AEW Dynamite 9/16/2026

We are in Norfolk, VA. Taz, Excalibur and Tony Schiavone are on commentary. 

Adam Copeland, Christian Cage, Darby Allin and Steven Borden talk. Cope says Darby has always had his back. Cage says he's sorry for the loss of Borden's father career. Darby says things aren't over with him and Cage. Cage tells Darby to worry about his title and Cage will worry about his own title and they will be fine.

FTR, Kevin Knight, Don Callis and Kyle Fletcher are interviewed. Big Stoke says FTR will walk out the winners at all Out. Kevin brings up The Young Bucks and Kyle says they beat The Bucks last week. Don suggests his boys should be contenders and Stoke says we can talk about it after All Out.

Christian Cage, Adam Copeland, Darby Allin and Steven Borden vs FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood), Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight

Big Stoke is on commentary for this.

Cope and Kyle lock up. Cope backs him up on the ropes. Kyle wristlocks him. Cope trips him and armlocks him. Kyle ropebreaks and slides out. Darby gets in and side headlocks Kyle after Cage teases being in. Kyle takes forearms from DA and Borden. All 8 men then get in and back off.

Borden backs up Dax in the corner. Dax side headlocks him then shoulders him over. Borden goes up and over and dropkicks him for 2. Dax chops Borden in the corner. Borden euros him there. Dax slides out and DA nails Dax outside. All 8 men end up fighting inside.

We go to PiP break and return. DA jawbreakers Cash. The heels send he faces into the rails outside while Kyle grounds DA. Kyle flying forearms DA in the corner. DA tries a slingshot sunset flip but Kevin helps block it. DA and Kyle bang heads and go down.

Borden tags in and hits punches on FTR. Borden dropkicks Kyle then back body drops Kevin. Kevin sits up top and Borden dropkicks him down. Dax and Borden fight on the buckles. Borden knocks him down then Cash crotches Borden up top. Kyle superkicks Cope and Cage is back body dropped out. Kyle catches DA's springboard and half and half suplexes him. Borden takes a superplex + top rope splash + top rope elbow drop + top rope 180 splash for 2.

Borden cradles Dax for 2. Dax lariats Borden down. Dax tries to sharpshooter Borden but Dax is pushed away and Cage chairs Dax. Kevin springboards and Cope spears him. Cage reverse ddt's Kyle on the apron. Dax takes a coffin drop + reverse ddt from DA and Borden and he gets pinned.

Thoughts: It was acceptable. It wasn't the best match possible and there were a lot of people we didn't see much of here. Borden was in this for most of it as he's still learning on the job here.

The Death Riders do a promo. Mox says Ospreay is targeting him and says it's a bold move. He says it's incredible what Will has overcome. Mox says he's hard on himself and everybody as it's a hard job. He says just having a belt doesn't make you the best. He says he never asked Will for nothin' and says he didn't want him to follow but lead. He says WIll knows whatever happens is his responsibility. Gabe Kidd asks why they have to wait for the PPV. Pac says it's The Death Riders vs The World and they won't let Will off the hook.

Chris Jericho vs Nick Wayne

They lock up and Nick armdrags him twice. CJ hiptosses him then Nick spits on him. CJ hits chops in the corner. CJ boots him out of the corner and bulldogs him. CJ goes to springboard and is pulled down backwards. 

CJ double underhook backbreakers him then delay suplexes him. Nick eye pokes him and superkicks him in the gut. CJ is thrown to the apron. Nick hits punches on the apron. CJ AA's him on the apron. CJ is sent into the steps. Nick jumps off the steps and canadian destroyers him on the floor.

We go to PiP break and return. CJ chops Nick and CJ back body dros him. CJ lariats him over the top and springboard dropkicks him off the apron. CJ top rope plancha's him outside. Nick superkicks him on the apron. CJ is hanging from the 2nd rope and Nick top rope swantons him on the apron.

Nick comes off the top and CJ codebreakers him for 2. Nic stunners him then standing shiranui's him off of it for 2. Nick superkicks him. CJ hits bad punches on the top rope and hurricanrana's him down. 

CJ corner lariats him then hits another top rope hurricanrana. Nick 2nd rope os cutters him for 2. They trade chops. CJ unties Nick's necklace. Nick gets mad and CJ rolls him up and pins him.

Thoughts: It was the usual Nick Wayne match with canadian destroyers on the floor. CJ didn't take as much stupid stuff as others but they had a lot of story possibilities here and instead just did the usual moves based match. I didn't care for this one.

Nick is upset about his necklace after. CJ offers to help him up but Nick doesn't let him. CJ goes to leave and Nick kicks the 2nd rope into his crotch. Nick hits mounted punches with the necklace on CJ. Nick chairs CJ.

They say Mercedes Mone is not clear to compete at All Out due to a nose injury but will be at WrestleDream. She will fight the winner of Thekla vs Willow at WrestleDream.

Willow Nightingale does a video. She says Mone broke her hand and now can't defend her title at All Out. Thekla then chimes in and says Willow blew it at All In. Thek says she's our new hero instead of Willow. Willow says she will remind her why you never count Willow out.

Will Ospreay, Akira Francesco and Andrade El Idolo are interviewed. Will says things are looking good for them and says Idolo is now in the group. He brings up Idolo holding the title shot contract and tells him let's find out who is better when he's ready. Idolo does his "how you know?" line. Akira talks in Italian. Will tells Akira to say something in English and he says let's kick the sh!t out of The Death Riders.

Winners get a trios title shot - The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong and Kyle O'Reilly) vs Adam Page, Brody King and Bandido

Kyle kicks Page off the lock up. Page shoulders him over. Kyle and Page sweep each other and Page boots him over. Kyle hits leg kicks on Band. Kyle chest kicks him down. Kyle knees Band in the gut and Band takes a chest kick + basement dropkick.

King misses a corner charge. King tries to chop OC but OC holds his hands up like a high five. OC puts his hands in his pockets. OC dropkicks him. King chops him. RS comes in and trades chops with King. We go to PiP break and return.

Band delay suplexes OC. Page comes in and drops his opponents with shots. Page back body drops RS and boots Kyle over. RS throws OC into Page with a fallaway slam and Page fallaway slams OC. Page springboard lariats RS and slingshot plancha's him outside. 

Page facekicks Kyle outside. Page death valley drivers RS. King comes in and chops RS in the corner. He then puts Kyle in the corner and chops him too. King corner lariats RS and Kyle then corner cannonballs them. OC's tope is caught by King outside and King throws him down on the floor. Kyle flying dropkicks OC against the rails.

RS backdrops Page on the rail top. Band gorilla presses OC into a cutter for 2. OC stunners Band. Band takes an orange punch into an olympic slam for 2. Page and RS trade forearms. Page lariats RS down. 

OC flying elbows Page from the top. OC gets on Page's back and does lasso motions. Page throws him down then does the same. RS flying lariats Page. Band pumping knees RS. Kyle legsweeps Band. King lariats Kyle down. OC hits leg kicks on King and Rs flying knees King. Page buckshot lariats RS and pins him.

Thoughts: I didn't like it. This was for a title shot and we had people on both teams goofing around. All we really needed was a dancing segment to really cap this off. This got a lot of time and no one did anything too wild here.

Tomasso Ciampa does a promo. He says he wants to go all out and he says he wants Okada at All Out.

Tomasso Ciampa vs Myles Hawkins

Myles has his entrance gear on as the bell rings. He takes his time to take it off and threatens the guy who takes the entrance gear away. Ciampa pumping knees Myles and pins him.

Swerve Strickland, Prince Nana and The New Level come out.  The Demand then attack them. Creed is sent into the rails. Swerve is sent into the steps. Toa samoan drops Creed. Kofi jumps on Toa's back and is thrown down. Toa lariats Kofi. Kaun pedigrees Kofi. Swerve fights a 3v1 but takes a spirit gun. Swerve takes a t-gimmick and the faces are laid out next to each other. 

Jack Perry does a promo with a bloody finger. He says he's been on a mission to face former AEW champs. He says he got his @ss kicked but he's learning and feeling something. He says he wants to call his shot and not wait. He says Samoa Joe is feared and loved. He says it's time Joe comes back and teaches him something. He tells him to come back and make his day. 

Jamie Hayter vs Lena Kross

Lena flying kicks Jamie in the face. She then pounds on her back. Lena whips Jamie with her own jacket. Jamie back elbows Lena and Lena hits forearms and boots in the corner. Lena foot chokes her. 

Jamie pounds on her in the corner and lariats her. Jamie running boots her in the gut. Jamie dragon screws her over the 2nd rope. Jamie is dropped face first on the apron and pushed into the rails. Jamie then takes an apron edge powerbomb.

We go to PiP break and return. Jamie flying lariats Lena. Jamie 2nd rope dropkicks Lena. Jamie shotgun dropkicks her in the corner then 619's her. Jamie top rope dropkicks Lena for 2. Lena germans her for 2. Jamie cradles her for 2. Jamie step up enzugiri's her in the chest. Jamie AA's her. They trade chops. Jamie hits forearms. Lena gordbusters her and knees her in the face for 2. Jamie germans her and low flying knees hr for 2.

Jamie uranage backbreakers her for 2. Megan Bayne comes out and gets on the apron. Lena grabs a pipe while she does it. Lena hits Jamie in the gut with the pipe and jackhammers her. Lena pins her.

Thoughts: They each took some hard bumps here. It was acceptable but it went a little long and I don't know that we needed to see this one.

Alex Windsor comes out and runs the heels off with a table leg.

We get a video on Andrade El Idolo. He says he was born with wrestling in his blood. He talks about his family's history in wrestling. He says it's his destiny to be champ.

Kazuchika Okada is interviewed. He says he has given it a lot of thought and says Ciampa is a b!tch. Ciampa then attacks him and stomps on him. Ciampa pumping knees him. He grabs him by the face, says he wants the psycho killer vs the rainmaker and calls him a b!tch.

The Brawling Birds do a promo. They say Divine Dominion like to break rules but there are none at All Out. Jamie says they will get slaughtered at All Out. 

United Empire (Will Ospreay, Andrade El Idolo and Francesco Akira) vs The Death Riders (Jon Moxley, PAC and Gabe Kidd)

This started at 9:57PM.

Will and Mox get in but Mox leaves. Gabe comes in and bites Will's hand. Will takes running corner attacks. Will flying headcissors Pac. Will standing corkscrew moonsaults Gabe for 2. Akirai s dropped from Will's shoulders onto Gabe. Will's team hits stereo slingshot plancha's. Idolo takes photo with a girl at ringside.

Gabe chops Akira. Mox sends Akira into the steps and Gabe sends Akira into the rails. Mox slams Akira. Akira's legs are split. Pac bangs Akira's head off the buckles. Pac foot chokes Akira. Mox chops Akira down inside for 2. Mox half-crabs him. We go to PiP break and return.

Gabe hits punches and stomps on Akira in the corner. Akira takes a triple foot choke. Akira hits forearms on Pac. Akira sweeps Gabe on the apron. Akira 619's Mox under the bottom rope. Idolo tags in and hits lariats and a flying forearm on Pac. Idolo elbow slices Pac over the knee. Will corner facekicks Pac and Idolo corner meteora's Pac.

Will springboard flying forearms Pac for 2. Will hits Kawada kicks. Pac hits spin kicks to the gut. Will step up enzugiri's him. Pac rebound germans him. Mox and Will trade forearms. Will handsprings and Mox goes for a choke.  Will high kicks him and sitout powerbombs him for 2. 

Akira top rope crossbodies Mox and he flying headscissors Pac. Akira 2nd rope moonsaults Gabe and Pac outside. Akira slingshot cutters Mox for 2. Gabe running lariats Akira. Everyone starts coming in to hit a move and Mox cutters Idolo. Akira rolls up Mox for 2. Mox chest kicks Akira down hard.

Mox slaps and boots Akira around while he's down. Akira hits chops on Mox. Mox lariats Akira and double underhook ddt's him. Mox hits a second one then death rider ddt's Akira. Mox bulldog chokes Akira and Akira taps.

Thoughts: What we got was fine. It was nothing particularly memorable and not anyone's best work but it was alright enough. Akira mostly got picked on here and he eventually took the fall here.

Mox puts the bulldog choke on Akira after while the heels do more stuff to the faces. Idolo breaks it up and fights off The Death Riders. The Dogs then jump Idolo. 

The heels go to pillmanize Akira's neck but Will makes the save. The heels then leave.

Overall thoughts: This show was mostly all in-ring action here. A couple of people got jumped by heels here as well. The opener was acceptable. I didn't like Jericho/Nick at all. Orange Cassidy brought down his match as usual by turning it into a joke. Ciampa won a squash. Lena/Jamie both took hard bumps in their match and it was also acceptable. The main was fine with Akira getting picked on for most of it. I thought it was average overall and I didn't think they put a ton of effort into this one. I don't think this was that effective as a show to get people interested in All Out. I'd give it a higher 5 out of 10.
