Note - WWE released a whole bunch of Evolve wrestlers last week. Tyra Mae Steele, Aria Bennett, Trill London, Tyson Dupont, Tyriek Igwe, Luca Crusifino and Malik Blade are gone. Tyra and Trill getting cut was shocking and I was surprised by Dupont and Igwe as well. As I had said, they started bringing a bunch of new people in and it meant a bunch of people were going to get cut. Trill looked like a major prospect to me and WWE seemed to really like Tyra.

We are at the Performance Center in Orlando, FL. Blake Howard and Peter Rosenberg are on commentary.

Harlem Lewis talks to open the show. He says he waited months for this and had a goal in mind to become Evolve champ. He says Drake and Rourke took their time to name him as an opponent. He says nothing will stop him from dropping Aaron and Cole tonight. He says tonight is his moment. He says he will pick up the mantle of being a destructive champ as Kali Armstrong exists Evolve tonight. Lewis says he takes the next step tonight.

Kali Armstrong vs Tyra Mae Steele

This is Kali's final Evolve match. This may also be Tyra's last match depending on where we are at in the taping schedule.

They lock up twice and Kali shoves her away. They mat wrestle. Tyra rolls her over for 2. Tyra side headlocks her then Kali reverses it. Kali shoulders her over then hiptosses her. Kali dropkicks her and side headlock takeovers her. Tyra headscissors her on the mat.

Kali side headlocks her. Tyra up and over hip attacks her. Tyra waistlock takedowns her. Kali hits punches. Tyra tries an up and over and is thrown out. Kali's baseball slide is blocked. Tyra knee drops the leg on the apron and twists her ankle. We go to break and return.

Kali hits some shots. Tyra karelin's lifts her twice and throws her into the ropes, making her hit her foot off the ropes. Tyra knee drops Kali's ankle then pulls on it. Tyra is pushed out. Kali escapes a suplex then lariats her.

Kali back elbows her then spinebusters her for 2. Kali hits a corner spear. Tyra rolls her up off a slam attempt for 2. Tyra ankle locks her. Kali sunset flips her for 2. Tyra ankle locks her again. Kali powerslams her. Kali flying shoulders her and pins her.

Thoughts: It was one of Tyra's better matches as she stuck to ankle work and amateur wrestling. Kali then overcame the ankle work and won. This was a decent match. 

Kali talks after and gets a "Thank you, Kali" graphic. She says she was born here and showed everyone she's not the one to play with. she says she carried the brand on her back. She says she made history and says she will always be the first ever Evolve Women's champ. She says nobody can take that from her. She says she built this place and now it's time she lets others live in it. She says she's going to make history up in NXT. She says it's all gas and no breaks until she gets hers.

It's GAL is outside at a pond. He says nobody ever asks how he is. He says people think he is a just a big red machine but he has feelings too. Gal says he has stood out since Day 1 but it's a lonely game. He says sometimes he just wants to fit in. He says he has lost partners, been ignored by Team PC and got laughed at. He says even Thatcher doesn't understand him. He asks if they are the dummies or if he is the dummy. He asks where he goes from here and says it's time to peak like he hasn't before.

Romeo Moreno vs Chazz "Starboy" Hall

Max Abrams gets on the mic before it starts. He has Ball, Santi and Valor with him. They get in the ring. Max says they respect Star's game. He tells Star to make the best decision of his life and join the ID 2.0 squad. Star says he's proud to be part of the new ID crew but he's not feeling them. Santi asks if he's saying no to rolling with them. Romeo says him and Star will have a match and tells them adios. Ball then nails Romeo and Romeo is stopped by ID 2.0. Star backs them off. Star then gets beaten up. Valor pop-up spinebusters Star. The segment ends without the match ever happening.

Braxton Cole is reading a book in the back to get ready.

We hear from Timothy Thatcher. Tim says Kali Armstrong has been promoted to NXT. 2 new wrestlers interrupt. They say they deserve an opportunity. Tim says he appreciates the passion. He says they are doing good in training. He says it's about time, place and need. He says he needs security and that's the job he has got. He says he can't have Max Abrams' crew causing trouble and says that's the job he has.

Tristan Angels says to be the face of Evolve is to be the face of WWE. He says he wants to control the title. He says there is only one who can handle the pressure and says he has no holes in his game. He says he's "Mr. England" Tristan Angels.

Masyn Holiday and Layla Diggs vs Anya Rune and Gianna Capri

Rune and Diggs go at it. Rune side headlock takeovers her. Mas dropkicks Rune for 1. Capri tags in. Mas back splashes her in the corner. Diggs forward handspring spears Capri. Mas butt drops Capri for 2.

Capri forearms Mas and hits knees to the gut. Capri foot chokes her in the corner. Capri stomps Mas' back. Rune running corner euros Mas then high kicks her. Capri chinlocks Mas. Diggs comes in and cleans house. She leg lariats Capri and step up enzugiri's Rune. 

Diggs fallaway slams Rune then kips up into a split. Diggs backflips out of a lariat and overhead kicks Rune. Capri pulls Mas out and bangs her head off the apron. Diggs scissors kicks Rune and pins her.

Thoughts: I'm not a big fan of Rune and Capri losing here so early into their run. Diggs had one of her best matches in a while as she was moving well and didn't botch. It was acceptable.

Capri tells Rune she ruined this for her as Masyn and Diggs dance in the ring.

Laynie Luck and Wendy Choo are interviewed by Chuey Martinez. Luck says this is the biggest match of her career and she won't take it lightly. She says she doesn't know what version of Choo she will get and won't let her guard down. Choo says her path has been all over the place. She says she's finally herself and won't change anytime soon. She says she meant what she said when she wanted someone with a similar path to her. She says Luck is a getting a title shot, but not her title. She says the era of Champ Choo is just beginning.

Cappuccino Jones talks to Romeo Moreno and Chazz Hall in the back. Romeo says he was feeling good. Hall says he would have gotten starstruck if they fight. Cap says he's sick of people thinking they can do anything they want here. Hall says ID 2.0 is making the new guys look bad. Cap says they need to get the up on them before they get the up on us. Cap says if he will see about getting a 6-man tag.

Aaron Rourke talks before the next match. He says he's not afraid of this atmosphere. He says he thrives in pressure and says all eyes will be on him. He says it's time he steals the spotlight.

WWE Evolve Title - Aaron Rourke (c) vs Harlem Lewis vs Braxton Cole

Cam Hendrix and Harley Riggins are in the VIP Lounge. 

Cole nails Lewis from behind. Cole slams AR. Lewis slams Cole. AR step up enzugiri's Cole. AR headscissors Lewis into a russian legsweep. AR handspring kicks Cole off the apron. Lewis blocks a senton with his knee and backbreakers AR on his shoulders.

AR kicks Lewis off the ropes. Cole pushes AR off the top onto the top rope. Lewis misses a lariat and goes out. We go to break and return. Cole punches AR then back elbows him. Cole release suplexes AR for 2. Cole forearms Lewis off the apron. 

AR hits shot to Cole's gut. Cole cravates him then knees him in the face. Cole garvin stomps AR. Lewis flying knees Cole. AR knees Lewis in the face. Lewis pulls AR into the buckles. Cole backbreakers Lewis then hits mounted shots.

Cole slams Lewis for 2. Cole legdrops him. Lewis hits a big lariat on Cole. Lewis lariats Cole from behind. Lewis basement dropkicks Cole for 2. AR facekicks Lewis, making him ddt Cole. AR dropkicks Lewis in the knee then pump kicks him in the head.

AR hits corner attacks on both opponents. AR backcrackers Cole. Lewis is hurricanrana'd off the buckles. AR diving codebreakers Cole for 2. Lewis and AR are on the buckles. Brooks Jensen is watching in the front row. We get a tower of doom with AR going down.

AR cradles Cole for 2. AR spinning heel kicks Cole and sends him out. AR hits strikes on Lewis. Lewis facekicks him. AR forearms him. Lewis flips AR onto his gut. Lewis jackhammers AR for 2 when Cole breaks it up. Cole sends Lewis into the rails. Cole crotches Lewis on the rail top.

AR topes Cole. AR molly go round's Cole and pins him.

Thoughts: I'm not surprised that AR won but I didn't want to see it. AR is not the longterm plan and this would have been a great way to end that reign. It wasn't great or anything but they didn't botch and it was an acceptable main. Lewis losing hurts what he's doing though. Jensen/Rourke seems like the next title match.

Jensen has words for AR after. Kam Hendrix and Harley Riggins go to get in the ring and the show ends before we see anything more.

Overall thoughts: Tyra Mae Steele had her best match yet with Kali Armstrong, who is leaving Evolve. Tyra just got fired, so she's leaving Evolve too. We never got Moreno/Hall. It's GAL seems to be changing his character up. The women's tag was acceptable but I didn't like the new girls losing. The main was disappointing as Rourke won and Lewis lost when he shouldn't have. We kind of left the show on a cliffhanger as Kam and Riggins were seemingly going to attack Rourke, but the show cut off as they got in. I'd give it a 5 out of 10. The matches were acceptable overall but the firings and the bookings didn't help things out here. It was average.
