Masatora Yasuda & Yuya Uemura vs. United Empire (HENARE & Jakob Austin Young)

The four get in each other's faces before the bell.

Yuya and Hen lock up. Hen poses at him. They trade forearms and Hen taunts him. Hen shoulders him over. Yuya armdrags and dropkicks him. Hen double flying shoulders his opponents. Hen then stomps on Yuya. Masa's head is banged off the buckles and Jake chops him. 

Jake facewash kicks him in the corner then spits on him. Masa hits forearms on Hen and Hen chops him down. Hen sentons him. Yuya comes in and hits forearms on Hen. Yuya forearms him then backdrops him for 2. Hen samoan drop Yuya.

Jake and Masa get in and trade forearms. Masa hiptosses him and slams him for 2. Masa crabs him. They roll each other up for 2 counts. Jake shining wizards him and twisting suplexes him for 2. Hen punches Yuya in the gut. Yuya chops Hen down twice. Hen lariats him.

Masa jack knifes Jae for 2. Jake enzugiri's him then hits a shiranui. Jake pins him.

Thoughts: It was a shorter bout and it's a shame they didn't get more time as I thought they had something going here. This was an acceptable opener and I'm interested to see Henare vs Yuya. 

Aaron Wolf & Tatsuya Matsumoto vs. House Of Torture (Dick Togo & Ren Narita)

Wolf's team gets hit as they enter Ren eye rakes Wolf and sends him into the rails. Ren hits Wolf with a chair. Togo stomps Tat in the ring. Togo shoulders Tat over. Tat water wheel drops him for 2. Tat crabs him and Ren breaks it up by choking Tat. Togo kicks Tat in the back.

Togo slams Tat for 2. Togo sharpshooters Tat and Tat ropebreaks. Tat gets his legs split. Tat hits chops on Ren and Rey eye rakes him. Tat dropkicks him. 

Wolf gets in and hits chops on Ren. Wolf corner lariats Ren then suplexes him for 2. Togo comes in and double throat thrusts Wolf before getting slammed. Wolf elbow drops Ren's back. Ren double axe handles Wolf low. Ren hits punches. Wolf shoulder throws him. Tat rolls Ren into a leglock. Tat running euros Ren.

Ren chokes Tat. Tat rolling legbars him. Togo breaks it up with a slingshot swanton. Ren then leglocks Tat and submits him.

Thoughts: It was short and not much of note. The heels cheated as usual and won. 

United Empire (Callum Newman & Zane Jay) vs. Unbound Co. (Gedo & OSKAR)

Newman refuses to come in before the match and sits out in the crowd. The bell rings, Newman goes out and stalls again outside. Newman then tags out and goes outside. Zane eye rakes Gedo in the corner then Gedo chokes him. Gedo eye pokes Zane. Zane thesz presses him and hits mounted shots. Zane then chokes him.

Os gets hold on CN. CN facekicks him and dropkicks him outside. CN runs the ropes then stomps on him. Gedo takes a facekick from CN and Zane gets a 2 count on Gedo. Gedo rolls up Zanr for 2. CN stomps Gedo and kicks him in the chest. CN avoids Os and Zane pulls Os over the top. Gedo flatliners Zane.

Os comes in and shoulders Zane over. Os lariats Zane then sleepers him. Os spinning sleepers Zane. CN kicks Os in the back to break it up. Os then starts pounding on CN. They go into the crowd and fight. They go up into the stands to fight. Os pounds on him and chokes him. They then both get counted out.

Thoughts: It wasn't any good. It was all heel shenanigans and stalling. They heavily pushed that Newman didn't want to fight Oskar all throughout this one.

Newman and Oskar brawl in the stands after. They get broken up a few times and continue the fight down to ringside. Oskar gets the edge.

TMDK (Hartley Jackson & Zack Sabre Jr.) vs. Unbound Co. (Daiki Nagai & Drilla Moloney)

DM and Zack trade armlocks. DM kips up out of an armlock and wristlocks him. DM arm throws Zack. DM side headlock takeovers him. DM headscissors him. Zack guillotines him in the air and is rammed into the corner. DM rolls him up for 2. Zack twists the ankle.

They each miss kicks and DM dodges a dive at his legs. Nagai and Hart tag in. Nagai hits shoulderblocks and is knocked over. Hart splashes him for 2. Zack euros Nagai down. Hart and Zack hit shots on Nagai in the corner. Nagai hits shots on Hart. 

Hart misses a legdrop and Nagai basement dropkicks him. DM gets in. He trades forearms with Hart. Hart catches his leapfrog. Hart then slams DM. Hart corner splashes and lariats DM. DM slams Hart. 

Nagai comes in. He knocks Zack off the apron then topes him. Nagai slips on a springboard inside and Hart double axe handles him. Nagai running dropkicks him. Nagai dropkicks Hart from behind and spinebusters him.

Nagai goes for a crab on Hart and Hart stops it. Nagai spinning ddt's Hart. Hart back body drops Nagai. Hart low crossbodies Nagai and sentons him for 2. DM kneelifts Hart. Zack and DM euro each other. Zack armbars DM over the top. Nagai rolls up Hart for 2. Hart sentons him and sitout powerbombs him. Hart then pins him.

Thoughts: It was acceptable. Nagai was fun and fiery like usual and Hart put a stop to a lot of it. The Drila/Zach sections weren't bad either. This did mostly get enough time to play out.

G1 Climax 2026 Block A Match - SANADA vs. Yuto-Ice

San is wearing his old blue gear with the stars on it and they say it's because the first match Ice ever saw was Big Daddy Voodoo vs Sanada in AJPW.

San and Ice break early and San clean breaks him. Ice wristlocks him and armlocks him. San hammerlocks him and side headlocks him. Ice shoulders San over. San dropkicks him in the knee and chest. Ice boots San in the head then boots him in the corner. 

Ice running knees San in the corner for 2. San dropkicks Ice in the knee. San magic screws him. Ice drops San with shots then he PK's him. San hits punches on Ice and Ice fires back. Ice slaps him around and punches him down. Ice suplexes San for 2. 

San dropkicks Ice in the knee then shining wizards him. San top rope moonsaults him for 2. Ice high kicks San. San pushes Ice into the ref. Ice chest kicks San down. Yoshinobu Kanemaru comes down, trips San and spits whiskey in Ice's eyes. Ice's throat is then pulled down over the top. Kanemaru gives San a guitar. San hits Ice in the head with a guitar then pretends he got hit with it. The ref does the knockout count for both guys, San gets up and Ice doesn't. San wins via Knockout.

Thoughts: It wasn't good. We had a bunch of shenanigans here that brought down any good will this might have gained. 

G1 Climax 2026 Block A Match - Jake Lee vs. Great-O-Khan

Jake is in clown make-up today. He screws around outside to start. Khan goes after him and gets sent into the rails. Khan kicks the middle rope into Jake's crotch. Jake low blows Khan and kicks him in the butt to end him out. Jake takes his cup out and dances. 

Khan grabs a chair and tries to bring it in. Khan swings it at Jake then Jake pretends Khan hit him with the chair. The ref buys it and Khan is DQ'd.

Thoughts: This was absolute garbage. 

Khan goes to chair Jake's head into a chair after. Jacob Austin Young tries to stop him. Young does and Khan walks out.

G1 Climax 2026 Block A Match - Hirooki Goto vs. Ryohei Oiwa

They shoulder battle and trade forearms. Goto side headlocks him. They shoulder battle. Oiwa back elbows him then Goto shoulders him over. Oiwa shoulders him over again. Oiwa side headlock takeovers him. Oiwa keeps the side headlock on. 

Oiwa shoulders Goto over. Oiwa sentons him and side headlocks him. Goto fights back and Oiwa backdrops him for 2. Goto ducks a spinning lariat. They lariat each other and Goto lariats him down. 

Goto spinning heel kicks him and Oiwa side headlocks him. Goto ushigoroshi's him. Goto chest kicks him down and GTW's him. Oiwa rolls him up. Goto headbutts him. Goto goes for another and is side headlocked. Oiwa headbutts him. Goto then taps out to a side headlock.

Thoughts: Nope. I don't buy the side headlock as a finisher. This is NJPW. Dragon suplexes off the top and some of the most dangerous holds known to man couldn't put people down yet somehow a side headlock can. It's bogus. It was sadly what is becoming the usual Oiwa match where Oiwa side headlocks his opponent, his opponent tries to spice it up and Oiwa slows it down. I didn't like this and the finish was stupid. 

G1 Climax 2026 Block A Match - Shingo Takagi vs. Konosuke Takeshita

They lock up and Shingo back hims up in the corner. Shingo knees him in the gut. KT running lariats him then Shingo running lariats him back. They trade forearms. KT hurricanrana's him. Shingo sends him out and throws him into the rails. They fight in the crowd.

They trade forearms in the crowd and KT goes down. KT is sent into the post. Shingo elbow drops him. Shingo sentons him. Shingo knees him in the gut. KT suplexes him. Shingo is thrown out and sent into the rails. KT facekicks him on the rails. KT ddt's him on the floor.

KT forearms him down in the corner. KT headbutts him down. KT then twists the neck. Shingo hits forearms and KT forearms him down. Shingo dragon screws KT. KT is swept on the 2nd rope. Shingo bridging ddt's him then suplexes him for 2. 

Shingo lariats him on the ropes and KT blue thunders him for 2. They trade forearms. KT exploders him then Shingo exploders him back. Both no sell it. KT germans him then takes a half-nelson suplex. They lariat battle then both lariat each other down. KT brainbusters him.

They fight on the apron. KT pumping knees him. Shingo traps his arms and ganso bombs him on the apron. Shingo hits a made in Japan inside and KT kicks out. Shingo hits lariats. KT pumping knees him and poisonrana's him. Shingo then poisonrana's him. Shingo sliding forearms him.

KT lariats him for 1. KT hits a made in Japan for 2. Shingo running lariats him for 2. KT pumping knees him for 2. Shingo falcon arrows him. They trade hearbutts on all 4's and forearm each other. 

They stand up and trade forearms. Shingo headbutts him and lariats him. Shingo running lariats him. Shingo wrist clutch burning hammers him for 2. Shingo hits a last of the dragon and wins.

Thoughts: I hated it. It was just them no selling big moves. While Goto was tapping out to a side headlock, a piledriver on the apron wasn't enough to put down ol' Takeshita here. This also was slower and went longer than it needed to.

G1 Climax 2026 Block A Match - Yota Tsuji vs. Oleg Boltin

They lock up. Yota armdrags him into a pin attempt then rolls him up for 2. Oleg shoulders him over. Yota goes out to regroup. Oleg hits chops on him. Oleg throws him on a slam then splashes him. Yota tries a curbstomp but Oleg blocks it. Yota dropkicks him in the knee. 

Yota drops him gut first on the ropes and dropkicks him in the gut. Yota double stomps Oleg's gut. Yota drops Oleg gut first on his knees for 2. Yota forearms him in the gut.

Yota corner splashes him. Yota is caught in mid-air and slammed down. Oleg corner splashes him then hits karelin's lift. Oleg vader bombs him for 2. 

Yota uranage backbreakers him. Yota boots him in the face. Yota giant swings him. Yota orange crushes him for 2. Oleg blocks a curbstomp and rams Yota into the corner. Yota reverse triangles him. Yota top rope double stomps him for 2. Yota chinlocks him.

Yota powerbombs Oleg. Oleg is pushed into the post from the apron. Yota spears him from the apron to the floor. Yota hits 2 sets of pumping knees and spinning muso's him for 2. Oleg powerbombs him. They trade forearms. Yota hits him in the gut and superkicks him. Oleg belly to belly suplexes him then holds on for another for 2.

Oleg germans him and kamikaze's him for 2. Yota crucifixes him then curbstomps him. Yota hits punching knees and headbutts him. Oleg dropkicks him. Oleg kips up and is speared for 2. Yota finlay rolls him for 2. 

Oleg lariats him down. Oleg F-5's him for 2. Oleg yanks him from the ropes and powerbombs him for 2. Yota hurricanrana's him for 2. Yota is hit with 2 powerbombs. Oleg 2nd rope finlay rolls him and pins him.

Thoughts: It got a lot of time and was a slower match. It wasn't that bad or anything but I just didn't enjoy it that much. I think it should have been faster at times and shorter. They didn't go too crazy here at least as Oleg doesn't do stupid stuff. I'd say it was acceptable.

Oleg then talks on the mic after.

Overall thoughts: I thought this was an awful show from NJPW. The undercard had a bunch of HoT nonsense. Oiwa tapped Goto out with a headlock while piledrivers on the apron weren't even enough to put Takeshita away. Khan/Jake Lee was absolute garbage. The main was acceptable, the opener was okay and I liked Hartley Jackson's tag match but it wasn't enough. I'd give this a 3 out of 10 overall as there was some real garbage on this show that brought this down for me. This wasn't good.
