We are in San Jose, CA. Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett are on commentary.

Cody Rhodes arrives and is looking for Pat McAfee. Nick Aldis tells him he can't lay his hands on Pat and says he has strict orders from above about that. Jelly Roll comes in. Nick Aldis tells Jelly to stay out of this. Jelly says it has nothing to do with Pat or him. Cody says this has to do with Wrestlemania and 20 years of history. He says this is Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton only.

Rhea Ripley comes out. She says Jade finally did it and found her weakness. She says she attacked her ego and tells her to come out. 

Iyo Sky comes out. Iyo says she knows Rhea is angry and Iyo says she is too. Iyo says she wants to face Jade Cargill tonight. Rhea says Iyo isn't 100% and asks if she's sure. Iyo says she wants this tonight and says she will talk to Aldis if she has to.

Nick Aldis comes out and agrees to a Iyo Sky vs Jade Cargill match. 

Bayley vs Alexa Bliss

AB is shouldered over twice. Bay sliding back elbows her then is rolled up for 2. AB pushes her off and they regroup. Bay knees her in the gut then hits forearms in the corner. Bay misses a running knee in the corner. AB trips her into the ropes. AB stands on Bay's back and pushes her face into the mat.

Bay knocks AB over then dropkicks her through the ropes. We go to PiP break and return. AB lariats and dropkicks Bay. AB basement dropkicks her. AB headhunters her for 2. AB STO's her and misses a rolling senton. Bay sunset bombs her her into the buckles for 2.

Bay is in tree of woe and AB basement dropkicks her. AB diving tornado ddt's her and Bay's head is driven hard into the mat. Bay hits a belly to belly and they hockey fight. AB cradles her for 2. Bay backrolls her into the buckles. Bay top rope elbow drops her for 2. They go out. Bay chops AB. Bay does the fargo strut at Charlotte. Charlotte and Bay throw a jacket each other and AB rolls up Bay to win.

Thoughts: Bay took a very bad looking ddt on her head and hopefully she's okay. The finish was something different but a bit weak. That wasn't that great.  

Matt Cardona tells Carmelo Hayes to wait for his Mania moment. Trick Williams and Lil Yachty come in. Trick says he thought Melo would win last week. Melo says Trick is one of the reason he didn't win. Yachty says Melo gets to watch Trick win the US Title from the couch. Melo says he hopes Trick wins so he can take the US Title from him. Matt Cardona then talks to Trick. Trick says he doesn't have the time for this. Yachty challenges Cardona for Trick. Trick isn't happy and Cardona says he will talk to Trick to get this set up. 

Drew McIntyre does a video from a prison. He says Jacob Fatu is a failure as a man and a father. He says he knows Fatu's family is here. He says the prison cell represents who Fatu is an will always be. He says Fatu chose a life of crime over his family when they needed a provider. He says he belongs in a cage. He says Fatu will screw up again and be back here. He says Fatu stole everything and says he will make it right. He says he will be his judge, jury and executioner

Jacob Fatu is interviewed. He says we are live. He says Drew will find out. The MFT's walk in. Solo Sikoa says Fatu isn't the only person here with family. Solo says Drew bringing up Fatu's past makes the family look bad and is a big embarrassment. Fatu says they aren't doing this today. Solo says isn't this the spot where he lost his teeth. He says it'd be a shame if it happened again. Solo brings up Tama and Tama says it is what it is. Solo says Tama doesn't mind taking care of business.  

We get a Royce Keys video. He says his city where the place of choice is a luxury. He says he was born in gang violence and drugs. He says his grandparents weren't having that. He says they didn't have a lot but had each other. He says wrestling brought him happiness. He says this is all he wanted to do and all he knows. He says he refused to be defined from where he's from, but instead, by where he is going.

Royce Keys vs Berto

Keys debuted at The Rumble but this is is first singles match on TV. Berto slaps Keys in the head from behind. Keys bodyblocks him. Keys yanks him into a powerslam. Keys hits punches in the corner. Berto slides out.

Keys is distracted by Angel outside and sent into the post. Berto top rope dropkicks Keys. Berto hits mounted shots. Berto hits mounted corner punches. Keys catches his 2nd rope twisting crossbody and fallaway slams him. Keys powerslams him. Keys hits a corner splash.

Keys pounds Berto on the top rope. Angel gets on the apron and is lariated by Keys. Keys spinebusters Berto and pins him.

Thoughts: It was a squash as expected with Keys running over Berto. They did what they were supposed to here.  

Pat McAfee arrives in a truck and sees Nick Aldis. Nick says he told Pat nobody is allowed to put their hands on him. Pat puts his keys in Aldis' pocket and tells him to take care of the ride. Jelly Roll goes up to Pat and asks if he told Orton to RKO him. Pat says no and says he shouldn't have been out there as he's a non-wrestler outsider. Jelly says he shouldn't be here either. Pat says this is bigger than him and says he shouldn't be here. Jelly threatens him and then grabs him. Aldis comes in and Jelly shoves him. Pat asks for the ex-convict outsider to be kicked out of here.

Royce Keys is interviewed. He says this is a long time coming and he gets to do it in front of his people. Keys says they will take it all around the world. Solo Sikoa comes in. He says good job and says he run things here. He says if Keys needs anything, his door is always open.

Pat McAfee comes out to talk. Pat calls San Jose a sh!thole. Pat says the fans boo him but he's the hero in this entire thing. Pat talks about CM Punk. He says it's hard to take Punk serious as Punk talked about people more famous and in better shape than him. He wonders where Punk's merch checks go to - the needy fans who can't afford Mania tickets or Punk's bank account entitled "I'm sorry Saudi Arabia". Pat says Punk is a fraud and a politican. He says Punk can change things but he rolls over on his stomach.

Pat says he decided to be the fans' hero. He says he called Ram trucks and asks if they wanted to help get people to Mania. He says they will pay 25% of the bill for anyone buying Mania tickets. He says the fans can thank him. He says Mania Saturday will be @ss and no one should spend money on it. He says Orton will save Mania Sunday and win his 15th title. 

Cody Rhodes comes out. Pat sings his own version of Cody's theme song. Cody says he doesn't think Pat belongs here. He says they should get him a Fanatics replica title and do a pretend entrance. He says then he can go back to whoever sent him here and tell them, "thank you, daddy". Cody says he didn't know what a "play wrestler" meant until he saw Pat doing catchphrases.

Cody says Paul Boesch and brings up Pat talking about marks and the IWC. He says Paul said the fans aren't marks but customers. He says the fans aren't customers but family. He says the fans agree that they want to see Orton and not Pat. He says, "go home Pat".

Pay says he is home. He says Cody was born into this business. He says he sees the fakest dude on earth with fake teeth, a spray-tan, dyed hair and a $10,000 suit that Ric Flair told him to buy. He says he's a cosplay champ. Pat says if Orton doesn't walk out of Mania as a 15x champ, you won't hear or see from him again. Cody says he wants to see Pat take off his glasses. He says if he's tired, they can have Gunther put him to sleep once and for all.

Cody leaves. Pat calls him Stardust and accuses him of sucking Triple H's @ss. He tells Cody to dance for the kids. Randy Orton appears on the tron. He says Cody is forgetting something. We see Jelly Roll down and in pain. Orton says he needs to come get his boy. Orton says he will bring his boy to him and drags Jelly Roll out. Cody gets distracted then Orton nails him from behind. Orton euros Cody.

Orton beats up Cody in the corner then stands on his throat. Jelly Roll gets on the apron. Pat goes to hit him and is grabbed. Orton knocks Jelly off the apron. Cody hits shots on Orton and lariats him.  

Pat hits Cody from behind. Orton bridging ddt's Cody. Orton hits Cody with the title belt and drops him. Pat stomps Cody after.

Thoughts: I'm not a big fan of breaking kayfabe and they did that here. As Cody said, the Cody/Orton match really sells itself with their history, but instead they are going for old Russo shockjock stuff from the early 2000's. Some of the lines Pat had were funny and he dug into Punk well but I don't think this segment did a lot to change people's minds on Mania. I didn't really love Orton beating up Jelly Roll either since they were pushed as friends for so long. 

Pat and Orton talk. Pat says the focal point of Mania is Orton. He says he's saving Mania's business and is becoming 15x champ. Pat says Cody told him to do something and he says he will. Pat calls out the IWC and marks and says you're welcome.

Miz and Kit Wilson ask Nick Aldis about what will be done about the ref last week having an arm spasm. Miz says something needs done. Nick says he was cursed and there's nothing that needs to be done. Nick says this is outside of his scope of control. Kit says the ref needs to suffer consequences. Nick says he will put Kit in the ring with the ref Dan....Danhausen. He says unless he's worried about the curse. Miz says there's no curse and Nick says great, see you tonight.

Jacob Fatu vs Tama Tonga

They lock up. Fatu stares him down in the corner. Tama boots him in the gut. They shoulder each other. Fatu uppercuts him. Tama hits shots to the gut and a corner splash. Fatu running back elbows him. Fatu headbutts him down.

Fatu handspring moonsaults him. Fatu topes him over the commentary table. We go to break and return. Fatu facekicks him and takes flying forearms. Fatu bends over and is kicked. Fatu lariats and sentons him. Fatu corner splashes him then hits mounted corner headbutts and has the fans count along. Fatu corner hip attacks him. Tama flying kicks him then hits an angel's wings for 2. Tama twisting reverse ddt's him. Fatu pop-up samoan drops him. Fatu double jump moonsaults him and wins.

Thoughts: Fatu did some different offense here. It was pretty strike heavy. What we got was acceptable but nothing too crazy.

Fatu talks on the mic after. Drew McIntyre hits him from behind and stomps him. Fatu superkicks him then claymore kicks him. Fatu is sent into the steps. Drew chairs him in the back then double underhook ddt's him on the floor. Fatu is handcuffed and whipped into the post. Fatu's back is rammed into the post and Drew punches him with handcuffs. Drew puts the handcuffs around the post and facekicks him. The handcuffs then fall off. Drew asks him ow it feels to be back in chains where he belongs and says he's nothing but an animal. Fatu headbutts him. The handcuffs fall off again. Officials come down. Drew handcuffs him again and hits punches. Drew claymore kicks him. Drew whips him with a belt. 

Thoughts: It's a shame they couldn't keep the handcuffs on and just kept trying to put them back on when they came off. That kind of hurt this one some.

R-Truth is telling Danhausen how to sign up for ESPN+. Dan says he can't wait for Mania and says they will become The Miz's new apprentice and take over the world. Damian Priest comes in and brings up Truth calling Dan "Asuka" last week. Truth and Dan are confused by this and Truth doesn't remember any of that. They argue and Danhausen disappears.

We see Rhea Ripley through B-Fab into a box and Fab is out. Rhea says one down, one to go. 

Sami Zayn comes out to talk. The crowd boos Sami some. Sami says it's time to nip this in the bud. He says everyone is telling him to change. Sami says he has always tried to give us more and give us himself. Sami says he cares about the fans who have been there since Day 1. He says he won't betray the fans and says he loves them. Sami says he doesn't care about getting booed. He says his fans will have his back no matter what. He says he will walk into Mania as champ and will walk out of Mania as champ.

Trick Williams comes out on a lighted up platform that spins him around. Lil Yachty comes out with him. Trick says he thinks the people are tired of hearing Sami talk. He says he's always whining and crying and says he's Mr. Can't Get The Job Done Zayn. He says we all know Sami hates Trick. He says his nickname is The Anointed One and favor isn't fear. He says he will beat his @ss at Mania. He says everyone loves Trick Williams.

Sami says they don't love him. He says they like him and he gets it. He says Trick is in the ring with a Wrestlemania main eventer at Mania and he will drag him to the deep waters. Sami says Trick is called the future but he hasn't shown him anything. He says we will find out if he can walk the walk or just talk. Yacthy defends Trick. He says material things don't make Trick, Trick makes Trick. Matt Cardona then comes out and we go to break.

Trick Williams vs Matt Cardona

This started during the PiP break. Trick side headlocks him. Trick piesfaces him. Matt drives him in the corner and Trick ducks shots. Trick knees him in the gut and slams him. Trick chops him. Matt flying lariats him. Matt 2nd rope dropkicks him.

Matt dropkicks him through the ropes. Matt knees Trick in the head. Matt hits mounted corner punches and is swept from the buckles. We go to break and return. Matt hits chops and takes a spinning high kick. Trick hits mounted shots. 

Matt jawbreakers him and backdrops him. Trick bends over and his face is banged off the mat. Matt hits forearms in the corner and knee chokes him. Matt broski boot's him in the corner and hits an unprettier for 2. Matt takes a stun gun. Trick jumping neckbreakers him for 2. 

Matt is sent out. Trick running lariats him. Trick shoves Sami outside. They argue on the apron. Yachty pulls Sami down from the apron. Sami helluva kicks Yachty and Trick is shocked. Matt rolls up Trick for 2. Trick hits a trick shot on Matt and pins him.

Thoughts: It's 2026 and Matt is still a jobber to the stars here. I'd say he'll be on Main Event in a few weeks at this rate, but he already has been. I don't think he should have beaten Trick here, but I don't think he should have been the one to lose either. The match was about average and Trick won as expected.

Danhausen vs Kit Wilson

The Miz is with Kit. Dan gets in his face and is piefaced. Dan dropkicks him then northern lights suplexes him for 2. Kit boots and forearms him. Dan slides out and hugs Miz but Miz doesn't know it's him. Kit flying euros Dan outside. 

Kit flying corner euros Dan several times. Kit says the curse is not real. Dan jawbreakers him and takes a rebound lariat. Kit goes up top and Dan sits up top. Dan then curses him. fireworks shoot out of the post and Kit gets crotched. Miz is on the apron and Dan eye pokes him. Dan pump kicks Kit in the head and pins him.

Thoughts: It was mostly shenanigans as expected. As I said before and with Papa Shango back in the day, the trick is to do believable stuff where you could give the benefit of the doubt that something happened. Kit crotching himself is believable, Dan making fireworks shoot out of the post isn't. That's how you go from an interesting thing to goofy and unbelievable. And I think the latter is what Dan's run is going to be. They also are clearly not going to be able to have Dan out there winning like this much as it will get old fast.

The Miz goes to attack Dan. The lights go out and Dan escapes up the aisle.

Jade Cargill is looking for her friends in the back. Michin is down and has kendo sticks on her. Jade asks what happened and Mich says Rhea. Jade says she's got her.

Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky talk in the back. Rhea says she might have taken out B-Fab and Michin. Iyo says no distractions and Rhea agrees. Rhea tells her to leave something for her at Mania. Iyo says no worries.

Jade Cargill vs Iyo Sky

Iyo dropkicks Jade and hits forearms. Jade shoulders her over. Jade slam Iyo and poses on her. Iyo handsprings and boots her. Jade pops Iyo up and Iyo dropkicks her. Iyo goes for a tope and is forearmed. Jade drops Iyo on the apron. 

We go to PiP break and return. Iyo hits uppercuts and dropkicks her. Iyo pulls her down over the top rope. Iyo top rope dropkicks her. Iyo corner meteora's her. Jade gorilla presses Iyo and Iyo does a sleeper out of it. 

Jade rams Iyo into the corner. Iyo rolls her up for 2. Jade blue thunders her for 2. Iyo rolls Jade into a double stomp. Iyo asai moonsaults Jade. Iyo shotei's her outside. Jade drops Iyo face first on the steps outside. Jade pump kicks her. Jade hits a jade end and wins.

Thoughts: They had the idea down and it was acceptable enough with Iyo doing her flying and making comebacks and Jade throwing her around. I was fine with this one.

Jade grabs a chair after. Rhea Ripley comes out. They stare at each other but Jade leaves. Jade says she will see her at Wrestlemania.

Overall thoughts: It was a longer show as usual. Bay/Bliss was average. Royce Keys finally debuted in singles action and won as expected. We got more Pat McAfee stuff. Pat had some good moments, but I don't like all the inside terms being used and I wish they'd just focus on the crux of the feud instead of the shoot stuff. Fatu/Tonga was acceptable. The angle after should have worked better but they just couldn't keep Fatu cuffed. Sami Zayn is now getting booed. Trick Williams beat Matt Cardona as expected. Danhausen made his singles debut and beat Kit with shenanigans. Jade beat Iyo in the main. I'm not confident on where things are going forward with them doing worked shoot stuff with Pat/Orton and over the top gimmicky with Danhausen. Add in the matches just being acceptable to okay and it wasn't a great show. I'd give this a 5 out of 10 and would say it was average.
