STARDOM 10/26/2024 Goddesses of Stardom Tag League 2024 Opening Round

Goddess of Stardom Tag League 2024 Blue Goddess Block -Natsupoi and Saori Anou vs Mei Seira and Kohaku

 

Ko and Poi go at it and not much happens early. Poi cartwheels off the ropes and takes a forearm. Ko armdrags and basement dropkicks her and Poi dropkicks her in the corner. Poi and Anou put a double submission on Ko and let go.  Anou gets tripped and basement dropkicked by both opponents.

Poi top rope crossbodies Ko for 2 then armbars her. Poi armdrags Mei then hits a double basement dropkick through the ropes on her opponents. Ko baseball slides her. Mei lariats Poi on the ropes then they trade pin attempts. Mei dropkicks her and Poi spin kicks her in the gut. Poi hits a headhunter and Anou hits a top rope dropkick.

Mei spin kicks Anou. Ko then basement dropkicks Anou. Ko suplexes Anou then crossfaces her. Ko takes a double enzugiri then Anou fisherman suplexes Ko. Ko top rope dropkicks Anou for 2. Anou germans Ko then step up enzugiri's her. Anou germans Ko for 2. Ko northern lights suplexes Anou for 2.

Ko takes a superkick into a backslide. Ko takes a double ranhei then takes Anou's temps tendre. Anou picks up the win.

Thoughts: It was a decent opening tag match here. They kept it moving and didn't overdo it too much. Anou and Poi winning wasn't a real shock. 

Goddess of Stardom Tag League 2024 Blue Goddess Block - Hina and Lady C vs Waka Tsukiyama and Rian

Rian hits chest forearms on C. C shoulders Rian over. C gets tripped into the ropes and takes a double hip attack there. C slams Rian for 2. Rian gets on C's back with a sleeper and C breaks it up. Rian hits chest forearms. C catches Rian's crossbody and giant swings her.

Hina slams Rian multiple times. C boot flurries Rian and chops her in the corner. C splashes her for 2. C forearms her over and Rian crossbodies her. Waka hits hip attacks on C on the ropes for 2. Waka gets on C's back and pulls her arms back.

Waka basement dropkicks C then C shoulders Waka over. C hits chops on Waka and facekicks her on the ropes. Hina comes in and dropkicks Waka for 2. Hina pumphandle backbreakers Waka then crabs her. Rian breaks it up with forearms.

Hina takes a double team ending with a Rian crossbody and a Waka butt drop. Hina hip throws Waka off a straightjacket bomb attempt then Hina crabs her. Rian breaks it with a dropkick. Hina half-nelson wrist-cluthc slams Waka for 2. Waka takes a double flying neckbreaker for 2. Waka takes a 3D. Hina goes for a ki krusher and Waka bridges her backwards and picks up the win.

Thoughts: Things got messy near the end with Hina and Waka having trouble working with each other which brought this down. Rian didn't get treated like a young girl here and got to do a little more than usual in this one. This one wasn't that good.

Mina Shirakawa, Maika & HANAKO vs Suzu Suzuki, Saya Iida & Ranna Yagami

Hana and Iida go at it. Iida forearms her on the ropes and rams her into the corner. Hana gets her boot up then shoulders Iida over. Hana is between the ropes and takes chops from Iida. Iida shoulders Hana over. Ran gets in and tries to armbar Hana. Hana deadlifts her and powerbombs her down. Hana slams Ran.

Mina hits chest kicks on Ran then avoids a kick and poses. Mina kicks Ran in the back. Maika backdrops Ran and Mina dropkicks Ran as she spins. Maika slams Ran for 2. Ran flying back elbows Maik then kicks her in the back. Suzu comes in and knees Maika in the back.

Maika and Hana are pushed into each other. They block Suzu's double spear. Suzu double leg sweeps them and double basement dropkicks them in the back. Suzu driveby kicks Maika on the apron. Maika powerslams Suzu. Suzu drops Maika with a big forearm then Maika lariats her. Suzu no sells it and high kicks her down.

Ran dropkicks Mina. Ran hits chest kicks on Mina then running knees her in the corner. Ran kicks Mina in the back and does some bizarre fameasser style move. Ran then goes for the armbar. Hana splashes Ran on the ropes then Hana twisting drops Mina onto Ran.

Mina spin kicks Ran then Suzu saves Ran with a superkick. Ran leg lariats Mina. Ran strike combos Mina then Mina springboard kicks her for 2. Mina urakens Ran for 2. Ran does a pin attempt on Mina for 2. Suzu and iida are thrown into each other then take shoulderblocks. Ran takes a suplex + backbreaker combo. Mina then impaler ddt's Ran for the win.

Saya bites Hana's ankle either then Maika and Suzu argue.

Thoughts: It was a decent fast paced tag here. That suplex + backbreaker move doesn't look like much fun. I don't know what Ranna's fameasser move is supposed to be but I have yet to see her hit it clean yet or make it look good. I thought they put in a good effort here.

Starlight Kid and Haruka Umesaki vs Momo Watanabe and Rina

Kid has a nice Halloween themed mask on. Haruka misses a charge on Momo to start. She headscisors her out of the corner then basement dropkicks her. Haruka is tripped into a Momo baseball slide. Haruka hits forearms on Momo then is chest kicked over. Momo hair throws Haruka around. Haruka is wrapped in the ropes and dropkicked by Rina. Rina slams and double knee drops her for 2.

Rina boots Haruka around. Haruka fires back with chest forearms and takes a facekick. Haruka flying neckbreakers Rina then dobule stomps her. Kid 619's Rina then takes a knee from theapron by Momo. Kid does a headlock + headscissors takeover on both opponents and hits a double basement dropkick.

Kid stands on Rina's gut then standing moonsaults her for 2. Rina pulls on Kid's mask. Rina hip throws Kid. Rina double knees Kid in the corner then basement dropkicks her. Momo PK's Kid for 2. Kid springboard twisting crossbodies her. Haruka gets in and top rope dropkicks Momo. Haruka dropkicks Momo against the ropes.

Rina overhead suplexes Haruka then Momo meteora's Haruka for 2. Momo goes up top and Kid armdrags her down. Haruka then top rope 180 splashes Momo for 2. Haruka hits chest forearms on Momo. Momo chickenwings Haruka.

Momo takes shots from both opponents. Haruka hits like a high cuty special. Rina takes a double dropkick then Haruka top rope plancha's outside, nailing her own partner.  Momo PK's Haruka from the apron. 

Momo and Haruka trade shots outside. Momo suplexes Haruka on the floor and the match goes to a double countout. Momo hits and chokes Haruka with a bat after. Momo then walks her to the back as Rina and Kid fight.

Thoughts: No idea why this went to a double countout here since it's not even a league match. That makes little sense. It only got 10 minutes here. It was average for the most part.

Goddess of Stardom Tag League 2024 Red Goddess Block - Konami and Saya Kamitani vs Syuri & Saki Kashima

Saki rolls Saya, kicks her and hits mounted forearms. Saya pulls her down by the hair and chokes her on the ropes. Saya face shoves Saki then Saki flying headscissors her. Syu facekicks Saya on the ropes an deveryone fights outside. Syu and Saki get sent into the seats. Saki is sent into the post.

Saya slams Syu. Kon gets in and stomps on Syu's arm. Syu's arm is wrapped around the ropes. Saya yanks on Syu's arm then then arm is wrapped around the ropes again. Syu hits forearms on Saya then codebreakers her.

Saki double knee drops Saya off the ropes twice. Saki shotei uppercuts her and facekicks her around. Saya spinning heel kicks Saki twice. Kon sliding knees Saki against the ropes then fisherman suplexes her for 2. Saki superkicks Kon then step up enzugiri's her.

Syu dropkicks Kon then underhook suplexes her for 2. They trade chest kicks. Kon takes a ddt then is kicked in the front and the back together. Syu top rope guillotine legdrops Kon's neck. Kon gets on Syu's back and full-nelson then armbars her. Kon backrolls her into a chest kick.

Kon armbars Syu and it is broken up. Saya pumping knees Syu then Kon and Saya hit stereo dropkicks off the 2nd rope on her. Kon germans Syu then rolls her into a triangle lancer. Saki breaks it up and Syu gets a 2 count on Kon. Kon high kicks her then Syu pumping knees her. Syu high kicks Kon for 2.

Kon triangles Syu then Syu stretch mufflers her while tying up the arms. Syu submits Kon.

Thoughts: It's weird to see Saki taking things seriously after goofing off all summer long. There was a lot of armwork in this one and I thought it was average. I do feel like Saya is being wasted some as a heel as she can do a bunch of flying stuff others can't yet doesn't get to do it so much because she is a heel.

Syu and Konami fight after.

Goddess of Stardom Tag League 2024 Red Goddess Block - Mayu Iwatani and Momo Kohgo vs AZM and Miyu Amasaki

Miyu and Momo go at it. Momo armdrags her from the mat. Miyu ducks a 619. Momo takes a double basement dropkick. AZM foot chokes Momo. AZM corner dropkicks Momo for 2. Momo hits forearms on AZM. AZM chest forearms her over. Momo hits a nice dropkick on AZM. Mayu comes in and dropkicks AZM.

Mayu boots AZM in the gut then spin kicks her in it. Mayu walks up the ropes and double armdrags both opponents. She then double basement dropkicks both opponents. AZM suplexes Mayu. Miyu ddt's Mayu then dropkicks her in the back of the head for 2. Mayu northern lights suplexes Miyu for 2.

Mayu chest kicks Miyu then snapmares her. Momo dropkicks Miyu and trades chest forearms with her. Momo pounds her down into the mat. Momo dropkicks her on the ropes then Miyu elevated ddt's Momo. Miyu scholar collar's her. Momo pulls Miyu's arm down over the top and springboard dropkicks her. Momo 619's her for 2.

Momo side underhook suplexes Miyu for 2. Miyu hammerlock ddt's Momo. Mayu and AZM fight. Mayu backrolls her but misse her basement dropkick. AZM PK's her and basement dropkicks her. AZM then slips on her headflip up.

AZM armbars Mayu. Myiu does a botched tornado ddt on Mayu with the help of AZM. AZM buzzsaw kicks Mayu for 2. AZM misses a top rope double footstomp and takes a superkick from Momo for it. Momo flying headscissors Miyu then springboard plancha's outside. Mayu hits a top rope splash on AZM for 2.

AZM rolls up Mayu for 2. AZM high kicks her then Mayu flying crossbodies her. AZM la mistica drops Mayu and tries a pin on her for 2. Momo 2nd rope twisting crossbodies AZM then AZM takes a double superkick. Mayu holds AZM up in the air and dragon sleepers her. Mayu then dragon suplexes her off of that and wins.

Thoughts: It was the usual Stardom high speed tag here. Not so much logic or anything but a fast pace and lots of moves.

Momo Watanabe comes out after and has words for Mayu. She ends up beating her and AZM with a bat. She holds up Mayu's title and stands on her throat. She then drops the title on Mayu. Mayu gets on the mic after.

Goddess of Stardom Tag League 2024 Red Goddess Block -Hazuki and Koguma vs Natusko Tora and Ruaka

Kog and Haz have similar outfits here. They get knocked off the apron together. Haz is thrown into the seats and Kog is sent into the post. Kog is sent into the seats. Haz get sent into the post. Haz takes a double shoulder and double flapjack. Tora and Ruaka then hit sentons.

Tora suplexes Haz twice. Tora running back elbows her in the corner. Tora chokes Haz in the corner. Tora shoulders Haz over then spits something in her eyes. Ruaka shoulders Haz over then Haz ddt's her. Kog gets in and dropkicks Tora into Ruaka. Kog splashes both opponents in the corner. Kog stacks both opponents on top of each other and tramples them.

Kog gets on Ruaka's back with a sleeper. Ruaka throws her off then hits a corner splash. Ruaka sentons her for 2. Ruaka hits chest forearms on Kog. Kog hits somne forearms back then running cutters her. Ruaka crossbodies her against the bottom rope for 2. Kog ddt's Ruaka then Ruaka fisherman suplexes her. They crossbody each other in mid-air at the same time.

Haz and Tora trade forearms. Tora back body drops Haz then misses a senton. Tora samoan drops her then sentons her. Tora takes a long sequence from her oppo nents ending in a Haz senton. Haz crossfaces Tora. Haz takes a double hiptoss into the ropes but hits a double armdrag off of it.

Kog and Haz do facewash kicks together then take shoulderblocks. Haz's double codebreaker is blocked. Kog's top rope double crossbody is caught and Haz dropkicks them all over off the top. Kog and Haz do stereo dives out together. Haz top rope sentons Tora. 

Ruaka shoulders Kog over. Tora hits a corner cannonball on Haz then flips Ruaka onto Haz. Ruaka flips Tora over onto Haz for 2. Haz la magistrals Tora for 2. Haz pump kicks Tora and gets hit with a box while running the ropes. Tora death valley drivers Haz for 2.

Tora and Ruaka do lariats on their opponents then miss dives off the top together. Koga and Haz then roll up both and pin them to win.

Thoughts: They put out a good effort here with Haz and Tora doing stuff they don't normally do. It went a little longer than it needed to but it was an okay main. I'm not sure why this was put in the main over other matches though.

Overall thoughts: I felt like they gave a better effort than they usually do on house shows. Stardom's fast paced style kind of forces tag matches to be certian ways and the matches weren't totally different from each other in this one. I would have maybe done a different main, but the girls did try to do a better match than usual. I liked the main and the opener best on this one. It wasn't must see or anything and it was about average overall.
