TNA Impact 1/22/2026

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2026/01/tna-impact-1152026.html

We are in Albuquerque, NM. Tom Hannifan and Matt Rehwoldt are on commentary.

Tom and Matt talk to Carlos Silva at ringside. Silva says last week was spectacular and they couldn't be more proud of everyone.  Matt says the next 2 wrestlers have unfinished business from Genesis.

Moose vs Cedric Alexander

Moose misses a chop in the corner, gets chopped then chops Ced. Moose misses a mounted corner punch and is pulled down face first on the buckle. Moose dropkicks him. They go on the apron and trade forearms. Ced kind of uranage's him on the apron.

Moose pump kicks him outside. Ced PK's him from the apron. Ced tope forearms him outside. Ced is sent into the steps. Moose hits chops and a pump kick. Ced suplexes Moose on the floor. Ced hits a top rope frogsplash inside for 2. Ced kicks him in the back for 2.

Ced boots him from the apron and bottom rope springboard flatliners him for 2. Moose pump kicks him and corner euros him. Moose uranage's him and sentons him. Ced is on the 2nd rope and Moose hits a go to hell for 2.

Moose misses a corner charge. Moose chops him then Ced michinoku drivers him for 2. They trade chops. Ced lariats him. Moose pump kicks him and Ced hits a spanish fly for 2. Ced springboards and Moose headbutts him in the chest.

Ced sunset flips him and armdrags him off the uranage. Ced hurricanrana's him and pins him.

Thoughts: Yet another loss for Moose here. I'd love to know the reasoning behind it. It was a solid bout with them trading a lot of strikes. It was better than I expected and it was a big win for Ced. They really need to give Ced some mic time if they want him to get over bigger.

Mike Santana comes out through the crowd then talks in the ring. We hear some audio of Mike's father telling him he belongs to be here, he earned his way here and deserves to be here. The crowd chants, "you deserve it". Mike talks about coming back and making a statement. He says he was coming for the top spot and put action behind those words. He says he made sure he gave everything he had as the fans and the sport deserve it. He says every time he fell, he picked himself back up.

He says he kept getting back up and kept fighting. He puts over AJ saying he has the keys to the kingdom. He says he has respect to Kaz for bringing the fight. He says his back is against the wall with Nic Nemeth having the Call Your Shot trophy but he likes it that way. He says he was told he'd never be the guy but he stands here as the guy. He says he earned his way here, deserves to be here and belongs here.

Thoughts: It was the usual Santana style promo with him talking about overcoming struggles. It was alright. I was surprised we didn't learn more about his next challenger here.

Gia Miller interviews Order 4 in the back. Ali tells her to shut up. He says The Hardy's are sheep and he will be your shepherd. He says in Ali, we trust.

The Personal Concierge talks before M By Elengance's match. He says he's excited about leaving New Mexico. He says the town sucks and says they are theieves and illiterates. He then brings out the whole Elegance Brand.

Indi Hartwell vs M By Elegance

Ooh this looks like it could be rough.

M ducks the lock up and hides in the ropes. Indi grabs a foot and M's partners grab her arms. Indi swings M down by the foot. Indi stomps M's foot and side headlocks her. Indi shoulders her over. M handstands over her and is pulled down. Indi elbow drops her for 2.

Indi hits euros and chops in the corner. M's head is banged off the buckles. Indi then stomps M's foot. Indi boots her in the head over the 2nd rope. Indi's leg is stuck over the top rope. Mr. Elegance comes in then The heels pound on Indi's foot. M rolls into a codebreaker on her.

We go to break and return. They each hit shots to the gut. M springboards and is spinebustered down. Indi hits shots and lariats. Indi bulldogs her for 2. M rolls her up for 2. M rolls her up again but Indi reverses it and pins her.

Thoughts: It wasn't anything too special as expected with them trading a lot of shots and The Elegance Brand interfering as expected.

Heather By Elegance drops Indi from behind after and pounds on her. Ash By Elegance tells them to stop the beatdown and yells "stop" many times. M pushes Ash. Ash squares off with them. The Angel Warriors and Indi then defend Ash. Ash then nails Lee from behind and the heels pound on them. The heels then pose.

TNA Injury Report

Elijah is cleared. Kazarian is out of action. The Hardy's are cleared.

The Elegance Brand talk in the back. George says their plan worked out. Heather says she knew Ash would never leave The Brand. George says Ash is part of "The Comeback Club". George says they need a comeback party.

Feat or Fired - AJ Francis vs Mance Warner vs Eric Young vs The Home Town Man vs Jason Hotch vs John Skyler vs Brian Myers vs Eddie Edwards vs Steve Maclin vs Trey Miguel vs Rich Swann

3 briefcases have title shot contracts, 1 has a pink slip. The cases will be revealed next week. Trey Miguel makes his return here after leaving for AEW for about 8 days or so.

Everyone fights. AJ is double lariated over the top. Trey and Rich hug then trade punches. Rich flying headscissors him but Trey headflips out. Trey enzugiri's him. AJ pulls Trey off the top and forearms him. AJ goes on the buckles and is powerbombed down. Trey superkicks Rich.

Eric hits punches on opponents. Eric takes a 4 person superkick. Brian spears Eric. Stacks, Santino and Santana are watching in the back. Trey botches a poisonrana on Hotch. Maclin topes out and Trey step up flip dives out.

Home jumps off the top onto everyone outside. Home grabs a briefcase. Eric takes off Home's mask as he goes to exit the ring (you have to touch the floor). Eric takes the briefcase and pulls off Home's mask. Eric Young has a briefcase.

The Great Hands argue about taking a briefcase. John helps Jason up and is powerbombed. Jason is crotched up top. Steve crosshairs spears Jason. Steve grabs a briefcase and hits John with it. Steve then reaches the floor with a briefcase. Steve Maclin has a briefcase.

Mance chairs Eddie in the back. Mance takes a blue thunder from Eddie on 2 chairs that are across from each other. AJ chokeslams Rich on the apron. Trey handspring kicks AJ off the apron. Ryan goes up top, Trey is in tree of woe and top rope germans him down. Trey grabs a briefcase and goes to the floor. Trey Miguel has a briefcase.

Brian climbs a pole then jumps off of it onto people outside. Eddie then grabs the last briefcase. Eddie is stuck up top. He throws AJ the briefcase and dropkicks it into him. Eddie goes to the floor. Eddie Edwards has a briefcase.

Thoughts: It's a weird match and hard to rate since there are 4 winners and arguments for and against actually getting the briefcase. It was interesting to see Trey back here. Steve, Eric or Trey could all have the fired briefcase in my opinion. The wrestlers did what they could with this but it wasn't super long or great.

Nic Nemeth talks to Mike Santana outside. Mike tells him to make sure he thinks about what he's gonna say. Nic says he's proud of him. He says look at the briefcases out there and says there's a lot of title shots coming his way. Nic says he knows what he's about and he respects him but he's thinking with his heart and not his head. He says emotional champs sometimes don't last too long. He brings up his daughter and they start fighting. The refs and security break it up.

BDE is playing video games with 2 other guys. Nic Nemeth gets in the way and complains about them not seeing what happened. Nic unplugs the game. He says there's a reason they are all soft as we've got marks in the locker room. He complains about his not watching the show. He says BDE is a joke and an experiment. BDE says he played his dues like everyone else. Nic says this is real life and not TikTok or a joke. BDE says he will prove he's not a joke next week against him. Nic says something that I couldn't make out and says good luck. The audio was horrible here.

Elayna Black comes out. She says she's the only one you need to pay attention to. She says she's the only one to get a million views on TNA socials in 24 hours. She says she's the only one to make headlines and the only one who matters. She says it'll become clear she's the only one in line for the Knockouts Title. She says we are in the era of Elayna.

Daria Rae and Santino talk. Arianna Grace wants a moment with her father. She says she's sorry for how she hurt him and says she didn't mean any of those things. She says this job has never been easy and she knows he did it for them. She says she felt she should have done more for him. She says she loves working for him and he's the best dad. She says please forgive me and hugs him. Santino hugs her.

Thoughts
: Huh? This was out of nowhere. I don't buy it.

Mustafa Ali vs Jeff Hardy

They lock up. Ali backs him up in the corner and Jeff hugs him. Jeff waistlock takedowns him and rides his back. Jeff ide headlocks him. Jeff shoulders him over, hiptosses him and punches him out of the ring. Ali side headlocks him then shoulders him over. Jeff totally misses a punch and Ali goes out on it. Jeff dropkicks him in the knee on the apron, making him bang his chin off of it.

Ali boots him in the corner and pounds on him. Jeff's head is banged off the buckles and he lariats Ali. Ali knees him in the face then throws him out. Matt checks on Jeff outside and Order 4 goes after Matt. Matt punches down The Great Hands, Tasha distracts Matt and Agent Zero facekicks Matt outside.

We go to break and return. Ali and Jeff fight on the apron. Steps are turned sideways near them and Jeff hits a twist of fate on Ali on them. They fight on their knees in the ring. Jeff drops him with punches and atomic drops him. Jeff legdrops him in the crotch and basement dropkicks him. Jeff elbow drops him for 2.

Jeff sits up top and Ali dropkicks him. Jeff jumps off the 2nd rope and Ali slides under for some reason, going face first into the middle buckle. Tasha comes in. Jeff puts Tasha on Ali's back and twists of fate's both for 2.

Ali grabs a title belt outside. Matt tugs it away from Ali then nails The Great Hands with it. Zero boots Matt and is sent into the post. Ali rolls in and is hit with a twist of fate. Jeff misses a top rope swanton. Ali top rope 450's Jeff for 2.

Elijah's music hits and he comes out on the ramp. Ali is distracted and Jeff hits a twist of fate on Ali. Jeff top rope swantons Ali and pins him.

Thoughts
: It had a lot of shenanigans and some sloppy moments here. The action was okay at least though.

The Righteous do a promo. They talk about the Hardy's not being great. Vincent says they know what they are and he wants to know what they become. This was really hard to hear.

The System head to the ring.

The System come out with JDC, who I assumed wouldn't be here. JDC thanks everyone for the send-off. He says tonight isn't about him, it's about the future of The System and his replacement. JDC says he hand picked his replacement. He says this man is the future of The System and pro wrestling. He says it's Bear Bronson.

Bear Bronson comes out. Moose doesn't look thrilled. JDC hugs Eddie and Eddie does a bad job low-blowing him. Bear then pounds on Moose and Brian joins in. Cedric Alexander comes out with a chair to defend Moose for some reason. Ced then chairs Moose. Brian pounds on JDC. Bear pounds on JDC. Eddie gets on the mic. He says this is the part of the plan they didn't tell him about. Eddie says they aren't replacing one member - they are replacing too. He says since they had a hard time trusting The System, they will find out the hard way that you can't beat The System.

Alisha yells at the new System as The System pose.

Thoughts:
This wasn't good. Eddie hit a bad low blow on JDC and the turn just didn't make any sense. They spent so much time sending off JDC then just turned on him. They had reason to drop Moose - he's been losing a lot, but they didn't build that up in any way to make this make sense. This new group has a bunch of different unproven parts that don't fit together and it just screams like a group that won't work. The only good thing is that it does make for some stories going forward.

Overall thoughts: It was a much better show than last week as we had more wrestling and some happenings but a lot of the same issues remain - the audio is terrible, the booking was worse and the company just across as low level. There was a lot of stuff that was poorly done here and it just screamed LOLTNA. I'd give this a 4 out of 10 and didn't think it was good overall. I don't think this did anything to change the minds of people who thought last week's show was awful.
