CMLL 5/8/2026 Viernes Espectacular

The announcer welcomes us to the show as usual.

La Ola Negra (Dark Magic, Espanto Jr. & Gallero) vs. Atrapasuenos (Espiritu Negro & Rey Cometa) & Fuego

EJ = Espanto Jr.

Negro and EJ go at it. They go to the mat and EJ does a reverse triangle. Negro armdrags him after being put in an armlock. Gal and Fuego get in. Gal throws him down by the arm and kimura rolls him. Fuego backrolls into a spinning reverse headscissors. Fuego bridges out of a lariat. Fuego 2nd rope diving headscissors him. Rey top rope crossbodies Dark. Dark corner splashes him.

Dark's head is banged off the buckles. EJ trips Rey and pulls him out. Dark is then pulled out. Rey's team does triple stereo tope con hilos outside. Gal tope con hilos outside. Fuego is double teamed then takes corner splashes. Fuego takes a triple basement dropkick for 2.

Rey takes corner attacks. Rey is catapulted into a death valley driver. Dark sentons Rey for 2. Negro is triple stomped on. Negro walks up the rope and crossbodies Gal. Rey slingshot splashes Gal. Fuego springboard splashes all 3 opponents then Negro does the same. the faces go for a triple pin but the ref says no. The faces all get pin attempts in on the heels for 2 counts. The heels then get a triple pin attempt in.

Rey is popped up into a double dropkick. Rey and Negro put their arms around each other and tope con hilo out together. Fuego leglocks Dark and submits him. Fuego's team wins the match.

Thoughts: The finish wasn't good. That leglock looked bad and Dark submitted to it quick. It was fine otherwise as it didn't go too long and the faces got a few dives in. Rey and Negro's combo dive where they hugged each other and did tope on hilos was a new spot. 

Brillante Jr. & Diamond vs. Los Hermanos Calavera (Calavera Jr. I & Calavera Jr. II)

1st Fall - A Cal locks up with Dia. Cal waistlock takedowns him. Dia armbars him. Dia armdrags him. Brill springboard double crossbodies The Cal's. Brill sends them into a each other and flying headscissors one of them. Brill then handsprings and backflips into a reverse spinning headscissors on the other. Dia springboard diving armdrags a Cal. Dia slingshot flips into a headscissors on a Cal. He then corkscrew headscissors a Cal.

Dia chases a Cal outside then takes a dropkick through the ropes from the other Cal. Brill takes a double underhook suplex then an asai moonsault. A Cal springboard swantons him and pins him. Los Hermanos Calavera win the fall.

2nd Fall - Brill is double stomped on. Brill takes a double spinebuster then double kicks. Dia comes in and is pounded on and stomped on. Dia takes a double flying elbow and a double elbow drop. Dia takes a double basement dropkick. Dia avoids corner attacks. Brill springboard dropkicks a Cal off the apron then Brill tope con hilos that Cal. Dia flying headscissors the other Cal and rolls him in a camel clutch. Dia submits him. Diamond's team wins the fall.

3rd Fall - Brill pump kicks a Cal. Cal blocks a flying headscissors and hits a sitout powerbomb. Dia goes for a pin and takes a springboard swanton. Dia is bridged on the top rope and a Cal top rope swantons him. Brill hurricanrana's a Cal and Dia springboard sunset flips the other Cal. Both get 2 counts. The faces hit stereo hurricanrana's but The Cal's turn them into pin attempts. 

Brill canadian destroyers a Cal on the apron. Dia then topes that Cal. Brill split-legged moonsaults the other Cal and pins him. Diamond's team wins the fall and match.

Thoughts: I was surprised to see Los Calavera lose here since they have been pushed hard. Brill and Dia are kind of a newer team too. What we got here was alright but this would have benefited from a little less time. 

They do a tribute video for La Caverneria, who passed away. They hold her ashes up in the ring.

Keyra, Reyna Isis & Zeuxis vs. Kira, La Jarochita & Tessa Blanchard

Z - Zeuxis

1st Fall - Reyna and Jaro go at it. They trade some holds and Jaro armdrags her into an armlock. Reyna armdrags her. Jaro throws her then armdrags her. Jaro basement dropkicks her. Jaro flying headscissors Z. Z slaps her then kicks her in the head. 

Z throws Kira by the hair. Kira jumps off an opponent and headscissors Z. Kira then 619's Z for 2. Keyra gets in. Kira armdrags her. Keyra blocks a flying headscissors and rolls her up for 2. Keyra kicks Kira in the butt. Keyra is tripped into the ropes. Kira headscissors her. Keyra crabs Kira.

Keyra nails Tess then Tess flying headscissors her. Tess slingshot splashes Keyra for 2. Tess takes a double basement dropkick. Kira armbars Keyra and Jaro pins Tessa. La Jarochita's team wins the fall.

2nd Fall - Jaro is double teamed in the corner. Tess codebreakers her. Jaro takes a double dropkick. Z giant swings Kira into a basement dropkick from Keyra. Keyra gets a 2 count on Kira. Tess is swung and dropped onto her chest. Jaro gets double teamed. 

Kira is popped up into a double dropkick. Jaro and Kira hit stereo topes outside. Tess cutters Keyra three times and pins her. La Jarochit's team wins the fall and math. 

Thoughts: It was a fast paced on and a little rushed. I was surprised to see Jaro's team win in 2 straight falls. Kira was hustling here. It was fine. 

El Elemental, El Terrible, Explosivo & Maquina Letal vs. Los Viajeros Del Espacio (Futuro, Hombre Bala Jr., Max Star & Valiente Jr.)

Maquina Letal is one of the wrestlers under a new gimmick. It may be Adrenalina. The faces got beaten up all throughout the first fall (Which they lost) and most of the second fall. The faces finally made their comeback and picked up double pins to win the second fall. Viajeros del Espacio wear similar colors and it's very hard to tell them apart, so I didn't even want to attempt it here. Maquina ended up winning this one in the third fall or his team with a piledriver on Val. It wasn't boring, but it was a rushed match where they mostly did whatever. This would have been better as a trios match.

Lightning Match - Black Tiger vs. Neon

Tiger spears him in mid-air and pounds on him. Neon corkcrew headscissors Tiger out then topes him. Neon springboard crossbodies Tiger. Tiger misses a corner spear and goes into the post. Neon tope con hilos Tiger outside. Neon runs the ramp for a springboard dive but Tiger mists him while he's on the ropes.

Tiger sentons his back for 2. Tiger crucifix bombs him for 2. Tiger lays on the top rope and Neon springboard double stomps him. Tiger is on the 2nd rope and Neon moonsault tilt-a-whirl armdrags him down. Neon canadian destroyers him for 2. They go up on the ropes and Neon top rope hurricanrana's him down for 2. 

Tiger full nelson slam's him. Tiger is on the apron and Neon flying headscissors him over the top to the floor. Neon blind walks up the buckles and moonsaults Tiger outside. Neon top rope inverted flip dives Tiger and pins him.

Thoughts: I liked it. It only went 7:41 and had a lot of action. Tiger really should have been DQ'd for openly misting Neon, thought they got out of Neon having to do his blind double springboard moonsault from it. Neon won as he was the bigger name but I don't know if it's Tiger's best interest to be losing these types of matches right now.  

We get an ad for Mitos En El Ring. I don't know what it is but it looks interesting. It seems like a comic or cartoon thing with AI and unknown wrestlers.

Mistico & Titan vs. Angel de Oro & Barbaro Cavernario

Mistico wore a BTS jacket out. BTS is a Korean boy band group and they are there at the event.

1st Fall - Mist goes to greet the fans and Barb boots him. Titan gets in. Barb hits kicks on him. Titan chops him and Barb knocks him down with a punch. Barb wristlocks him. Titan cartwheels and headflips out then armdrags him. Titan dropkicks him out. 

Titan boots Oro out of the corner then Mist springboard crossbodies Oro. Oro shoulders Mist over. Mist armdrags and flying headscissors Oro. Barb dropkis Mist out. Titan and Oro hit superkicks. Mist springboard diving headscissors Oro out. 

Barb back body drops Mist out. Oro and Barb stomp Mist on the floor. Barb hits lariats on Mist inside for 2. Barb and Oro then rip on Mist's mask.  

Barb chop flurries Mist in the corner then the heels double stomp on Mist. Mist takes a slingshot swanton. Barb springboard splashes Mist and pins him. Barb's team wins the fall.

2nd Fall - The heels beat up the faces on the ramp. KeMalito, who is with the heels, dropkicks Mist on the ramp. Oro tries to unmask Mist on the ropes. Barb does the same to Titan. Oro corner lariats Mist then basement dropkicks him. Titan is kicked in the leg. Oro PK's Titan.

Mist flying headscissors Barb. Oro then tomps on Mist. Oro punches and chops down Mist. Mist is popped up into a headscissors on Barb. Oro spin kicks Mist in the gut. Mist walks up the buckles and plancha's Barb outside.

Titan hits kicks on Oro. Then he AA's him into a neckbreaker. Titan top rope double stomps Oro and pins him. Mistico's team wins the fall. 

3rd Fall - Titan hits kicks on Oro. Titan gordbusters him and upkicks him. Titan walks up the buckles, does rope tricks and does a springboard diving headscissors + armdrag on the heels. Mist sends the heels into each other. Mist 619's Oro then springboard diving headscissors Barb. Mist springboard diving headscissors Oro. Mist and Titan hit stereo topes outside.

Mist flying headscissors Barb out. Mist then tornillo dives him outside. Titan rolls up Oro for 2. Titan tope con hilos Oro outside. Mist springboard crossbodies Barb then la mistica's him. Mist submits him immediately. Mistico's team wins the fall and match.

Thoughts: There was no reason to expect Mist's team was losing here. I had no issue with this. They kept it moving and it never really turned into the tornado tag that a lot of these bouts end up being. The faces flew a bit, the heels did some basic heeling and the match ended. It was no one's best effort by any means and definitely the standard Mistico match, but it was timed well and worked. This was okay.  

Overall thoughts: I'm not sure what was going on here but it was a shorter show. Everything for the most part was rushed. Nothing got a lot of time and they didn't try to do anything great. I have no idea why either. It was a forgettable and unimportant show for the most part. I liked the main the best but it was just the usual Mistico match. I'd give this a 5 out of 10 as everything as this was a very average show. I would not recommend this at all.
