Eddie Kingston & Ortiz vs. The Infantry (Carlie Bravo & Shawn Dean)
Bravo hits punches on Ortiz and Ortiz leg lariats him. Ortiz slams him. Ortiz takes a jawbreaker into a slingshot spear. Dean pounds on Ortiz.
Ortiz is double teamed in the corner. Eddie tries to help out and the ref pulls him away. Ortiz takes down Dean and hits shots. Bravo then bangs Ortiz's head off the buckles. Bravo punches, chops and clubs Ortiz then puts him in tree of woe to do it. Ortiz bites his hand. Dean then stomps Ortiz as he hangs and Eddie goes after him. Ortiz takes a double dropkick in tree of woe for 2.
Bravo stomps Ortiz's hand. Ortiz is slammed. Dean hits some elbow drops for 2. Dean armbars Ortiz's arm. Dean takes a jawbreaker then he lariats Ortiz. Bravo crossover punches Ortiz. Dean bronco busters Ortiz.
Dean chinlocks Ortiz on the mat. Bravo chinlocks Ortiz. Ortiz backdrops Dean. Eddie tags in. Eddie chops his opponents then hits corner lariats. Eddie chop flurries them. Ortiz spinebusters Bravo. Dean takes a russian legsweep + STO combo for 2. Dean backcrackers Eddie. Ortiz takes the powerplex for 2.
Ortiz takes a backdrop + neckbreaker for 2. Eddie exploders Bravo. Ortiz rolls up Dean and pins him.
Thoughts: It was a good match. The heels were simple but effective and really just ganged up on the faces. Eddie got his hot tag in and the faces slipped away with this.
Shane Taylor helps The Infantry beat up Eddie and Ortiz after. Mance Warner comes in with a chair and saves Eddie and Ortiz.
Pure Rules Match - Josh Woods vs. BEEF
Beef side headlocks him and they shoulder battle. Beef side headlocks him and Josh shoulder throws him into an armbar. Beef ropebreaks and uses his first ropebreak. Josh takes him down by the arm.
Beef knocks Josh off the apron with a closed fist and gets issued a warning. Beef suplexes him. Josh boots him then backdrops him. Josh exploders him.
Josh germans him for 2. Josh wristlocks him. Beef cartwheels and dropkicks him. Beef hits corner lariats. Beef bulldogs him. Beef 2nd rope crossbodies him for 2. Josh trips him then ankle locks him. Josh rolls him and ties up his legs. Beef submits.
Thoughts: They were going fast so I knew their time was limited. I liked what we got here and the two seemed to work together well. They pushed that Beef didn't know how to work under pure rules here.
Deonna Purrazzo says she knows Diamante is watching. She says all Dia can do is copy her. She says she became a multi-time world champ traveling the world as a pure rules wrestler before the Pure Rules Title was created. She dares her to put her in the fujiwara armbar at Supercard of Honor and see what happens.
Bang Bang Gang (Ace Austin & Juice Robinson) vs The WorkHorsemen (Anthony Henry & JD Drake)
Ace and Henry go at it. Henry kicks away his handshake attempt. Henry wristlocks him. Ace headflips out then wristlocks him. Henry headflips out. Ace dropkicks him and Henry backs off. JR and JD go at it. JR side headlocks him. They shoulderblock battle.
They pose at each other. JR trips him then shoulders him over. JR shoulders Henry over and side headlock takeovers him. JR shoulders Henry over. JD belly to belly suplexes JR then chops him in the corner. JR's head is banged off the buckles. JR is tripped into JD's knees then Henry double stomps JR's back.
JR's neck is twist and JD slingshot swantons JR. JD forearms JR. JD short arm lariats JR. JD corner splashes him. JD's crossbody is caught. Ace is tagged in. Ace highs kicks JD. Ace russian leegsweeps him and legdrops him. Ace dropkicks JD. Ace helictoper kicks JD.
Ace's fold attempt is blocked. Ace superkicks Henry from the apron. Ace springboard crossbodies JD. JD is thrown out. JR cannonballs JD off the apron. Ace doctor bombs Henry for 2. Henry takes corner attacks. Ace's tope is caught. JD throws him into the ropes and forearms him
JR takes a sitout reverse slam and a shining wizard for 2. Henry top rope double stomps JR. JD top rope moonsaults JR for 2. Ace hit mounted shots on JD. Ace hits the fold on Henry. Ace headscissors JD. JR forearms JD then hits a ddt on him. JR pins JD.
Thoughts: I liked the tag match. They kept up a quick pace. JD's team did some nice double teams and it felt like they had a shot at this here. If it only it had a bit more time and some actual build to it.
Persephone is out of SOTF and Supercard of Honor.
Zayda Steel does a promo. She says she's never had to wait. She says losing to Athena took a lot out of her mentally. She says she knew she could beat her. She says she has a 2nd chance and says Hyan has the same chance. She says they will be fighting for the last Survival of the Fittest spot. She says she likes her and respects her but she's the real deal. She says Hyan has to survive her to make Survival of the Fittest.
Hyan and Maya World talk. Maya says this is her moment. She says she will go to SOTF and then face Athena. Hyan says it's about surviving 4 other women and not just Athena. She asks if Maya is ready for it. Hyan says the other women aren't ready but she is. Maya says they will take what's theirs at Supercard of Honor.
Action Andretti vs Nathan Cruz
They lock up. Cruz wristlocks him. AA headflips and wristlocks him. Cruz reverses it. AA cartwheels, kips up and chops him. AA walks up the buckles and springboard corkscrew diving armrdrags him. AA flying headscissors him and dropkicks him. AA springboard elbow drops him for 2.
AA euros Cruz. Cruz backbreakers him for 2. Cruz pulls his arms back. AA sunset flips him then hits some punches. AA forearms him down. AA handspring back elbows him. AA asai moonsaults him outside. AA springboard crossbodies him. AA running ssp's him for 2.
AA's throat is pulled over the top rope. Cruz overhead throws him then cradle shocks him for 2. Cruz goes up on the buckles. Lio Rush comes out and is acting normally. AA enzugiri's Cruz then 2nd rope spanish flies him. AA running torture rack neckbreakers Cruz and pins him.
Thoughts: It was a short one with Andretti looking good. AA did a lot of flying here and did it well. This was a shorter bout though. I don't like Lio coming out and acting normally though. People are buying into his new gimmick and he needs to focus on that.
Alec Price & Jordan Oliver vs. The Frat House (Cole Karter & Griff Garrison)
The heels shake hands then nail AP and JO. AP takes a facekick + shoulder drop for 1. AP takes a double backdrop for 2. Cole hits shots on AP. AP fights out of the corner and tags JO in. Cole takes corner attacks then JO dropkicks Cole. JO hiptosses AP into a neckbreaker on Griff.
Jacked Jameson distracts the faces. Cole throws JO out. AP comes off the top and Cole dropkicks him in mid-air. Griff spinning sitout torture rack bombs AP for 2. AP pulls Griff over the top then springboard triangle dropkicks him off the apron. Cole takes a double team sequence and AP suicide dives outside. Cole takes a backdrop + top rope elbow drop combo and is pinned.
Thoughts: Both teams are a little low on the totem pole and I was surprised to see Price's team win. Oliver is so goofy as a face as he really goes all in on old school stuff and it looks funny. Price is a wild one. It didn't go too long but it was acceptable. The hiptoss into the neckbreaker spot was interesting.
Spanish Announce Project (Angelico & Serpentico) & The Colons (Eddie Colon & Orlando Colon) vs Hunter James, Alexander Lev, Better Together (Hadar Horvitz & Ori Gold)
Lev has seemingly left the NWA and now has shorter black hair. He looks completely different. Eddie was on WWC and NWA in the last week. HH has the shorter hair.
Ange locks up with HH. HH wristlocks him and Ange reverses it. Serp top rope double stomps the arm. HH takes a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker then takes a flying lariat into Ange's knee. Serp enzugiri's Ori from behind and headscissors him down. Serp armdrags him.
Eddie trips Ori into the ropes then slides down his back. Orlando slingshot swantons Ori. Oralndo takes a PK then a double basement dropkick. Lev hits punches on Orlando. HJ step up knees Orlando then powerslams him. HJ chinlocks Orlando. Better Together hug and pull back on Orlando's arms.
Lev neckbreakers Orlando for 2. Orlando twisting neckbreakers him. HJ and Eddie tag in. Eddie 2nd rope flying lariats him and dropkicks him. Eddie figure fours HJ. Lev's team breaks it up.
Ange enzugiri's Lev off the apron. Serp topes outside. HJ htis punches on Eddie. Eddie flips over his back and backcrackers him. Orlando top rope splashes BJ and The Colon's double pin HJ to win.
Thoughts: It was a shorter one but I liked it. Eddie had a great night here and was moving so well. He was a good face. Lev tried to go over the top but got his leg caught in the ropes and almost got hung.
Lexy Nair tries to interview Action Andretti. AA is trying to call Lio but says he never picks up and they need to talk. AA says Lio needs to call him back. Lexy asks what's going on with Lio. AA says he knows she has questions but he doesn't have answers.
The Premier Athletes (Ariya Daivari & Tony Nese) vs Kiran Grey & Oro
Mark Sterling does the intro for The Premier Athletes. Mark says he's concerned for his opponents and says this could be a mercy rule. He says he will let the fans join their pre-game cheer but the fans don't chant what he wants them to.
Ari wristlocks Oro. Oro hammerlocks him. Oro rams Air in the corner. Oro is double pounded on. Ari hits punches on Oro. Oro spin kicks him in the mouth. Ari slides out. KG euros Ari outside and then goes after Mark Sterling. Stori Denali blocks that.
Nese bangs KG's head off the buckles. Aria stomps him in tree of woe then does stomach crunch boot on him. Ari flying shoulders Nese when KG moves. Oro comes in and gets the edge on the heels. Nese is up top, Ori walks up the buckles and flip kicks him. Nese spin kicks Oro in the face.
Ari throws KG out then sends him into the rails. Oro hits chops Nese. Oro takes an atomic drop into a superkick. Oro takes a double team ddt drop and is pinned.
Thoughts: It was short and not that good. The crowd wasn't into it and these guys just didn't click. I think they had to rush here as well.
Caprice Coleman does a taped interview with The Lethal Twist. Jay Lethal is asked why he teams with them. Jay says they asked him to join the group in disrespectful ways and were trying to get the fire out of him. Jay says it's a new ROH but history is about to repeat itself.
Jay is asked about what happened to his team with Priest and Billington. He says he doesn't like them and they needed him more than he need them. He is then asked about his team with Sonjay and Singh and Jay gets bothered. Jay says he, Blake and Lee are here to help each other. Jay tells Bandido that Blake will become world champ. Caprice asks Jay if he will get the first title shot if Blake becomes champ. Jay says he's done with this and doesn't like how this is going. Jay's group then leaves.
ROH Women's World Television Title Proving Ground Match - Red Velvet vs Rachael Ellering
RE blocks Red's roll up. RE hits a big lariat. RE karelin's lifts her. RE hits corner spears and doesn't another karelin's lift. RE chops her on the ropes. RE is tripped into the ropes and Red meteora's her from behind on the ropes. RE shoulders her over.
Red leg lariats her. Red tries a standing moonsault, RE is supposed to move but isn't fast enough. RE sentons her twice for 2. Red gets a 2 count on her. Red superkicks her. REd hits shots on RE's gut then RE suplexes her.
Red corner euros RE and RE elbows her over. RE pop-up spinebusters her for 2. Red sunset flips her for 2. RE black hole slams her for 2. Red forearms her then spin kicks her in the face. Red pins her.
Thoughts: It was a shorter one. RE had some decent looking offense here and lost this one as expected.
Adam Priest & Tommy Billington vs. Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson)
Zack armdrags Tom off the lock up. Zack pins him down. Tom wristlocks him. Zack armdrags him and Tom wristlocks him. Zack keeps getting his snapmares countered with wristlocks. Tom kips up, headflips and throws him by the wrist.
Drake shoulders Tom over then is shouldered over. Tom trips him and they trade front facelocks on the mat. Drake takes a double back elbow for 1. Drake takes a double suplex for 2. Tom chinlocks Drake. Drake side headlocks him then is backdropped. AP slingshot swantons Drake.
AP and Drake chop each other in the corner. They trade euros and butt heads. AP chases him. Zack tags in and nails AP from behind. AP is dropped throat first on the top rope. Zack short arm lariats AP for 2. Zack slams AP then drops Drake onto him for 2.
AP sends Zack out and Drake sleepers AP. AP backdrops Drake. Drake corner dropkicks AP for 2. Zack backdrops AP for 2 then bulldog chokes him. AP swinging neckbreakers Zack. Drake tries to block TP's tag but fails. Tom comes in and hits shots on The Vet's. Tom suplexes The Vet's. Tom crossfaces Drake.
Tom dropkicks Zack into Drake outside. Tom and AP then hit plancha's outside on The Vet's. Drake takes a lariat + german combo for 2.
Tom tom rope dropkicks Zack and is caught with an enzugiri from Drake. Tom and AP trade forearms. AP takes him over then half-crabs him. Tom crossfaces Zack at the same time. AP lariats Zack over the top. Drake rolls up AP for 2 then is lariated. Drake superkicks AP. AP takes a doomsday device for a close 2. AP rolls up Drake and pins him.
Thoughts: It was a good bout as expected. They kept this moving and both teams played their roles well. We had some good technical wrestling to start this as well.
The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier, Myron Reed & Zachary Wentz) vs. MxM TV (Johnny TV, Mansoor & Mason Madden)
Reed and Mansoor do a "tip of honor". Mansoor shoulders him over and Reed kips up. Reed side headlocks him then shoulders him over. Reed poses then Mansoor kips up and poses. Reed armdrags him. Reed kips up and dropkicks him. Reed springboard dropkicks him. Mansoor takes kicks from the faces and Zach double stomps his back. Dez is grabbed by the heels in the corner and Mansoor eye pokes Dez. Mansoor stomps Dez.
Dez takes a leg lariat + spinebuster for 2. Madden headbutts Dez. Madden stomps Dez in the corner then Mansoor foor chokes Dez. Dez takes corner attacks. Madden running hip attacks Dez. Reed dropkicks Madden from behind as he poses. Reed running facekicks JTV.
JTV trips Reed in mid-air then hits a moonlight drive for 2. Reed is thrown out and the heels beat him up outside. JTV chinlocks Reed. Reed takes a german + springboard kick for 2.
Reed takes a side slam + legdrop for 2. Reed takes a high/low for 2. Reed stunners JTV. Reed upkicks Mansoor then stunners JTV off a suplex attempt. Zach gets in and knocks over Mansoor a few times. He enzugiri's him. Dez meteora's Mansoor. Everyone comes in to do a move. Madden leg lariats Reed to end the sequence.
Reed superkicks Madden. JTV catapults Reed into Madden and Madden spinning uranage's him. Dez springboard tornado ddt's JTV. Madden chokeslams Mansoor on accident after getting poked in the eyes. Madden takes a triple superkick and falls on Mansoor. Zach top rope swantons Mansoor. Reed top rope 450's Mansoor and Dez top rope spiral taps Mansoor. Dez pins Mansoor.
Thoughts: It was a fun match here with The Rascalz doing their flying and the heels showing some personality and heeling it up some. It was athletic with a lot of action and I enjoyed it.
Overall thoughts: There was little build here for Supercard of Honor with only a week to go and we only know 5 matches on that card...3 of which have been randomly thrown together. We didn't get a ton of angle development as usual. Only 3 champs wrestled on the show, and two are trios champs (The Infantry). We had a bunch of random matches here but almost all of them were fine, so that wasn't much of a problem. I would say the opener, the semi-main and the main were all possibilities for match of the night here. I'd give this a 6 out of 10. I did think it was a good show, but outside of the ring, it didn't accomplish much.
