CMLL 5/29/2026 Viernes Espectacular

The announcer welcomes us to the show and talks about how CMLL will be running 7 days a week in June and July.

Oro Jr., Pantera Jr. & Pendulo vs. Estudiante Jr., Robin & Sangre Imperial

Pen and Sangre go at it. Pen arm throws him. Sangre armdrags him. Pen gori specials him and Sangre rolls him into a pin attempt. Sangre armdrags him and chops him. Sangre headbutts him. Pant comes in with a slingshto headscissors on Sangre. Robin comes in and he has Brazo's gear on today. Pant arm rolls him then flying headscissors him. EJ comes in and corner lariats Pant. EJ then lariats him down.

EJ shoulders Pant out. Oro springboard crossbodies EJ. EJ gets his by his partners on a failed double team. Oro  then flying headscissors Robin down. Oro walks up the buckles and diving headscissors Robin from the apron to the floor. Pen misses a springboard crossbody. Pen is tripped and kicked in the arm.

Oro is double teamed then triple stomped on. Oro takes corner splashes and a spinebuster. Oro's legs are split and he is dropkicked in the butt. EJ is popped up and double basement dropkicked. Oro flying headscissors Sangre then Robin superkicks Oro. Pant jumps off Oro's back and hits a flying headscissors. Pen springboard tornillo armdrags EJ. Pen then tilt-a-whirl backbreakers Sangre and Pant does the same. Sangre is triple superkicked out.

Pen walks up the ropes and springboard headscissors EJ down. Pen is throw into the ropes and he headscissors EJ off of it again. Pen top rope tornillo armdrags Sangre out. Robin headbutts Pant down. Pant springboard crossbodies Robin. Pant diving tilt-a-whirl armdrags Robin off the top. Pant then spinning armdrags EJ out.

Sangre is back body dropped out by Pant. Pen and Oro hit springboard plancha's while Pant asai moonsaults out. Sangre's team hits 2 spears and a facekick.EJ misses a corner charge and goes out. Pant wastelands Sangre. Pen springboard twisting swantons and Oro top rope moonsaults out. Pant top rope diivng meteora's Sangre and pins him.

Thoughts: Pantera had a lot of sloppy moments but everyone else did fine. They gotta put the leash on Pant soon as there's too much he struggles to do cleanly. This bout also went a bit long for an opener. I liked it otherwise though as we had a lot of flying and they really put out a strong effort for the opener. 

Skadi & Tessa Blanchard vs. Olympia & Sanely

1st Fall - Skadi and Olym trade some holds on the mat. Olym sunset flips her for 2. Skadi headbutts Olym then Skadi enzugiri's her from behind. Skadi hits a stiff crossbody on her. Sane comes in and casadora bulldogs Skadi. Tess comes in and side headlocks Sane. Tess bangs Sane's head off the buckles.

Tess punches Sane in the corner. Tess then boots her in the head. Tess tries a slingshot splash but Sane gets her knees up. Sane corner crossbodies Tess. Olym springboard crossbodies Skadi. Olym and Sane get 2 counts. Skadi is sat on the 2nd rope and Sane top rope diving meteora's her. Olym gorilla press drops Tess onto Skadi. Olym and Sane get stereo pins. Olympia's team wins the fall.

2nd Fall - Olym stomps on Skadi. Olym kicks Tess in the crotch. Tess takes running corner attacks. Sane backdrops Tess then Olym basement dropkicks Tess. Skadi is sat against the bottom rope and Olym slingshot dropkicks her. Olym then slingshot elbow drops her. Tess gets double teamed and she is dropped gut first onto Sane's knees.

Skadi double boots the heels out of the corner then double splashes them. Tess dogpiles but they only get 2 counts. Tess cutters Olym three times and pins her. Skadi's team wins the fall.

3rd Fall - Olym takes a double dropkick in tree of woe. Sane takes a gordbuster and a basement dropkick. Olym pop up hurricanrans's Skadi. Tess then tiger drivers Olym for 1. Sane electric chair drivers Tess for 2.  

Sane tries to crossbody Skadi but Skadi doesn't badge. Skadi sentons her for 2. Olym and Skadi then crossbody each other at the same time for 2 counts. Olym gorilla presses Tess on the apron and throws her onto Skadi outside. Olym misses an apron plancha then Tess topes Olym. 

Skadi is on the 2nd rope. Sane is supposed to miss a top rope move on her but Sane just doesn't hit it as Skadi forgets to move. Skadi michinoku drivers Sane and pins her. Skadi's team wins the fall and match.

Thoughts: I wasn't a big fan of it. It was disjointed and the flow wasn't there. They had some sloppy moments here with the finish also kind of being botched.

Lightning Match - El Hijo del Villano III vs. Hijo De Blue Panther

V3 side headlock takeovers him. Blue flips him by the wrist. V3 flips him over his back and gori specials him. Blue sunset flips him for 2. V3 superkicks Blue in the gut then Blue armdrags him. V3 then stalls outside. V3 gets back in and is pulled out. Blue cannonballs him off the apron.

Blue armdrags him in the ring into a pin attempt for 2. Blue northern lights suplexes him for 2. V3 slams Blue then asai moonsaults him for 2. V3 lariats Blue over the top then tope con hilos him outside. 

V3 then top rope elbow drops him inside for 2. Blue lays on the apron and V3 top rope splashes him there. V3 is on the buckles. Blue tries to handstand hurricanrana him down and eventually does for a 2 count. Blue low flying knees him for 2. V3 is on the 2nd rope and Blue enzugiri's him. Blue superplexes him for 2.

V3 superkicks him then is bodyscissored over the top. Blue tope con hilos him outside. lue top rope splashes V3 for 2. Blue misses a corner splash then V3 hits mounted corner punches. V3 misses a 2nd rope moonsault. V3 2nd rope double underhook slams him and pins him.

Thoughts: I didn't like it. V3 stalling during a lightning match with a limited time limit was kind of silly. They just did whatever they wanted here for the most part and it was a bunch of random spots and moves that didn't always fit in.

El Cobarde & Los Hermanos Chavez (Angel de Oro & Niebla Roja) vs. Los Hermanos Calavera (Calavera Jr. I & Calavera Jr. II) & Soberano Jr.

Cal = Either Calavera Jr as they are too hard to tell apart.

1st Fall - Roja and a Cal go at it. Cal hammerlock him then throws him over by the arm. Roja legdrops his leg. Cal flying snpamares him then is shouldered over. Cal standing moonsaults him. Roja hits some shots on Cal then Cal flying headscissors him. Cal then gets triple stomped on. Roja chops Cal in the corner. 

Cal walks up the buckles and diving susnet flips Roja. The other Cal comes in. Cal flying shoulders Roja then Cal is ganged up on from behind. Sob top rope double crossbodies his opponents then flying headscissors Cob. Sob is hiptossed into the ropes and he does a reverse headscisors off of it. Oro dropkicks Sob then pounds on him. Sob and a Cal take mounted corner shots. 

A Cal takes a michinoku driver then a top rope Cob swanton. Cob pins Cal. El Cobarde's team wins the fall. 

2nd Fall - Sob is triple teamed in the ring and Roja unties his mask. Sob is popped up into a double gut kick. A Cal is held for a kick to the leg from Roja. Cal takes a double burning hammer onto his chest. Cob springboard dropkicks him. A Cal is double teamed on the ropes with Oro biting his fingers. A Cal takes a triple boot. 

Oro and Sob make peace and hug then Sob is triple stomped on. A Cal is then triple teamed. Cob get double chopped by his partners on accident. A Cal walks up the ropes and does an armdrag + headcissors takeover. The Cal's do stereo asai moonsaults outside. Sob top rope tornillo's Cob and pins him. Soberano Jr.'s team wins the fall. 

3rd Fall - Sob superkicks Cob over. Oro is kicked in the gut. Oro takes a reverse rocking chair then a Sob legdrop. Roja is then triple stomped on. Oro takes a double basement dropkick. A Cal flying headscissors Oro then the other Cal top rope diving armdrags Roja. Sob top rope diving headscissors Cob. Sob and The Cal's then hit triple tope con hilos outside. 

Roja spinning forearms Sob down. Cob is popped up and flying headscissors Sob out. Cob then tope con hilos Sob. A Cal flying headscissors Oro. A Cal then top rope moonsaults Oro outside. Roja hits a 2nd rope jade end on a Cal and pins him. El Cobarde's team wins the fall and match.

Thoughts: It was alright and one of the better matches on the show. They mostly followed the face/heel structure and both teams got enough in. We also got a decent bit of flying here. Angel de Oro did very little here.

Averno & Esfinge vs. Mascara Dorada & Volador Jr.

1st Fall - Esf takes down Vol and Vol spinning reverse headscissors him. Av comes in and boots Vol down. Av then beats up Vol outside. Vol is sent into the rails. Esf unmasks MD. Av rams Vol crotch first into the post. Esf pop-up drops MD then superkicks him. Esf unties MD's mask then Av unties it. 

Vol is beaten up on the ramp and double stomped there. Esf kicks MD hard in the head and Av hits an angel's wings. Esf and Av pick up stereo pins. Averno's team wins the fall.

2nd Fall - Vol is kicked in the leg by Av. Vol is double booted out then sent into the rails. MD is crotched on the rails and Esf knees him in the head. Vol flying headscissors Av. Vol is then double stomped on. 

MD takes corner attacks and Esf monkey flips MD. MD is sat on the apron and takes a hard dropkick down to the floor. Vol top rope crossbodies Av then toyota roll sunset bombs him. Vol pins Av. Volador Jr.'s team wins the fall.

3rd Fall - Vol puts a mask on and flying headscissors Esf out. Vol then takes the mask off. Vol spinning headscissors Av out. Esf and MD go at it. MD flips out of a monkey flip then handsprings into the ropes. MD is flipped into a headscissors + armdrag combo. 

MD jumps off of Av and headscissors Esf down. MD corkscrew headscissors Av. MD and Vol hit stereo topes outside. Vol is popped up and hurricanrana's Esf. Vol and MD try stereo pins for 2 counts. Av and Esf miss moves off the top rope. MD and Vol hit stereo code red's for 2 counts.

Esf hits kicks on Vol and drops him with a superkick. MD electric chair neckbrakers Esf for 2. Av powerbombs MD for 2. Vol superkicks Av then backcrackers him for 2. Esf and Av get stereo 2 counts on their opponents. MD top rope spanish flies Av while Vol canadian destroyers Esf. MD and Vol both get 2 counts. 

MD top rope crossbodies Av. MD top rope ssp's Av and pins him. Volador Jr.'s team wins the fall and match.

Thoughts: I didn't like it. They spend every show pushing that Esfinge is one of their top level faces and he was a heel here against Dorada, who he is usually friendly with. There wasn't a reason for it either since this wasn't for a title or anything.  It was also a longer bout and all of the stereo moves made it hard to follow along.

Copa Jr. VIP 2026 Final Match - Villano III Jr. vs. Zandokan Jr.

Zand misses a chop and they mat wrestle. They shove each other. V3 trips him and hits mounted shots. Zand side headlocks him. V3 boots Zand in the corner and springboard tornillo's him. V3 tilt-a-whirl armdrags him out. V3 goes for a springboard and is crotched up top. Zand chops him down.

Zand lariats him for 2. Zand throws him out then sends him into the rails. Villano 4 is in the front row and Zand talks smack to him. They each hit some shots in side. Zand sitout back body drops him for 2. Zand chops V3. V3 springboard dropkicks Zand. V3 then springboard swantons him outside. V3 springboard double stomps. 

V3 wastelands him. V3 tries a top rope moonsault and Zand gets his feet up. Zand puts him on his back and does a flatliner off of it. V3 springboard diving cutters Zand for 2. V3 is sent to the ramp. Zand heatseeker piledrivers him over the 2nd rope for 2. Zand chops V3 in the corner. V3 springboards and is tripped on the top rope. V3 springboard dropkicks him on the apron. V3 misses a 2nd rope moonsault and splats onto the floor when Zand moves. 

They go back in and Zand tiger drivers him for 2. V3 canadian destroyers him for 2. Zand rolls him up for 2. Zand takes a step up knee in the corner. V3 does a jay driller on Zand. V3 handstans seated springboard moonsaults Zand and pins him.

Thoughts: They kind of went right to the big moves to start. I thought the moonsault splat bump on the floor was pretty stupid as was the top rope dropkick on the apron, as that had to hurt. They didn't really sell a lot here and it wasn't a smart match. I was hoping they would brawl, strike and heel it up on each other a lot more than they did. I didn't like this one.

V3 is given the cup after and his brother celebrates with him. 

Overall thoughts: The opener was alright minus Pantera Jr., who I do like. He was just too sloppy. The women's match was messy. The lightning match was a bit of a free for all and had dumb stuff like them stalling when they only had 10 minutes. I liked the Hermanos Chavez vs Hermanos Calavera trios match and it was probably the best match on the show. I didn't like the semi-main as the babyface Esfigne was being a heel here to Dorada, who he teams up with and has no problems with any other time. They went straight to the big stuff in the main and they didn't really get the rudo vs rudo concept down like they should have. I'd give it a 4 out of 10. I didn't enjoy it that much and there was a lot of structure missing all up and down this card. It was below average.
