TNA Sacrifice 2025 3/14/2025
Pre-show:
KC Navarro gets on the mic before his match and says pardon me. AJ Francis then gets on the mic. AJ says they are in El Trasho, Texas. He says it's funny that the show is called Sacrifice, as they'd rather sacrifice their own lives than live here as nobody here makes money, money, money. He says if you aren't First Class, you're last. The crowd chants "we can't here you" and he says this place sucks and he hates all of them.

KC flips over Oct and yells in pain on the landing. AJ chokeslams Oct. KC then magically recovers. He eye pokes Kid, twists his mask and hits a running sliced bread to win.
Thoughts: KC's fake injury sell was great here. This was a good opener with some nice dives and the heels winning in a cheap way.
We see Cora Jade arrive earlier.
Gia Miller interviews Arianna Grace. Grace says the women's title match tonight represents the true spirit of competition. She says Cora has stood out and Masha is the champ for a reason. Sami staples him in the chest and is stapled in the arm. Mance gets it in the neck and Sami gets it in the crotch. Sami then gets stapled in the fingers. Sami staples Mance in the crotch.
Sami then staples Mance's tongue to the turnbuckle pad in a wild spot. Sami then splashes Mance. Sami death valley drivers Mance on an open chair for 2. Mance lariats Sami. Mance and Sami fight over a screwdriver. Sami stunners him for 2.
Sami tries to screwdriver Mance and Steph throws powder in Sami's eyes. Mance then running knees Sami and wins.
Thoughts: It was entertaining. I don't know if I've seen a pre-show go into the main show before but that was a clever way to get people interested. I'm sure Mance didn't get his tongue stapled to the top buckle but the spot was cool. This was all hardcore wrestling here.
We then get the intro video for the PPV.
Tessa Blanchard vs Lei Ying Lee
Tess had a female rapper for her entrance.
Tess backs her up in the corner and stomps on her. Tess slaps her in the corner. Lee hits chops. Lee germans her. Lee overhead suplexes Tess. Tess begs off and pulls Lee out.

Tess takes Lee's face and cutters her. Tess top rope diving codebreakers Lee and wins.
Thoughts: It went long and got a little boring at times. The 2nd rope twisting brainbuster was really nasty. It was okay overall and Lee had a better showing than usual but it wasn't great.

Ace kicks Igwe from the apron and evades opponents. Wes takes a double kick from the apron and Trey knee slides into a ddt on Wes on the floor. Wes is surrounded 3v1. Wes takes a lightning spiral + fold combo. The Rascalz do stereo ropes out. ZW spiral taps Wes off the top and wins.
Thoughts: It was a good tag here with lots of flying. The top rope double stomp to the back of the head looked risky and Wes basically got suplexed off the apron but landed on his feet at one point. I liked the fold + lightning spiral combo.
Gia interviews Steve Maclin. Steve says it's the right time for Frankie Kazarian tonight. He says he's calling his shot and it's tag 'em and bag 'em for Kaz.

Kaz grabs brass knucks, Eric Young takes them from Kaz and hits Kaz with them. SM hits a KIA ddt on Kaz and pins him.
Thoughts: They tried but it was made to get excited about this one. Eric Young getting involved was interesting. I liked the spot with Kaz getting thrown out yet still holding onto the chicken wing. It was acceptable just not great.
Spitfire are interviewed by Gia. Jody says they want ot smash the brats tonight and their errand boy. Jody says they won't back down tonight. Dani says George will be their personal punching bag tonight.

Thoughts: It was short and entertaining. George did all kinds of dances that got people riled up and he only came in at certain points. I guess this makes George a women's champ now which is really weird. This was better than a normal match than these would have been.
Meta-Four's Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend come out after.

The Great Hands try to help out Ali and get nailed. Ali springboards and is caught with a sitout powerbomb. Tasha Steelz gets n the apron and hits Mike. Ali ten pins Mike holding the ropes.
Thoughts: Ali really put out some effort here with a top rope 450 to the outside onto Mike's shoulder and he did a tope where he took a cutter. It was an athletic match and maybe a little too flippy at times but I was alright with it.
Ali grabs a beer after and puts it in the ring for Mike.

Thoughts: I didn't like it. The canadian destroyer on the apron should have ended this and it didn't mean much. Cora is just not that great of a worker and this was only going to be so good.

Jeff climbs the ladder and Alisha Edwards kendo stick shots him. Jeff boots her then hits a twist of fate. Moose spears Jeff into a table in the corner and Jeff hits hard. Moose then climbs the ladder and grabs the title to win.
Thoughts: It was ugly with Jeff taking some horrible looking bumps and them taking out a camera. Jeff banged his head off a chair at one point then banged it off a spear into a table on the corner. They tried and it's amazing what Jeff can do at his age and history but it's hard to put this over when there were a bunch of bad moments.
Mike Santana goes up to Santino after. He says he's been doing the right thing since day one and got robbed. He says he needs him. Santino tells him to calm down and agrees. Santino says he will give him a rematch on Impact on a Tuesday (?) where Ali's buddies are banned from ringside.

First Class come out for their First Class Penthouse segment as the cage is set up. They shill merch. They then want to do auditions for First Class Records with audience members. They ask some kid if he wants to audition but then they tell him too bad. AJ says none of them deserve to be here and calls a kid a loser for wearing a Jeff Hardy shirt.
Laredo Kid and Octagon Jr. come out. Oct talks in Spanish. AJ tells him to speak English or go back where he came from. Kid says they are @ssholes. AJ tries a double lariat on them but gets hit. KC gets in AJ's way then refs come out to stop this.
Thoughts: This wasn't good though AJ messing with the kid was funny.

Leon gets 2 counts on the heels. Leon leg lariats a Colon for 2. Nic danger zone's a Colon. Myers is sent int othe cage and takes a standing ovation from Joe. Eli jumps off a chair into a flying knee on Eddie. JDC is dropped crotch first on the top part of the chair. Matt hits a twist of fate on JDC. Matt puts a chair around JDC's neck and hits a twist of fate. Matt then pins him.
Thoughts: It was one of the most generic cage matches ever. There was no blood. There were too many people involved and the cage was too small for them to do much. We really only got one cage dive here and if you were looking for something epic, this was far from it. It was basically a house show cage match. It was okay but it was one of the weakest cage matches I've seen since the 1991 York Foundation cage match.
Nic Nemeth hits a danger zone on Matt after, turning on him. Ryan Nemeth then pounds on Matt. Ryan then locks the cage. Matt takes a move on an open chair. Matt is rammed int othe cage and bleeds. Matt is sent into the cage again. Nic rips at Matt's cut as we go off air.
Overall thoughts: It was an okay show overall. It wasn't great or must see though. The main was really generic and average. Moose/Jeff Hardy had a lot of sloppy and dangerous moments which made it hard to put over. I didn't like Cora/Masha. I liked Santana/Ali. The women's tag title match was entertaining as expected. I liked the tripos match with Wes Lee. Maclin/Kaz was hard to get excited about. Tessa/Lee wasn't that good and I liked Mance/Sami. I also liked the First Class vs Octagon/Laredo Kid pre-show match. I'd give this one a 6 out of 10 overall and thought it was watchable, just not great.
Off topic: IMO if any wrestler wants to learn how to tell a story in a match just watch Goku vs Frieza from Dragon Ball Z from beginning to end. That one fight alone will teach you everything you need to know about hero and villain psychology.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah. DBZ knew how to put on a fight, that's for sure.
DeleteI feel when you're someone like Cora who's clearly not naturally athletic it helps to have charisma and presence which she actually does thankfully because the crowd was more over with her than Masha.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely.
