Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling Mayhem 8/19/2026

Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling Mayhem 8/19/2026

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2026/08/maple-leaf-pro-wrestling-mayhem-8122026.html

We are in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Don Callis and Mauro Ranallo are our hosts.

Jay Lethal vs. Psycho Mike

Jay side headlocks him. Mike sends him into the ropes and Jay struts. Mike shoulders him over and stares into the camera. Jay pulls him down and hits shots on him. Mike is pulled out and Jay's head is banged off the apron. Mike lariats Jay over the top rope into the ring. Mike stares into the camera and Jay slides out.

They go out again and Mike is pushed into the post. We go to break and return. Jay misses a top rope elbow drop. Mike boots Jay out of the corner. Mike buckshots over Jay and crossbodies him. Mike springboard crossbodies him for 2.

Jay goes for a figure four and Mike does a bad roll up for 2. Jay superkicks him. Jay misses a handspring cutter. Mike looks into the camera and asks if we want to see a bodyslam. Mike slams Jay.  The Lethal Twist get on the apron and try to distract Mike. Mike wants to do another bodyslam and does.

The ref is tied up with The Twist and Jay double throat thrusts Mike. Zach Gowan and Billy Gunn come down to beat up The Twist. Billy is pushed into the ref and knocks him over. Mike hits another slam on Jay but the ref is down outside. Steve Maclin then runs in and hits Mike from behind. Steve hits mounted shots on Mike. Steve double underhook ddt's Mike. Jay then pins Mike.

Thoughts: There was a bad run-in segment here and brawl that came from that and that whole thing brought down the match. Steve Maclin then debuted and ran in. The match revolved around Mike's bodyslams as most of his matches do. I didn't think this was good.

Maclin says he has nobody controlling him and says he's a free man. He says it's mayhem for all here.

PCO does a video. He says they tried to erase him and said he was finished. He says every time they try to close the door on him, he comes back. He says monsters don't feel regret, they survive. PCO says the fear isn't dying, it's being forgotten. He says he will destroy what's left of him so the world never forgets his name.

Priscilla Kelly is coming in soon.

We get another video on Adam Copeland. He says he began wrestling at 17. He said there was nowhere to go and he had to figure it out on his own. He says having a platform to show your skills is a beautiful thing. He says MLP is that. He says a company with the proper foundation can do something in Canada. He says he wants to see MLP become must see TV like wrestling was for him and he wants to see people grow like he saw Bret Hart grow as a wrestler. He says the history of Canadian wrestling goes way back and it's special to be part of that. He says he can't wait to be in Maple Leaf Gardens. He says Toronto has kind of become his city and she's so proud when they go back there. He says he thought the door closed and getting to wrestle in Maple Leaf Gardens is special.

PCO vs. Kris Chambers

Kris is doing a weed smoking gimmick. Dr. Destro shocks PCO to wake him up while he's in a casket. Taylor Rising is with Kris.

Kris gets on his back and PCO throws him over. Kris gets on his back again and PCO rams him into the buckles. PCO lariats him down. PCO misses a splash and Kris pounds on him. Kris hits punches and PCO punches him back. PCO lariats him over the top and goes with him. PCO topes Kris and goes into the floor at an ugly angle.

PCO hits headbutts to the chest and hits corner splashes. PCO sentons him. Kris eye rakes him and PCO chokeslams him. PCO top rope moonsaults him and pins him.

Thoughts: It was a one-sided bout with Kris getting little of value in. What he did get in didn't look good. PCO did his usual spots here. PCO had some wild spots here as usual, but there's not a ton between the spots.

Taylor Rising tries to low blow PCO after. PCO no sells it. PCO goes after her and Kris hits PCO with the ring bell from behind. PCO shakes on the mat and sits up. Kris and Taylor then leave.

We get a video on Dani Luna's match. I will not be covering that match. Dani lost that match.

Steve Maclin talks in the back. He says why the hell not be here? He says he came here for Mayhem. He says it's mayhem for all at MLPW.

Stu Grayson does a promo. Stu says he can't remember the last time he felt so proud. He says all of this is because of MLP. He says he's the best wrestler in Canada and the world. He says as long as the titles are on his shoulders, he's the champ.

Josh Alexander then makes his return and comes out. Josh and Stu hold their belts up at each other and the show ends.

Overall thoughts: I saw 2 of the 3 matches here. Steve Maclin is now with MLP and we'll see what they come up with for him. Gigi Dolin/Priscilla Kelly is also on the way in. I didn't really like what I saw here. Lethal/Psycho Mike was filled with shenanigans and as usual with Mike's matches, it was based around body slam spots. PCO/Chambers was one sided and it wasn't but much PCO doing his big spots. As I've said, MLP is kind of like early AEW with worse talent and it hasn't really impressed me yet. I wouldn't recommend this one and would give it a 4 out of 10. This was below average.
