We are in Orlando, FL. Vic Joseph and Booker T are on commentary.

We see various wrestlers arrive. 

Wren Sinclair vs Kelani Jordan

KJ goes to do her pose and knocks her over with a hard forearm. KJ misses a corner charge and is backrolled for 2. Wren rolls her up for 2 then armdrags her twice. Wren dropkicks her. Wren suplexes her. 

KJ hits mounted forearms then Wren hits mounted shots. Wren armbars her. Wren kicks her in the arm and armbars her. Wren is sent into the buckles. KJ is pulled into the post. Wren dropkicks her under the bottom rope. 

Wren throws her out then back body drops her on the floor. We go to PiP break and return. KJ slingshot stomps Wren's leg. KJ pulls on Wren's leg. KJ standing figure fours her. KJ boots Ren over the 2nd rope then single leg crabs her over the top rope.

KJ 2nd rope flying forearms her then fisherman suplexes her. KJ boots Wren in the head. Wren hits punches on KJ. Wren back body drops her. Wren hits chops on KJ and lariats her. Wren double underhook suplexes her then gutwrench suplexes her. Wren goes up and over. KJ misses a split-legged moonsault and Wren gets a crucifix on her. KJ STF's her. KJ ties the legs up and pulls back, sending the legs in the air. Wren submits.

Thoughts: It was a shorter bout and they kept the pace moving. Wren hurt her leg during the match and KJ worked it to win. It was made sense and was fine. Wren usually loses and she lost here.

Tatum Paxley talks to Lizzy Rain in the back. Lizzy says she's not going to sit back while Zaria rampages. She says she won't be collateral damage. Shiloh Hill comes in. Hill's petition is going well in his words. Tristan Angels comes in. He says Hill's petition is a sham. He says pageants require order to win and there's a strict process with judges. He says he hopes Dempsey stretches sense into Hill today. Rain says she needs to go after Zaria.

Darkstate come out after dumping Sayquon Shugars. OG says Shugars was the odd man out as he wasn't a college football standout. Dion says Shugars only had indy wrestling and says he was the last pick in wrestling. OG says Shugars always chose the path of most resistance. Cutler says they gave Shugars many chances to get back on track but he became a liability. He says he's wreckless and never understands consequences. CUtler says he failed.

Dion says he knew the play when he saw what happened with Shugars. He says Shugars tried to turn his brothers against him. Shugars says he's not acting like he's better than him, he just is. He says the machine they build is for all of them. He says there's no Darkstate without Dion. Dion says he built it brick by brick and won't let Shugars tear it down. OG says it's time to going back to what they do best. Dion says Darkstate is back and The Vanity Project and others better keep their heads up. Dion says if you thought nobody was safe before, you haven't seen a thing yet.

Wren and Kendall are in medical. The doc is going to order an MRI. Lola Vice says Wren will be ok. Kali Armstrong comes in and says Wren isn't the cocky girl she used to be. Kali look at Lola's title and says it's her motivation. Lola asks if she has a big head already and Kali says maybe.

WWE NXT Men's Speed Tournament 1st Round - Sean Legacy vs Dorian Van Dux

Dux side headlocks him. SL trips him on a drop down, double stomps his back and dropkicks him. Sean topes him, Dux doesn't catch him as planned but throws him into the post. Dux slingshot legdrops him for 2. Sean enzugiri's him in the corner and hits a shiranui for 2.

Sean misses a springboard and is flipped with a lariat. Dux powerbombs him for 2. Dux pops him up and is ddt'd. Sean 619's him. Sean hurricanrana's him off the buckles. Dux gets his feet up on Sean's springboard 450. Dux springboards and is dropkicked down. 

Dux spinning forearms him. Dux enzugiri's him from the apron. Sean hits a top rope spanish fly and the time runs out.

Thoughts: It was a rushed match with them not selling much and needing to move onto the next spot quick due to the time being limited here.

Layla Diggs and Natalya talk. Nat thanks her for standing up against Jaida last week. Nat says she wants to be in her corner watching her beat Jaida tonight.

Jaida Parker vs Layla Diggs

Natalya is with LD. LD side headlocks her. JP hammerlocks her. JP full nelsons her and LD splits out of it. LD dances at her. JP trips her and hits mounted shots. LD spin kicks her in the gut and takes her down. JP lariats her down.

LD leg lariats her then knee drops and leg drops her. LD chin and armlocks her. JP armdrags her. JP chops her and hits lariats. JP slaps her then gordbusters her. LD is put on the 2nd rope and is step up buttdropped down. LD flips out of lariat and jumping heel kicks her.

LD misses a top rope moonsault. JP running hiptosses her. JP sitout chokeslam bombs her and pins her.

Thoughts: Layla got to do more than she usually does and busted out some things I didn't see before from her. She lost as expected though. It was average.  

The Birthright are interviewed. King says Dempsey will make an example of Hill tonight when he tears him limb by limb. He says he's not worried about the Speed tournament as he's the fastest man alive. Nathan Frazer and Axiom come in. They question King being the fastest then talk about the world cup.

We get a video on Tony D'Angelo.

Tony D'Angelo comes out and talks. Tony says we've had new talents on NXT and it spices things up. He says when they get here, they want to take shots at him. Tony says it's his chance next week as he faces Kam Hendrix. He says Kam won't be champ next week. 

Tony says it's time him and Naraku go face to face. Naraku comes out. Tony tells Naraku to admit he want an NXT Title shot. Nara says he's here to keep Tony and his title safe. Tony asks him if he's supposed to believe what he's saying. Tony says he will take care of Kam next week then handle Naraku. Naraku says he will make sure he stays champ as it's their destiny to go to war.

Kam Hendrix comes out. He says Tony changed his life around and only has 7 days left as champ. He says it's lights, Kam, action next week. He says Tony is the #1 star of NXT but says he's running into a buzzsaw he can't stop next week. He says he's the fastest rising star in NXT history. He says he beat 2 champs next week and will destroy a pillar of NXT.

Tony says Kam is confident and asks if he thinks he's the first around here. Tony says Kam looks at the title as a status signal that he can parade around with. Tony says he sacrificed everything to get the title. He says Kam was given a title match and didn't earn it. He says he will have to rip his heart out to take the title. He says they both know it won't happen. Kam goes to hit Tony, Naraku stops Kam then hits him and sends him out. Naraku then bows to Tony. 

Tavion Heights and Myles Borne talk. Tav says he's sorry about last week. Borne says if he doesn't slow down, he will make both of them crash and burn. Borne says he's his brother but doesn't understand the results of last week. Darkstate then jump them. Tav is thrown over a table and Borne is sent into the wall.

The Vanity Project talk in the back. Drake puts over them defending the tag titles. They run into Tate Wilder, who is playing with his motorcycle. They ask how long he will be out after Keanu. He says he won't be out at all. Drake says Tate has a lot to earn. Myka want to hit Tate. Tate challenges Drake to face him next week. Drake says he doesn't want that and Tate says he lives for it. 

WWE NXT Men's Speed Tournament Finals - Nathan Frazer vs Romeo Moreno

Since the other Speed match was a draw, both advance to the finals. NF flying single leg dropkicks him then tope con hilos him. RM boots him out of the corner and top rope dropkicks him. RM crossfaces him. NF rolls him up for 2 and flying knees him. NF 2nd rope flipping russian legsweeps him for 2. RM backrolls him, springboards and is caught with a superkick for 2. 

NF takes a 2nd rope release german. RM northern lights suplexes him and is hit with a twisting suplex. RM headscissors him out. RM spaceman plancha's him outside. They go up top and NF slips on a superplex. RM holds on and cradles him and pins him.

Thoughts: It was a shorter one and there wasn't time to even really sell. They went at it fast here. RM winning was an upset and seemed to have maybe hurt his ankle after a dive here.

NF holds up RM's arm after. Birthright look at them from the riser.  

Izzi Dame says she will become the new champ tonight and says Niko and Spears will win the match. She asks where Spears is. Niko says he hopes he's getting ready.

Robert Stone talks to Mason Rook. He says he should be in the title match. Stone says he's glad Rook did what he did to Kam. Stone says stats will always show Kam beat Borne and that's why he's got a title match. Stone says he could still be in title contention. Rook says maybe he has to do something about it.

Naraku comes in and says he won't do anything. He says he won't let him ruin the match.

OTM come out and Shawn Spears chairs them. Niko yells at him and asks why he did that. 

The interviewer talks to Kali Armstrong. She says it's only a matter of time until she's chap and she will pick her spot. She says she wants to go after both titles. Thea Hail says it's everyone's dream but it's not that easy. Kali says it's a reality that Thea and the others will have to deal with.

Shiloh Hill asks Zaria to sign his petition. She says no and tells him to have his creepy friend Tatum sign it. Hill says to be more worried about Lizzy Rain. Rain attacks Zaria from behind and they fight. 

Charlie Dempsey vs Shiloh Hill

CD side headlocks him. Hill slams him. CD side headlock takeovers him. Hill flying shoulders him over. CD armbars him. Hill back body drops him. Hill grabs sunglasses and top rope diving lariats him. Hill lariats CD over the top.

We go to PiP break and return. Hill hiptosses him then hits shots in the corner. CD forearms him down then double underhook suplexes him. CD goes for the armbar. CD hits elbows to the head. Hill powerbombs him down. 

Hill running forearms him. Hill slams him down then standing inverted flips on him for 2. CD boots him out of the corner. Hill lariat him. CD germans him. Hill pump kicks him. CD knee lifts him then Hill pop up forearms him.

Hill northern lights suplexes him. CD tries to bridge up but Hill holds him down and pins him.

Thoughts: That finish was interesting here. It was a bit of a styles clash and Hill's style won out a bit more here. It wasn't anything too special.  

Tristan Angels comes out. He says he needs to teach Hill a lesson as he can't hack it in his domain. He says Stone agreed to hold a Mr. NXT pageant in 2 weeks. He says he will prove he is not worthy of calling himself Mr. NXT. Hill says he can't wait to embarrass him.

Izzi Dame yells at Spears for jumping OTM. Spears says she's right. Izzi says he made the right call and don't worry about it. Niko says they will take care of it.

WWE NXT Women's Title - Lola Vice (c) vs Izzi Dame

Izzi rams her in the corner and hits corner spears. Izzi short arm lariats her. Izzi stomps on her. Lola gets on her back and is rammed into the corner. Lola superkicks her then kicks her in the gut. Lola hits her in the gut and seated springboard armdrags her. Lola spin kicks her in the gut then la silla's her off the apron.

Spears trips up Lola and Izzi backcrackers Lola. OTM come out to fight Spears and Niko. We go to break and return. Lola hits a kick combo on her. Lola corner hip attacks her. Izzi facekicks her down. Izzi sky high's her for 2. Lola knees her in the face. Izzi rams Lola's back into the post. Lola hits downward elbows on her and tries to roll her into an armbar. Izzi crabs her and Lola boots her away. 

Izzi boots her out of the corner. Izzi comes off the 2nd rope and is booted. Izzi flying knees the ref when Lola moves. They double clothesline each other down. They trade shots. Lola hits spin kicks to the gut then uraken's her. The ref is down and is late to the count.

Izzi grabs the NXT Women's Title. She throws it at Lola then facekicks her for 2. Lola guillotines her in the air. Lola urakens her and pins her.

Thoughts: It was acceptable. Lola did a lot of strikes as usual. They seemed to have messed up the spot where Izzi threw the title at her. OTM coming out wasn't too surprising. I'm curious as to what comes out of this as they were definitely teasing issues with The Cullin tonight.

Darkstate are happy outside. They say Darkstate is back. Cutler says they will finish the job next week and come for all the gold. We then see Shugars on a shipping box outside.

Overall thoughts: It's not a strong period for NXT and these shows are only going to be so great because of it. Wren/Kelani was fine. The Speed matches were short sprints, as they were designed to be. Diggs/Jaida was average. Dempsey/Hill wasn't anything special and the main was only acceptable. I'd say Kali Armstrong's and Kam Hendrix's stocks are up though and I think Dorian Van Dux will be okay too. I'd give it a 5 out of 10. There was nothing too great here and I think it may be a while before there is. This was average.
