WOW Women of Wrestling 3/29/2025 Season 5, Episode 29

Genesis comes out and is quickly interrupted by Samantha Smart and The Classmaster. Smart says she won't grant Gen a title match. She says she's not in the business of giving out charity matches. She says Class earned the WOW Title and Gen will have to do the same. Smart says she'd prove it and will agree to a match with Gen. McLane asks if that's the case. Smart says no. She says she will give her a non-title match where if Gen wins, she can get a title shot. Gen says it wasn't what she wanted but she will accept. 

Paola Mayfield vs Chantilly Chella

PM pulls her down off the lock-up. She shoulders her over and Chella dances. Chella trips her and side headlocks her. Chella goes up and over then side headlock takeovers her. PM is armdragged twice then Chella armlocks her.

Chella bangs PM's head off the buckles. Abilene Maverick trips up Chella then Chella is thrown off the buckles. PM bangs Chella's head off the mat.

Chella has her arms pulled back. PM hits corner forearms then bangs Chella's head off the buckles. PM dropkicks Chella's butt, sending her head first into the buckles. Chella 2nd rope diving sunset flips her for 2. Chella half crabs her. PM pump kicks her then kicks her in the back. 

Chella gets some shots in. She hits kicks and legsweeps her. Chella then meteora's her. Chella 2nd rope crossbodies PM. PM hits a mcgillicutter and wins.

Thoughts: I was a bit surprised to see PM win, though maybe it's not that surprising. PM's offense wasn't the cleanest here and they didn't have the prettiest match ever. It was just so-so overall.

Abilene Maverick comes in the ring after and hugs PM. Ab tells McLane that PM is good for business and deserves a title match. She says McLane needs to give the people what they want. McLane says Genesis has the next shot. Ab tells McLane to make it happen and McLane says Gen has the next match.

McLane says he has a major announcement coming up after the break that will affect many people.

McLane says we have a four way for the tag titles next with Betty/Jones vs Penelope Pink/Holly Swag vs Aussie/Tormenta vs Miami's Sweet Heat. It'll be one fall.

Holidead vs Sylvia Sanchez

Syl is backed up in the corner off a lockup. Syl's head is rammed into the buckles then Holi shoulders her over. Holi drops her throat first on the ropes then side slams her for 2. Syl side slams her then legdrops her then legdrops the arm.

Syl powerslams her. Holi spinebusters her for the win.

Thoughts: It was pretty short and not much of note. We hadn't seen Sylvia for a while and she lost as expected.

Santana Garrett comes down for commentary in full wrestling gear.

The Classmaster vs Genesis

Class wristlocks her then Gen hammerlocks her. Class side headlock takeovers her. Class ties her legs up and Gen ropebreaks. Gen top wristlocks her and Class hammerlocks her. Gen double cross throat thrusts her and chokes her on the ropes. Gen spin kicks her and hits chest forearms. Class hits chest forearms and corner spears.

Class kicks her in the back then legdrops her between the legs. Gen escapes the scholar collar. Gen legdrops her back. Gen headscissors her. Class ties her leg up and Gen ropebreaks again. Gen boots her in the gut then spinning heel kicks her in the corner. Gen chokes her on the ropes.

Gen hits leg kicks and spinning heel kicks her for 2. Class running facekicks her for 2. Gen spin kicks her for 2. Gen misses a spin kick and takes wasteland. Class wins.

Thoughts: It got a lot of time and was a decent match. It wasn't great but they put in more effort than usual and it had a big match feel to it. I was surprised to see Gen lose and lose cleanly when she could have just won here and lost in the title match. I hope they follow up on this as there has to be a story coming out of this with how Gen has been pushed.

We get a package for the main event.

Top Tier (Coach Campanelli, Kandi Krush and Gloria Glitter) vs Ashley Blaze, Kara Kai and Xena Phoenix 

 

Ashley Blaze doesn't come out with the faces. Kara crossbodies the heels off the apron outside. Xena japanese armdrags and monkey flips Coach. She then hits mounted shots. They do a tug of war over Coach. Coach boots Xena in the corner. Xena takes a double team drop and the ref doesn't count the pin immediately for some reason.

Gitter corner forearms Xena then stomps on her in the corner. Glitter misses a legdrop then boots Xena in the chest for 2. Xena takes a double hiptoss for 2. Coach chinlocks Xena.

Coach boots Xena in the gut then snapmares her. Coach basement dropkicks her. Coach misses an elbow drop. Coach corner lariats Xena then Glitter corner spears Xena. Krush stomps on Xena. Xena codebreakers the arm.

Ashley Blaze comes out on crutches. Kara is tagged in. She trips Coach and front kicks her and Glitter over. Kara snapmares her. Blaze hits Krush while on crutches. Blaze uses the crutch on Glitter and Krush. Coach boots Xena and Xena cradles her for the win.

Thoughts: It was a shorter one here with the faces somehow pulling off the 2x3 win. We'll definitely need an explanation for what happened to Blaze here as Kara and Xena should be mad at her for not even telling them she was on crutches prior to a big mix. The match wasn't too much here and the faces were lucky not to get DQ'd.

Overall thoughts: It was an average show. It was nice to see Genesis vs Classmaster get the time it deserved but that meant 2 other matches got cut short. There wasn't a lot going on outside of the ring on this one and it almost felt like we missed a segment somewhere here. The main was short and average here and we still don't know what happened to Blaze. The opener was so-so. I'd give it a 4 out of 10 overall as I thought it could have been a little better.
