New Japan Pro Wrestling 1/5/2026 New Year Dash !! 2026

Katsuya Murashima, Shota Umino & Yuya Uemura vs. Team 150 (Satoshi Kojima, Taichi & Tomohiro Ishii)

Everyone stares down. Yuya side headlocks Tai and they go to the ropes. Yuya hits chops, runs into a boot and armdrags Tai. They each hit chops and Tai lariats him over. Tai kicks Yuya in the back. Koji comes in and stomps Yuya. He neckbreakers him.

Yuya takes a cheap shot at Ishii and Ishii forearms him over. KM then is knocked over with an Ishii forearm after hitting shots. Yuya goes back at TI and knocks him off the apron. Koji hits machine gun chops on Yuya in the corner.

Koji hits a corner flying forearm. Yuya armdrags him into a dropkick. Shota comes in and shoulders over Ishii. He then dropkicks Tai. Shota hits chops and forearms on Koji in the corner. He fisherman suplexes him for 2. Koji hits a cutter on Shota.

Ishii comes in and corner lariats Shota. He hits chops and Shota chops and forearms back. Ishii then drops him with shots in the corner. Ishii boots him in the head. Shota hits forearms on Ishii and spinning forearms him down. KM tags in. He hits forearms on Ishii. Ishii forearms him over. KM hits forearms. 

KM shoulders him over. Yuya double chops Ishii. Yuya dropkicks Tai then KM powerslams Ishii for 2. KM forearms Koji over. Shota dropkicks Ishii in the back of the head. KM hits slaps on Ishii. Ishii headbutts him down for 2. Ishii then crabs KM and submits him.

Thoughts: It was a fun tag. Everyone was testing Ishii here and lots of hard shots were exchanged. Ishii got his nose busted open from this. It was a spirited fight.

Shota wants some of Ishii and Ishii spits at him. Shota hits forearms and is headbutted over. 

El Phantasmo & Shoma Kato vs. The Don Callis Family (Konosuke Takeshita & Rocky Romero)

Kato and KT stare down then ELP stares down with KT. 

KT and ELP lock up. ELP wristlocks him and KT reverses it. KT trips him then bow and arrows him but KT turns it into a pin attempt. They trade pin attempts. ELP cravates him and wristlocks him. KT headflips and arm throws him. They then kip up together. 

KT and ELP trade shots. ELP superkicks him in the gut. KT misses a knee and ELP headflips up. RR and Kato go at it. RR wristlocks him then Kato side headlocks him. Kato shoulders him over then hits forearms on KT on the apron. Kato is sent into the rails outside then KT is sent into the rails.

Kato slams RR inside. Kato crabs RR and KT headbutts Kato over. KT elbows Kato over for 2. KT tries more pin attempts. Kato flying headscissors KT. Kato then slams him. Kato crabs KT. RR kicks Kato in the back. 

RR takes kicks from his opponents and Kato running forearms him over. ELP springboards and KT blue thunders him. Kato comes in and hits dropkicks. RR topes ELP outside. Kato rolls up KT for 2. Kato dropkicks KT then cradles him for 2. KT holds on and brainbusters him. KT then crabs him and submits him.

Thoughts: It was an okay bout with Kato bringing the fight to KT before going down. I was fine with this and it was mostly due to Kato.

ELP throws Kato out after and claps at KT. 

Bishamon (Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI) & Oleg Boltin vs. House Of Torture (SANADA, Yoshinobu Kanemaru & Yujiro Takahashi)

The faces get hit before the bell. The fight goes outside and Goto is sent into the rails. YK stomps Goto inside. YK takes a double shoulderblock then Yoshi is hiptossed onto him. Oleg then double shoulderblocks the heels. YK is hit with a triple club by the faces.

YK sends the ref into Goto and step up enzugiri's him. Goto is sent into the exposed buckle. Goto is sent out and sent into the rails. YK stomps Goto outside. Goto is sent into the exposed buckle and has his head banged off of it. 

San dropkicks Goto in the knee. He boots him out of the corner then Goto lariats him. Yoshi comes in and shoulders Yujiro over. Yoshi neckbreakers San. San is laid on the top rope and Yoshi dropkicks him down. Yoshi forearms San down and San kicks him in the crotch on the landing.

Yujiro comes in. He forearms Yoshi then is dropkicked in the knee. Oleg comes in. Oleg chops Yujiro then slams him. Oleg karelin's lifts Yujiro. Oleg slams Yujiro then vader bombs him for 2. Yujiro reverse ddt's Oleg. Oleg takes running corner attacks then a double kick from the heels.

Yujiro grabs his cane. Goto takes it from him and the ref catches him. Goto runs through a double lariat and hits his own double lariat. Yujiro takes a superkick into a suplex. Yujiro then is held in the air for an Oleg splash. Oleg pins him.

Thoughts: It was a pretty standard match here. Thankfully, the heels didn't do overdo it too much like usual so it was somewhat believable. It was by the numbers though. 

United Empire (Andrade El Idolo, Francesco Akira & Jakob Austin Young) vs. BULLET CLUB War Dogs (Clark Connors & Gabe Kidd) & Hiromu Takahashi

Gabe gets hit as he poses and almost everyone goes outside. Akira foot chokes HT in the corner. HT corner lariats him then flying headscissors him. HT corner lariats him. Akira back elbows him. Jake sends HT into the rails outside. Akira then pounds on HT outside.

HT and Jake trade chops in the ring. Jake hits punches on HT then rakes his eyes with his feet. Jake baseball slides him. Idolo 2nd rope elbow drops HT's arm. Idolo boots HT in the corner. Idol split legged moonsaults HT for 2. 

Akira slams HT and sends him into the buckles for 2. Akira standing moonsaults him for 2. HT hits chops on Akira. Akira hits mounted forearms. HT corner lariats Akira and basement dropkicks him. HT dragon screws Akira. 

Gabe and Idolo come in. Gabe corner lariats him then bangs his head off the buckles. Gabe lariats Idolo. Gabe exploders him for 2. Gabe uppercuts Idolo then Idolo dropkicks Gabe. Idolo corner meteora's Gabe for 2. Idolo suplexes Gabe then Gabe suplexes him back. CC comes in and shoulders Idolo over. 

CC powerslams Idolo then running spears him for 2. CC uppercuts Idolo then takes a facekick. CC cradles Idolo for 2. Idolo spinning back elbows him. Idolo double underhook spinning drops him and pins him.

Thoughts: It was average. The Gabe and Idolo sections were okay here. Idolo got the win which helped him some. UE were a bit more heelish here than usual. 

Gabe says if Idolo has something to say, they should fight about it. They then fight. Young lions try to separate them.  Idolo sits at the bell ringer's desk. Gabe challenges him to a match.

House Of Torture (Dick Togo, Don Fale, EVIL & Ren Narita) vs. Aaron Wolf, Master Wato, Toru Yano & YOH

The heels attack before the bell like usual. Wolf gets group stomped. Wolf takes corner attacks. Togo is caught by Wolf off the 2nd rope. Wolf hits shoulder throws on Togo and Ren. Wato then bulldogs Togo for 2. Togo punches Wato on the side headlock.  Togo hits punches on Wato.

Fale slams Wato then stands on his back. Fale then tries to pin him with a foot on the chest. Evil fisherman suplexes Wato and HoT count their own pin. Togo then makes his own announcement and says, "Happy New Year" at the end of it. Ren hits Wato with the bell hammer.

Wato leg lariats Ren. Yoh comes off the top and cannonballs Ren. Yoh pulls him down by the hair. Yano and Yoh pose then get hit by the heels. Ren running facekicks Yoh and Togo 2nd rope chops Yoh in the crotch. Yoh cradles Togo for 2. Yoh sling blades him then submits him with a texas cloverleaf.

Thoughts: It was a short waste of time. They had under 10 minutes here only. Everyone got their segment in here and not much more.

The faces get hit from behind after. Ren hits Wolf with the push-up board.  

United Empire (Callum Newman, Great-O-Khan, HENARE & Jake Lee) vs. BULLET CLUB War Dogs (David Finlay & Drilla Moloney), Shingo Takagi & Yota Tsuji

Henare pinned Drilla with a sitout assisted powerbomb. The big news here was Yota coming out with the old IWGP Title from the 200's and not that stupid butterfly belt. Yota asked Jake Lee why he should get a title shot before the match and Jake just booted him. It was an average match for the match part and didn't get a ton of time to be great.

Khan hits a TTD on Shingo after. Jake held up Yota's IWGP Title and Yota slapped him down for it. Finlay hit young lions outside after and threw chairs in. Newman got on the mic and said he didn't work all year to be intimidated by DF. He tells him if he is the bad man he thinks he is, he will take him on anytime. Newman says this isn't the old Empire he left to crumble and shatter in Osaka. This is a brand new empire.

Will Ospreay comes out and shakes hands with UE. Will says he can't come back right now. He says he will handle business in AEW and come back to NJPW. He says he's coming back to support Newman, who he calls his little brother. Will says when he's back, they will take over NJPW Newman's way. Newman hugs him. 4 Will leads the UE pose and Newman thinks of hitting him with a chair but is stopped. Newman then walks off.

IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Title Match - House Of Torture (DOUKI & SHO) (c) vs. El Desperado & Kuukai vs. Ichiban Sweet Boys (Kosei Fujita & Robbie Eagles) vs. BULLET CLUB War Dogs (Robbie X & Taiji Ishimori)

SHO talks on the mic before his match but doesn't say much of note. Kuukai tornillo topes him through the ropes. TMDK hits flying headscissors then does stereo apron moonsaults outside. Sho and Douki take over. They are sent into each other and Kuukai is popped up into a double dropkick on them. Despy, TI, X and Kuukai trade in the ring. X is flipped onto Kuukai then TI pump kicks Despy. X rolls TI into a splash on Despy for 2. 

X does up and over Douki. Douki has his legs split and he is double kicked. Sho spears Rob. Kuukai hits a spin ick and a knee on Sho then superkicks him. Kosei springboard dropkicks Sho. Kuukai chops Kosei and they trade forearms. They trade chops. TI tilt-a-whirl slams Kosei. Rob standing shiranui's TI.

We get a tower of doom spot with Rob going down. X dives on him but is pulled out on the pin attempt. Kosei hits Douki and Sho with with a box outside. He then hits Kanemaru with it. TI TKO's Douki. Kosei wheelbarrow germans Kuukai. Rob tope con hilos Despy and Kuukai through the ropes. X rolls up Kosei for 2. 

X finlay rolls Kosei. X corkscrew kicks Rob. X and Kosei trade forearms. X pele kicks Kosei. X takes a double burnng hammer and Kosei pins him.

Thoughts: It was a shorter and fast paced bout. It was fun. There were some nice dives and just a lot going on at all times. One of X's dives got completely missed by the camera's here. 

Akira Francesco beats up Taiji after. He then hits an emerald flowsion variation. Hiromu Takahashi breaks it up and has words for Akira on the mic. He says they will accept any fight.

IWGP Tag Team Title Match - Knockout Brothers (OSKAR & Yuto-Ice) (c) vs. TMDK (Ryohei Oiwa & Zack Sabre Jr.)

Oiwa and Ice trade forearms to start. Oiwa armdrags him into an armlock and Ice ropebreaks. Ice takes a double back elbow. TMDK then grab limbs and switch to the next. Oskar takes a double arm wringer then gets his arms stomped into the mat. Zack hits kicks on Ice and they trade shots. Ice facekicks Zack.

Oskar pounds on Zack an chops him down. Zack hits euros on him and is chopped down. Ice punches Zack in the gut. Ice boot flurries Zack in the gut and running meteora's him in the corner.  Oiwa clubs on Ice and is thrown out. Zack pele kicks Oskar's arm. Oiwa comes in and shoulders over Ice. 

Oiwa stomps on the back of Oskar's leg. Oiwa dropkicks Ice. Oiwa backdrops Ice then sentons him for 2. Ice knees Oiwa in the gut and sends him into Oskar's boot. Oskar chops down Oiwa. Oiwa dropkicks him in the knee.

Zack PK's Ice then is slammed by Oskar. Oskar chops down Zack twice. Zack hits euros on Oskar. Oskar overhead throws him and misses a legdrop. Oskar blocks Zack's PK. Zack hits slaps and is forearmed down. Oskar backdrops Zack for 2. 

Zack rolls up Oskar for 2. Zack taks a backbreaker + running knee combo for 2. Oiwa takes a double boot. Zack takes a double team powerbomb for 2. Oiwa and Zack do stereo submissions. Oskar ropebreaks. Oskar running legdrops Zack for 2.

Zack michinoku drivers Oskar. Ice and Oiwa come in and trade forearms. Oiwa yanks on his arm. Ice running facekicks him for 1. Oiwa backdrops him. Oiwa corner splashes Ice and arm wringers him. Ice forearms him down. Oiwa hits forearms. Ice slaps him around and drops him.

Ice slaps Oiwa around then Oiwa lariats him down. Oiwa hits mounted forearms on Ice and pushes the ref down. Oiwa slaps Ice down then hits a hard lariat to the head. Oskar comes in. Oiwa slaps him around then suplexes him. Oiwa running dropkicks Ice against the ropes. Oiwa then germans him for 2.

Ice forearms Oiwa down. Zack comes in and hits facekicks on Ice. Ice spits at him and they slap each other. Ice fires up. Oiwa hits a chaos theory on him and Zack does a pin attempt on Ice for 2. Ice is slammed nad Oiwa top rope splashes him while Zack twists Ice's neck with his feet. 

All 4 get in. Oskar takes an enzugiri + lariat combo then a lariat over the top. Zack PK's Oskar outside. Ice and Oiwa go at it. Oiwa backslides him for 2. Ice knees him in the face/chest. Ice PK's Oiwa for 2. Oiwa blocks a dropkick and does a bridge pin on Ice for 2. Ice forearms him down. Ice buzzsaw kicks him. Zack ankle locks Ice as he goes for the pin. Oskar then sleepers Zack from behind. Ice forearms Zack and Oskar double arm sitout chokeslams Zack. Oiwa forearms his opponents and germans Oskar.

Oiwa spinning lariats Ice for 2. Oiwa takes a kick + tombstone and is pinned.

Thoughts: It turned into a good match. Zack wasn't that involved in this and it was for the better. It was mostly all strikes here as that's what Oskar and Ice do. There wasn't a ton of structure to this though and it was basically a tornado tag. I thought it helped put over Oiwa some and made him look good.

Shota and Yuya come out after. Shota gets boos. Shota asks for another match with Ice and Oskar. The crowd chants for Oiwa as he leaves. Yuya says they can't back down them from. Yuya and Ice butt heads. Oskar wants nothing to do with this.

Taichi and Tomohiro Ishii come down. They say it's time to teach them to fight and suggest a 3-way. Ice says those two teams should fight and they can face the winner. Ice says they will carry tag wrestling. Ice says he's interested in fighting, money and getting high. Ice says NJPW is the only place you can get this high.  

Overall thoughts: The show was similar to what it looked like - a bunch of throwaway matches and a good main event. They set a lot up here and I'm sure the show was a lot better if you spoke Japanese than if you don't. Wills Ospreay appeared but didn't wrestle and Newman tried to turn on him but was stopped. The junior tag title match was fine but didn't get that much time. I'd give this a 6 out of 10 total was it was a bit of spiced up typical Korakuen Hall level show. It was okay overall.
