WWE NXT Halloween Havoc 2024 10/27/2024

Oba hits a big lariat on Tony. Oba pop up powerbombs Tony for 2. Tony's family hits Oba with weapons then hits a shatter machine on him using a chair. Tony spinebusters Oba through a table and wins.
Thoughts: It was a good match. They got off to a hot start here and beat each other up good. The finish was a bit sudden. The Family interfering made sense but it wasn't exactly face like and it didn't make Tony look strong. I don't love Oba losing again here and I'm curious as to what is next for him, though he did not lose clean by any means.
Lexis King is interviewed by Sarah Schreiber. He says he hasn't found his cornerman for the Heritage Cup Match. He says he's trying to be his own man and says rejection does suck. G stops an electric chair move then backdrops Cora. G top rope double underhook suplexea Cora. SV hits a top rope cancun tornado on Perez. SV pins Perez.
Thoughts: I liked this one a lot. They didn't slow down the whole time. Cora had some rough moments and is clearly not comfortable doing dives. It was action packed, fast paced and SV's finisher looked good here. This really couldn't have went much better than it did.
The lights go out after and we see a Zaria video. Zaria appears up high in the stands and gets the spotlight put on her.
Cedric Alexander and Je'Von Evans talk in the back. Evans says the kid in him should be enjoying the run and he said he shouldn't of slapped Nathan Frazer. Ced says sometimes bad things can lead to good things though as they are getting a tag title shot. Ced says he's here to get some gold.

Ambulance Match - Andre Chase vs Ridge Holland
I think Chase maybe has a Freddy Kreuger style Chase U sweater on, but it's debatable. Ridge came out in a mask. The ambulance is a smaller and older car.

Chase tries to put Ridge in the ambulance but can't close the door. Ridge eye rakes him while in the ambulance. Chase gets hit with the ambulance door then is catapulted into it. Ridge lifts him for a ddt on the floor and Ridge closes the ambulance door on him. Ridge wins.
Thoughts: It was a good match. It was mostly based around weapons usage. Chase put over that he hated Ridge well. I was kind of surprised to see Ridge win but it made sense. They got a lot of time for this one.
We see clips from earlier in the week of Fraxiom talking at the PC. Frazer apologizes about what happened with Evans. Axiom says he's used to it as Frazer starts a fight and he backs them out of it. Ax brings up him being happy that Orton calls him a hothead.

KJ split-legged moonsaults and Nyx comes down and gets in. KJ knocks her away. Jacy gets on the apron and is booted. KJ goes for a 450 and Fallon gets her knees up. Fallon hits a shining wizard and wins.
Thoughts: This whole thing was an absolute joke. Credit to the heels though for not being stupid and picking a stipulation that benefited them though. There was nothing good about this. It had a bunch of shenanigans. All 3 matches were short and Kelani had an off night with sloppy moments during the first two legs of this.
Fatal Influence get on the mic after. Another Zaria video airs. The lights are out. Zaria appears behind Fatal Influence and knocks them all down. Zaria spears and F-5's Fallon then stands tall.

Doctors come to check on Trick. Page slams Trick on the steps. Page misses a shot with the steps then takes a rock bottom on the steps. Page low blows him and slaps him around. Page grabs the steps then Trick low blows him. Trick slaps him then hits him with the steps. Trick flying pumping knees him and wins.
Thoughts: It was mostly a hardcore match here and wasn't that special. There wasn't a lot but weapons shots. It did feel like either guy could maybe win though.
Ridge Holland attacks Trick Williams after. Page says this is his business and not Ridge's. Page runs into him and tells him if he wants to do it, do it right. Ridge then lifting ddt's Trick. Bubba Ray Dudley comes out and beats up the heels. The heels back off and the four stand off to end the show.
Thoughts: I watched this after it happened. I had seen someone say that Bubba Ray Dudley stood tall to end the show over the heels and I'm like "what?". We know why they did this - NXT is going to be in the ECW Arena and they wanted some ECW names for it, but it's pretty bizarre.
Overall thoughts: Everything was fine except for the gauntlet match, which was a disaster. Oba/Tony and the women's tag match were the best matches on this one. It was a fun event and a good offering from NXT. I'd give it a 7 out of 10. A great main may have really put this over the top, but Trick and Page's past bouts haven't been that good and it wasn't expected. Bubba Ray Dudley standing tall to close the show though was something I never imagined we'd see in 2024.
