CMLL 8/7/2026 Grand Prix Internacional 2026

We get a comic book style intro with various wrestlers. 

The announcers are in the ring with the Grand Prix Internacional Cup and talk. Carlos Cabrera, AEW's Spanish, announcer also talks. They welcome us to the show and hype up the show.

Lightning Match - Shoma Kato vs. Rey Pegasus

They lock up. Kato wristlocks him. Rey headflips out. They catch each other's boots. Rey headscissors him down. Rey is popped up and headscissors him. Rey then topes him into the rails. Rey gets a 2 count on him.

Kato cradle shocks him for 2. Kato leapfrogs and spears him for 2. Kato slingshot splashes him for 2. Kato unties Rey's mask on the ropes then basement dropkicks him while he's in tree of woe.

Rey seated moonsaults off the top to escape Kato then he tilt-a-whirl backbreakers him. Rey walks the top rope, drops down and springboard diving headscissors Kato. Rey's tope is caught by Kato and Kato rams him into the rails. 

Kato tope con hilos Rey and gets a 2 count on him inside. Kato misses a top rope moonsault. Rey lariats him and spinning heel kicks him for 2. Kato is sat up top, Rey then flips off the bottom rope into a headscissors on him for 2. 

Rey poisonrana's Kato. Kato uranage's him for 2. Rey blind springboard reverse headscissors him. Rey walks up the buckles, rope walks and top rope moonsaults outside. Rey top rope diving hurricanrana's him for 2. Rey side leapfrogs him an armbars him off of it. Rey then submits him.

Thoughts: The finish was random. Aside from that, it was The Rey Pegasus Show. He did all kinds of neat flying moves, he hit them clean and he looked very good here. Kato didn't bring a lot to this one and failed to stand out as usual. It was an acceptable opener. 

Flip Gordon & Yutani vs. Difunto & Valiente Jr.

1st Fall - Val and Yut lock up. Yut hammerlocks him and Val flying snapmares him. Val flips off of him and Yut spin kicks him in the gut. Yut chops him in the corner. Val spin kicks him in the gut. Val flips out of a german. Val then spinning headscissors him form the bottom rope. Flip springboard dropkicks Val from behind. 

Dif top rope crossbodies Flip then he elbow drops his back.  Dif corner lariats him then flying elbows him for 2. Flip enzugiri's Dif from the apron then springboard diving headscissors him out. Flip topes Dif. Val rolls into a hurricanrana on Yut. Yut hits a styles clash on him and pins him. Yutani's team wins the fall.

2nd Fall - Yut tries to unmask Val on the buckles. Flip then does the same. Yut dropkicks Val. Flip superkicks Dif from behind and Dif is double teamed on the ropes. Val springboard diving headscissors Yut. Dif springboard dropkicks Flip out. Dif walks up the buckles and dives on Flip. Val then tope con hilos Yut outside.

Val rolls Flip into a splash. Val suplexes Flip for 2 while Dif swinging slams Yut down for 2. Flip takes corner attacks. Yut hits a canadian destroyer on Val. Dif top rope diving elbows Yut. Flip finlay rolls Dif then top rope moonsaults him. Yut top rope forgsplashes Dif then tope con hilos Val. Flip 450's Dif off the top and pins him. Yutani's team wins in 2 straight falls.

Thoughts: It was a weird one with Flip being on the heel team and Dif being on the face team here. We had a lot of flying and what we got was okay enough. It was unusual to see Flip get booed.

Jimena Sanchez presents the women's match from the crowd. 

Tag Team Lightning Match - Tessa Blanchard & Thunder Rosa vs. Olympia & Persephone

This has a 15 minute time limit.

Pers snapmares Rosa then Rosa armdrags her. Pers goes up and over and backrolls her for 2. Rosa gets a 2 count on her and they chop each other. Pers tilt-a-whirl backbreakers Rosa. Tess fliyn headscissors Pers then running back elbows her.

Tess slaps Pers. Pers shoulders her over. Tess cutters her and Olym. Olym cartwheels and basement dropkicks Tess. Rosa flying snapmares her. Rosa walks up the buckles and flying headscissors her down. Rosa dropkicks Olym on the buckles. 

Pers chokes Rosa on the 2nd rope with her foot. Pers boots Rosa in the corner. Olym corner lariats Rosa. Pers handstands on the top buckle and double knee drops Rosa there. Olym then handstand pendulum bronco busters Rosa. Pers takes down Tess and pounds on her. Tess takes a double gorilla press slam for 2.

Pers kicks Rosa in the leg. Rosa is double booted for 2. Rosa death valley drivers Pers. Olym is double spinebustered and Tess is dropped on Olym. Olym ripcord drops Rosa from her shoulder. Tess samoan drops Olym. Rosa spears Tess. 

Pers goes on the buckles and Rosa bangs Pers' head off of the buckles. Tss is in the powerbomb position and she gerans Pers down, causing her to superplex Rosa. Tiff tiger drivers Olym for 2. Rosa flying headscissors Tess out. Tiff topes Pers. Olym springboards and Rosa dropkicks her in mid-air. Rosa package side powerbombs Olym and pins her.

Thoughts: It was basically a tornado tag here with people doing whatever they wanted. They all hit their usual spots here. That tower of doom spot wasn't done well and didn't make a lot of sense. I thought it was average. 

Claudio Castagnoli does a promo. He says we are looking at the winner of the 2024 Grand Prix and the winner of tonight's Grand Prix. He says there's no one in Mexico that can beat him.

Mistico then does split screen promo. He says the best team represents CMLL. He says he will show him what Mexico is made of and says the cup is for Arena Mexico. 

Black Tiger & Black Tiger IV vs. Los Villanos (El Hijo del Villano III & Villano III Jr.)

Jr has the tattoos and Hijo doesn't.

Hijo locks up with BT. He spin kicks him in the gut. BT euros him. They armdrag each other and try to dropkick each other at the same time. Hijo hits chops on BT. Jr comes in and springboard crossbodies BT. Hijo flying armdrags BT out.

4 comes in and takes a springboard diving armdrag from Jr. 4 spin kicks Jr in the gut and is superkicked. Jr goes for a springboard, BT shakes the ropes on him and he takes a bad fall down. 4 sends Hijo into the rails. 

Jr is sent into the rails. Hijo is dropped face first on the rails. Jr is double teamed. Jr takes running corner lariats then a superkick to the face. Hijo takes a low blow. Hijo is double booted out. Hijo is then sent into the rails. Hijo is rammed crotch first into the post.

4 suplexes Jr. 4 cranks back on Jr's arm. The Tiger's then pose. BT cranks back on Jr's arm then Jr is double stomped on. Hijo is stomped on by his opponents in the corner. 4 chops Jr. Jr superkicks 4. Hijo top rope diving headscissors BT out. 

Hijo and Jr hit near stereo tope con hilos outside. 4 takes mounted corner punches from Hijo. 4 takes a superkick then a springboard leg drop + side slam combo. BT is popped up and flapjacked. BT is then held for an asai moonsault for 2.

The Tiger's take wastelands then Los Villanos miss moonsaults on them. Jr top rope moonsaults BT. 4 top rope shiranui's Hijo and pins him.

Thoughts: It was acceptable. It was a slower match than it should have been and not quite as exciting as I thought. It wasn't bad, just it could have been better. 

Grand Prix Internacional 2026 Torneo Cibernetico Match - Team International (Austin Aries, Bandido, Blake Christian, Claudio Castagnoli, DOUKI, Leon Cage, Orange Cassidy, PAC, Roderick Strong, Rohan Raja & Yujiro Takahashi) vs. Team Mexico (Angel de Oro, Barbaro Cavernario, Hechicero, Mascara Dorada, Mistico, Soberano Jr., Templario, Titan, Ultimo Guerrero, Volador Jr. & Xelhua)

The do the Mexican national anthem and a presentation with the flag before the match.

Leon and Temp go at it. They trade basic holds. Temp blocks his flying headscissors and they try to dropkick each other at the same time. They then stand off. Yujiro and Vol go at it. Yujiro side headlocks him and shoulders him over. Vol flying headscissors him for 2. Raja and Barb go at it. Raja forearms him and side headlocks him. Barb shoulders him over. Raja trips him and does a reverse STF. Raja backslides him. 

Barb chops Raja then dropkicks him. Strong and Sob go at it. Strong knees him in the gut and clubs him. Strong boots him off the ropes and backbreakers him. Strong pounds on him and chops him. Sob enzugiri's Strong from the apron then top rope tornillo's him. Sob dropkicks him and Strong goes out.

Orange and Oro go at it. Orange tries to put his hands in his pockets and Oro punches him. Orange casadora armdrags him. Orange backrolls into a spinning reverse headscissors. Xel gets in. He hits nice armdrags on Douki then he tilt-a-whirl backbreakers him twice. Xel headflips and poses.

UG and Claudio go at it. They trade shots. CC gets the edge on him with a punch flurry to the gut and chops. UG chops him several times and running shotei's him. Claudio goes out. Aries and Hech go at it. They trade chops. Hech enzugiri's him then shoulders him over. Aries ear claps him and forearms him down.

Aries takes a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker and a dropkick, which sends him to the ramp. Blake and Titan go at it. Titan tornado ddt's him but Blake no sells it. Titan springboard crossbodies him then dropkicks him to the apron. Blake handspring kicks Titan out then he fosbury flops him outside. 

Band and Morada go at it. MD flips off of his shoulders then flying headscissors him down. Pac comes in and pump kicks MD down. Mist then comes in. Pac reveals and England soccer jersey and is booed. Pac throws the jersey in Mist's face and stomps him. 

Mist spinning headscissors Pac down. Mist springboard diving headscissors him. Mist then topes him outside. The foreign team beats up Mist and every wrestler fights outside. Douki jumps off the top and sentons someone outside. 

Yujiro fisherman busters Temp. He then olympic slams him for 2. Temp walks up the ropes and springboard dropkicks Yujiro. Temp flying space tiger drops him from the ramp to to the ring. Temp pins him. Yujiro Takahashi is eliminated.

Strong is takedown and put in a la magistral by Barb for 2. Strong dropkicks Barb. Barb la rosa suplexes him. Barb kicks him in the back and springboard triangle plancha's him outside. Everyone ends up fighting outside.

Raja black hole slam slams Vol for 2. Raja sky high's Vol for 2. Vol superkicks Raja then backcrackers him. Vol pins Raja. Rohan Raja is eliminated.

Aries hits forearms on Xelhua. Xel chops back. Aries running lariats him. Xel headstand spinning reverse headscissors him from the mat twice. Aries knee drops Xel's back and hits knees to the head. Aries spinning forearms him then corner dropkicks him. Xel pumping knees him then gorilla press slams him for 2. 

Barb does his taunt and grabs Orange's hands to make him do it. Orange boots him out of the corner and Barb does the worm. Barb then mocks him but putting his hands in his trunks. Barb dropkicks him with his hands in there. Barb misses a vader bomb and Orange spinning ddt's him. Orange superman punches him and pins him despite Barb's being up. Barbaro Cavernrio is eliminated.

Leon rolls up Soberano for 2. Sob facekicks him and is dropkicked. Sob facekicks him. Leon's asai moonsault is caught. Leon poisonrana's him. Leon top rope moonsaults Sob outside. Leon misses a phoenix splash. Sob fire thunder drivers him and pins him. Leon Cage is eliminated.

Claudio comes in and drops Hech. He then stomps him. Hech crucifixes him for 2. Claudio tilt-a-whirl backbreakers him. Band comes in and hurricanrana's Vol for 2. Vol tilt-a-whirl drops him on his chest for 2. Band pump kicks him and Vol superkicks him. Band superkicks him and Vol canadian destroyers him for 2.  Band does a reverse GTS to him. Band hits a 21plex on him and pins him. Volador Jr is eliminated.

Ultimo and Blake get in. Band is down outside. Ultimo corner lariats Blake and Blake corner lariats him back. Ultimo trips him on the apron then baseball slides him off. Pac and Titan get in. Pac hits kicks on him and flying kicks him in the head. Pac pulls on Titan's mask. Pac goes up and over. Titan jumping kicks him then topes him outside. 

Temp and Strong trade forearms. Strong knees him in the gut. Temp pumping knees him. Temp misses a top rope moonsault. Strong flying knees him and does a suplex into a backbreaker. Strong pins Temp. Templario is eliminated.

Blake and Oro trade shots. Blake pump kicks him. Oro superkicks him. Blake rolls him into a splash for 2. Blake standing spanish flies him. Blake springboard 450's him for 2. Oro rolls him and does a rocking chair. Blake submits. Blake Christian is eliminated.

Claudio suplexes Dorada for 2. MD top rope moonsaults and armdragsh im. MD spinning headscissors him then topes him into an armdrag. Douki and Xel go at it. Xel hits flying headbutts. Xel holds him up in the air holding his legs and Douki goes for a pin on him. Douki's slingshot is caught and Xel does a la rosa driver on him for 2. Xel elbow drops him for 2. Xel misses a top rope swanton. Douki wheelbarrows him and dragon suplexes him off of it. Douki pins him. Xelhua is eliminated.

Aries and Mist trade shots. Mist hits kicks on him and Aries flying lariats him. Aries hits mounted shots. Mist handspring back elbows him. Mist enzugiri's him from the apron and springboard crossbodies him. Mist flying headscissors him. 

Mist walks up the buckles and is crotched up top. Mist then goes down to the floor. Aries misses a slingshot plancha and Mist topes him. Mist springboard swantons but Aries gets his knees up. Aries spinning forearms him down. Aries brainbusters him for 2. They go up top and Mist top rope spanish flies him. Mist pins Aries. Austin Aries is eliminated.

Strong flying knees Hech for 2. Hech dragon screws Strong over the 2nd rope. Hech top rope diving elbow drops him for 2. Hech rolls him into a pin attempt and pins him. Roderick Strong is eliminated.

Claudio and Titan get in. Titan hits chops on him. Claudio forearms him down. Titan hits kicks on him and spin kicks him. Titan sunset bombs him from the buckles for 2. Titan springboards and Claudio tilt-a-whirl backbreakers him. Claudio neutralizers him and pins him. Titan is eliminated.

Pac and Oro go at it. Pac buckshots over him then rebound germans him. Oro flying headscissors him. Oro 2nd rope moonsaults him outside. Ultimo and Band get in. Ultimo shoulders him over. Band top rope tornillo's him and tilt-a-whirl armdrags him. Band tope con hilos him outside. Sob comes in and fosbury flopes Band outside. Band is sent into and over the rails. Sob pulls on Band's mask. Band completely pulls Sob's mask off.  They keep fighting. Mistico gives Sob a new mask. Sob then rips Bandido's mask off. Sob hits mounted shots on Band then Band hits some as well. Refs try to separate them. They fight on the ramp and they say both are eliminated. Soberano Jr and Bandido are eliminated.

Sob and Band fight on the ramp more and go to the back eventually. Orange and Mist go at it. OC puts his hands in his pockets and Mist leg kicks him. OC hits weak leg kicks.  OC armdrags him then flying spinning headscissors him. Mist flying headscissors OC out. Douki comes in and back elbows Mist. MD top rope crossbodies Douki. MD electric chair neckbreakers him for 2.

Douki slingshot ddt's MD for 2. Douki is crotched up top. MD enzugiri's him. MD top rope corkscrew headscissors him down. MD top rope ssp's him and pins him. Douki is eliminated.

Claudio pop up euros Ultimo for 2. Ultimo 2nd rope gordbusters Claudio for 2. Claudio giant swings him. Claudio neutralizers him and pins him. Ultimo Guerrero is eliminated.

Orange is superkicked by Oro. Oro slingshot triangle asai moonsaults him for 2. Orange boots him out of the corner and Oro michinoku driversh im for 2. Orange bangs Oro's head off the buckles and top rope diving elbow drops him. Orange spinning ddt's him. Orange superman punches him and pins him. Angel de Oro is eliminated.

Orange spinning ddt's Hech. Hech spinning hammerlock backbreakers Orange. Hech surfboards OC and submits him. Orange Cassidy is eliminated.

Dorada and Pac get in. Pac overhead belly to belly suplexes him into the corner. Pac is enzugiri'd while up top. Dorada 2nd rope electric chair flips him for 2. Dorada top rope ssp's but Pac gets his knees up. Pac top rope ssp's him and pins him. Mascara Dorada is eliminated.

Claudio throws Mist in and stomps him. Mist satellite headscissors Claudio out. Mist flying headscissors Pac. Mist springboard diving headscissors Claudio outside. Mist topes Pac. 

Mist is double teamed by Claudio and Pac. Mist takes running corner attacks. Mist is popped up into a headscissors on Claudio. Mist la mistica's Claudio and Pac breaks the pin up. Mist cradles Pac for 2. 

Mist's 2nd rope crossbody is caught and Mist is backbreakered. Pac top rope double stomps Mist. Pac moonsaults Hech outside. Mist toyota roll sunset flips Claudio for 2. Mist is double teamed. Mist takes a spike neutralizer. Claudio pins Mist. Mistico is eliminated.

Hech is double teamed. He is tripped and double pounded on.  Hech step up knees Claudio in the corner. Hech flips Pac into an armbar then cradles Claudio at the same time for 2. Claudio basement dropkicks Hech. Pac foot chokes Hech then Claudio does the same. Hech lariats Claudio over the top. Hech walks up the buckles and hurricanrana's Pac down. Hech suicide dives Claudio. Hech headscissors drops Pac and pins him. Pac is eliminated.

Claudio and Pac pound on Hech. The refs kick Pac out. Claudio giant swings Hech and Pac basement dropkicks Hech as he swings. Claudio gets a 2 count on Hech. Claudio pulls on Hech's mask on the buckles then 2nd rope karelin's lifts him for 2. Claudio sunset flips him for 2. Claudio rips at his mask and takes a flying kick. Hech spinning lariats him for 2. 

Hech hits mounted corner punches. Claudio corner euros him and forearm flurries him. Claudio sleepers him. Hech stunners him then step up knees him. Hech headscissors drops him for 2. Hech sunset flips him. He puts CC in the air and pulls his arms while tying up his legs. Hech submits Claudio.

Thoughts: Hech winning was a surprise since he's not usually the most pushed guy. It was a long one as expected at 73:54. It needed to go a while so everyone could get some stuff in but it still probably didn't go long enough for everyone to do their best stuff. As always with these, people came in and out then we moved onto the next set of guys, who did their sequence and then got out. Bandido and Soberano fighting was the big news out of this one. What we got was fine and all but work wise, wasn't super memorable. The work was fine and it made enough sense, just it wasn't great.

Hech's team celebrates with him after. The foreign team comes out and claps but isn't super thrilled.

The announcers then close the show.

Overall thoughts: The opener was acceptable with Rey Pegasus looking good. Flip Gordon's match was okay enough but it was unusual as some of the face/heel roles were reversed. The women's tag match was average. The Villanos match was acceptable. The main went long as expected. It got a lot of time but we didn't really get to see anyone go all out and they didn't have any wild dive train sequences or anything like that. It was okay but it could have been shorter or had less people and not much would have been lost. I would give it a 6 out of 10 as the show was okay enough, but it wasn't great.
