Bron spears him. Bron rips up Seth's shirt

He says he never needed him and says the people will remember him as a shell of what he used to be. Bron spears him again.

Thoughts: We'll have to find out what The Profits were here for. Bron got really busted open somehow during this.

JD McDonaugh does a promo. He says it's time for Finn to get serious. He says him and Finn are supposed to be family but Finn changed so much. He says Finn took cues from Punk. JD says Finn cost them gold. He says it was easy turning on him and he'd do it again. He says he will show the old Finn Balor is dead.

Trick Williams is in the crowd.

Finn Balor vs JD McDonaugh

Finn lariats JD over the top before he's ready. JD rams him into the apron edge and rails. JD is back body dropped over the rails. Finn flying forearms him off the rails. Finn kicks JD and they go into the stands. Finn is sent into the rail. JD is lariated over the rail into ringside.

Finn hits shots to the gut. Finn final cuts him. Finn's mouth is busted open. Finn stomps him. Finn slingblades him. JD rolls him up for 2. JD headbutts him down for 2. JD is booted off a top rope moonsault attempt. Finn top rope double stomps him and wins.

Thoughts: It was a more brief match but it was a decent battle with them brawling and doing some flying. I liked this.

Dominik Mysterio jumps Finn after. Finn john woo's him in the corner and Dom runs.

Gunther is interviewed. He says he feels good and proved everything he said by beating Seth. He says he is not connected with Paul Heyman but says Paul owes him a favor. Gunther says everyone should get comfortable seeing the title around his waist soon.

LA Knight comes in and congratulates him. LA says Gun isn't the only one with eyes on the title. He says Gun needed help from others to win at Mania.

Becky Lynch will be on next week's show and Joe Hendry will be in concert. We are told Joe is now a Raw roster member. Graves isn't happy.

Rhea talks to Iyo. She tells her to handle her business here. Rhea says she will be the champ on SD. Rhea then walks past Liv and Liv says something about seeing her around. Rhea says she's looking to it.

Roman Reigns arrives in a car and heads to the ring.

Roman sees The Uso's on his way to the ring and tells them to come with him. Roman tells the fans to acknowledge him. He says they need to discuss some family business first. He says he missed having their trust and missed doing business with them. He says they are seperated and scattered and weak like this. He says Jey changed the environment and has washed rapped running their mouths at him. Roman says when they are together, they ran the business for 4 years straight. Roman says he's not asking to serve him but to stand with him. Jimmy says he will always be their tribal chief. Jimmy says they will always be the 1's. They raise their fingers.

Jacob Fatu interrupts and comes to the ring. Roman says it's been a while since he has seen him. He says there's only a few  reasons he could be here and he assumed it's to acknowledge him. Fat says that's not it. Roman says then he guesses it's because Fatu wants his title. Fatu says he doesn't want the title, he needs that title. He says he's not out here to be tribal chief, but he needs everything the tribal cheif has. He says he needs the show deal, the private jet, the rolex, a bigger house and more vehicles. He says he will do everything for his family even if he has to go through him. He says at Backlash, he's levelling up and upgrading his household. He says Roman will learn he's all gas and no breaks with it.

Roman says he wants those things for him too. He says maybe Fatu can beat him. He asks if he can handle the burden of the title. He says if he can't, can he handle the burden to acknowledge him. He says it's thin air up here at the top of the mountain. He says he will give him the rest of the week to think about it and says he's not sure if he's ready. He calls him little cousin and will give him until next week.

Thoughts: And this was the problem with Roman winning the title - Fatu Family Theater is back in session and it's only been one day. It'll help out The Anoai's, but it's not going to be a good time for the Bron Breakker's and the Oba Femi's of the world who aren't made men yet.

Overall thoughts: It was a great Raw and it brought back some memories of when the Raw after Mania was the best Raw of the year. All the stars were out, we got some new main roster debuts and had some good wrestling. This was what WWE needed after an awful Night 1 of Mania. We got some clear programs set up and things are getting shaken up fast. I'd give this a 7 out of 10.

All Japan Pro Wrestling 4/18/2026 Champion Carnival 2026 Day 2

All Japan Pro Wrestling 4/18/2026 Champion Carnival 2026 Day 2

Day 1 is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2026/04/all-japan-pro-wrestling-4122026.html

Day 3 is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2026/04/all-japan-pro-wrestling-4192026.html

I do not like the set up they have for this one at all. The camera is very far away for some reason and the crowd is so dense that it's hard to get any heat.

Atsuki Aoyagi, Rising HAYATO, Shota Kofuji, Kengo Mashimo & Seiki Yoshioka vs Shotaro Ashino, Hokuto Omori, Ryo Inoue, Hiroki Murase & Jack Kennedy

It was just a quick one with everyone getting a segment in and not a lot else. Kengo and Ashino had the best segment here. There was way too many people and not enough time. Aoyagi ended up winning this with a 450 on Ryo, because even though Murase barely work here, he had to be protected over Ryo.

Champion Carnival 2026 Block B Match - Ren Ayabe vs Xyon

They lock up and let go. Xyon side headlocks him. They collide and Ren hits some forearms. Xyon back elbows him then Ren facekicks him down. Ren corner facekicks Xyon then shoulders him over. Xyon headbutts Ren then flying forearms him. Ren flying neckbreakers him for 2. Ren crabs him.

Xyon spinning forearms him then running back elbows him. Xyon corner spears him. Ren running forearms him then full-nelson slams him. Xyon suplexes him. They trade forearms. Xyon hits some strikes then hiptoss neckbreakers him. Xyon ripcord samoan drops him for 2.

Xyon goes on the buckles and Ren throws him down. Ren shotgun dropkicks him. Ren hits his spinning sitout falcon arrow and pins him.

Thoughts:
I didn't expect much out of this but I liked it. Xyon and Ren somehow got some decent stuff out of each other and made it work. I think it was because it didn't go too long and they stuck to strikes. I was genuinely surprised by this and did not have this one on my bingo card.

Champion Carnival 2026 Block A Match - Oddyssey vs Rei Saito

Odd dances at him. They lock up and let go. They hockey fight. They run at each other and shoulder each other down. Odd goes out. They shoulder battle outside and Odd knocks him over. Odd chops him against the rail. Odd's back is rammed into the apron.

Rei elbow drops him as he rolls back in. Rei then splashes him. Rei butt drops him for 2. Odd back body drops him. Odd hits elbows in the corner and corner lariats him. Odd hits a headbutt flurry. They collide with lariats. Rei hits 2 crossbodies.

They trade shots. Rei hits a chop flurry in the corner. Rei shoulders him over for 2. Rei misses a shotei and is backdropped. Rei slaps him. Odd lariats him over. Odd 2nd rope splashes him and wins.

Thoughts:
It was what it should have been. They had a hoss style match with them trying to squash each other and them trading various strikes. They could have been more aggressive and stiffer, but they the idea right and I was fine with it.

Champion Carnival 2026 Block B Match - Daisuke Sekimoto vs Hideki Suzuki

They grapple to start. Suzuki wristlocks him. DS reverses it. DS cravates him and hammerlocks him. Suzuki chinlocks him. Suzuki hits a euro and DS dropkicks him out. DS goes for a tope and is hit with a forearm.

Suzuki hits forearms to the chest. Suzuki monkey flips him then knee drops him. DS overhead throws him then muso's him. DS corner spears him then suplexes him. DS splashes him for 2. DS racks him. DS atomic drops him. Suzuki germans him. Suzuki hits a dragon suplex then DS lariats him.

DS hits downward elbows and chest kicks. Suzuki pulls DS' arms backwards. DS hits a big lariat for 2. Suzuki dropkicks him then is lariated. DS AA's him with a bodypress and wins.

Thoughts: They basically squeezed like a 20 minute long main into a 10 minute match. It was an old school bout with them trading holds and was traditional pro wrestling. It wasn't bad.

Seigo Tachibana, Kuma Arashi & MUSASHI vs Dan Tamura, Yuma Anzai & Talos

Dan and Seigo lock up. Seigo forearms him and side headlocks him. Dan boots him then Seigo armdrags and dropkicks him. Dan shoulders him over. Tal and Musashi get in. Mu stops Tal's foot and Mu blocks a chokeslam. Mu tries to make friends. They shake hands and Mu kicks Tal. Tal then does let go. Mu is caught off the 2nd rope. Seigo tries to dropkick them over but Tal just rams Mu into his partners. Tal slams Mu.

Tal chinlocks Mu. Tal chinlocks Mu on the ropes. Yuma and Mu trade shots. Yuma hits forearms. Mu misses an enzugiri. Mu dropkicks him in the knee, double stomps his back and basement dropkicks him. Kuma comes in. Kuma slams Yuma then sentons him for 2.

Kuma corner lariats Yuma then 2nd rope sentons him for 2. Yuma dropkicks Kuma then belly to belly suplexes him. They trade forearms. Yuma flying knees Kuma. Kuma dropkicks Yuma. Yuma germans Kuma.

Dan and Seigo get in and trade forearms. Seigo facekicks him then Dan flying forearms him. Tal corner splashes Dan when Seigo moves. Tal goes after Seigo and is hit by his partners. Tal is sent to the apron then Yuma is knocked into him. Mu tope con hilos his opponents outside. Dan hits lariats on Seigo. Seigo hits forearms then olympic slams him for 2.

Dan is hit with a forearm to the back of the head then a running elbow. Seigo then pins Dan.

Thoughts
: It was a throwaway but wasn't that bad as they let Seigo have some fun with Talos involving their size differences. Everyone mostly did what they should have here and it was nice to see Seigo get a win.

Champion Carnival 2026 Block B Match - Yuma Aoyagi vs Jun Saito

They lock up and Jun clean breaks him. Jun wristlocks him and headlocks him. Jun shoulders him over. Yuma sits up top and Jun boots him down and out. Jun double axe handles Yuma then sends him into the rails. Jun knocks him down outside and Yuma sends him into the rails.

Yuma rams Jun's shoulder into the rails. Yuma stomps and stands on Jun. Yuma rams Jun into the corner and hits corner spears. Yum snapmares him then elbow drops him for 2. Yuma slingshot elbow drops him for 2. Jun is down for a while after that.

Yuma euros him then hits corner spears. Jun back elbows him then corner facekicks him. Jun suplexes him for 2. Yuma hits forearms on Jun then dropkicks him. Yuma boots him out of the corner and 2nd rope dropkicks him. Yuma top rope dropkicks him. Yuma then grounded guillotines him.

Yuma hits back elbows. Yuma gets on the 2nd rope, Jun joins him and chokeslams him down. Yuma rolls up Jun then guillotines him in the air. Jun suplexes him. Jun spinning lariats him for 2. Yuma rolls up Jun for 2 counts. Yuma backrolls him for 2. Jun facekicks him and Yuma tornado ddt's him for 2.

Yuma top rope elbow drops him twice for 2. Yuma grounded guillotines him. Yuma adds a kimura onto it and Jun submits.

Thoughts
: It wasn't the most exciting bout. It had some logic to it with Yuma working Jun's injured pec and eventually winning with a hold that affected it some. I didn't love it and thought it was average. Yuma's starpower got really hurt by his outside of the ring incident and them throwing him in the CC as a replacement.

Champion Carnival 2026 Block B Match - Madoka Kikuta vs Ryuki Honda

They lock up. MK is backed up on the ropes and Honda clean breaks him. MK backs him up on the ropes. Honda side headlocks him. They shoulder battle and Honda knocks him over. MK is sent into the post. Honda wraps MK's arm around the rail. MK eye rakes him then hip attacks him against the rails.

MK forearms Honda's head into the buckles. Honda hits forearms on MK then MK chops him down. MK chinlocks him then pump kicks him from behind. MK camel clutches him. Honda suplexes him. Honda running corner lariats MK then spears him for 2.

Honda sits on his back with a kimura. MK hits forearms and Honda wrings the arm. MK leg lariats him then pump kicks him. MK chops him and punches him in the corner. Honda is up top and is pump kicked. MK running hip attacks him against the buckles.

Honda back body drops MK on the floor. They trade corner lariats and forearms. Honda germans him then MK flying hip attacks him. They trade forearms. They lariat each other at the same time. Honda hits a big lariat. Honda running lariats him for 2. Honda flying hip attacks him from behind for 2. MK swinging sleepers him.

Honda grabs the arm off a missed lariat so MK lariats him with the other arm. MK running lariats him for 2. MK spinning lariats Honda and pins him.

Thoughts: It was alright. It would have been best if they just had a hoss match where they lariated and stiffed each other. Instead, they did some of that and had Honda working MK's arm which wasn't as exciting. I still like what we got in the end though and they did try to add some extra logic to the match.

Champion Carnival 2026 Block A Match - Go Shiozaki vs Kento Miyahara

They lock up. Go backs him up on the ropes and clean breaks him. Go wristlocks Ken. Go trips him then Ken hammerlocks him. Ken slaps him on another break then facekicks him out. They fight outside. Kento headbutts him down outside and they trade headbutts in the crowd. Ken stands on Go's chest. Go is sent into the post. Go hits him in the aisle then ddt's him on the floor.

Go sends Ken into the rails then chinlocks him around the rails. Go running ridge hand chops him in the ring. Go ddt's him for 2. Go does Misawa's facelock on Ken. Go knee drops Ken on the neck. Ken hits chest shots then Go back elbows him.

Go pumping knees him over the 2nd rope for 2. Ken dropkicks Go in the knee and the head. Ken pump kicks Go off the apron. Ken headbutts Go outside. They fight on the apron and Go air raid crashes him there.

They get back in and Go lariats Ken. Go hits a chop flurry. Ken facekicks him. They trade chops for forearms. Ken fires up some. Go chops Ken. Ken germans him. Go lariats Ken down.

Ken pumping knees him. Go spinning forearms him. Go facelocks him then lets go for a 2 count. Ken cradles him for 2. Ken pumping knees him. Go superkicks him. Go 2nd rope twisting suplexes Ken for 2. Go hits a go flasher for 2. Ken flying knees Go. Ken pumping knees him for 2. Ken flying pumping knees him then Go lariats him for 2. Go running lariats him and pins him.

Thoughts: It was a bit formulaic and not overly exciting. Go did a lot of rest holds and chops. Ken brought the flying knees and headbutts. It ended up being okay in the end but it's mostly because they are long time established main eventers.

Go talks on the mic after.

Overall thoughts: The opener was a throwaway. I didn't expect much out of Xyon vs Ren but they somehow got the best out of each other. Oddyssey/Rei was what it should have been. We got a condensed version of Sekimoto/Suzuki and it wasn't bad. The trios match with Talos was alright. I thought Yuma/Jun was average. Kikuta/Honda wasn't 100% the match I wanted but they added some logic to what they usually did and it was an alright match. The main was a bit formulaic and mostly worked because of the rep both guys had. It wasn't overly exciting but they got the flow right by the end. My review probably makes the show look better than it was. It was a good show overall due to everything mostly being acceptable but it wasn't great. I'd give it a 6 out of 10.

Lightning Match - Esfinge vs Yutani

They lock up. Yut side headlock takeovers him and then they get back up. Yut takes him down by the arm. Esf trips him. Esf flying headscissors him and pumping knees him out. Esf goes for a dive and is enzugiri'd. Yut dropkicks him in the knee. Yut frogsplashes the knee then flipping legdrops it.

Esf is sat up top and Yut pulls his mask. Esf is in tree of woe and takes a basement dropkick. Yut single leg dropkicks im in the corner. Yut hits forearms. Esf boots him out of the corner then is superkicked down for 2. Yut basement dropkicks him in the back of the head.

Yut hits kicks to the head and Esf corkscrew kicks him. Esf hits lariats then flying pumping knees him in the corner. Esf springboard dropkicks him for 2. Esf monkey flips him twice. Esf then topes him outside.

Esf handspring cutters him for 2. Esf springboard crossbodies him but Yut rolls through for 2. Yut half nelson slams him and standing moonsaults him for 2. Yut top rope frogsplashes him for 2. They trade shots. Yut pump kicks him then Esf superkicks him. Esf enzugiri's him from the apron. Esf is dropkicked down to the floor then Yut tope con hilos him. Yut top rope frogsplashes him for 2.

Yut goes up and over and Esf corkscrew kicks him. Esf springboard splashes him and picks up the win with little time left.

Thoughts: It went a little longer than needed but it was a fun match with a lot of flying. The two worked pretty well together and I'd be up for a rematch. Yut definitely got some of the best work Esfinge has out of him.

Los Guerreros Laguneros (Gran Guerrero & Stuka Jr.) vs Star Black & Templario

1st Fall - Temp armdrags Stuka then takes back elbows. Temp flying snapmares him. Stuka sweeps him and they stand off. Star comes in and goes up and over Gran. He armdrags him. Temp asai moonsaults Gran and Temp top rope moonsaults Stuka. Temp and Star pick up pins. Templario's team wins the fall and match.

Thoughts: I didn't like the tower of doom spot was Star got his partner superplexed. It ended at about the right time otherwise and was a decent bout. Star didn't do a lot of usual reverse topes and such here.

El Sky Team (Mistico & Neon) vs Hechicero & Volador Jr.

1st Fall - Hech takes Neon down by the arm and side headlocks him. Neon trips him and they trade pin attempts. Hech twists the ankle then surfboards him, turning it into a pin. Neon armdrags him. Neon spinning headscissors him from the electric chair.

Hech chops Neon down then pulls at his mask. Hech works the arm and then Vol takes shots at the arm. Hech snapmares him then twists his neck with his feet. Vol headbutts Neon's arm. Neon makes the tag but the ref doesn't allow it. Neon armdrags Vol then hiptosses Hech.

Mist hits a springboard double crossbody and a double japanese armdrag. Neon is popped up into a double dropkick. Neon and Mist do a springboard swanton and springboard splash and pick up double pins. Mistico's team wins the fall.

Hech boots him over and stomps him. Vol joins in. Mist tries to fight off a double team. Mist is popped up and does an armdrag + headscissors. Mist flying headscissors Vol.

3rd Fall - Mist takes corner attacks. Vol superkicks Mist. Hech hits Neon in the gut. Mist springboard diving headscissors Hech and Neon flying headscissors Vol out. Mist goes for a dive and the ref stops him. Mist and Neon hit topes outside. Neon top rope crossbodies Hech. Neon enzugiri's Hech then springboard diving headscissors him. Neon standing moonsaults Hech for 2. Mist complains about the count as it did seem Neon had the pin.

Hech surfboards Neon. Mist tries to pin Hech while he does it. Vol superkicks Mist then Neon superkicks Vol. Hech dodges Neon's superkick. Neon flying headscissors him out then topes him. Mist springboard twisting crossbodies Vol. Vol blocks la mistica and sends Mist into the ref. Vol pulls off Mist's mask and cradles him. Vol pins Mist. Volador Jr.'s team wins the fall and match.

Thoughts: Things got weird here as the ref was basically acting like a heel ref for unknown reasons. CMLL doesn't usually do the heel ref thing by he was very close to being one. That ended up affecting the finish here and Vol ended up winning dirty. I wouldn't say it was anyone's best work and it was more of a heel dominated match. It was just average.

Overall thoughts: The opener was good and was the best thing on the show. The second match was decent. The main was marred by shenanigans with the ref and was just average. I'd give this one a 5 out of 10 and wouldn't really recommend it. It was an average show.

WWE Wrestlemania 42 Night 2 4/19/2026

WWE Wrestlemania 42 Night 2 4/19/2026

Night 1 is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2026/04/wwe-wrestlemania-42-night-1-4182026.html

We are still in Las Vegas, Nevada. Michael Cole and Wade Barrett are on commentary.

Last night was one of the worst shows WWE ever put on and tonight can't possibly be worse.

We see taped clips of wrestlers arriving and hanging out.

John Cena comes out to talk. He says they've made history and talks about Mania being on ESPN. He says we need to start with something big and welcomes us to the show. They then shoot off some fireworks.

Brock Lesnar vs Oba Femi

Oba gets big pops and a large chant. Brock has Paul Heyman with him. Paul takes the mic away from the ring announcer and does the intro for Brock.

They lock up and Brock shoves him off. Oba then shoves him off the lock up. Brock drives him in the corner and hits corner spears. Oba no sells it and shoves him down. Brock lariats him and Oba no sells it. Oba lariats Brock down. Brock goes out and looks frustrated.

Brock grabs the steps but puts them down. Oba grabs Brock by the hair then Oba's throat is pulled over the 2nd rope. Oba is rammed back first into the post. Oba is sent into the steps. Brock hits some germans. Oba hits back elbows then running euros him twice. Brock F-5's him.

Oba gets back up and chokeslams Brock. Oba pop-up sitout powerbombs Brock and pins him.

Thoughts: Oba basically squashed Brock here. It was a decision and definitely one of their options. I'm not sure if I would have done it though. The match didn't go very long which I expected and it wasn't quite as explosive as I hoped. I thought they buried Brock a little here. They had the right idea and it looks like it's all systems go on the Oba mega push.

Brock looks up at the sky and takes off his boots and gloves. Paul hugs Brock. Brock leaves with his stuff in the ring signifying he's done.

Thoughts: Well, credit to Brock for doing the job here if this is it. I'm not sure why they didn't push that this was Brock's retirement match, but maybe that's how he wanted it. Since it's not totally official, he could come back if he decides to. Brock had a really weird career. He left during his prime and I always thought him leaving when he did hurt his development. Because he was never around full-time, there were a lot of avenues they never really got to explore with him. In some cases that was good, and in some it wasn't. He kind of became a limited guy in his second WWE run but his star power, real life and look made up for it. I thought them giving him Taker's streak was a mistake as he's Brock Lesnar and he really didn't need it. Brock's mostly been a final boss type of guy over the last few years who would appear for big stuff when they needed him and then go away for a while. WWE's really going to miss him. WWE losing Cena, Brock and AJ all within a few months each other is a pretty tough hill to overcome. Those are going to be some hard guys to replace and I don't know if that can really happen in 2026. Brock was my favorite wrestler at various points in his career and I found him to be an inspiration. Him leaving is definitely an end to an era.

WWE Intercontinental Title - Ladder Match - Penta (c) vs. Je'Von Evans vs. Dragon Lee vs. JD McDonagh vs. Rusev vs. Rey Mysterio

JD, Lee and Rusev didn't get their entrances aired. Penta has a Shao Khan style entrance mask on with Mortal Kombat II logos.

JD clips Evans then stomps him. Penta jumps off a ladder and springboard plancha's Rusev. Penta superkicks JD. JD is triple teamed by the luchadores in the corner. Rusev pulls Rey out and sends him into the steps Rusev has a ladder slid into him. Rusev blocks dives with a ladder.

Rusev and Penta climb a ladder then Penta pulls Rusev down. Penta is pushed out by JD. Evans and JD are pushed off a ladder. Evans lands on Penta but JD lands in the ring. Evans springboard lariats JD off the ladder. Rey sandwiches a ladder into Lee and Lee is 619'd with a ladder on him.

Evans and Rey fight on the ladder. Rey hangs off the ladder. Evans superkicks Penta. Penta suplexes Evans on the ladder. Lee top rope dropkicks a hanging Rey. Rusev uranages Lee. Rusev uranage's Evans on a bridged ladder.

Rey is popped up and he la silla's Rusev through a bridged ladder. Rey hurricanrana's Penta into the ladder. Rey 619's Penta. Rey and Lee fight on the ladder. Rey boots Lee off the ladder. Rey's headscissors off the ladder is caught and he is hit with a style's clash. JD spanish flies Lee off the ladder.

JD and Penta fight on the ladder. Penta canadian destroyers JD onto a bridged ladder. Evans grabs the title but Rusev pushes the ladder over. Evans is then pulled down and thrown out. Rusev climbs a ladder. Evans top rope diving cutters him off the ladder. Penta jumps off the ladder and canadian destroyers Evans. Penta then climbs the ladder and retrieves the title to win.

Thoughts: It was a bit rushed early on like due to being on ESPN. I felt they gave us enough here but a few more minutes would have made the pace a little better. Penta and Rey were the favorites here and Penta pulled it off. It was an entertaining bout with some cool spots and they didn't overdo it or do anything too wildly dangerous. This was good.

WWE United States Title - Sami Zayn (c) vs. Trick Williams

Lil' Yachty does an intro for Trick. Trick is on a rotating box. Trick has a super long jacket that extends the whole ramp and looks like toilet paper.

They trade shots to start. Sami running lariats him and gets booed. Sami hits mounted corner punches. Sami lariats Trick over the top. Trick hits lariats and a leg lariat on Sami. Trick backhands him and jumping neckbreakers him.

Trick uranage's him for 2. Sami facekicks him and blue thunders him for 2. Sami stomps him in the corner then hits mounted shots. Trick is on the ropes and Sami stomps away. Yachty then gets hit from behind by Sami. Yachty is sent into the rails.

Trick is pushed into the post and Sami bangs Trick's head off of it. Sami brainbusters Trick on the apron and Trick lands hard. Sami running helluva kicks him outside. Trick comes in and gets stomped. Yachty grabs Sami and pulls his throat over the top rope. Trick spinning facekicks Sami. Sami rolls up Trick for 2. Sami exploders Trick into the buckles. Trick hits a trick shot knee and wins.

Thoughts: It wasn't exactly the stand out performance Trick needed. Trick got whooped for a lot of this as Sami acted like a heel grizzled vet. It was just average to so-so with Trick winning as expected. I don't know why WWE wants Sami to be heel so bad but it's working and not for the better.

Street Fight - Finn Balor vs Dominik Mysterio

Dom came out on a throne with a bunch of people in Rey Mysterio Sr. masks. Finn came out as The Demon with a fake heart and black and red lights and streamers. He also had pink smoke and a stick with a sharp pointy ball on it. Dom looks scared before the match.

Finn crawls in the ring. Finn takes him down and pounds on him. Finn double chops him down. Finn trips him and stomps him. Finn lariats Dom on the apron. Dom's head is banged off the commentary table. Finn hits Dom with a kendo stick. Finn goes to grab a table and Dom topes him. Dom hits him with a kendo stick.

Dom hits Finn in the gut and back with the chair top. Dom slingshot swantons him. Dom stomps on Finn. Dom is dropped gut first on chairs and takes a slingblade. Dom superkicks Finn. Finn is dropkicked into the ropes and is 619'd. Dom top rope frogsplashes Finn for 1.

Finn final cuts him then shotgun dropkicks him in the corner twice. Finn misses a top rope double stomp and Dom rams a chair into his head for 2. Finn slingblades Dom. Dom superkicks him. Finn is sent into a table in the corner. Dom chairs Finn in the back. Dom 619's a chair into Finn's face. Dom top rope frogsplashes Finn for 2.

Dom chairs Finn. Another slim jim table is brought in. Finn lariats Dom then chairs him. Finn puts a chair around Dom's head and shotgun dropkicks him into the buckles. Dom is put on a table and Finn top rope double stomps him through it. Finn then pins him.

Thoughts
: It was an okay hardcore bout here. There was nothing too memorable but we got some table bumps and some athleticism before going home. I'm curious to see where things go for Dom here. They kind of have to try him in the main at some point and I'm wondering if this is it. This got enough time.

WWE Women's Title - Jade Cargill (c) vs. Rhea Ripley

They have a fan doing commentary for this as he bought an expensive travel package. That's so cheesy to do that at Mania.

Jade has some off entrance outfit on that looks like long hair or cloth curled up.

They lock up and Jade backs her up on the ropes. Jade shoves her and shoulders her over. Jade slams her. Rhea superkicks her in the gut and drops her chest first on the mat. Rhea baseball slides her out. Jader powerslams her for 2. Jade boots her in the corner and throws her out.

Rhea is thrown into the rails. Jade gets a 2 count on Rhea then crossfaces her. Rhea upkicks her. Rhea takes her down and they each hit mounted shots. They trade shots and Rhea flying knees her. Rhea electric chair drops her face first.

Jade hiptosses her then superkicks her. Jade spinebusters her for 2. Rhea rolls her up for 2. Rhea hurricanrana's her. Rhea sliding kicks her. Michin gets on the apron then B-Fab saves Jade from a razor's edge. Rhea misses a corner charge and goes into the post and buckles. Michin boots Rhea in the head. Jade hits an electric chair driver for 2.

Rhea is thrown out. Michin and Fab go for Rhea then Iyo Sky runs down to the ring. Iyo pushes the heels into each other. She shotei's Fab and Mich. Iyo asai moonsaults them outside. Jade is distracted. Rhea headbutts Jade. Jade pump kicks Rhea. Rhea hits riptide on Jade and wins.

Thoughts: It was average as expected. Jade doesn't have a lot of personality or spirit in the ring and along with her average work, it's not super exciting. Rhea won as expected here an Iyo go to make an appearance off of it.

John Cena comes out to talk. He says tonight's attendance is 55,255 and says they drew 106,072 over both nights. He says this concludes his duties as your host and wants to thank everyone.

The Miz interrupts with Kit Wilson. Miz says Cena left a hole in the fans' hearts that he had to fill. Miz says he's the locker room leader now. He says he didn't get his Mania moment last year and won't leave until he gets it tonight. Cena shakes his hand and asks who Kit is. Cena tells Miz to go and have his moment.

Miz goes to talk and Danhausen comes out with midgets in Danhasuen costumes. Dan comes out in a coffin car they call "The Danhausenmobile". The midgets dance in the ring. Dan says he has finally made it to Wrestlemaniahausen. He says he has something to say to Cena. He shakes Cena's hand and says he's a huge fan.

Miz says not to shake Cena's hand. Miz says Cena's turning Mania into a circus. He says if he wanted to see Wizard of Oz, he would have went down the street. Kit calls the midgets toxic and faceshoves one of them. Kit then gyrates. A midget punches Kit in the groin. The midgets then all attack Kit. Dan hits Miz in the crotch. Dan then does his own version of the five knuckle shuffle. Miz is then carried to the back by the midgets. Dan does the "you can't see me" taunt to Cena. He shoots off smoke then we see him crawl under the ring. Cena says the main event is next.

Thoughts: They didn't do much with the host concept here. Cena did two opening speeches and then this only.

World Heavyweight Championship - CM Punk (c) vs. Roman Reigns

Roman gets an opera singer with a band for his entrance. He also has photos of his relatives on the tron. Punk's old misera theme played for his entrance. We saw him sitting on top of the stadium and saw photos of his career. Punk came out, his music cut off and he does his "it's clobberin' time" line. Punk's normal music then hit. Punk has a white jacket on with a Harley Race crown and the names of some people who had passed away.

They stare down and talk. Punk does some basic holds and shoves him. Punk side headlocks him then shoulders him over. They butt heads and shove each other. Punk side headlocks him. Thoughts
: It got a lot of time and was a slower match as expected. I wasn't expecting greatness of these two and I would just say it was okay only. There weren't a lot of huge highlights and I don't think there was a huge story here besides Punk trying to hang out as the underdog and them doing each other's moves. It was a mostly safe match. I'm not thrilled for another Roman title reign. He's not around much at a time when there's few stars and Roman is not great at helping others get over. It also guarantees us more Fatu Family Theater which I'm over.

Overall thoughts:  Night 2 was a very different show from Night 1 and they thankfully seem like they were written by two different people. It was always going to be hard for Night 2 to be worse than Night 1 as that is my pick for the worst Wrestlemania ever. The card for Night 2 was also better than Night 1 with less women's matches and no Pat McAfee. Oba/Brock was a little short. Oba got put over hard and Brock appeared to retire after. It wasn't great but it served a purpose. The ladder match was good as expected. Sami/Trick was average. Finn/Dom was fine. Jade/Rhea was average. The main was just okay only. We didn't get many non-wrestling segments on either night and virtually no interviews or promos to add some last minute excitement. Cena was basically invisible as a host. The endless ads and waiting times between matches made it hard to get hyped and the show was just missing its magic. I'd give Night 2 a low 6 out of 10. I wouldn't recommend it and would just say it was okay only. I thought today's show would probably rank in the lower half of all the Mania's so far. I can't see any reason to ever really come back and watch this again.
