Ring of Honor on Honor Club 12/26/2025 Boxing Day Brawl 2025

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/12/ring-of-honor-on-honorclub-12182025.html

The next show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2026/01/ring-of-honor-youtube-special-episode-4.html

We are in NYC. Caprice Coleman and Ian Riccaboni are on commentary.

The Grizzled Young Vets come out for their match. Zack does his usual lines. He said he heard how great NYC was growing up. He says it's a 3rd world country where the streets are country and the people are scumbags. Zack says Eddie Kingston is the epitome of NYC. He says he has shown them disrespect. Eddie Kingston then comes out and hits both Vets with a chair.

Eddie Kingston vs James Drake

JD step up enzugiri's him then stomps on him in the corner. The match then officially begins. JD pounds on Eddie and hits corner spears. JD hits euros and short arm lariats him. JD eye rakes him. Eddie chops him down and is thrown hard into the buckles. JD chokes him with his knee.

Eddie pulls his straps down and hits chops. JD rakes his eyes. JD misses a step up enzugiri. Eddie does the stretch plum. Gibson gets on the apron and distracts Eddie. JD hits a dropkick off the 2nd rope.

JD hits forearms and Eddie lariats him. Eddie hits a corner splash then hits chops. Eddie neckbreakers him. JD running corner dropkicks him for 2. JD hits mounted forearms. JD is caught off the buckles and takes an exploder. Eddie ddt's and wins.

Thoughts: Eddie winning with a ddt was a bit weak. It was an okay match otherwise with Eddie winning as expected. The match should have never began though since Eddie chaired Drake before it started.

Gibson jumps Eddie after. Eddie gets the edge, is hit with a low blow, then is choked with a towel. Drake then springboard flying knees him while he is held.

Santa Claus is in the ring with two jobbers. The Premier Athletes interrupt. Sterling says they gave Santa ozempic and he has shaved 170lbs. He says the fans would never be able to do this. He says Santa knows if they've been bad or good and where they sleep. He says he knows that Athletes____ and Santa says, "suck". Santa gets chokeslammed and thrown out.

Jon htis punches on Ari then takes a neckbreaker. Stori knocks down Jon and throws him in the corner. Vox comes in. She hits forearms on Stori. Stori suplex throws her. Jon interrupts and pushes Vox away. Jon is tripped by Ari after sizing up Stori. Nese and VSK trade shots. Nese pulls his throat over the top and plancha's outside at the same time. Stori facekicks Vox over then chokeslams her for the win.

Thoughts: I'm not a fan of intergender stuff and I'm curious if Cruz could actually beat Stori in a fight or not. The Athletes won as expected. Them chokeslamming Santa was something though.

Komander and Alex are interviewed. Kom talks in Spanish. Alex says Kom is one of the best flyers and one of the most technically gifted. He says Lee Moriarty will find out he was meant to be a champion.

Mina spinning forearms her twice and head kicks her from behind. Mina spinning back elbows her and submits her with the figure four.

Thoughts: It was all squash as expected here. It wasn't anything special. Scott's decent looking and should probably get more bookings here.

Jay Lethal and Bandido are interviewed. Jay says they have The Swirl in common as enemies. Jay says they have been a thorn in their side for weeks. Jay says they should team up next week against The Swirl. Band says of course.

The Swirl (Blake Christian & Lee Johnson) vs Alec Price & Jordan Oliver

BC gives Alec the finger on a handshake attempt. BC shoulders him over then they trade roll ups. Blake dropkicks him and kips up on it. Alec pulls BC over the top. Lee superkicks Alec off the apron and BC corkscrew dives him between the ropes. JO takes a suplex and a BC springboard 450. JO takes a silly handspring kick into a brainbuster and is pinned.

Thoughts
: It was a very fast paced match with a lot of flying. The selling wasn't the best but I still liked it as it was fully of action and some interesting moves.

Zack Gibson vs. Bryce Donovan

Zack does his usual intro and rips the crowd for hijacking the show. Zack says you will put respect on the name GYV and learn they are the real deal. Zack says you will grit your teeth when you see them coming.

BD hits a black hole slam for 2.

BD misses a corner splash and takes a 2nd rope diving codebreaker. Zack then pins him with a lariat.

Thoughts
: Zack won as expected here. Zack did a good job bullying Bryce around and was an effective heel. Bryce didn't get that much in and didn't really impress with what he did get. He's just kind of in between a lot of things. He's not tall enough to stand out. He's not muscular or ripped enough to really stand out either and he's kind of bland in the ring.

Dalton Castle and The Outrunners are interviewed. DC says he didn't get everything he wanted for Christmas this year. Turbo hugs them and says he's got all he needs right here. MxM TV then jump them in Christmas costumes. Mansoor says they get one more present - an @ss whooping in a fight without honor.

Boom And Doom (Big Boom AJ & QT Marshall) vs. The Frat House (Cole Karter & Griff Garrison)

Vance drops one of the pledges during their entrance. AJ comes out with his son and Aaron Solo but no Rizzler. His wife and daughter are in the crowd.

Cole shoves QT from behind and poses. QT drops him. Cole hits punches and boots on QT in the corner. GG is pushed into Cole. Griff takes corner attacks and a powerslam from AJ for 2. GG boots and euros AJ over. Cole does knee drops on AJ then hits mounted forearms. Cole hits shots to the gut. GG hits punches on AJ while he lays on the bottom rope.

AJ takes a double suplex. AJ belly to belly suplexes Cole. QT gets in. QT hits forearms on GG then handspring enzugiri's him. GG is thrown out and QT tope con hilos him and his crew. GG facekicks QT out of the ring. QT is then stomped on outside.

GG wristlocks QT and clubs on him. Cole hits QT in the gut. Cole standing dropkicks QT twice and GG gets a 2 count on QT. GG misses a corner splash. QT goes for the tag and Cole pulls AJ off the apron. QT takes a flying headkick + drop for 2. Vance threatens to chair QT outside. Aaron Solo and Big Justice stop him. The ref ejects Justice and Solo as Solo had a chair. Vance then grabs the chair, gets caught with it and him and Jacked Jameson get ejected.

QT STO's GG. AJ gets tagged in and hits shots on the heels. He slams both opponents. AJ full-nelson slams both heels. GG spinning forearms AJ. QT cutters GG. AJ hits a bad sky high on Cole. Vance takes a blockbuster + powerbomb combo and is pinned.

Thoughts: There was a lot of shenanigans here and AJ had a sloppy night here. I thought this went a little longer than it needed to and they should have just stuck with basic face and heel work.

Lee Moriarty is interviewed. He says he beat Nigel McGuinness last year and says he became the longest ROH Pure champ of all time. He says he has broken records. He says Komander earned this opportunity but he will learn there is a difference between proving ground matches and title matches. Lee says he will walk out tonight as the Pure champ.

Katsuyori Shibata vs. Lio Rush

KS offers a handshake and pulls away. They do a test of strength. Lio ducks a high kick and they stand off. Lio rolls him up for 2. KS boots him from the apron. KS snapmares him and rakes his face with his feet. KS suplexes Lio on the apron and holds on for a suplex on the floor.

Lios is sent into the rails. They trade shots inside. KS stomps on him and elbows him. KS hits chops. Lio ducks a PK and corkscrew kicks him. Lio handspring kicks him off the apron then topes him. KS gets his feet up on a top rope Lio splash. KS corner dropkicks him and underhook suplexes him for 2. Lio hits a bottom rope springboard stunner for 2.

KS low blows Lio then armbars him. Lio taps out.

Thoughts: It was a shorter bout and nothing too special. Some of their technical wrestling looked good in the beginning of this.

ROH Pure Title Match - Lee Moriarty (c) vs. Komander

They shake hands. Lee hammerlocks him. Kom hammerlocks him. Lee uses his leg and escapes. Lee side headlock takeovers him and armbars him. Lee does a border city stretch. Kom uses his first rope break. Lee takes him down by the arm and wristlocks him. Lee blocks a sunset flip. Kom 2nd rope moonsaults and tiger feints. Lee pushes him down. Lee drops down and rolls him by the leg into a grounded choke.

Lee spin kicks him in the gut. Kom walks up the buckles, comes down, cartwheels and backflips. Lee the tilt-a-whirl drops him on his chest and gut. Lee hits knees to the gut. Lee waistlocks him and rolls him. Lee does a nice grounded abdominal stretch variation and claws his ribs. Lee then crucifixes him for 2.

Lee abdominal stretches him and Kom hiptosses out of it. Kom hits some shots. Kom walks up the buckles, does rope tricks, tries a diving headscissors and is caught with an STF. Kom ropebreaks and Lee hits knees to the body while he's down.

Lee hits knees to the gut and hits corner spears. Kom dropkicks him in the knee. Kom spin kicks him and jumping ddt's him for 2. Lee punches him in the ribs and gets a warning for using a closed fist to face even though it wasn't in the face.

Lee back elbows him. Kom step up enzugiri's him from the apron. Kom rope walk crossbodies him. Lee suplex lifts him into a flatliner for 2. Kom uses his last ropebreak. Lee drops him on his arm and chest then puts the border city stretch on. Kom goes for a rope break that he doesn't have, Lee drops the hold and Kom gets a 2 count on Lee.  Lee runs at him and takes a standing spanish fly for 2. Kom running superkicks him in the back of the head.

Lee goes out. Kom walks up the buckles and blind springboard moonsaults outside. Kom poisonrana's him for 2. Kom armbars Lee and Lee uses his first armbar. Kom superkicks him in the head again. Kom ropewalk ssp's but Lee gets his feet up. Lee gori specials him in the ropes and Kom taps out.

Thoughts:
I liked the match. It was fast paced with a lot of quick reversals and counters. Lee had some cool technical spots here and they managed to blend their styles well. I thought it would be okay but this was actually good and worked out a lot better than I expected.

Overall thoughts: It was your usual ROH show. The stars weren't wrestling as usual and there was very little build to any future matches. We had some squashes and a couple of okay matches with the main being quite good. I also kind of liked The Swirl's tag match. I'd give this a 6 out of 10 mostly for the main which was a show stealer.
