WWE LFG 4/26/2025 Season 3, Episode 1
Note - Multiple people on this show were cut this week before this show aired including Chris Island, Trill London, Sirena Linton and Carlee Bright.
Note 2 - This is LFG. They do a lot of worked shoots here. They show us what they want us to see and the matches are often clipped up. Always take most of the things you see and hear on this show with a grain of salt.
We are at the Performance Center. Shawn Michaels thanks Booker T and Bubba Ray for coming back to LFG. He says we need to go back to basics. He says Undertaker is running AAA. He says he needs their athletes ready for NXT. He says he wants to stop doing points and teams, but still wants legends and superstars coming in to help. He says the wrestlers could get called up at any time and he doesn't know when Taker will ask for someone for AAA. Shawn says the wrestlers need to be ready as quickly as possible.
We go to Matt Bloom/A-Train's office. He's the Head Coach and VP of Talent Development. He talks about his career and says he's having a better time outside of the ring.
Kevin Owens is driving to the Performance Center. He says he wants to help the next gen and doesn't know what else to do since he's been doing this for 25 years.
Natalya says the PC is a machine.
Elijah Holyfield says he's back after a torn bicep.
Harlem Lewis says he's been here for 2 years. He says he has the IT Factor.
Bloom talks to Owens, Nat, Booker and Bubba. Bloom says the talent need more time to tune thigns up. He says it'll be Nikkita Lyons vs Kali Armstrong. Bloom says Lyons had a severe knee injury and that set her back. Bubba says Lyons is in great shape. Bloom says Kali raised the bar for women coming in. He says she can do anything athletically and Booker will love her.
Bloom says Drake is in a sink or swim situation. Bubba says he's a great dude and a needs to bring the two worlds together. Bloom says Keanu Carver is unique and Owens will be a good coach for him. Bloom says Kendal Grey has the highest potential and Natalya will be with her. Bloom says PJ Vasa needs to get comfortable putting her will on others and is timid in training. Bloom wonders if KG can handle the pressure.
Lyons introduces herself. She says everything in her right knee tore. She says rehab took 10 months and we see clips of her at the hospital. Lyons tells Bubba she's not scared and is confident in her knees. Bubba tells her to find what works for her. Lyons wants a secret handshake.
Kali Armstrong talks. She talks about doing track and field. She says she has it all and is here to prove herself. Booker talks to her. Kali says she feels good. Booker says her playbook isn't for her, it's for others.
Bubba tells Lyons to let it fly.
Nikkita Lyons vs Kali Armstrong
This is in front of a crowd and its in the room they use for Evolve. They each miss shots to start and NL punches her in the gut. Kali shoulderblocks her and dropkicks her. NL split leg drops her and hits mounted forearms.
NL hits shots to the gut and foot chokes her. Kali hits punches. Kali goes upside down in the corner and is superkicked down. NL reverse bronco busters her then chest kicks her down. They trade shots. NL spin kicks her in the gut. Kali walks up the buckles and twisting crossbodies her. Kali powerslams her for 2.
NL germans her then tiger drivers her for 2. NL hits mounted corner punches. Kali powerbombs her. NL spin kicks her in the face. Kali powerslams her. Kali hits a running shoulderblock and pins her.
Thoughts: What we got was fine. Kali hit some nice shots to the gut, her finisher looked good and we saw her do a rare top rope move. Lyons did a lot of her usual stuff.
Booker T puts over Kali and said it was the beginning of her thinking for herself. Bubba puts over Lyons and said they had good strikes (I agree). Bubba says the selling could have been better. Bubba says she needs to say in the background when the spotlight isn't on her. Lyons says the match went well.
Bubba tells Keanu to throw a good punch at Drake. Booker agrees. Booker argues with Keanu and says he won't make it. Keanu says no one has a better punch. We saw most of this interaction already on NXT a while back.
Keanu says he played football at Temple and quit after getting into a fight with a coach. He says he drove for Uber Eats. He says he hit up the WWE Recruit page and ended up here.
Drake talks to Bubba. Bubba says Keanu is getting off on the wrong foot.
Keanu tells Kevin Owens about getting into a fight with his coach. Owens says he has to figure out whether it's more important to speak his mind or the job. He says if he speaks up too much, it could cost him the job.
Bubba tells Drake that the eyes are on him. Drake says he's been at the PC for 3 years and says he's one of the more experienced wrestlers who isn't on TV. Bloom says he's one of the lower hanging fruits on the tree and his time is running out. Drake says he knows his contract is expiring soon and he doesn't have time to figure this out.
Drake Morreaux vs Keanu Carver
This is in the Evolve arena. Bubba says Drake knows this is make or break. I think Drake gives Hank Walker a necklace and I think Tank Ledger is there with him.
They lock up and let go. DM shoulders him over then side headlock takeovers him. DM running back elbows him then slams him. Bubba gets upset. DM misses a bottom rope splash. KC hits DM in the gut then drops him gut first on the top rope. KC stomps on DM then pulls him throat first into the bottom rope.
KC pounces him for 2. KC hits corner spears. DM hits shots. KC hits punches and bullies him in the corner with punches. Booker doesn't like KC's punches. KC suplexes DM for 2. KC face shoves DM. DM fires up and hits some shots. DM running facekicks KC then slams him.
DM spinning lariats him. DM hits a 2nd spinning lariat and pins him.
Thoughts: They show us what they want us to see, but I agreed with what the coaches were saying. Drake did fine and showed some spirit. KC was the bully here as usual.
Owens asks Keanu what happened on the slam. Owen says both guys looked like they were going too easy. He says Keanu is scary looking and the shots gotta follow that up. Owens says he was curious as to how he received the feedback.
Bubba tells Drake they worked too light and says they gotta bring it. Bubba tells him to lay it in and let it go. Drake says he's happy but p!ssed to be back.
Kendal Grey talks and tells her life story. Natalya says they need to make the audience care about her because she's new. Nat says KG is someone to watch out for. She says PJ Vasa needs to be physically mean and rude.
PJ Vasa talks. She says she wanted a "P" name (she says Paradise was available but it didn't fit) and says Vasa means ocean. Booker says PJ has a lot of pressure on her as this isn't the first time we saw her.
Bloom says we have a generational talent in Grey, who could be called up at any moment.
Kendal Grey vs PJ Vasa
This is in the NXT arena. We see Jeremy Borash and Vic Joseph covering this. Booker says KG is a little different.
They lock up and KG slides out. PJ slams her. PJ throws her in the corner then misses a corner charge. KG hits punches. KG goes up and over then between the legs. PJ samoan drops her. PJ rams KG's back into the apron edge.
PJ hits a hard corner splash then a corner spear. PJ side slams her for 2. PJ misses a corner charge and goes into the post shoulder first. KG hits punches. KG hits running back elbows. KG germans her. KG superkicks her twice. KG is caught off the buckles and KG casadora flatliners her for the win.
Thoughts: It was short. We only had a few minutes left so it had to be. What we got looked good. Kendal was explosive and PJ absolutely crushed her on a splash.
Shawn Michaels tells Bloom he wants to throw her in the deep end and see how she does. Shawn says KG is as ready as she will be and they will bring her up to NXT right away. KG says she was speechless. Shawn says this is her launching point and it's all her. Shawn tells her to keep doing what she's doing. KG says she's taking it day by day. KG says this is just the start for her. Nat hugs her.
PJ says the match went great. Booker says they executed perfectly. PJ says KG belongs on the NXT roster and she's glad to push her up.
We get some clips of future episodes. We then seemingly see Shawn tell Drake Morreaux his time at the Performance Center is going to be over (The show was taped in January and he's still around)
Overall thoughts: We have a new season and a new format here. I'm not fully sure what to make of it. My ideal version of this show is them showing us how they put the match together, doing the match and then show us what the coaches thought about the match. It seems like we will still get some of the worked-shoot aspects which were my least favorite part of the show. If you didn't look online, you wouldn't know who all would be on this episode because they didn't show everyone here. I'm sure we will meet 6 more people next week though. The show is still not really must see TV. The matches can't be anything too great because there's no story behind them and because they can't do angles to really build the match up. And at the end of the day, there's only just so much you can get out of seeing 5 minute random matches. I wouldn't really recommend this episode and I think the show is still pretty similar to what we saw the last 2 seasons.
