TM misses a dropkick and Bill knee drops him. TM is sent into the buckles and Bill boots him. Bill bulldogs him and pulls him up on the pin attempt.
Bill elbow drops his back and sends him into the buckles. Bill hits another bulldog and pins him.
Thoughts: It was a total destruction of Tomas here. Bill did almost all strikes here. TM wasn't a bad face and took some big bumps out to the seemingly exposed floor. Bill also hammed it up quite a bit here. It could have been a little shorter but wasn't bad.
Chief Big Heart vs. Tony Newberry
Tony grabs Big from behind. Big hits some euros and pulls Tony's new shirt over his head. Big pounds on him and Tony goes out to regroup. Tony gets back in. Tony grabs the hair and hits palm strikes to the throat. Big fires back and does a war dance. Big back body drops him then hits him in the gut. Big chops him down. Big bow and arrows him and submits him.
Thoughts: Man was this a fight and a total brawl. These two eye raked each other, hit each other in the throat and just pounded on each other. Some of the strikes weren't the best but they really did a good job of making this look like a drunken back alley fight. Tony was fantastic here. He took big bumps, he begged off and cheated the whole way through. When they talk about wrestling for the people high up in the stands, Tony knew how to do it. There was more spirit in this than virtually anything else today. Add in a hot crowd and a good announcer and this was a lot of fun. They didn't do a lot, but they got as much out of it as possible.
Argentina Apollo vs. Bob Boyer
They lock up and clean break. Bob top wristlocks him and is thrown down. Bob headscissors him and AA headstands out. AA water wheel drops him. AA is put in a headscissors again and he handstands. They then have their legs in the air and AA tries to pin him down.
AA indian deathlocks his legs, grabs his arm and sends Bob's legs up in the air. AA has a figure four variation on and they roll into the ropes. They debate with the ref about how to break this hold. AA ends up standing up and breaks the hold.
AA massage's Bob's leg and shakes his hand. They do a double knuckle lock and AA does a version of the shame hold on him. AA ties up Bob's legs and pulls on his arm. Bob rope breaks. AA Cartwheels and trips him. He doe it again and again. AA half crabs him and Bob pats him on the back. AA thinks the ref did it and AA lets go. Bob hits him from behind, snapmares him and knees him in the back. Bob kneelifts him. Bob snapmares him twice.
Bob bangs AA's face off his knee several times. They criss-cross and AA hits a hard crossbody. AA pins him.
Thoughts: It was a little long but it was a good technical match. Apollo did some great technical wrestling here and was moving around well. I liked the story of Bob getting outmatched and having to resort to dirty tactics to try and win this before going down.
AA chops him after and Bob fires back. They trade shots.
Chief White Owl vs. Steve Stanlee
SS hits him off the lock up and throws more punches. He pounds on him in the corner and Owel drops him with a shot. Owl does a war dance as he gets fired up and drops him with another shot. SS eye rakes him then hits punches in the corner. SS beale's him then Owl dropkicks him twice. Owl snapmares him. SS eye rakes him and clubs on him. SS clubs on him and the bell rings as we go to a curfew draw at 6:05. They declare Owl the winner by decision.
Owl drops him with chest clubs, chops him down and tries to pin him but the match is over.
Thoughts: Steve was definitely the old school bleached blonde heel type here. He had some good and bad punches but you could see the cockiness and maliciousness in what he did. Owl showed a little more fire than Big Heart did earlier. This went to a draw, so we didn't really get to see how this would play out. I felt like they were about 60% of the way through when this got cut off and it's a shame because I wanted to see Owl's comeback. It was just so-so.
Ray Morgan closes the show and talks to a fan in the crowd. The fan says he won't miss the next show and Ray sends us off.
Overall thoughts: I thought it was a good show, or at least what we saw of it was a good show. We had 4 matches. The opener was one sided but Marin wasn't a bad face and Watts was heelish in how he dealt with him. Newberry/Big Heart was a good back alley fight. Newberry sold and bumped big and they got rough with each other. I really enjoyed that bout. Apollo/Boyer was a good bout as well. Apollo showed some great technical wrestling skills which frustrated Bob. Bob then started heeling it up to even things up. The main only got 6 minutes and was cut off earlier so we don't know how it would have played out. Stanlee was a typical cocky heel here and did a lot of clubbing and eye rakes. White Owl looked a little better than Big Heart but we didn't get to see an ending here. The crowd was great for most of this and Ray Morgan was a very good car salesman type of announcer. This was almost all wrestling as well. I'd give this a 6 out of 10 as I really enjoyed 2 of the 4 matches here.
