AEW Dynamite 8/12/2026

We are in Las Vegas, NV. Paul Wight, Excalibur and Tony Schiavone are on commentary.

Will Ospreay comes out to talk. He asks how the crowd is and if they lost a lot of money tonight. He says he got to be in Arena Mexico again and it's an honor. He says he was nervous in Mexico. He says he was told his grandfather passed away when he got there. He says he knows his grandfather would tell him to stop crying and go do a flip down in Mexico. He says he will leave ever single bit of his body in the ring for us. 

He says he's here to set an example. He says Kenny Omega wasn't at Arena Mexico. He says he knows Kenny is here and invites him out. Don Callis comes out instead. Don talks about him and Kenny screwing Mox over to get the title. He says he had to remind Kenny who his dad was later on and stabbed him in the face. He says he then brought Will Ospreay here and put him against Kenny Omega.

He says Will owes everything to him. He says his road is not paved in gold like he thinks but it's paved in blood. The Don Callis Family then attack Will. Kenny Omega comes out and beats up The Family with a pipe. Kenny teases hitting Will with the pipe but doesn't.

Kenny says he felt what Will said but says he never thinks. Kenny said Will has gotten sloppy and turned into a fool. Kenny says he can't help Will like this again and it's just them from now on. Will says he didn't want his help and won't need it.

Thoughts: Yeah, this was a bunch of random stuff here that didn't make much sense. The Family attacked Will for no reason and Kenny helped out Will for even less of a reason after Will attacked him a few weeks ago.

#2 Spot in the Casino Gauntlet - MJF vs Mike Bailey vs Nick Wayne

MJF grabs the ring announcer Justin Roberts before the match and says to call him the one true champ.  

MJF goes out to stall. He then says he will let the other two battle it out on commentary and calls Schiavone a fat, old prick. Mike takes down Nick twice and taps him on the head. They kip up together and stand off. Nick rolls up Mike for 2. They show a tweet from Andrade El Idolo on a graphic. 

Mike flying headscissors Nick. Nick jumping euros him. Nick tope con hilos outside. Mike triangle asai moonsaults Nick outside. Mike armdrags Nick. Mike double boots him out of the corner and MJF sweeps Mike on the top buckle. 

MJF hits mounted shots on Mike. Nick hits mounted shots on Mike. MJF raises Nick's hand. Nick standing shiranui's Mike and MJF tries to take the pin. Nick and MJF argue. MJF slaps Nick. Nick superkicks him. 

Mike hits forearms on Nick. Mike facekicks him. Mike chest kicks Nick down. Nick dragon suplexes Mike. Mike standing moonsault double knee drops him. MJF pulls Mike's throat down over the top rope. Mike top rope moonsaults both opponents outside.

We go to PiP break and return. Mike misses a top rope ssp and standing spanish flies MJF. Mike falcon arrows Nick. Mike top rope ssp's Nick for 2. Nick hits MJF in the gut. Nick goes for an os cutter and is swatted down. MJF powerbomb backbreakers Nick. 

Mike corkscrew kicks Nick and 2nd rope ultimate weapon's him. MJF throws Mike out and armbars Nick. MJF submits Nick.

Thoughts: It was acceptable. Nick and Mike didn't get to do anything too crazy and MJF held things together by being a heel and taking shortcuts.

MJF gets on the mic after. He say he told us he would win as the champ always wins. He says that's why he is walking out of Wembley with the contract and no one can stop him. Andrade El Idolo's music hits but he doesn't come out. He says he's not showing up because he kicked his @ss last week. He says Kenny and Will are both afraid of him and better pray not to have to face him. He says we will then all find out that he's the one true champ.

Divine Dominion are in The Brawling Birds' bar. They say them saying they are undefeated means nothing when they never faced them. Lena says The Birds' biggest moment will be their massacre. They then drop beer mugs on the floor and say, "Here's to The Birds, they had a good run". 

Mick Foley interviews the full Bang Bang Gang. Jay welcomes Mick to The Gang. Jay says The Dogs and Death Riders have gotten the best of them every turn. Jay says their days are numbered. Jay says he will beat Finlay tonight. He says he hopes he can face Mox and beat him for the Continental Cup.

AEW Continental Challenge Cup First Round Match - Jay White vs David Finlay

DF runs at him and is chopped down on the apron. Jay chops him outside. Jay's head is banged off the commentary table. Jay chops him in the corner and DF shoulders him over. DF sentons him. DF stunners Jay over the top rope. DF boots Jay in the corner. Jay hurricanrana's him from the buckles, lariats him over the top and slingshot plancha's him. 

Jay gordbusters DF on the apron and chops him. Jay suplexes him for 2. DF double throat thrusts him and drops him throat first on the top rope. DF neckbreakers him.  

We go to PiP break and return. DF running euros him in the corner. Jay underhook suplexes him into the buckles. Jay ddt's him for 2. They roll each other up for 2 counts. DF uranage backbreakers him. Jay knocks him off the buckles. DF euros him. Jay flatliners him then germans him. 

DF back elbows him down in the back of the neck. DF ddt's him for 2. Jay chest kicks DF down. DF double underhook dominators him for 2. DF hits oblivion on Jay for 2. DF hits lariats on Jay. Jay blade runners him and pins him.

Thoughts: It was okay. Jay won as expected. They had a spot here where Jay did a suplex and held his neck after. The announcers pointed this out and I'm curious as to what the deal was with it. DF hit a great oblivion on Jay.

Tony Schiavone interviews Brodido and Adam Page in the ring. They are the current trios champs. Bandido talks in Spanish. King says they are the new trios champs. 

Swervce Strickland and Prince Nana come out. Nana tells Schiavone to get out. Swerve says he sees 3 guys he had bad blood with being friends. He says they have nothing in common except for him. Swerve talks about beating Band. He says last time he saw King, he was laying face down in his own blood. Swerve said he took his eye off of Page for a second and he lost his AEW Title and any future shots at it. 

Page says he kept his eye on Swerve and Swerve doesn't have room to talk about results. He says he did heinous stuff and has nothing to show for it.

The Demand and The Lethal Twist come out. Ric says Toa and Kaun would love to put Nana down for good. Ric says the trios titles were stolen from them because Toa's shoulders weren't on the mat. Ric says they demand their rematch. Ric says it's not safe for the faces as they have 9 guys who hate them. He tells them to get to stepping. Swerve gets on the ramp and Ric has words for him. Swerve walks past. He says King might do the barking but Ricochet is being the b!tch. Page tells Ric's crew to come down and take the trios belts if they want them back. Ric says they will do it on their time.

We see clips of a Willow Nightingale interview with Renee. Mercdes Mone attacks Willow and whips her with a title belt. She says she will give her some of her smile back and calls her a dumb b!tch.

AEW TNT Title - Kevin Knight (c) vs Chris Jericho

KK jumps on him and stomps him in the corner. CJ hits chops and brainbusters him. CJ double underhook backbreakers him for 2. CJ hits bad punches on him up top. CJ hurricanrana's him down. 

CJ lariats KK over the top. CJ top rope plancha's KK outside then he hugs Paul Wight at commentary. KK jumps off the commentary table and lariats him down. We go to PiP break and return. 

KK lariats him down. CJ gets his knees up on KK's asai moonsault. CJ shoulders over KK. KK back body drops CJ onto the ramp. KK jumps over the top and flying lariats him on the ramp. KK stomps CJ on the ramp.

CJ AA's KK on the ramp. CJ chases Don Callis around the ring. KK tries a slingshot plancha but CJ knee's him as he flies at him. KK cradles CJ for 2. KK backslides CJ and gets caught with his feet on the ropes. The ref stops KK then CJ tries to pin KK with his feet on the ropes. KK jumping ddt's him. 

KK hits CJ on the buckles. CJ 2nd rope powerbombs KK For 2. CJ crabs KK. Don Callis hits CJ in the head with a screwdriver to break it up. KK coast to coast dropkicks CJ for 2. KK comes off the buckles and CJ codebreakers him for 2. KK kicks CJ low and urange's him. KK then pins him.

Thoughts: They had a couple of moments were a spot could have been done cleaner but it was fine otherwise. Jericho put out a good effort and both guys flew around a lot. Jericho lost as expected here. This maybe got a little too much time.

The Death Riders do a promo. Claudio says he will treat everyone the same in The Continetal Cup. Mox says his run in the tournament could end tonight vs Jack Perry. He asks if Jack is prepared like him and if he lives it like they do. 

Kris Statlander vs Viva Van

Kri wristocks her and Van reverses it. Kris shoulders her over. Van flying headscissors her. Kris slams her and flying headscissors her. Van upkicks Kris then spinning heel kicks her. Van's springboard is blocked. 

Van 2nd rope gordbusters her then top rope dropkicks her. Kris victory rolls her for 2. Van rolls out of a spinning lariat. Kris headflips and superkicks her. Kris spinning lariats her Kris half-package tombstones her and pins her.

Thoughts: Kris was always winning this one and it was just a question of how long it took. It wasn't anything too special but at least Van didn't botch.

Mick Foley interviews Kris in the ring after. He shills his shirt and points out his daughter in the front row. Mick says Kris will face Maya World, Persephone and Shida in a TBS Title 4-Way next week. Kris says she feels ready to fight and feels great. She says she's proud that Maya is the champ. She says she will make Shida and Persephone bend over backwards and shove their heads up their own @sses.  Persephone comes out and laughs on the ramp. Shida then comes out and neither say anything.

Kris is surrounded by the heels a she just stands in the ring. Kris then leaves safely.

Persephone and Hikaru Shida vs Maya World and Thunder Rosa

Maya side headlocks Pers. Pers heads out of the ring then tags out. Shida and Rosa go at it and roll around. Rosa 2nd rope diving armdrags her. Rosa flying headscissors Shida into the ropes. Rosa flying knees Shida from behind on the ropes. Rosa lariats Shida for 2. Shida eye pokes Rosa and rolls her up for 2. 

Rosa does an armdrag + headscissors takeover on the heels. Rosa chops up Pers and chest forearms her. Rosa enzugiri's Pers then dropkicks Shida through the ropes. Pers basement dropkicks Rosa in the head and catapults her throat into the ropes.  

We go to PiP break and return. Pers foot chokes Rosa. Shida knees Rosa in the head. Pers twisting fisherman's neckbreakers Rosa. Rosa hits a double ddt off a double suplex attempt. Rosa double lariats the heels.

Maya tags in and top rope dropkicks the heels. Maya hits fying back elbows. Maya fallaway slams Pers while trying a bridge pin on Shida. Maya crossbodies Pers off the apron. Rosa top rope crossbodies Shida. Shida forearms Rosa down. 

Shida pumping knees Rosa in the jaw. Shida falcon arrows Rosa for 2. Maya forearms the heels. She then rolls Pers and stunners Shida off of it. Shida flying knees Pers on a failed double team. Maya superkicks Shida then fallaway slams her with a bridge. Maya pins Shida.

Thoughts: It got a lot of time and ended up being an okay bout. Shida hit some stiff trikes here and Maya had a clean night. This worked out a lot better than I expected, but didn't do much to put over Pers and Shida as challengers for next week. 

Kris holds up Maya's and Rosa's arms after.

Darby Allin does a promo. He says Kevin Knight attacked him after he lost his title. He says he has no regrets and was burning the candle at both ends as champ. He says Kevin is doing that now as TNT champ. Darby says there's no amount of training Kevin can do for their match. He says Kevin lives up to his potential if he can beat him.  

Kyle Fletcher and Don Callis are interviewed. Kyle says Mike Bailey brings the best out of him but he's still in his title reign. He says he defended his title in 3 countries and wants to do that at Wembley. Don brings in Kazuchika Okada and Kyle will defend his International Title vs Okada and Konosuke Takeshita. Don says there's a 100% chance The Family retains the title. Kyle asks about his chances. Okada says all that matters is that the International Title stays in the family. Don and Okada cheer and Kyle walks off in frustration. 

AEW Continental Challenge Cup First Round Match - Jon Moxley vs Jack Perry

Jack side headlock takeovers Mox. Mox headscissors him and they stand off. Mox trips Jack. Jack chops Mox then flying headscissors him out. Jack dropkicks him through the ropes. Jack goes for a tope and Mox forearms him down. Jack is sent into the post and he bleeds. 

Jack boots Mox and hits chops. Mox bangs Jack's head off the commentary table. Jack tries to shiranui Mox outside but is thrown through the timekeeper's table. We go to PiP break and return. 

Mox slams Jack for 2. Mox hits crossface shots on Jack. Mox rubs Jack's face in the mat and pulls on his cuts.  Mox knees Jack in the face, ties up his leg and pulls hair. Mox headscissors him and ties up his legs. Jack rebound lariats Mox and Mox no sells it. Mox boots him in the face. JP dropkicks Mox out. Jack then topes him twice. Jack tope con hilos him outside. Jack top rope moonsaults him outside. 

Jack top rope elbow drops Mox for 2. Mox running lariats him. Mox gotch style piledrivers him for 2. Mox lariats him down for 2. Mox hits mounted shots on Jack. Jack slaps him and gives him the middle finger. 

Mox hits forearms. Jack rebound lariats him. Jack sunset flips Mox for 2. Jack STF's Mox. Mox escapes and sleepers him. Jack is out and Mox wins.

Thoughts: It was an okay match. Jack sold and bled. They didn't overdo it and Jack had the general idea of what he was supposed to do down. This got a lot of time and I was fine with this one.

They shake hands after.

Overall thoughts: This one went until 10:22PM. The matches were all fine for the most part here. The show was mostly focused on in-ring action as usual. I'd say the main was maybe the best match of the night here. I wouldn't say this did a whole to build up All In though. I'd give it a 6 out of 10 as the show was fine overall, minus the Kenny/Will/Don Callis segment.
