Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling Mayhem 9/2/2026

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2026/08/maple-leaf-pro-wrestling-mayhem-8262026.html

We are in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Don Callis and Mauro Ranallo are our hosts.

Ace Austin vs Jonathan Gresham

JG offers a handshake and AA obliges. JG side headlock takeovers him, Ace goes for the headscissors and they stand off. JG takes him down and AA pushes him out of the ring with his feet. JG stalls outside.

They lock up and test strength. JG hammerlocks him. AA throws him out off of it. They do the headlock > headscissors spot. AA hits armdrags into an armlock. AA puts him on the apron and JG holds the ropes open for him. JG then clips him from behind.

We go to break and return. AA has a reverse figure four and JG ropebreaks. AA goes to run at him but falls down due to leg pain. AA leapfrogs and sells his leg. AA one-legged springboard crossbodies him for 2. AA helicopter kicks him off the ropes.

JG kicks him in the knee and sunset flips him. They trade pin attempts. They trade chops and forearms. JG takes off his wrist tape, the ref takes it and JG hits AA low. JG rolls him but is rolled into a bridge. AA pins him.

Thoughts: It was fine. JG was more heelish than usual here. He worked Ace's leg. Ace squeaked out a win with a bridge pin while JG was trying to work the leg.

Psycho Mike talk in the mirror and says he kept telling himself to work harder and be patient. He says every time he gets his shot, it becomes someone else's moment. He says maybe he's just the guy in the background.

We get a video on Sinner and Saint. They say Travis Williams isn't neglected and can talk his way out of most situations. He says he will get you while your down if he can and says it's not the method, but the results. The voiceover guy says it's an odd pairing. The voiceover guy says they can be the best to ever do it. He says they belong nowhere and only trust each other. We then see them fall asleep at a cafe.

Jody Threat vs Alexia Nicole

They lock up. JT wristlocks her. AN tries to reverse it and JT side headlock takeovers her. AN headscissors her on the mat. JT side headlocks her. AN back elbows her then flying headscissors her. AN shotgun dropkicks her.

AN superkicks her and JT catches her hurricanrana. JT lariats her down then back elbows her down. JT pump kicks her and meteora's her from behind on the ropes. JT germans her. JT hits an F-5 and pins her.

Thoughts:  Jody won quick but Nicole got a decent amount in and had a nice showing here. It didn't get the time to be great and Jody won as expected.

Adam Copeland does a promo. He says he knows why Steve Maclin went to the US. Cope says he's been all over the world and says Steve is a tough man. He challenges him for the Maple Leaf Gardens show. He says if he's got the set, show up.

Steve Maclin interrupts the commentators. He asks who they can have a show called Mayhem and not have "Mr. Mayhem". He says Cope can't keep his name out of his mouth and he'll see him at Northern Rising if he wants it.

Michael Allen Richard Clark vs Zack Gowen

Mike does push up's and tries to get Zack to do one. Zack then rolls at him and chases him on all four's. Mike slides out and trips Zack. Zack low one-legged dropkicks him then leg drops him. Mike back body drops him. Zack cradles him off a suplex attempt.

Mike lariats him and stomps him. Mike does push up's on Zack's back and leg. Mike elbows him in the head. Zack boots him out of the corner. Mike misses a corner charge and goes into the post. Zack top rope moonsaults him and pins him.

Thoughts
: I don't think having Mike lose here was the right call. It was another shorter bout here and too short to be anything. Mike was in control of this one for most of it before getting put down.

Rohan Raja talks about Mexico. He says Mexico was a reminder and he had to prove who he was. He says he didn't lose the fight, just his way. He says Mexico gave him best. He tells any wrestler to come prove that they are the best.

The First Faction do a promo. Sheldon Jean says everybody wants a shot and every team thinks they can beat them. He says Sinner and Saint want a shot. He says it'll be better next week as 4 teams will be competing for a title shot and they ask if they really want to do this. He says they will be embarrassed and will face the people who run this place.

Interim MLP Canadian Title - Stu Grayson (c) vs Johnny TV

Stu waistlock takedowns him and rolls him for 1. Stu rolls him up for 2 then armdrags him. Stu goes up and over then misses a corner charge. JTV handstand kicks him from the apron. Stu sweeps him on the apron and slingshot swantons him there.

Stu jumps off the steps and misses. JTV tope tornillo's him. We go to break and return. Stu hits punches. JTV rolls through a sunset flip and running knees him for 2. JTV enzugiri's him. Stu boots him out of the corner. Stu hits shots on him and flying lariats him down. Stu diving ddt's him from the 2nd rope. Stu asai moonsaults but JTV gets his knees up.

JTV drops him with lariats. JTV leg lariats him. JTV takes a belly to belly overhead suplex then takes 2 more. Stu asai moonsaults him for 2. Stu TKO's him for 2. JTV dominators him then springboard enzugiri's him for 2. JTV hits a moonlight drive. JTV misses starship pain.

JTV is up top, Stu walks up the buckles and superplexes him. Stu flying pumping knees him. Stu hits a torture rack backbreaker on his knees and pins JTV.

Thoughts: I figured Stu would win here since he just won the title and is being featured. What we got was fine but nothing too memorable. I'm not sure if JTV losing a match like this so soon out of nowhere was good call though as MLP has limited names and he seemed like he was going to be pushed.

Stu gets on the mic after. He says the last time he was in the ring, Josh Alexander came out. He says Josh returning isn't the problem, he says Josh returned when he's not cleared to wrestle. He says if Josh wants to step on his moment, he better be ready to fight him. He says Josh wasted his time. He says he knows Josh will be looking for him and says he's easy to find as he's the champion in the ring.

Overall thoughts: The opener was alright. We had 2 short matches that didn't accomplish a ton, though Alexia Nicole had a decent showing. The main was also fine here. We got a few promos/videos in between here as well and some stuff was set up for next week. The show was okay overall but nothing must see. I'd give it a 6 out of 10 overall.
