NWA Powerrr 1/6/2026
Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2025/12/nwa-powerrr-12302025.html
Note - EC3 has left The NWA. That was a shock and is going to change things up going forward. Colby Corino's contract expired too but he's not currently wrestling. Matt Cardona also signed with WWE this week which likely means that angle from last week isn't going to get followed up on.
Joe Galli, Danny Dealz and Tim Storm are on commentary.
Damian Fenrir vs Kerry Morton
KM shoves him. DF wristlocks him and KM flips out using the ropes. DF rolls, headflips and cartwheels out. DF shoulders him over. DF flips out of a hiptoss and armdrags him. DF armdrags him into an armlock. DF flips over him from the 2nd rope.
KM suplexes him. KM is caught off the buckles and DF delay suplexes him. KM swiging neckbreakers him. DF monkey flips him. KM blocks a sunset flip and knees him in the gut. KM slaps him down.
DF hits punches. KM stomps his foot then slingshot suplexes him for 2. KM hits mounted punches. KM hits knees to the gut. DF powerslams him. DF germans him. DF dropkicks him. KM victory rolls him for 2. DF backslides him. KF backrolls him up for 2. KM jumping knees him for 2. KM final cuts him for the win.
Thoughts: It got a lot of time and was fairly competitive. DF needs to work on hitting his spots clean because he looks like an obvious prospect otherwise. I think this would have been a little better with less time. I just thought it was okay.
Kerry offers a handshake after and DF doesn't take it.
The Slimeballz, Carson Drake, Aron Stevens and Lockjaw Drake are in the back. Carson says they are facing literal monsters in The Lost. Carson asks their names and The Slimes goof around. Carson says they will put their careers where they belong - in the grave. Carsons says he's the best there has ever been and they can't beat them.
The Slimeballz, The Paige Sisters and Tommy Henry are waiting for the inheritance meeting to start. The Sisters argue with themselves and Tommy. Tommy says they will make sure they get their money and Kenzie complains that this is work. The Slimes are misinformed about the situation and talk about what they will do with the money. Rant then tries to take Tommy's phone.
Thom Latimer says it's a fresh new year with a new start. He says he champ for a year and let it slip. He puts over Silas Mason as a worthy champ but says he still lost to him. Thom says he wants what is his back and says he will get it back. He says Silas will have to answer to him as he wants his title back.
Mims vs "El Dragon" Nihan
They say Mims said he doesn't need Blk Jeez with him anymore.
They go face to face and Mims piefaces him. Nihan clubs him. Nihan hits knees in the gut. Nihan misses a corner splash. Mims hits shots to the gut. Mims corner back splashes him and hits shots to the gut. Mims hits corner spears then more gut punches. The ref pulls him off and Nihan lariats him.
Nihan slams him then 2nd rope legdrops him for 2. Nihan punches him and bites him. Nihan dropkicks him for 2. Mims spears him for 2. Nihan superkicks him and powerbombs him. Nihan then pins him.
Thoughts: Odd booking here as Mims just got a big win over The Pope a few shows ago and is now losing to Nihan. I'm not opposed to Nihan picking up a win, but not over Mims. It wasn't super exciting. Mims really focused on hitting Nihan in the gut here which was something different.
AJ and KC Cazana talk. AJ says he hates The Paige Sisters and wants to hurt them. Joe Cazana comes in. He says they are here to make sure they know who The Country Gentlemen are. Joe says they will beat the girls from one end to Center Stage to the other. He says this is not a debate. He says when it's all said and done, everything they do is by the book.
Father James Mitchell gets on the mic ahead of the next match. He says this is his favorite season and favorite wrestling event of the year. He says they will put Aron Stevens in the coffin and send him straight to hell.
The Holy Grail talk. C-Lo asks what the good book says about false idols? EC3 says, "though shall not take one before him". He says they fend off Aron Stevens then The Slimeballz next week. PB Smooth says he will snuff Aron if he puts his hand near the ropes.
We go back to the inheritance meeting. Kenzie is complaining about the wait. Tommy says he's sticking around to get the money. He says when he has the money, he will send The Slimes to an island they won't return from. Rant says he's got a deal.
Aron Stevens talks before the match. He says to win the match, you have to be closed in a casket. He says the people don't want to see that.
Casket Match - The Lost (Gaagz the Gimp, Lev and Alex Misery) vs Carson Drake, Lockjaw Drake and Aron Stevens
They say Aron is returning to wrestling here, but he had wrestled month or two back.
Aron runs for the exit, abandoning his team. The Drake's are beaten up in the corners. Carson takes corner attacks. Alex cannonballs him in the corner after jumping off of Lev's back. Lockjaw is sent into Carson, falls down and Carson drops into his crotch. Carson is atomic dropped out. Lev STO's Lock on the apron. Gymp cannonballs both opponents off the apron.
Carson bangs Lev's head off a casket. Lock's head is banged off the apron. Aron returns but is scared to be out there and gets surrounded. Druids come out and attack The Lost. Lock hits shots on Alex and Lev. Carson chops Gymp against the casket. He throws him in but can't close the lid.
Gymp is booted down on the stage then curbstomped on the stage. Lev punches Carson down the stage steps. Lev and Alex make their comebacks and drop Lock and Carson. The druids flood the ring and get knocked down. Aron takes a double punch.
Lex and Alex hit flying lariats on The Drakes. Lex suicide dives the druids outside. Lock chops Alex outside then is sent into the post. Alex goes into the crowd and plancha's off an entrance onto Lock. Carson sleepers Lev on the stage. Caron puts him in the casket and walks away before the lid is closed. Lev escapes the casket. Gymp grabs Aron's glove and punches out Carson. Aron superkicks Gymp. Lev punches Aron and sends him into the casket. Lev closes the casket on Aron and The Lost win.
Thoughts: It was okay and they did the best they could with a small area to work with. The Lost won as expected here. I was entertained by this.
Wrecking Ball Legursky does a promo. He says he has a huge match vs Mike Mondo. He says he's being called an underdog as Mike has been around the world and has a lot of experience. He says America has been an underdog and he will dominate and be a powerhouse like America. He says he will win the gold for the red, white and blue.
Hammerstone says he faces Trevor Murdoch next week. He says he'd be a fool to look past him. He says what if Hammerstone became the next champ? He says he is not underestimating Trevor and will make him another rung on the ladder he is climbing to the top.
NWA National Title - Mike Mondo (c) vs Wrecking Ball Legursky
Mike dropkicks him to start. He boots and forearms him in the corner. Ball hits shots to the gut and chest clubs him. Ball throws him. Ball hits a corner splash then throws him over the top. Ball suplexes him for 2. Mike chops him and Ball bodyblocks him.
Mike bites Ball's hand then boots him in the knee. Mike low basement dropkicks him for 1. Mike stomps him and chokes him on the bottom rope. Mike slaps him in the head. Ball is pushed into the buckles and Mike lariats him from behind. Mike gets a 2 count on him. Mike sleepers him.
Ball hits punches on Mike then shoulders him over. Ball corner splashes Mike then corner hip attacks him. Ball hits a big splash for 2. Mike comes off the 2nd rope and is powerslammed down for 2. Mike jumping knees him. Ball misses a corner spear and goes into the post. Mike top rope diving headbutts him for 2. They fight on the buckles. Ball is eye raked then sunset bombed. Mike pins him.
Thoughts: It was okay. Mike didn't quite power Ball around as much as I thought. Ball did a bunch of splashes here.
Overall thoughts: Everything except the opener had some build to it at least. What we got overall was okay enough but nothing must see. The casket match was probably the best match of the night and Mondo/Ball went as you might think it would. No Bitcrush this week and The Paige Sisters waited for nothing as we never got to see the inheritance meeting. We also got no explanation on Vipress interfering last week. I would give it a 5 out of 10 as some of the matches were built up to but there was a lot of stuff from last week that didn't get followed up on.
