Note - A whole bunch of wrestlers got released last week. Andre Chase, Dante Chen, Tyra Mae Steele, Malik Blade, Luca Crusifino, Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe are all gone. Saints, Page, Sol, Blake and Hendry also got promoted to the main rosters.

We are in Orlando, FL. Booker T and Vic Joseph are on commentary.

Robert Stone, Shawn Michaels and Matt Bloom (A-Train) talk in the back. Stone talks about all the people leaving and says they have big shoes to fill. Stone say they need one or two fresh faces from Evolve or LFG. Matt says there's a lot of international challenge looking for a shot. Shawn says they did what they were supposed to do. Shawn says he could compile some names or throw a stick of Dynamite in the locker room and see what comes out.

WWE NXT North American Title - Myles Borne (c) vs Sayquon Shugars

SS throws his shirt at the announcer's face while he's doing intros.

SS misses a charge and MB euros him over. SS neckbreakers him. MB release suplexes him then karelin's lifts him. MB powerslams him and SS goes out. MB tope con hilos SS and Osiris Griffin outside. MB is tripped by Cutler and he hits him.

MB misses a dropick inside. SS corner spears him. MB atomic drops him, lariats him and SS flips him into the ropes. SS pulls MB arm first into the exposed turnbuckle connector. SS dropkicks MB through the ropes into the commentary table. 

We go to PiP break and return. MB slingshot sunset flips him. MB hiptosses him. SS elbows MB from behind on the ropes. SS slingshot legdrops MB. SS chin and armlocks MB. 

MB hits shots to SS' gut. MB is sat up top and enzugiri'd. SS goes for top rope backdrop but MB bodypresses him down for 2. They trade pin attempts. MB headscissors him and they bridge up together. MB backslides him. SS is on the 2nd rope and is dropkicked.

MB fisherman suplexes him for 2. Dion Lennox distracts MB. SS flipping northern lights suplexes MB. Dion grabs a chair outside and SS stomps him. Dion asks him what he's doing. MB pushes SS into Dion. MB back body drops SS on the floor and throws Dion into the steps.

MB slingshot zigzag's SS and pins him.

Thoughts: I was surprised to see MB win as I thought he might lose by the end. I have no explanation for why SS stopped Dion from cheating. Shugars wasn't bad here. Like Swerve, he just moves and does things so differently than anyone else.

MB raises his title up after. Tristan Angels congratulates him on a defense. TA says he's Mr. England. He says he's here to let him know he will see much more of him from here on out. Cam Hendrix then nails MB from behind and uranage's him. Cam says this is his show.

Thoughts: Tristan and Cam are both from Evolve. Tristan just debuted.

The WrenQCC Talk about the incoming talents. Kelani Jordan comes up to them. She says Grey got things she didn't deserve. KJ says she tapped out Lola. Grey says KJ got knocked out by Lola in NXT Underground. KJ tells Wren there's no friends in NXT and says Grey will turn on her. Wren tells her to worry about her. KJ challenges Wren for tonight and wants to embarrass her in front of her friends. 

Tony says the more this place changes, the more it stays the same. He says the only thing for sure is that competitors come and go. He says now that he has the title, there isn't anyone who is tough enough to kick him off the mountain. He says he's interested in the box he got last week. He says he knows it's not a gift but a warning.

The lights go out. EVIL of New Japan Pro Wrestling appears. Evil gives Tony a wrapped up shirt. The shirt has the same logo on it that the box Tony got had on it. Evil then leaves.

Tavion Heights runs in and belly to belly suplexes Tony. He says he's coming for everything he deserves and he deserves it all. Will Kroos from Britain then top rope moonsaults Tony.

Thoughts: Whoa, this was a wild one. Tavion Heights is now a heel with a new character. What he was doing wasn't great, so maybe this will be better. Will Kroos is here and Evil has debuted with NXT. Evil is my least favorite wrestler in the world and him leaving NJPW was addition by subtraction. NXT has more and more Euro wrestlers now and it just makes me worried that NXT Europe is not returning. I've only seen Kroos once. He can do some good things for his size but doesn't have a good look.

We see Tatum Paxley and Shiloh Hill at a graveyard with a Blake Monroe grave. TP says she didn't want to do it but she made her. Hill acts like Blake is in the casket in the ground and hopes she finds peace. Tatum says she hopes she finds peace too. TP says she goes into survival mood in situations like this. Hill says TP forms strong attractions to things and people. TP says Hill has a big match with Ricky Saints. Hill says he has seen every match of his and put a simulation together. He says the virtual Ricky is now super lonely. Hill Says he has to go and TP says he will kill it...but no offense to the people in the graveyard. TP then lays down next to Blake's grave.

Thoughts: I don't know if TP saw TV last week, but Blake ain't dead. 

The Birthright come out. King says there's no such thing as a slow news day when you are the fastest man alive (he has the WWE Speed Title). He says his brothers were going to put on a tag clinic but EK will have to prosper all on his own. He says Dorian Van Dux suffered from an accident. We then see that Dux was attacked with a chair by Birthright on the tron.

EK Prosper runs out and attacks Birthright. Sean Legacy comes out and saves EK. The faces send the heels out. 

EK Prosper and Sean Legacy vs The Birthright (Stacks and Uriah Connors)

Stacks rolls Sean. Sean trips him then double stomps his back. Sean dropkicks him. Stacks sunset flips him but Sean rolls out. Sean superkicks Stacks and germans UC. Sean kicks UC in the back for 2. EK top rope double stomps UC's back. EK handsprings then does a double dropkick on the heels. 

EK is tripped as he goes for an asai moonsault outside. UC topes EK. Stacks triangle springboard plancha's Sean outside. We go to PiP break and return.

UC is up top and Sean kicks him. Sean back body drops UC off the 2nd rope. Sean moonsaults into a utopia on him. EK comes in and enzugiri's UC. EK dropkicks Stacks. EK tornado ddt's UC off of Stacks. EK asai moonsuals both opponents. EK michinoku drivers Stacks for 2. 

Stacks enzugiri's Shawn. Stacks lifting flatliners EK. UC top rope swantons EK for 2. Sean back body drops Stacks over the top. UC superkicks Sean out. Sean standing spanish flies UC. EK flying shining wizards Stacks. EK top rope moonsaults Stacks. Sean hits shambles on Stacks and pins him.

Thought: It was a fast paced bout with a ton of action. It was one of the better bouts UC and Sean has had here so far. The crowd got into it and they usually don't react big for these guys. I hope Dorian Van Dux isn't hurt because they clearly like him here.

The Birthright attack the faces after. Tate Wilder from evolve comes out and makes the save. He hits a top rope double dropkick. Tate running ssp's the heels off the apron. The heels are moved back by security.

A bunch of girls are in the locker room. Jaida says NXT's is anyone's for the taking to Thea. Kali Armstrong comes in and says Jaida is scared of competition. Jaida says she's never scared. Thea interrupts and Kali says no one asked her. Kali says she's the difference maker around here and if it starts with checking Jaida, so be it.

We see clips of Shawn Michaels announcing the NXT PLE's will start airing on The CW in the summer.

Thoughts: I liked this move though if it means commercials cut up matches, I don't like that. More people will see the shows this way.

Robert Stone tells Tate Wilder he looks fired up. Tate says he's ready and Stone says welcome to NXT. Lola Vice tells Stone she will call out Izzi Dam.

Lola Vice comes out. She says Izzi said The Culling was always 2 steps ahead. Lola says Izzi thinks she had her moment. She says Izzi can't do anything on her own and will get knocked out when she tries. She says she wants her to come out so everyone can see what she does to her. 

Shawn Spears appears on the tron. He says Lola didn't think this through. He says if Lola wants to hang onto her title, she needs to stay one step ahead like The Culling always is. Niko Vance and Izzi Dame appear in the ring. Mr. Iguana (her AAA Mixed Tag champ partner) then shows up behind then. Iguana hits Niko and Lola superkicks Izzi. Lol spin kicks Izzi out.

Darkstate argue in the back. Shugars says Dion is happy about what happened. Shugars says Dion dirtied him. Dion says he can't believe he cost him the title on purpose. Dion says he gave him half the tag titles and Shugars says it's a participation trophy. Cutler and Griffin yell at them. Cutler says their goal is tag gold and they will go get it. 

Lizzy Rain vs Nikkita Lyons

This is Lizzy Rain's WWE TV debut. She gets some blow up flames and talks on the mic beforehand about how rock and roll won't die. Lyons does a taped promo. She says Rain's heavy metal vibe is too loud and messes with her frequency. She says she won't let girls jump the line with all these opportunities going around.

They lock up. NL knees her in the gut and throws her down backwards. Rain kips up and throws her down backwards. Rain corner chops her. NL hits her in the gut then Rain springboard back elbows her. Rain is caught off the 2nd rope and NL throws her. NL spin kicks her in the face then hits mounted shots.

NL split leg drops her. NL flying forearms Rain in the corner then bangs her head off the buckles. NL chest kicks her down for 2. NL cobra clutches her. Rain boots her off the ropes. Rain high kicks her. Rain hits lariats. Rain limbos out of a lariat and cutters her. 

Rain chop flurries her in the corner. NL superkicks her then michinoku drivers her for 2. NL stomps on Rain. NL misses a vader bomb. Rain running headbutts her. Rain does a neat step up downward kick on NL and pins her.

Thoughts: Rain is a different and she may be different enough to work. You know exactly what she is just by looking at her and that's always helpful. This wasn't bad and the crowd was into this. Rain has a lot of energy.

Myles Borne is in the locker room. Tavion Heights goes up to him. Borne asks what him attacking Tony was about. Tav says he was creating opportunities. Borne says that's not him. Tav says he did the same thing to Ethan Page. Borne says he caught him by surprise. He says NXT is wide open and we got all the guys coming. Tav says you can add him to the list.

Keanu Carver comes up to Borne. He says this place is full of circling sharks but he's the great white.

The Vanity Project. Drake wishes Smokes happy birthday. Brad says him and Smokes got the tag division on lockdown and it's time for Drake to stand out. Drake says he feels like he's on top of the world after last week. Jasper Troy comes up to him. He says he's got a wide mouth and has nothing to show for it. He says he's worried about dating apps when he should be worried about gold. He says how about they have a date next week?

Thoughts: This was interesting as Troy looks so much bigger than Drake but face to face, he had about 1-2 inches tops on him.

Kelani Jordan vs Wren Sinclair

KJ waistlock takedowns her. They trade pin attempts. Wren trips her and hooks her leg. Wren hammerlocks her. KJ side headlock takeovers her. Wren headscissors her. Ricky Saints is warming up in the back. KJ leglocks her and Wren side headlocks her. They trade pins. KJ tiger feint armdrags her then dropkicks her. 

KJ boots Wren in the corner. Wren back elbows KJ. Wren shoulders her over and bangs her face off the mat for 2. Wren spin kicks her out of the ring. Wren dropkicks her off the apron. We go to PiP break and return. 

Wren boots KJ away. Wren cradles her for 2. KJ clips her. Wren hits chops and lariats on her. Wren corner lariats her and double underhook suplexes her for 2. Wren backrolls her for 2. KJ springboard cutters her. KJ top rope splashes and Wren gets her knees up. Wren does cattle mutilation but her leg gives out. KJ angle slams her. KJ split legged moonsaults her and pin her.

Thoughts: They pushed Wren's knee as being the big story here but I didn't think they did enough of it. Some of the wrestling in the beginning was interesting. I'd say it was about average. 

We get a video on Zaria. She says Sol was a thing of beauty from a distance but drowned her up close. There's all kinds of AI graphics for this. Zaria says she doesn't make compromises. She says she burned through her tide until she evaporated. She says she will scorch everyone and everything in her way.

Ricky Saints vs Shiloh Hill

RS pounds on Hill. He hits strikes in the corner and foot chokes him. Hill hits punches and RS knees him in the gut. Hill's head is banged off the buckles then RS' head is too. RS back elbows him then stomps him. Hill hits punches. RS is put on the top rope and Hill pounds on him. Hill knee lifts him down to the floor.

RS 619's him under the bottom rope outside. Hill goes under the ring. RS tries to pull him out but it's a dummy. Hill cannonballs him off the steps then puts the dummy on the rail. We go to PiP break and return.

RS spinning ddt's him for 2. RS boots him. Hill tilt-a-whirl slams him. Hill drops him with forearms and spinning powerslams him for 2. RS jawbreakers him and Hill headbutts him down. Hill standing inverted flipping sentons him. RS grabs a sleeper. RS hits a big spear for 2.

They trade shots. Hill pop up forearms him then standing inverted flipping sentons him for 2. RS pushes the ref. RS top rope jackhammers him for 2. RS slaps the tooth out of Hill's mouth. RS rope walks and Hill crotches him. Hill shakes the rope under him and makes him ride the rope. Hill boots him out. Hill is dropped face first on the steps. RS roshambo's him outside. 

RS grabs a chair. The ref takes it from him. Hill trips RS into the chair then Hill backdrop neckbreakers him. Hill then pins him.

Thoughts: Hill won. I figured he had a good shot here as RS is leaving NXT and it won't hurt him. Hill continues to remain a different guy. He's got something, just he's very unique. Hill's spot with the dummy was a new one and I can say I never saw that before. It was a decent main.

Hill celebrates in the crowd after. 

Tony D'Angelo goes up to Shawn Michaels in the back after. Tony say the sharks got one on him tonight but he likes the chaos. Shawn says Tony is the NXT champ and it's time to prove it.

Overall thoughts: It was a wild NXT with 2 new surprise debuts, Rain's in-ring WWE TV debut Tavion turning heel, Hill getting big win over Saints and just tons of chaos all around. This is basically new version of NXT as the Trick/Evans/Oba era is over and now so is the Saints/Page/Hendry era as well. We had some good wrestling to back the madness up and I'd give this an easy 7 out of 10. You definitely will want to see this show as things are going to look different from here on out. It was a good show.
