John Hawking vs Lightning

We join this in progress. Light hits corner spears. John ducks a lariat and hits punches. John shoulders him out of the ring. John then hits shots on him outside. Light double axe handles him in the ring and hits punches. Light chops him and lariats him down. 

Light ddt's John for 2. Light chinlocks him. Light throws him down backwards. Light misses a corner charge and John rolls him up for 2. Light lariats John down. Light punches John in the head. Light clubs his back. Light slams him and elbow drops him for 2. 

We go to break.

Brandon The Skater does a promo. He says life is full of surprises. He says Jovan will defend the title against him in a fans are the lumberjacks match. He says Jovan must be celebrating thinking that he can finally finish him off. Brandon says he has the most wins in stipulation matches. He says history won't repeat itself and he plans to finish him off and take the title that everyone knows belongs to him. He says he will finish him off and that's his problem if he doesn't like it. We saw this already. 

"El Hostil" Jovan does a promo. He says he made history when the fans got behind him as he won the title. He says he has carried the division on his back since then and shown he is the best junior to ever exist in PR. He says they will be back to the fight they had at the end of last season and he says he will show him why he's the junior in PR and WWC. We saw this already. 

We return from break.

Light chinlocks John. Light bends over and is kicked. John neckbreakers him. John hits punches and lariats him down. John corner splashes him twice. John samoan drops him for 2. Light chokeslams him for 2. John misses a corner splash, Light spears him and pins him.

Thoughts: We had a big surprise here with Lightning beating John mostly clean. I was shocked. It was acceptable but they didn't do a lot but the basics here. John doesn't move that well these days and Lightning has limited offense. 

Lou Forza and Amaddeo Sole. Lou asks what the difference is between being desperate champs and calm champs like them. Lou says the desperate people make mistakes. Sole says what Mike and Oscar do is admirable because they are foolish. He says they don't get along anymore and they won't reach their level. We saw this already. 

Mike Nice and Oscar Benabe do a promo. Mike says they should put their mistakes behind them and move forward. Mike says the tag titles belong around their waists. Mike says they will emerge victorious. Oscar says they won't make mistakes again. We saw this already. 

WWC Puerto Rican Title - Xavant (c) vs "La Amenaza" Bryan vs Joe Bravo

This is from 7/18. We join this in progress. Bran hits punches on Joe then Joe takes punches from both opponents. Joe and Xavant slide out and fight outside. Bryan chops Joe outside and Xavant gets some shots in on Joe. Bryan forearms Xavant off the apron. Bryan then hits punches and chops on Joe.

Joe ddt's Bryan. Xavant knocks Bryan off the apron with a forearm. Joe hits punches on Xavant and russian legsweeps him. Joe then hits more shots on Xavant on the mat. Bryan's throat is pulled down over the top. Joe back elbows Xavant down. 

We go to break. 

Sai Perez says she will face 3 girls at the next show. She says those girls have already see the quality of her wrestling. She say she will make the girls sweat. She says she will them what it means to be a real fighter and says to find out on 8/29 if you don't acknowledge it. We saw this already.

Wilfredo Rivera does a promo. He says he faces Informante again and asks what he did to get a TV Title shot. He says he will only be able to grow as a wrestler when he faces challenges instead of running away from them. He says La Sombra isn't Informante's biggest problem, he is. We saw this already.

We return from break. Joe kneels on Xavant's throat then knocks Bryan off the apron. Joe chinlocks Xavant and uses the ropes for leverage. 

Xavant hits him in the gut and swinging neckbreakers him. Xavant and Bryan shove each other. They shoulder battle then double lariat each other down. Joe pounds on Xavant. Joe takes punches from both opponents then takes a double back elbow. Joe is double lariated.

Joe takes a double chokeslam. Xavant and Bryan celebrate their work. Bryan dumps Xavant over the top. Bryan AA's Joe. Xavant throws Bryan out. Xavant splashes and pins Joe.

Thoughts: It was a simple one and it was fine. Xavant and Bryan tried to be friends here but kept getting into it. Joe mostly got double teamed here. We mostly just had basic offense in this but nobody botched anything and we got to see the majority of it.

Tony Leyenda does a promo. He says Xavant will say that he will fight at the next show with his heart and defend his homeland. He says Bryan will act like a dog call him "quefe" (a derogatory term). He says he's seen as the hypocrite though. Tony says he's the best and they know it and he'll become champ again and they know it. He says every time WWC puts him in an uncomfortable position, he comes out with his hand raised. He says he's a once in a lifetime athlete. He says he trains hard for this and will always come out on top. He says the two pigeons he is facing are friends of the bosses. He says he's the end. We saw this already.

Xavant does a promo. He says the champ has arrived and he thanks everyone in Aguadilla for the support. He shills the 8/29 show. He says someone in the office wants to make things difficult for him. He says when things get tough, the tough guys step up. He says Bryan stands in front of the camera like a tough guy and no one knows what he said. He calls Tony Leyenda a big shot and mocks him for wearing short shorts on camera. He says he's pathetic. Xavant says he's a man of his word. He says he fights for his country and will persevere until he triumphs as that is what heroes do. We saw this already.

Zcion RT1 does a promo. He says the war with Lightning has gone on for a decade. He says he remembers it and Lightning's partner Thunder. He says him and his partner ran into a surprise and it was seeing the revolution raise like foam. He says the rest is history. He says Lightning had to bring out Toledo, Forza and Sole last time to save him. He says it's time to put an end to this war. He says they will do it in Zcion's style in the cage of death. He says he will end his legacy once and for all. He tells him to enter the cage if he wants to be champ and take out the maximum leader. He says he will have to kill him and tells him to prepare for the fight of his life. He says he will end his legacy and show him that this is the time of the maximum leader. He says he will have a bunch of fans supporting him and seeing the legend get destroyed.

Axel and Abel talk and close the show.

Overall thoughts: We only had 2 new matches here. Hawking/Lightning was simple but acceptable and Lightning got a surprise win. The three way was fine and had a story with Xavant and Bryan having their issues. Almost every promo shown though was a repeat and that was lame. I'd give it a 5 out of 10 as the two matches shown were fine but I wouldn't recommend this. It was acceptable overall.
