AAA on Fox 4/11/2026

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2026/04/aaa-on-fox-442026.html

We are in Mexico City, Mexico. Corey Graves, JBL and Rey Mysterio are on commentary.

We see various wrestlers arrive.

Las Toxicas are in the ring with a cake and some balloons and photos for Lady Flammer. They put Flammer over and say she has been champ for over 900 days and destroyed all opponents in her way. They tell her to get ready to receive the greatest of all times.

Lady Flammer comes out. They greet her and show a video package that was made for her. Martha Villalobos, JBL, Konnan Big (no, not the WCW Konnan), Rossy Moreno and some non-wrestlers put her over in the video. Flammer says earth and the fans don't deserve her. She thanks everyone who congratulated her but says she doesn't know any of them. She thanks all the women she beat that are good for nothing. She thanks all the WWE wrestlers ad the Mexican women that she had humiliated, stepped on and destroyed like Lady Tormenta, Chika Tormenta and Faby Apache.

Flammer says this leads her here as the best luchadora in the history of lucha libre. She says she beat everyone and there is no one left. She says she's undeniable, untouchable and says this coronation will never end.

The lights go out. We see someone driving in a car and it's La Catalina of CMLL. La Catalina comes out.

Catalina congratulates Flammer. She says she's the longest reigning champ, the most beautiful and the most sexy. She says today is her biggest day. She says she knows all 3 of them and says she hopes they enjoy their party. She says Flammer hasn't ever faced her. One of Las Toxicas goes to hit her. Catalina then ends up fighting with Las Toxicas. She then bangs Flammer's head into the cake. She throws her over a table into photos. Catalina then holds up the Reina de Reina Title.

Thoughts:
Catalina was a bit of a jerk here as she invaded Flammer's party and called her a perra. Flammer and her crew weren't nice, but she wasn't much better. Cat did look like a star here though and Flammer took a nice bump on the throw.

El Grande Americano Original vs Octagon Jr.

They both compete for cheers. Grande grabs his arm. Oct flips off the ropes and armdrags him. Oct rolls and they stand off. Grande goes out to stall. Grande boots and chops him. Oct 2nd rope reverse headscissors him. Oct walks up the buckles and springboard dropkicks him. Oct topes him.

Oct misses an asai moonsault then Grande running forearms him outside. Oct is sent into the steps. Grande hits chops then forearms him over. Grande unties Oct's mask. Oct walks up the buckles and top rope tornillos him. Oct step up enzugiri's him. Oct flying leg lariats him in the corner for 2.

Oct headstands on the top rope, goes for a splash and Grande gets his feet up. Grande exploders him into the buckles. Grande goes for a moonsault but grabs an ankle lock off of it. Grande then unmasks Oct and keeps the hold on. Oct taps out and Grande wins.

Thoughts: They messed up the finish here. Pulling a mask off in lucha is a DQ yet it was not here. Even Rey questioned it. I know it's WWE's version of AAA, but you have to respect that rule. I think something happened here. Oct kind of looked knocked out of it near the end and they ended the match soon after. It wasn't as fast paced as you would think and Oct was a little slower than usual.

Grande dances with the mask after.

The Mexican female host talks to a singer named Lintzy. She picks Penta to win. Ojitos de Huevo, a comedian who has some kind physical issues with his eyes (as his name suggests), starts talking. Grande grabs him, throws him over the rail and ankle locks him on the floor. Grande goes after the host. El Grande Americano II comes out and jumps on him. They fight and collide heads hard. Grande II hits more headbutts and then headbutts him on the commentary table. He chokes him and Grande I rakes his eyes. Grande I then low blows him. Grande I drops him on the commentary table. Security then come down to break this up. Grande I then jumps on him on the commentary table and security tries to stop them again. Grande II flying headbutts him and they fight up the aisle.

Thoughts:
This is where some of the weaknesses with them not translating everything comes in. I don't know what Ojitos said, but they didn't translate it and that's a problem since Grande attacked him over it. The brawl was very good though with Grande II blasting Grande I with flying headbutts.

WWE Intercontinental Title Match - Penta (c) vs. El Hijo del Vikingo

They compete for cheers. Penta waistlocks him. Penta side headlocks him. Vik backrolls and is kicked in the gut. Vik rolls him up for 2 then Penta flying headscissors him. Vik corkscrew headscissors him. Vik goes for a tope and Penta gorilla press throws him onto the commentary table in a cool spot.

Vik dropkicks him from somewhere onto the floor. Vik ties Penta's mask to the bottom rope. Vik stands on Penta on the bottom rope. Vik superkicks him for 2. Vik pulls back on Penta's leg then bites the foot. Vik camel clutches him with fish hooks.

Vik hits forearms and double axe handles. Penta facebusters him. Penta enzugiri's him in the corner. Penta headstand double pendulum dropkicks him in the corner. Penta is sat on the 2nd rope. Vik top rope double stomps him down for 2.

They trade forearms on their knees then trade chops. Penta leg kicks him. Vik goes for a handspring and is dropkicked for 2. Vik corner meteora's him. Vik does an inverted flip off the top to nothing and basically powerbombs himself down with Penta's help.

Vik standing spanish flies him. Vik top rope double stomps him for 2. They trade shots. Vik is on the 2nd rope and is superkicked. Penta takes a poisonrana on the apron. Vik running ssp's him off the apron onto the floor. El Grande Americano I and II come out and fight on the ramp. Security gets them to the back. Penta tope con hilos Vik. Penta hits a made in Japan for 2.

Dorian Roldan trips Penta and gets on the apron. The ref kicks out Dorian. Mini Vikingo comes out and grabs the title belt Vikingo was going to use on Penta. Mini hits Vik with the belt then Penta springboard canadian destroyers Vik to win.

Thoughts: Penta won as expected. I'm not a big fan of either of these guys in the ring. I knew what to expect going in. It wasn't quite as bad of a no sell fest as expected but they did too much and it wasn't for me. Vik's top rope inverted flip spot was dumb. I did like Mini Vikingo coming out though as that continues that feud.

Hijo yells at Mini after. Grande 1 and Grande 2 then reappear and the fight continues with security trying to break them up. They fight at ringside then in the ring.

Grande 2 gets on the mic after and his eyebrow is busted open. He says Grande 1 crossed the line. He says this has to be fixed the bad way with an eye for an eye and blood for blood. he then challenges him to a mask vs mask match.

Thoughts:
We knew this was ending in a mask vs mask match and the question was just how long it would take. Grande 1 (Gable) should absolutely lose that one.

Overall thoughts:
The opening segment was mostly fine. Grande/Octagon wasn't that great as I think Octagon may have gotten knocked out during it. Penta/Vikingo was a match I knew I wouldn't like on paper. It wasn't as bad as I expected but it wasn't for me. The Grande vs Grande stuff was good though as was Mini Vikingo getting involved in the main. I'd give it a 5 out of 10 as the bookers had the right idea but they couldn't control what went on in the ring. It was okay overall.
