WWE Evolve Succession II 3/4/2025

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2026/02/wwe-evolve-2252026.html

The last Succession is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/10/wwe-evolve-succession-10152025.html

We are at the Performance Center and not the NXT version of it like at the last Succession. Peter Rosenberg and Blake Howard are on commentary.

This is officially the start of the 2nd season.

The Vanity Project talk in the back. Drake says he's been on a generational title run and is carrying the NXT and Evolve brands. Brad says they were the first to get called up to NXT and Smokes says they are perfect for it. Brad says he saw some girl named Megan who went missing when Joe Hendry appeared and wants to see her after. Drake says when you get in the ring with him, you need to operate on another level. He says Cap Jones will be another guy who lost to him in the history books. He says the Evolve Title stays with them tonight.

Cappuccino Jones does a promo. He says tonight feel's different and there's an expectation tonight. He talks about Kendal vs Vasa then Jensen vs Lewis. He says he gets his title shot after. He says Jackson Drake looks past him. He says the caffeine high everyone gets from underestimating him comes with a crash. He says he earned this moment and will make it taste good.

Harlem Lewis vs Brooks Jensen

Har puts him in the corner and hits corner spears. BJ hits forearms and chops. Har hits more shots. Har back elbows him then bulldogs him for 1. BJ sleepers him and clubs Har's chest. They shoulder battle then BJ is shouldered out of the ring. Har goes for a baseball slide and is tied up in the ring skirt. BJ clubs on him.

Har trips him on the apron and clubs on BJ. BJ kicks him. We are told there was an attack this week in the parking lot that we will see footage of later. Har powerslams him and elbow drops him for 2. BJ olympic slams him for 2. BJ throws him by the arm and they double clothesline each other down.

We go to break and return. BJ lariated him during the break and is now stomping on him. HL hits forearms and euros. BJ forearms him in the spine then lariats him from behind. BJ chinlocks him. Har hits elbows to the gut and backdrops him. Har running facekicks him. Har hits a hard short arm lariat for 2.

BJ back body drops him and Har sunset flips him off of it. They trade forearms. They club and chop each other. BJ spinning heel kicks him then sitout powerbombs him. BJ knees him in the face. BJ hits knees to the head.

Har hits euros to the arm. Har armbars him. They trade shots. BJ facekicks him then superkicks him. Har facekicks him. BJ rebounds off the ropes and gets lariated. Har jackhammers him and pins him.

Thoughts:
It was a hard hitting match with them clubbing and chopping each other. BJ's spinning heel kick was nice. It wasn't spectacular, as is the case with most Jensen matches but it was fine and it did what it was supposed to do.

Chuey Martinez interviews Harlem Lewis at ringside after. He says there isn't a man in the locker room who can beat him and he's the biggest bad@ss. He says that doesn't make him champ, only him beating the champ does. He says the winner of tonight's title match is holding the belt for him as he's coming for the winenr after.

Laynie Luck does a video. She say she's excited to be here. She said she grew up loving wrestling. She said she rode quads and played sports as a kid. She said she was looking for the next big adventure until she got Chrohn's disease. She said she started her career at 21 and never looked back.

WWE Women's Evolve Title - Street Fight - Kendal Grey (c) vs PJ Vasa

KG has Wren Sinclair with her. KG runs in and trades shots with PJ. KG hits shots in the corner then PJ hits a big lariat. PJ headbutts her down. KG armbars her over the top rope. KG goes for a table and PJ hits her. PJ is pushed into the post.

KG sets up a table next to the rail. KG superkicks her. PJ pops her up into the ropes and headbutts her. KG is sent into the steps. We go to break and return.

PJ goes for a chair shot and KG stops her from using it. PJ black hole slams her for 2. PJ chairs her. Tyra Mae Steele is at the VIP Lounge. PJ throws a bunch of chairs in. PJ chairs her. They fight on the buckles. KG knocks her off the buckles then dropkicks her off the buckles onto the chairs.

KG chairs PJ. They go outside and PJ spears her hard into the table against the rails. PJ powerbombs her for 2 in the ring. PJ brings the bottom half of steps in the ring and bangs KG's face off them. KG flatliners her on the steps and pins her.

Thoughts: The finish was a bit sudden but I think it was supposed to be. The match was an okay bout but nothing too memorable. The spear spot on the outside was pretty cool. KG really chaired PJ hard in the back here. I'm not sure who is going to beat Ken at this point and I don't know where PJ goes next.

Tyra says KG is good but yells that she's not a gold medalist.

We are told there will be a town hall next week that will change things going forward.

We see clips of Tate Wilder getting jumped in the parking lot by Harley Riggins and Cam Hendrix.

WWE Evolve Title - Jackson Drake (c) vs Cappuccino Jones

I feel certain Cap is winning here. Swipe Right is in the VIP Lounge.

Cap takes him down and they trade front facelocks. Cap armlocks him. Drake headscissors him then side headlock takeovers him. Cap headscissors him and tries a pin. Drake side headlocks him then walks on his back. Cap hits a flurry of shots on Drake in the corner. Drake slaps him down.

Drake underhook suplexes him for 2. Drake stomps Cap's hand. Cap chops him in the corner then is pulled into the buckles. Drake double foot chokes him. Cap dropkicks him. Cap dropkicks him through the ropes and goes out.

We go to break and return. Cap flying back elbows him in the corner. Drake twists Cap's head with his feet. Drake kicks Cap in the back. Drake ties Cap's legs up and stomps him. Cap forearms him and Drake neckbreakers him for 2. Drake cravates him. Cap michinoku drivers him to escape. Cap flying dropkicks him in the corner twice then runs into a facekick. Drake suplexes him into the buckles.

Drake mocks him for not having an NXT contract. Cap slaps him. Drake boots him in the corner. Drake hits forearms and Cap forearms him back. Cap hits punches. Drake misses a legsweep and Cap splashes his back to counter it. Drake flying forearms him in the corner. Drake pulls Cap's throat over the top rope. Drake is crotched on a springboard. Cap springboard back elbows him down to the outside.

Cap topes Drake and goes nearly head first into the floor. He pounds on him then lariats him. Cap pump kicks him. Cap germans him for 2. Drake jumping knees him. Drake high kicks him and germans him for 2. Drake runs into a big forearm. Cap top rope elbow drops Drake for 2.

Cap back springboards and is neckbreakered. They fight on the apron and trade chops. Cap takes a slingshot suplex to the floor. Drake top rope 450's Cap for 2. Drake enzugiri's Cap off the ropes. Drake springboards and is forearmed in mid-air. Cap hits his caffinator for 2. Cap goes up top and Drake crotches him up there. Cap sleepers Drake on the top rope. Drake 2nd rope burning hammers him. Drake sliding knees and pins him.

Thoughts: It got a lot of time. It was just alright and wasn't great. The story just wasn't there. I was surprised to see Drake win since he's a full-time NXT guy now. Cap didn't have the greatest push to his title shot so him losing maybe shouldn't have been such a big surprise.

Harlem Lewis comes out after and heads to the ring. The Vanity Project head out then triple team Lewis. Lewis fights off the 1v3 and throws Smokes out.

Overall thoughts: It was a good show. Nothing was great but all 3 matches were fine and got enough time to play out. There were no title changes here. I would say maybe the women's match was the best match of the night. Lewis/Jensen was okay but could have been better. The main was alright but it was long and the story just wasn't there. We are told there will be major changes next week but I have no clue what those might be outside of Timothy Thatcher becoming the GM. I would give this a 6 out of 10.

Evolve Season 1 thoughts: The show did not light the world on fire and was not quite as good as the first year of NXT or NXT UK was. It was an okay show but just not a must see show. Sadly, the interest online reflected this as outside of more pro-WWE spaces (Wrestlingforum and /pw/), the show hasn't had a ton of viewers. The Vanity Project were the big winners of Evolve as they were nobodies coming in and are much bigger names. Kendal Grey was also a big success. Outside of them? Kali Armstrong did a good job but her push just cooled off when it seemed like she would be called up. Sean Legacy never really became the star they wanted. Keanu Carver never really got the chance, though it seems like he will get his push on NXT. It's GAL got a little better but hasn't risen much in rank. Cap Jones plateau'd a bit and Jack Cartwheel hasn't been around as much as expected. A lot of people left and Stevie Turner leaving was the biggest blow to the brand. She did a good job and her GM segments really gave the show some Original NXT structure that they haven't replicated since. Zayda Steel leaving was a surprise, and likely a bad move and Bryce Donovan got tossed pretty quickly. Jamar Hampton looked like he could have been big but he was also released. Most of the LFG crew have not been around as much as I expected though Cam Hendrix has done a good job and Trill London should be a star. I feel like the show does need a second hour and needs something more to stick out, but what that is, I don't know. I liked the show, I'm happy it exists and hope we get many more seasons to come, but I'm concerned. Thankfully, the show cost little to produce and does not need to get a ton of viewers to survive.
