TNA Impact 1/15/2026

TNA Impact 1/15/2026

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2026/01/tna-impact-182026.html

Note - Myron Reed was supposed to face Leon Slater here. Reed, Zach Wentz, Dezmond Xavier, Trey Miguel and Jake Something have all left TNA for AEW. Reed really upgraded in the last year as he wasn't even on TNA much and is now likely getting a much more secure salary in AEW. AEW doesn't really need any of these guys, but I know they are getting paid more and it's hard to blame them for leaving.

We are in Dallas, TX. Tom Hannifan and Matt Rehwoldt are on commentary.

This is TNA's debut show on AMC. They had a small countdown counter on the show before this for this show.

We get a pre-show video where they talk about TNA being a family and being something special.

AJ Styles comes out. He says he will keep it short and sweet as we have wrestling to do. He says welcome to the house that AJ Styles built. He says it's bigger, badder and bolder than ever and it's on AMC. AJ says the fans are TNA and the TNA Nation. He leads a "TNA" chant and says let's create some chaos.

Elijah comes out. He asks who wants to walk with Elijah.

Elijah and The Hardy Boyz (Matt and Jeff Hardy) vs Order 4 (Mustafa Ali, John Skyler and Jason Hotch)

The heels run in and the faces beat them up in the corners. The heels triple team Eli. Ali gets crotched up top. Eli stands on The Great Hands backs and superplexes Ali. The Hardy's lariat The Great Hands over the top rope. We go to break and return.

John shoulders over Eli. John is sent into the post then Jason is back body dropped over the top. Ali is sent face first into the buckles. Jeff comes in and knocks Ali down a few times. He then rewind kicks him and sitout gordbusters him. Ali rolls into a twist of fate from Jeff.

Tasha Steelz gets in the ring. Ali is sent into her. Matt then hits a twist of fate on them together. Jeff splashes Ali. Eli boots Jason off the up and over and jumping knees John. john takes a twist of fate and Jeff top rope swantons John to win.

Thoughts: It was a shorter bout and pretty fast paced. I found it a bit hard to keep up with. The heels were getting thrown everywhere here. It was an alright opener.

Agent Zero comes in after and beats up the faces. The Righteous come out and Zero backs off. The Righteous help The Hardy's out. Dutch hits a black hole slam on Matt. Vincent punches Jeff with brass knucks. Vincent puts a lock with a chain around the earlobe hole in Jeff's ear. Vincent top rope swantons Matt.

Vincent tells Jeff that this will hurt him more than Jeff. Vincent says The Righteous will become new TNA Tag champs at Genesis.

Gia Miller interviews Frankie Kazarian. Kaz says this is the biggest night in TNA history. AJ Styles interrupts. Kaz asks if he's supposed to shake his hand, hug him or kiss him. He says he showed up like he owns the place. Kaz asks if he has anything say, even just "thank you for the house". AJ looks at his TNA Title and says, "thanks".

They show us some content creators (and empty seats) in the crowd. We then see Eric Young. They show us AJ Francis and House Money from Reality of Wrestling (Qynton Wynters and Josiah Jean). We then see Mara Sade and Candice Michelle of WWE fame in the crowd.

Ryan Nemeth interrupts Gia Miller as she talks to some celebs. Ryan pokes one of the celebs and is pushed. Ryan tries to hop the rail and is hit by one of the stars and chopped down.

Santino Marella comes out in a better mood than he has been. Santino says it doesn't get bigger than Thursday night on AMC. He says they fought tooth and nail to get here and nothing will stop them. He says it'll be the start of something incredible. Santino says he's been hurt, angry and confused. He says you can't shake off your own flesh and blood turning on you easily.

Santino says the board decided he could use some assistance. He then brings out Daria Rae who was Sonya Deville in WWE. Santino welcomes her to TNA. She congratulates him and says he's one of the pillars of this company. She says one thing this company doesn't need is Santino. She says they don't need his jokes, they need structure, discipline and professionalism. She says Santino has none of this.

Santino says to take it easy and she tells him to shut up. She says she can do his job better than he can. She says she plans on doing that and tells him stay out of her way. She says she's "The Suit" and says you shut up when she's talking. She says she signed a new Knockout to TNA. She then tells us to welcome Elayna Black, the former Cora Jade.

Thoughts
: Oh wow, two new signings here. Cora's not a bad pick-up. She has her fans and she's young enough and maybe able to get better. I've never cared that much for Sonya though.

AJ Styles talks to Mike Santana in the back. He says he has known Kazarian for 20 years. He says he wants Mike to kick his @ss. AJ says he held the company down as long as he could and said now it's Mike turn. He tells him to do what he does best - win.  Mike says, "thanks" and they shake hands.

The Elegance Brand is in the ring with Perez Hilton and someone under a coat. George says they have a pop culture icon and show us Perez Hilton. He thanks everyone and says he's use to covering red carpet events. He says the crowd brought their game - their D-game. George says Dallas has a lot of filthy, degenerate pigs. He says they will soon be crowed Knockout Tag champs. George says we will see the unveiling of the greatest makeover in wrestling. They then show us Mr. Elegance. Mr. Elegance talks. He says he's been chosen and made a big transformation from last week. He says to look at him and soak it in.

TNA Knockouts Tag Titles - The Iinspiration (Cassie Lee and Jessie McKay) vs The Elegance Brand (Heather and M By Elegance)

The faces take down the heels and hit mounted punches. The Brand's head's are banged off the buckles. We go to break and return. M is hit in the gut by Cass. Cass sunset flips her for 2. M lariats her. Zaria and Sol Ruca are watching in the back. M ddt's Cass' leg. M top rope moonsaults but Cas gets her knees up.

Jess gets in and lariats the heels. Jess spinning forearms HBE then does it to M. Jeff flying forearms both in the corner and throws M out. Jess corner meteora's HBE then hits a suplex on her for 2.

HBE hits a forearm on Jess. Cass pushes HBE off the top onto Mr. Elegance outside. M takes a double gordbuster. Mr. Elegance distracts the ref on the apron. The faces slap Mr. Elegance. Thoughts:
There was a ton going on here. It was another faster paced bout. I was impressed by M's top rope moonsault. It was average.

Stacks and Arianna Grace talk in the back. Stacks says Santino was trying to figure out who let NXT people in. Grace and Stacks say they did it. Grace says Santino is stressed out from her turning on him. She says they fixed his problem and she will do a better job than he has. Santino is in the ring and brings out Lei Ying Lee and Xia Brookside, The Angel Warriors. Santino says Dani Luna can't compete at Genesis due to a visa crisis. He says Lei Ying Lee signed an open challenge for Genesis. Zaria and Sol Ruca come out.

Sol says they were here to scout competition but couldn't resist when they heard about the open challenge. She says this won't be easy but says they have a warrior of their own and says Zaria should answer the open challenge. She says no one is more deserving than her. Zaria then signs the contract. Her and Lei shake hands and Lei holds the title up.

Santino talks to Cedric Alexander in the back. He says they have an international problem. He says Leon Slater won't be on Genesis and he needs a replacement. He says Ced will get his X-Division Title shot. He says it'll be him, Moose and Joe Hendry. Joe's photo and music appears on Ced's phone.

Thoughts
: Man this PPV is looking like a disaster with two of the matches already having to be changed.

Eddie says it's him and JDC in JDC's final dance at Genesis. JDC puts the crowd over. He says Saturday will be his last match. He says The System isn't weakening but evolving. TNA World Title - Frankie Kazarian (c) vs Mike Santana

Mike should have never lost his title but he will win it back here.

Kaz armdrags Mike twice to start. Mike armdrags him. Mike side headlocks him then shoulders him over. Mike armdrags him. Mike running back elbows him then flying headscissors him. Mike triangle plancha's Kaz outside. Mike back elbows him and Kaz belly to belly suplexes him on the floor.

We go to break and return. Mike hits chops. Mike backrolls but is caught with a backcracker for 2. Kaz hits some shots. Mike fires up and starts no selling them. Mike hits punches. Kaz back elbows him out of the corner then boots him out of the corner. Mike enzugiri's Kaz.

Mike hits a code red for 2. Kaz gets his knees up on Mike's corner cannonball. Kaz hits an angel's wings for 2.

Kaz misses a legdrop over the 2nd rope. Mike is slingshotted in and hit with a cutter. Kaz springboard legdrops him for 2. Kaz grabs his title and the ref takes it. They trade shots. Mike facekicks him. Kaz tries to dropkick Mike and seemingly knocks him into the ref. The ref goes down. Kaz hits a knee lift then Mike spinning lariats him.

Mike tries to wake the ref up. Kaz hits Mike with the title. Kaz hits deadeye on the apron for 2. Kaz canadian destroyers him. Mike no sells it and spinning lariats him for 2. They botch a spot for 2. Kaz misses a spinning lariat then Mike hits a spinning lariat for the win.

Thoughts
: It wasn't that good. Mike basically no sold a deadeye on the apron and a canadian destroyer. They also botched a spot near the end. I didn't have high expectations for this and it wasn't that much better than I expected. Mike at least won the title back after losing it for stupid reasons.

Nic Nemeth had mentioned that he would show up and cash in his "Call Your Shot" trophy but never did.

Overall thoughts: (Updated 1/16) I didn't think it was a good debut episode on AMC for TNA. There wasn't a ton of wrestling with only 3 matches and there were a lot of commercials. A lot of TNA's stars weren't in action for unknown reasons and a bunch of people left TNA earlier in the week, so this felt like a completely different show than what we normally see. AJ, Bubba Ray Dudley and Dixie Carter were the only former TNA people to really appear on this show, which I thought was a mistake. They also had to do a lot of last minute changes to set up this week's PPV, which was really poorly timed. We did get some new debuts here at least but I can't say I have high hopes about them. I would only give this a 4 out of 10. This did not make TNA look like a real contender to AEW and it looked far more like a return to the LOLTNA days.

If I had to book this show, I would have had more old TNA legends appear like Raven, Angle, James Storm, Awesome Kong, The Beautiful People and others. I would have had all the bigger stars in action. I would have had an Ultimate X match or some other big gimmick match as well. I also definitely would have had the X-Division stars in action here, as they are such a big part of TNA's legacy.
