CMLL 4/17/2026 Viernes Espectacular

The announcer talks before the show and has 5 trophies and a title belt with him.

Magia Blanca, Rey Pegasus & Tornado vs. Kimba, Tenochca & Vegas Depredador

Veg side headlocks MB and they fight for a top wristlock. MB trips him. MB casadora armdrags him. MB spinning headstand headscissors him from the apron. Tor comes in and dropkicks Ten in the knee. Tor standing corkscrew headscissors him. Kimba comes in.

Kimba springboard twisting crossbodies Tor then superkicks him out. Rey springboard crossbodies Kimba. Rey hits kicks then walks up the buckles, rope walks and drop down springboard diving headscissors him. Veg trips Rey into the buckles then Veg spinning ddt's him. MB basement dropkicks Veg.

MB double jump twisting headscissors Veg out. Ten boots MB out of the corner then springboard diving headscissors him. Ten 2nd rope tilt-a-whirl armdrags him. MB is held for a top rope dropkick to the butt. 

Tor is held in the corner. Kim jumps off his partners back and dropkicks him. Tor takes a top rope double stomp to the back of the head. Tor is in tree of woe and is triple basement dropkicked. MB is popped up into a headscissors on Veg. Tor then springboard dropkicks Ten out.

MB's team hits triple topes outside. Veg's team then does triple dives outside. Veg is on the 2nd rope and takes a razor's edge from MB. Kimba breaks it up. Kimba crucifix bombs MB for 2. Tor springboard guillotine legdrops Kimba. Ten does a spinning muscle buster to Tor. Ren cradle shocks Ten for 2. 

MB pop-up slams Rey. Tor is put up top. Rey botches a springboard move on Veg. Tor takes a double superplex then MB top rope double splashes Kimba and Ten. Tor is popped up and does a double Japanese armdrag. Tor's team climbs up top together and does triple moonsualts outside. Kimba takes an electric chair crucifix driver and is pinned by Rey.

Thoughts: It wasn't that good. There were a lot of sloppy moments here and everyone was still getting used to working with each other. It was also also a longer bout so they had more time to botch various things. 

Keyra vs. Garra Negra

Key bangs Garra's head off the buckles and kicks her in the butt and the genitals. Key lariats her from behind and chops her. Key fish hooks Garra and boots her in tree of woe. Key then stomps on her. Key corner lariats Garra. 

Key chop flurries Garra. Key lariats her then Garra legswepes her. Key powerbombs her. Key running boots her. Key foot chokes Garra. Key hits forearms and chops. Garra fights back with forearms and chops. Garra dropkicks her then topes her. Garra top rope crossbodies Key but Key cattle mutilation's her. Key camel clutches Garra and slaps her there.

Key la magistrals Garra. Garra flips out of a hiptoss and takes her down. Garra headscissors her with an armlock. Garra pulls Key's arms back and shakes her head around. Key then does a headscissors + armlock. Garra's head is banged off the buckles. Key shoves her boot in her face. 

They trade chops on the apron. Key spanish flies her off the apron to the floor. Key is on the 2nd rope and Garra electric chair drivers her for the win.

Thoughts: It was an interesting match. They were pretty aggressive with each other and roughed each other up. There were a lot of stiff shots here and they put over that they didn't like each other well. It was different but the work was decent and I was fine with this one. This was 100% not a regular lucha match with flips and armdrags.

Los Viajeros Del Espacio (Futuro, Max Star & Valiente Jr.) vs. Galeon Fantasma (Barboza, Difunto & Furia Roja)

1st Fall - Barb and Max go at it. They trade basic holds. Max flips out of a snapmare and they stand off. Fut and Roja go at it. Roja throws him down then is armdragged. Roja shoulders him over then is armdragged. Roja pops him up and is armdragged. Roja retreats to the ramp. 

Val and Dif go at it. Val flips over him and off of him. Val rolls him into a splash for 2. Val walks up the ropes, rolls on the top rop and gets hit by Barb. Val is then triple stomped on. Val is triple popped up but kind of armdrags Dif off of it. Max is double flipped into the ropes and does a double armdrag off of it. Max and Val do stereo step up tope con hilos outside. Fut basement dropkicks Dif then top rope moonsaults him. Futuro pins Difunto. Futuro's team wins the fall. 

2nd Fall -  Barb chops Max down and Mox chops back. Max tilt-a-whirl satellite headscissors Barb. Max kicks the buckle into Dif's head. Max springboard flips into an armdrag on Dif. Max pulls Roja down off a leapfrog. Max top rope diving headscissors him. Fut spinning headscissors Dif. Dif backrolls and headscissors Roja down. 

Fut dropkicks Barb out of the ring. Fut is caught on a dive outside and held for a Dif double stomp off the apron. Roja knee lifts Val. Val is pop up dropped then takes a Roja spear. Barb is popped up into a double stomp on Val. Roja corner cannonballs Max and Val in the corner. Fut's springboard is caught then he is triple gorilla press thrown into his partners. Barb's team gets triple pins. Difunto's team wins the fall. 

3rd Fall - Val takes corner attacks then a triple basement dropkick. Fut gets hit from behind. Fut takes corner attacks. Fut is held for a top rope Dif double stomp. Val is triple stomped. Val springboard headscissors Roja out then Barb and Dif get stereo diving headscissors. Fut and Max then hit stereo top rope moonsaults outside. 

Val tornado ddt's Roja. Val takes a pop up cutter from Barb. Max enzugiri's Barb in the corner then top rope headscissors him down. Dif walks up the ropes and springboard crossbodies Max. Fut top rope spanish flies Dif. The heels hold and pose on Val then Fut breaks it up with a springboard diving headscissors. Fut topes Dif outside then Val and Max hit stereo headscissors. Max and Val hit 619's then they do do a springboard splash and swanton for 2.

Val throws Max up into a tope con hilo outside on the heels. Val 2nd ropetornillos the heels outside. Fut top rope crossbodies Dif then powerslams him. Fut misses a 450 off the top. Dif belly to belly overhead suplexes Fut into the ropes. Dif rope walk dropkicks Fut in the corner. Dif then pins Fut. Difunto's team wins the fall and match.

Thoughts: It got a lot of time and it was a bit hard to tell the faces apart. Difunto was entertaining as always with his flying and the faces flew a fair bit as well. I think if they took about 7 minutes off of this, it probably would have been good. I'd say it was above average to acceptable. 

Los Guerreros Laguneros (Gran Guerrero, Stuka Jr. & Ultimo Guerrero) vs. Los Infernales (Averno, Euforia & Mephisto)

1st Fall - Stuka gets triple booted as he comes in then Gran gets it too. Av punches out UG on the ramp then whips him with an article of clothing. Av double boots Stuka out of the corner. UG gets triple teamed. Everyone goes out. UG is crotched on the rail and Euf running lariats him into the front row. Gran is sent into the rails.

Euf suplexes Stuka in then Stuka is thrown out. UG is triple stomped on. UG takes a triple powerbomb and Av pins him. Averno's team wins the fall.

2nd Fall - UG's team is beaten up on the ramp. Gran gets triple teamed and has his mask untied. Euf bites Gran's fingers and head. Stuka is spinebustered then double flapjacked. UG is chopped by Av. Av stomps on him in the corner. UG's legs are split. 

Euf kicks Gran in the leg. Gran makes a comeback, sending the heels into each other. He dropkicks Euf then baseball slides Meph out. UG is popped up into a splash on the rails on Meph outside. Gran is popped up into a la silla on a bridged Euf inside. Av then gets it on the ramp.

Av takes a 2nd rope double gorilla press slam. Stuka top rope splashes Av and pins him. Ultimo Guerrero's team wins the fall.  

3rd Fall - Euf beats up Av on the ramp. Euf is sunset flipped into a triple boot. Gran gordbusters Euf onto Meph. UG is triple stomped on by the heels. UG double japanese armdrags the heels then he lariats Av. Stuka flying headscissors Meph. Stuka pushes Euf into Av. Stuka wasteland's Meph. Stuka does a rare top rope moonsault outside. UG then top rope dives on the heels outside. Gran top rope crossbodies Meph. Gran 2nd rope cradle shocks Meph and pins him. Ultimo Guerrero's team wins the fall and match.

Thoughts: It ran a little long. The first half was all Los Infernales beating up on UG's team then the roles reversed in the second half. The work was fine and it made sense but it dragged. Stuka busted out a rare top rope moonsault here. It was just acceptable.

CMLL 2026 Universal Tournament Semi Final Nine Man Elimination Match - Felino Jr. vs. Guerrero Maya Jr. vs. Black Tiger vs. Akuma vs. Esfinge vs. El Cobarde vs. Capitan Suicida vs. Hijo de Stuka Jr. vs. Calavera Jr. I

Stuka beats up Cal then Maya joins in as wrestlers make their entrances. Cal tope con hilos Stuka outside. May walks up the buckles and springboard diving armdrags Fel. Maya topes outside and Cob springboard crossbodies Akuma. Cob is then back body dropped into the ring. 

Cob boots Akuma out of the corner then top rope dropkicks him. Cob top rope moonsaults Akuma outside. Tiger powerbombs Cob on the rails. Cap jumps over the top and headscissors tiger off the apron. Esf springboard diving headscissors Akuma. Esf springboard plancha's Akuma. 

Stuka dropkicks Maya. Maya tilt-a-whirl backbreakers Stuka twice. Maya bulldogs Stuka then armdrags him out. Cal comes in and gamengiri's Fel. Fel overhead throws Cal by the arm. Fel and Cal trade armdrags. Cal standing moonsaults him. 

Cob and Cap go at it. Cap flips over him then corkscrew armdrags him. Esf and Tiger go at it. They each hit corner lariats. Esf superkicks Tiger then topes him. Akuma catches Cal's springboard. Cal chops him and Akuma hits a big spear. Cob is facebustered by Akuma.

Cal goes up and over Akuma then Akuma dropkicks him for 2. Cal is powerbombed by Akuma off a flying headscissors attempt. al basement dropkicks him. Cal then springboard diving armdrags Stuka on the ramp. 

Cap springboard diving headscissors Akuma. Cal rope walk moonsaults Akuma outside. Maya chops Fel down. Fel spin kicks him in the gut. Maya chops Fel and Fel chops Maya down. Fel is double teamed in the corner. Fel step up enzugiri's Maya in the corner. Stuka gets on Cob's and Fel's shoulders and he splashes Maya for 2. Stuka tries it again and Cap springboard cutters him. Maya rainmakers Cob and lariats Fel. Cap corkscrew headscissors Maya down. Cap hurricanrana's Stuka for 2.

Stuka slingshot tornillo's Cap. Cob walks up the ropes, flips over Tiger then dropkicks him. Cob top rope diving headscissors Tiger. Cob tope con hilos Tiger. Maya spears Esf from the side. Maay chops Esf. Esf is up top and Maya armdrags him down for 2. Maya sitout gordbusters Esf. Maya top rope crossbodies Esf and Esf backrolls through to pin him. Guerrero Maya Jr. is eliminated.

Stuka and Cal stomp on Esf. Esf is dropped onto Stuka's knees. Cal raises Stuka's hand then kicks him in the gut. Stuka takes a razor's edge into the buckles. Cal walks up the buckles and top rope mooonsaults Stuka for 2. Stuka overhead throws Cal for 2. Stuka spinning cut throat torture rack drops Cal for 2. Cal sunset flips Stuka then powerbombs him. Cal springboard swantons Stuka for 2. Tiger then comes in and pounds on Cal. Tiger full-nelson side slams Cal. He then 619's Stuka and Cal together. Akuma facekicks Tiger on the ramp. Tiger then monkeyflips Akuma into a 450 on Stuka and Cal. 

Stuka spears Tiger on the ramp. Akuma muscle busters Tiger for 2. Tiger dropkicks Akuma. Tiger is pulled over the top then Akuma tope con hilos him. Fel back elbows Cap then powerslams him for 2. Cap corner lariats Fel and superkicks him. Fel pop up drops Cap then suplexes him for 2.Cap rolls into a cutter on Fel. Cap top rope twisting swantons Fel and pins him. Felino Jr. is eliminated.

Cap satellite spinning headscissors Akuma. Cap superkicks Akuma. Cap top rope reverse topes Cal outside. Esf springboard splashes Akuma and pins him. Akuma is eliminated.

Cob flying headscissors Esf. Cal sunset flips Cob for 2. Cal victory rolls Cob for 2. Cal hammerlock double underhook suplexes Cob. Cal goes for a pin on Cob but Cob rolls him up for 2. Cob spinning cradle shocks Cob and pins him. Calavera Jr. I is eliminated. 

Tiger slingshot swantons Cob then pounds on him. Cob hits kicks on Tiger then standing moonsaults him for 2. Tiger low codebreakers Cob. Tiger tiger drivers Cob and pins him. El Cobarde is eliminated.

Stuka gets a 2 count on Tiger. Tiger cutters Cap then Stuka top rope splashes Tiger. Cap does a top rope splash on Esf and Stuka/Tiger/Cap/Esf are all down. Esf is put in tree of woe in front of Tiger and Stuka overhea belly to belly suplexes Cap into him. Cap takes a 2nd rope overhead throw from Stuka for 2. Cap flies over the top from the ramp with a cutter on Stuka. Cap top rope twisting swantons Stuka and pins him. Hijo de Stuka Jr. is eliminated.

Esf monkey flips Cap and Tiger. Esf topes Tiger. Esf springboard splashes Cap and pins him. Capitan Suicida is eliminated.

We are down to Esfgine and Black Tiger. Esfinge topes Tiger. Esf springboard splashes him then misses a second one. Tiger throws him down backwards and tiger drivers him. Black Tiger wins.

Thoughts: It got a lot of time as expected. I wouldn't say anyone's best work. They did do enough though and got a decent bit of flying in this. It wasn't super fast paced and there were no real crazy spots. Tiger got the win here as he's under a new gimmick and they wanted to put it over. He was also one of the few main event level guys in this so he had an edge over the others. It was good.

Tiger holds up Esfinge's arm and rips his mask off after.

Overall thoughts: The opener had a lot of sloppy moments and went longer than it needed to. Keyra/Garra was more of a fight than a match and while it wasn't traditional lucha, they did a decent job with it. Max Star's match was acceptable. They did what they were supposed to in the semi-main but this also went long and the heels controlled the first half while the faces controlled the second half. I liked the main event. It wasn't super spectacular and there wasn't a lot of craziness. But, nobody botched, we got enough flying and they gave enough here. CMLL had a bunch of its stars out for this as they were in Vegas but any quality issues were really on the booker's end. I'd give it a very low 6 out of 10. It was enough but nothing great and I'd say it was okay overall.
