We are in New York City, NY. Joe Dombrowski and Tom Lawlor are on commentary.

Josef Samael interrupts the opening video. He says Contra will take The Opera Cup, melt it down and turn it into a sabre in tribute to him. He says they will celebrate the destruction of wrestling's oldest prize. 

Zamaya vs. Lady Glory

They lock up. Zam backs her up in the corner and hits shots to the gut. Lady codebreakers her and corner lariats her. Zam blocks a step up knee and running lariats her. Lady's face is banged off the mat. Zam chokes her on the ropes. Zam corner lariats her and fisherman suplexes her. Zam running knees her for 2 then pulls her up on the count. Zam then death valley drivers her and pins her.

Thoughts: It was a short squash and not much more. It was more of what we have been seeing from Zamaya and the winner was never in doubt.

Dijak and Josh Bishop talk in the back. Dijak says Josh is a loose cannon and needs to let the captain handle things. Dijak calls him a kid and Josh says he's the man, not a kid.

We get a video on Black Tiger (Magnus, not Rocky Romero).

Matt Riddle talks to Karrior Kross and Scarlett about how crazy New York is. He then says he got a haircut and shows his short hair. He says Kross had a banger of a match with Josh Bishop and says he taught him some things about Kross to lead to his win. Matt says Kross owes him. Matt then goes to write it down so he remembers that he owes him. Scarlett says they should talk as a Contra war is coming. Matt says they got this and he's all bricked up (referencing Brick Savage). 

GBOT on do an inset promo. Joe Coffey says The Good Brothers constantly take opportunities and says they will have their opportunity(?).

Opera Cup 2026 First Round Match - Joe Coffey vs. LaBron Kozone

They lock up and let go. Bron side headlocks him and lariats him. Born side headlocks him on the mat. Joe headscissors him and Bron kips up. They trade chops. Bron back body drops him then flying pumping knees him for 2. Mark Coffey pulls Joe out and Wolfgang trips Bron while the ref isn't looking.

Joe basement dropkicks Bron and pele kicks him. Joe backbreakers him and side slams him for 2. Joe hits shots in the corner. Bron chops him. Joe takes him down. They both roll and Bron dropkicks him. Joe crabs him. Bron boots him away and Joe headbutts him. Joe finlay rolls him and misses a 2nd rope elbow drop. Joe jumps at him in the corner and is caught with a suplex.

We go to break and return. Bron hits chest kicks and punches. Bron spinning back elbows him and legsweeps him. Joe running corner dropkicks him for 2. Bron spinning slams him for 2. Mark Coffey gets on the apron and Bron nails him. Bron sends Joe out then he topes Joe and Mark outside. 

Wolfgang and Bron argue outside. Joe double jump moonsaults him for 2. Joe hits elbows and Bron germans him. Joe germans him for 2. Bron backslides him and koppo kicks him. Bron powerbombs him for 2. Bron running lariats him and pins him.

Thoughts: It was a little rushed at times and I don't think they had the best match possible. They just needed more breathing room between some of the spots here and they didn't quite get it. It's not like it was awful or anything but with more down time, there was a really good match that was possible. It was acceptable.

Opera Cup 2026 First Round Match - Anthony Greene vs. Diego Hill

AG shoulders him over and Hill immediately kips up. Hill flips over him. Hill pulls his arm over the top rope and basement dropkicks him. Hill then dances. Hill slides out and tiger feint kicks him under the bottom rope. Hill then puts a NY Knicks jersey on outside.

Hill superkicks him inside and does a weird slam on him for 2. AG half-crabs him. Hill enzugiri's him from the apron. AG cutters him over the top rope then topes him. AG takes Hill's jersey off of him. AG then spits on it.

Hill pump kicks him off the apron. Hill flying space tiger drops outside. Hill springboard spin kicks him in the corner. Hill 2nd rope twisting swantons him for 2. Hill finlay rolls him. AG release backdrops him. AG tornado kill switches him using the ropes for 2. 

AG superkicks him from the ramp. AG misses a rope walk moonsault. Hill runs the ram, jumps over the top and cutters him. Hill double jump skytwister presses him and pins him.

Thoughts: It was okay. There was a ton of flying here. Hill hit all of his spots clean though and had a decent showing. Greene put out more effort than usual as well.

Matt Riddle vs. Brick Savage

BS backs him up in the corner and swats the ref away. Matt push kicks him and gets on his back with a choke. BS throws him down. Matt hits chops and kicks. BS slams him down. 

BS hits corner lariats. BS reverse curbstomps him. Matt hits slaps and body kicks. BS lariats him down hard. Matt hits slaps and is pop up dropped. BS superkicks him. BS 2nd rope splashes him. Matt pumping knees him and hits running forearms. 

BS throws him. Matt boots him out of the corner. Matt 2nd rope twisting swantons him but he just rolls off of BS. BS then pop up powerbombs him down. BS reverse slams him and pins him.

Thoughts: It did what it was supposed to and put Brick over as the new monster around here. Matt bumped big for him and Brick threw him around as he should have. This was a little one-sided in Brick's favor. I was fine with this.

Brick pushes the ref down after and Josef Samael celebrates with Brick after. 

Overall thoughts: Zamaya won another squash. Joe Cofey/Kozone was acceptable. Green/Hill was okay. Riddle/Savage was a bit one-sided, but kudos to Riddle for putting Savage over. Brick also did his job here and looked good. The show was alright overall but there was nothing must see. I'd gibe it a low 6 out of 10.
