WWE Evolve 3/26/2025
Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/03/wwe-evolve-3192025.html
Peter Rosenberg and Robert Stone are on commentary.
Ava talks to Stevie Turner and Chuey Martinez in the back. Ava says Stevie has been impressing her and says Chuey needs to go out with her to give a big announcement. Chuey brings Stevie out and announces that she is the new general manager of Evolve.
Stevie is in the ring and says it's an honor. Various wrestlers are outside. She says it's an honor to be named GM. She says this is truly where pro wrestling evolves and will continue to be that way under her leadership. She says everything is up for grabs. She says who will be the first face of Evolve? She says it comes down to who impresses her. She says lets kick things off with Wolfgang vs Sam Holloway. Keanu Carver then bumps into Luca Cruasfino and they tease fighting.
We go to break and return.
Wolfgang vs Sam Holloway
They lock up. Wolf side headlocks him. They shoulder battle and trade chops. Wolf hits euros and crossbodies him in the corner. Wolf top rope double axe handles Sam. Sam facekicks him then slams him on the apron. Sam rams Wolf into the apron edge/post. Sam comes off the 2nd rope and elbow drops Wolf in the back.
Sam slams him for 2. Wolf headbutts him in the gut and euros him. Sam abdominal stretches him then hiptosses him for 2. Wolf hits shots to the gut. Wolf back elbows him then 2nd rope diving shoulders him.
Wolf hits forearms then hits shots in the corner. Wolf tries a buckshot lariat but his back gives out. Sam double underhook suplexes him into the buckles. Sam hits corner spears on Wolf.
They fight up top. Sam goes down then Wolf top rope swantons his back and wins.
Thoughts: I didn't like the finish on this one. Wolf had his back worked on and decided the finish the match with a top rope swanton which would affect the back. It wasn't the prettiest match ever but they did have the right idea. Sam's nose got busted open here.
Joe Coffey says it's Gallus Boys on top after.
We see Aria Bennett and Layla Diggs talk earlier in the week. They said they didn't like the outcomes of their matches. Aria says they should team up together and make music in the ring.
Carlee Bright is in the VIP Section with her pom poms.
Kendal Grey vs Zara Zahker
Grey waistlocks her and takes her down. Zara reverses it. Grey rolls her up for 2 then they try to dropkick each other at the same time. They then kip up together.
Grey wristlocks her. Zara rolls, kips up and wristlocks her back. Grey headflips out of a wristlock then Grey does a nice fireman's carry slam. Grey then armlocks her. Zara rolls her off and hits armdrags. Zara armlocks her.
Grey dropkicks her. Zara hits chops then handspring back elbows her. Zara basement dropkicks her for 2. Bright cheers on Grey. Grey does a soul foot to Zara's arm. Zara's shoulder is rammed into the buckles. Grey suplexes her for 2.
Grey yanks the arm then Zara suplexes her. Zara hits forearms then lariats. Zara bends over and is kicked. Zara spinebusters her. Gey slingshot sunset flips her but Zara drops down. They trade pin attempts. Zara step up enzugiri's her.
Zara misses a top rope move then takes a running facekick. Grey rolling armbars her and taps her out.
Thoughts: I liked it. Grey worked the arm a bit here before winning with an arm submission. The two meshed well and it was probably Grey's longest televised singles match to date.
Wendy Choo's bear is at the post while Kylie Rae comforts Zara outside the ring.
Drako Knox comes up to commentary. He says last week was the biggest opportunity of his life. He says he feels alive and a hunger in the ring. He says it's a good feeling when he connects fist to face. He says he can grow from a loss but says he can't handle the big man in the VIP section thinking he can show him up last week. He says whoever the tall guy with the long hair was, let's handle it in the ring.
Swipe Right, Ice Williams and an unknown female are in the VIP Section.
Wendy Choo vs Kylie Rae and Harlem Lewis vs Joe Coffey is next week. We will also have a face off between Dani Palmer and Kali Armstrong.
Aria Bennett and Layla Diggs vs Kalyx and Haze Jameson
This is Kalyx's WWE TV debut. Aria and LD flip in together as they enter.
LD and Kal go at it. LD pushes her into the corner then Kal blocks a trip attempt. LD flips out of a hiptoss and armdrags her then dropkicks her. LD flips Aria onto Kal for 2.
Kal back elbows Aria. Haze then gets a 2 count on her. Haze wristlocks Aria. Aria rolls and armdrags her. Aria armdrags her then Haze armdrags her into a chinlock. Aria hits elbows to the gut.
Kal running back elbows Aria for 2. Haze drinks champagne from the VIP Section during the match. LD split gordbusters Kal and pins her.
Thoughts: It was a shorter one. The finish was odd with Haze drinking champagne and not seeing her partner get pinned. Aria and LD are both athletic and I think they might be alright as a team together. This was all about the basics and there was a sloppy moment or two.
We get a video on Timothy Thatcher. He says he's not here for beauty contests, he's here for victory.
We get a video on Sean Legacy. He said he knew he wanted to be a wrestler in high school and was told he couldn't do it by so many people. He says he's trying to create a legacy.
Timothy Thatcher vs "Super" Sean Legacy
TT used to be in NXT but was released a while ago.
Sean dropkicks him then hits a standing moonsault for 2. TT hits mounted shots. TT euros him then takes a dropkick to the knee. Sean double stomps his back and dropkicks him. TT is thrown out and is pulled down onto the apron face first. Sean the topes him.
We go to break and return. TT euros him and clubs on him. TT avoids a top rope dropkick then backdrops Sean for 2. TT does a bow and arrow on Sean. TT suplexes him for 2.
TT pulls on the fingers. TT clubs Sean's back and euros him. Sean hits euros then TT belly to belly suplexes him. TT facelocks him. TT knees him in the ribs. TT guillotines him and Sean throws him over the top.
They trade forearms and TT falls off the apron, fitting his head on it. Sean suplexes him in. Sean hits forearms and kicks. Sean germans him for 2. Sean springboard dropkicks him for 2.
Sean flying knees him in the corner then hits his burning hammer into a twisting drop finisher to win.
Thoughts: It was an average match and like most Thatcher matches, it wasn't that exciting. There was nothing too special about this. Sean moved around well here and did some good face stuff early. Thatcher needed to stiff him and rough him up more to make this one work better.
Sean argues with Swipe Right after. Swipe gets in the ring then Jack Cartwheel and Cappuccino Jones come out to help. Swipe Right wants help from Ice Williams, who eventually gets in. Ice then joins the faces and Swipe Right gets mad.
Overall thoughts: It was an easy show to get through and was fine. There was nothing must see here. I'd still like a bit more character work here and I do think they need to get people on the show consistently so we don't forget them. But they set up some stuff for next time, we got a new debut and they are still keeping up the Choo/Kylie storyline. I'd give this one a 5 out of 10 as it was nothing must see but it was okay for what it was.
