AEW Dynasty 2026 4/12/2026
We are in Vancouver, Canada.
Pre-show:
We see a Willow interview from earlier in the day. She gets jumped by Kamille, who says she is back. Kamille hasn't been seen for a long time.
Excalibur, Nigel McGuinness and Tony Schiavone are on commentary for the pre-show.
Marina Shafir vs Alex Windsor
They hockey fight to start. Alex boots her then lariats her. Alex cannonballs her off the apron. Alex hits mounted shots on her. MS puts her in an armbar.
MS armbars her in between the ropes. MS boots her in the head then whips her into the rails. Alex hits shots to the gut. MS hip throws her then shoulder throws her. MS steps on Alex's face.
MS kicks her around. MS like rams her knee into the buckles and kind of falls out. Alex shoulders her over inside twice. Alex flying lariats her. MS triangles her. MS uranage's her for 2. MS kimura's her. Alex rolls her up for 2. MS forearms her down then does a short forearm. Alex hits forearms then takes shots to the gut.
Alex headbutts her then MS facekicks her. MS rolls her up for 2. MS chest kicks her down. Alex headbutts her. Alex does something like a made in Japan and wins.
Thoughts: It was ugly. Marina did whatever she could to kill any rhythm this could get. The crowd really wanted to get into Alex here and Marina put a stop to that multiple times.
Kamille vs Big Anne
Big Anne's a new one. We are told Willow is out for tonight due to Kamille attacking her earlier.
Jam rams Anne in the corner and hits forearms and boots. Kam corner splashes her then short arm lariats her. Kam pump kicks her. Kam torture racks her then torture rack drops her. Kam pins her.
Thoughts: It was a short squash and not much else. Anne got nothing in before going down.
Willow Nightingale comes out with her shoulder taped up. Kam nails her as she gets in the ring then boots her in the corner. Kam hits chest clubs. Kam corner splashes her. Kam pump kicks her.
AEW National Title - Jack Perry (c) vs Mark Davis

JP piledrivers him for 2. JP hits superkicks. Mark totally misses a gamengiri but it is sold anyway. JP hurricanrana's him for the win.
Thoughts: There was no reason for Mark to kick out of the piledriver and it was a little unbelievable at times, but I think they generally had the right idea here of Mark throwing Jack around and Jack surviving. Jack wins because someone with political power in AEW really likes him. Mark's really been working hard and it would have been nice if they rewarded him for it here.
AEW Women's Tag Ttiles - Divine Dominion (Megan Bayne and Lena Kross) (c) vs. Hyan and Maya World
The jobbers haven't won jack in AEW and it's unknown how they got this shot.
Lena shoves Maya on the lock up and shoulders her over. Maya step up enzugiri's her. Meg shoulders Maya over. Hyan comes in and dropkicks Meg. Hyan back elbows Meg then rolling snapmares her. Hyan rolls her up then Meg rams her into the corner. Hyan headscissors her out of the corner.
Hyan top rope crossbodies her for 1. Lena electric chair drops Hyan face first on the apron. Lena boots and foot chokes Hyan. Lena low sliding lariats Hyan for 2. Lena pump kicks Hyan in the corner. Meg does the same then germans her for 2.
Lena clubs on Hyan's back. Hyan facekicks Lena. Hyan pulls Meg over the top. Lena and Maya get in. Maya up kicks her and spin kicks her in the gut. Maya spinning headscissors her into the buckles then running euros her. Maya double jump springboard dropkicks Hyan.
Hyan running knees Lena in the corner. Lena takes a blockbuster + russian legsweep for 2. Meg holds both opponents in the air and fallaway slam + samoan drops them. Maya its a double ddt on the heels. Hyan topes the heels outside. Maya asai moonsaults Meg hard and seemingly scares her.
Lena and Hyan trade. Lena pump kicks Hyan. Hyan backrolls her then Meg driveby kicks her. Hyan takes a double chokeslam and is pinned.
Thoughts: They gave the jobbers a ton of offense here for some reason and tried hard to put them over. It was a decent match with the jobbers being thrown around and showing some spirit to stay in it. Meg got stiffed hard on a moonsault which isn't exactly a move you usually stiff people on.
Main show:
The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) vs. The Don Callis Family (Kazuchika Okada and Konosuke Takeshita)
Don Callis joins commentary for this. Okada wore like a high school football style jacket out for some reason.
A Buck side headlocks KT. KT shoulders him over then flying lariats him. A Buck takes a double shoulderblock then elbow drops from The Family. KT and KO shake hands. KO slams and slingshot swantons a Buck. A Buck walks up the ropes and does a headscissors + armdrag takeover. A Buck does an assisted shiranui. KO takes a knee to the face. The Bucks do a sunset flip + german on KT then lariat him over the top.
A Buck top rope moonsaults outside onto The Family. A Buck does a springboard dropkick + senton combo. A Buck is flapjacked into the other's crotch. KO laughs about it in a funny moment and says something about a mouthful of d!ck. A Buck's head is banged off the steps while KT chinlocks the other in the ring.

A Buck hits a double bulldog. A Buck rolls over KT's back to spinning heel kick KO. A Buck then springboard double stomps KO and rolls into a backcracker on KT. The Bucks hit stereo sunset flips into stereo sharpshooters. KT and KO slap each other so they don't tap out. They both then ropebreak.
KT and a Buck trade. KT fights off both Bucks. KO neckbreakers a Buck on the knee. A Buck walks up the ropes and springboard diving headscissors KT. The Bucks hit stereo top rope moves for 2. KO and KT hit stereo tombstones on The Bucks for 2 counts.
A Buck is crotched up top. KT top rope release germans a Buck. KO dropkicks the other Buck. A Buck takes a pumping knee for 2. KO slams a Buck then top rope elbow drops him. A Buck step up knees KO. We get a spot where KT is sunset flips and does a double german (with one of the receiving wrestlers being Okada). KT blue thunders a Buck. KT takes a canadian destroyer, no sells it and hits a pumping knee. All 4 men go down.
The four trade shots. KO and KT then start forearming each other. A Buck takes a dropkick + flying knee combo. A Buck takes forearms from the Family. KO is pushed into KT. A Buck rolls up KO for 2. KT pumping knees KO on accident. KT takes a poisonrana. KT hits a double lariat on the Bucks. KO rainmakers KT when a Buck moves.
KO takes a double superkick then a double pumping knee for 2. KT goes to trip a buck to stop a meltzer driver but then lets him go so he can hit KO with a meltzer driver. The Bucks then win and Don says, "what was that?".
Thoughts: It was the usual Bucks match with them doing every move they know and not selling much. Takeshita and Okada's antics were great though and they made the match more enjoyable. This one wasn't for me and it went well over 20+ minutes.
Chris Jericho vs. Ricochet
CJ armdrags him then rubs his head. CJ grabs the camera but gives it back. CJ chops Ric. CJ dropkicks Ric in mid-air and bulldogs him. CJ goes for a springboard and is pushed out. Ric death valley drivers him on the apron.
Ric topes him. Ric hits combinacion cabron. Ric boots CJ in the head. Ric pulls CJ around the bottom rope. Toa pulls on CJ's arm over the bottom rope.

The ref stops CJ then CJ is pulled into the buckles. Ric northern lights suplexes him. CJ goes for the crab then The Gates of Agony interfere, sending CJ into the buckles. Ric death valley drivers him then running ssp's him for 2.
CJ jumping codebreakers him for 2. They trade forearms on their knees. CJ hits chops in the corner. CJ hits mounted corner punches. CJ top rope hurricanrana's him. Toa drops CJ with a running shot outside. Ric top rope ssp's CJ for 2. Ric then pins CJ with an asai moonsault.
Thoughts: It went a little longer than it needed to and had a lot of shenanigans with GOA. I don't like Chris losing on his return here. It had some moments with CJ countering a top rope ssp with a codebreaker and him doing some flying and I did somewhat like it more than I thought I would. It was acceptable.
Darby Allin vs Andrade el Idolo
Darby will receive an AEW World Title shot if he wins here.
Idolo sits DA up top. DA hits some slaps and side headlocks him. Idolo surfboards him. Idolo lays on the ropes and DA topes him, sending both outside. DA is sent into the rails. Idolo sits DA up top then chops him into the ring. IDolo then flirts with a planted female.

DA reverse ddt's him. DA top rope coffin drops him for 2. Idolo spinning back elbows him for 2. DA then ties his legs up and wins.
Thoughts: It was the usual Darby stunt show. He did a bunch of dangerous stuff and somehow survived. It was a spotfest with them not doing a ton between the big moves. They definitely overdid it some here. It wasn't a smart match but it had a lot of exciting moments.
They shake hands after.
AEW Tag Titles - FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) (c) vs. Cope and Cage (Adam Copeland and Christian Cage)

Stoke is pushed out. Cope spears Dax for 2. Cage is pushed into a chair into the post then Cage is thrown over the timekeepers rail. Cope fights off a 2v1. Cope hits a double spear on FTR. Cope takes a shatter machine and is pinned.
Thoughts: It was a good match. FTR worked Christian's arm and Cope had to fight off FTR 1v2 a bit. Cope bled and Christian some hard bumps here. It had a bunch of action and it felt like both teams could win. It got a lot of time and they put a lot of effort into this.
Willow does a promo on Kamille. She says she will kill her comeback before it starts. She says she will see her at Spring Break Thru.

Pac corkscrew ssp's Mike off the top for 2. DG sharpshooters Mike. Kevin somehow won this.
Thoughts: It was a spotfest with tons of flying and big spots. It was chaos as expected and more of a highlight reel than a match. It was alright though as that was the expectation.

Thoughts: It didn't have the most exciting second half with them doing a lot of their best stuff in the middle of this. They didn't overdo it though and it wasn't a flippy match like a lot of the other bouts. It was more brawling based. It was alright. Thek got the win as expected.
Alex Windsor runs down and tries to tell the ref what happened.
AEW Continental Title - Jon Moxley (c) vs Will Ospreay

Thoughts: They did too much here with Will kicking out of a piledriver on the steps. It was a stiff match with Mox getting his mouth busted open in the opening minute. Both guys took some hard shots. Will sold a lot and did a decent job with it but he didn't do as many flips as dives as usual. I liked most of it but then it just kept going.
Darby Allin is interviewed by Renee. He says Wednesday is in Washington where he started his career. He says if there's ever a time, it's this Wednesday. He says he will be watching Kenny/MJF and seems to want his title match on Dynamite.
AEW Trios Titles - The Dogs (Clark Connors, David Finlay, and Gabe Kidd) (c) vs. The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong and Kyle O'Reilly)
They do a stupid sitcom entrance with OC sleeping on a couch, Strong waking him up then Kyle O'Reilly coming in through a door. Finlay then hit the door with his shillelagh and threw it down while Clark gyrated on the couch. Gabe then pretended to pee on the couch.
DF armlocks Kyle then wristlocks him. Kyle trips him and side headlocks him. Kyle shoulders him over. DF blocks a sunset flip and Kyle leglocks him. DF shoulders Kyle over then Kyle knees him in the gut. DF takes a flying forearm. OC fools around and elbow drops DF in the backbreaker.

Thoughts: I was surprised to see the faces win after the heels just won the titles the night before. OC did his usual screwing around despite this being a title match with serious and deadly heels. I can't really understand the decision behind this unless it was to give Kyle a win at home, but he's not exactly a guy at a high enough level to do that for. It was mostly filler and far from anyone's best work. It wasn't that good. The face's entrance was very stupid.
AEW World Title - MJF (c) vs Kenny Omega
MJF wore some stupid outfit with a horns on a crown and a jacket. A fan yelled "Mortal Kombat" during it. The ref takes a weapon from MJF before it begins.

They fight on the apron. MJF punches him in the gut with the ring. MJF tombstones KO off the apron through a table. MJF heatseeker piledrivers KO over the 2nd rope and pins him.
Thoughts: It was long and not that good. They kicked out of canadian destroyers, poisonrana's, one winged angel's and 2nd rope one winged angel's here. They had MJF work Kenny's gut some with punches but didn't go all in with it. I didn't like this.
MJF needs help up to the ramp then he sits in his entrance throne after.
Overall thoughts: It was a long show at 5 hours and 19 minutes if you count the pre-show and it didn't end until 12:19am. It didn't need to go that long and it's hard to sit through. The trios title match, Jericho's match and the gauntlet all could have been cut easily. It was the usual AEW PPV. The Bucks had their long match where they do every move they know. Jericho/Richochet was acceptable. Darby took a bunch of nasty bumps as usual vs Idolo in their spotfest. I liked the FTR vs Cope and Cage match and thought it was good. The Casino Gauntlet just was what it was with lots of big spots and flying, but I guess it did what it was supposed to. Thek/Jamie was just alright and had a weak 2nd half. Will and Mox had a stiff battle but they did too much. The trios match wasn't that good. I didn't like the main as they went way overboard with a lot of head dropping moves. There weren't a lot of big surpises, debuts or non-wrestling moments here either. I'd give the show a 5 out of 10 overall. I'm just not a big fan of AEW's general style or lengths of their shows but I'm sure AEW fans will love this.
