AEW Dynamite 7/22/2026

We are in Nasville, TN. Excalibur, Taz and Tony Schiavone are on commentary. 

Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay talk. Will says The Don Callis Family is in for a treat as they are facing a dream team. Will says him and Kenny are undefeated as a team. Will says Kenny got tired last time and tells him not to be a hero. Kenny says WIll ha a big match at the PPV too and should tag him in if he gets tired.

Jon Moxley walks in. He says there's no tension in this room. He then leaves. Kenny says there wasn't then he says he will leave Will and Mox.

AEW TNT Title - Kevin Knight (c) vs Darby Allin

KK is outside and DA topes him. DA pounds on him outside. Da hits forearms on him. DA then lariats him over the rails onto the floor. DA sends him into the rails. KK is laid on the rail near the timekeepers table. DA top rope dives him and they go over the timekeeper's table.

KK eye rakes him on the ramp and pushes him off the ramp, crotching him on the rail. KK springboards off the rails and back elbows him. KK bangs DA's head off the steps then catapults DA's face into the steps. KK hits mounted shots on him in the ring then stomps him. 

DA clubs him on the buckles and 2nd rope code red's him. DA code red's him again for 2. DA puts KK's arm into the post and elbows it. DA top rope coffin drops KK outside. We go to PiP break and return.

KK facekicks him and tilt-a-whirl backbreakers him for 2. KK sends DA into the ref. KK lariats DA. DA reverse ddt's KK. DA is crotched up top. KK hits him in the back with a title belt. DA is in tree of woe and KK coast to coast dropkicks him. KK top rope 180 splashes DA and pins him.

Thoughts: I didn't like this one. They blew threw a bunch of big spots quick early on and none of them really meant that much by the end. Kevin won as expected here as he's going into a PPV World Title match and he wasn't losing here. Darby looked like he hurt his ankle with the spot that went over the timekeeper's table.

Kyle Fletcher comes out before Kevin has left then Kazuchika Okada also comes out before Kevin leaves.

We go to break and return. Most of The Don Callis Family is in the ring. Mark Davis says he only has a match at Redemption if Darby can scrape himself off the pavement where he left him. Kevin Knight says he broke Darby and broke the record for the amount of TNT Title defenses, which he said Kyle once held. He says he it did without The Family. 

Kyle takes the mic and gets in Kevin's face. He says Kev thinks he's real impressive and will become Jet 2 Belts. He says he hopes he does. Kyle says he doesn't need the help of The Family to defend his title either. He says he will make sure everyone is banned from ringside on Sunday when he faces Bandido. He says everyone can be banned from ringside when he and Okada fight now. He tells Kevin and the others to get out of the ring right now.

The Don Callis Family (Kazuchika Okada and Kyle Fletcher) vs Brodido (Brody King and Bandido)

KF and Band lock up. KF backs him up on the ropes and points at him. Band then clean breajks him and points at him. They shoulder each other. Band flips out of a hiptoss, points at him and spinning armdrags him. Band dropkicks him. KF takes running corner lariats from the faces. KF takes a stun gun into a backdrop.

Band gets on BK's shoulders and is thrown down. BK sentons KF. KF is dropped chest first on the mat for 2. BK chops KF in the corner. KO facekicks Band. BK and KO trade forearms. BK takes running corner attacks and a double suplex. Band takes a double flapjack. We go to PiP break and return. 

Band hits forearms on KF and is slammed down fast. Band flips over KF's back and tags out. BK hits chops on KO and KF. BK lariats KO down. BK suplexes KF on the apron then running corner lariats KO. BK lariats KO for 2. KO hits an over the back neckbreaker on the knee on BK. 

KF running corner facekicks BK. BK black hole slams KF for 2. KF and Band trade forearms for chops. KF knees him in the chest. Band asai moonsaults and KF superkicks him down. Band sunset bombs KF off a sky high attempt.

KO half-nelson suplexes Band then Band pop up drops KF here for 2. BK corner cannonballs KF. Band top rope frogsplashes KF for 2. KO hits a nice dropkick on BK. KF superkicks BK. KO rainmakers KF on accident when BK moves. BK hits KO then topes him outside. Band hits a 21plex on KF and pins him.

Thoughts: Band pinning KF was an upset. It was an okay bout as they didn't go too long and they didn't get too crazy. KO's rainmaker on KF was pretty stiff and Okada hit a great dropkick here near the end.

Okada says he's sorry to KF but he does it in his usual not so serious way and he gives him a weird look after. KF asks if he's kidding and says it's Okada's fault. KF says he lost because of KO. 

The Don Callis Family tease going in after Band and King. Andrade El Idolo then comes out and the heels back off.

We get a Chris Jericho "Painmaker" video with him saying he has owned and became the pain. He says he's a wound that never heals and he's The Painmaker. 

Mick Foley comes out to talk to Thekla and Willow Nightingale. We go to break and return. Mick talks on the ramp and brings out Thekla. Thek introduces herself as Thekla 2 Belts. Thek says let's get this thing over with and Willow Nightingale is brought out. 

Willow says it's always great to see Mick and nice to see Thek face to face instead of with a cheapshot to the back. Willow says there's only one match between her and making her dream come true. Thek says Willow puts on a mask every time she comes. She says she will beat the poison out of her so everyone can see how ugly she really is. Willow says she never has to convince anyone who she is. She says we all know the toxic act is a facade. Willow says Thek talks big as she feels small. Willow says she only cares about Thek's AEW Women's Title and Thek is a shortcut to get to it. 

Mick compares himself with Willow. Thek tells Mick to shut up. Willow says Thek is the one acting like a dumb b!tch now. Willow says Mick is a legend and says they both stop at nothing to get what they want. Willow says she will do the same to her. Willow says they both have everything to lose at Redemption. Thek says when she stands over her at Redemption, she needs to smile anyway. Thek slaps her with a glove and Mick gets between them. Thek hides behind Willow and hits her with the mic. Thek grabs her belt to whip Willow and is pounced out of the ring. 

We get a video on Maya World vs Shida. Maya says it's her world now. Shida says she defended her title and Maya got in her business after. Maya says she will take her title and Shida says, "The Best is Shida".

Jay White vs Clark Connors

CC slides out to start and stalls. Jay backs up CC in the corner. CC double chops him from behind. Jay shoulders him over. Jay takes down CC by the arm. Jay kicks the ribs and pulls him down by the hair. Jay hits CC in the gut in the corner. CC pulls Jay's throat down over the top rope. CC spears Jay through the ropes on the apron.

We go to PiP break and return. CC pats Jay on the head and rakes his eyes. Jay hangs off the apron and CC running shoulders him in the head. Jay is sent into the rails. CC lights a match and sticks it in Jay's arm. Jay is sat in a chair outside, CC misses a spear and goes into the chair.  

Jay dragon screws him. Jay back body drops him. Jay ddt's him in the ring for 2. CC pounces Jay for 2. Jay sweeps him then punches him in the head. Jay uranage's him for 2. CC punches Jay in the corner. CC germans him. CC corner spears him and overhead throws him.

Jay high kicks CC down then sleepers suplexes him. CC rolls him up for 2 off a blade runner attempt. CC powerslams him for 2. Jay counters a spear with a guillotine. Jay then head and arm chokes him with a bridge on the mat and pins him.

Thoughts: It went long and was a little boring at times. They really needed to pick up the pace some here. They had some good ideas, just it took too long to get there.

CC goes after Jay after and takes a blade runner. David Finlay comes out and hits Jay with the shillelagh. The Bang Bang Gang then come out and back DF off.  

Adam Copeland and Christian Cage do a promo. They get jumped by Claudio and Pac of The Death Riders. Cage's head is banged off boxes and he is sent into some stuff. Pac curbstomps Cope onto a box. Pac says he can't believe they challenged them. He says it doesn't sound very wise. Pac says Cope has bitten off more than he can chew and they will remind them of who they are.

AEW Women's Tag Titles - No DQ Match - Divine Dominion (Megan Bayne and Lena Kross) (c) vs The Triangle of Madness (Julia Hart and Sky Blue)

The big girls pose on the apron and SB/Hart choke them with kendo sticks. Hart and SB hit kendo stick shots. Lena and Meg are pulled over the top. Hart cannonballs Meg off the apron. Meg and Lena take superkicks inside. Hart does the tarantula to Lena. SB hits both opponents with the kendo stick. Meg takes a codebreaker to the chest and Hart nails SB on accident with a weapon.

Meg is sent out. Hart walks the top rope and Lena catches her diving headscissors. Hart is dropped face first onto a chair on the top rope. SB is busted open and Meg backdrops her. SB has a chair against her face and Meg throws another chair at her. 

We go to PiP break and return. They fight on the stage. Meg is standing on 2 chairs and is powerbombed through a table. Lena takes shots from both opponents and then takes superkicks. Lena boots SB in the corner and back elbows Hart. Lena pump kicks Hart and Meg germans Hart. 

Lena and SB trade forearms. SB superkicks her and Meg claymore kicks SB. Lena superkicks Hart down. All 4 girls grab title belts and try to use them. Lena and Meg take ddt's on Stardom belts for 2 counts. Meg suplexes Hart on the floor. Lena's head is superkicked into the top buckle. SB is on the 2nd rope and Meg chokeslams her down through a table outside. Hart octopuses Meg. 

Meg spinning tombstones Hart. Hart takes a double chokeslam. Meg pins Hart.

Thoughts: This match really showed off how limited Hart and Skye are. They did more superkicks than The Bucks do and it got old quick. They didn't do anything too wild here but Hart and SB got busted open. I thought it was just average as it went on a little too long and didn't impress. Thankfully, it was a safe match.

The Bang Bang Gang do a promo. Juice asks where The Dogs were running. Juice says they should chain the dogs up at Redemption and do a double chain match. Jay says they will give The Dogs the beating their fathers should have given them.

Kenny Omega and The Death Riders (Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay) vs The Don Callis Family (Hechicero, Jake Doyle and Brian Cage)

Will wristlocks Hech and they trade some holds. Hech headscissors takedowns him from the mat and they stand off. Hech side headlocks him. Hech trips him on the leapfrog and Will flying headscissors him. The faces work on Hech's arm and take turns doing it.

Hech eye rakes and trips Mox. Jake stomps Mox in the corner. Mox low topes Jake into the commentary table. Cage chinlocks Mox in the corner. Jake corner splashes Mox. Will hits Kawada kicks on Jake and step up enzugiri's him. Cage shoulders Will over. Will stunners him out of a suplex attempt. Jake bodyblocks KO and Will. Cage suplexes KO and Will together. We go to PiP break and return.

Cage chops Will. Will handspring corkscrew kicks him. Will goes for a tag and both Mox and KO want it. Will chooses KO. KO finlay rolls Cage and 2nd rope moonsaults him for 2. Cage F-5's KO. Hech step up knees KO in the corner. Hech ties KO's legs up in a reverse figure four. KO goes for a tag and Hech armbars KO. Mox stomps Hech.

4 of the wrestlers trade shots. Jake is lariated over the top and KO presses Cage into the mat. Hech takes shots and a springboard flying forearm from Will. Hech takes running corner attacks. KO interrupts and gets some in too. Mox cutters Hech. 

Will slingshot plancha's Jake. KO germans Cage and dragon suplexes him. KO flying pumping knees Mox on accident. Hech headscissors drops KO for 2. Cage hits a GTH on KO. KO is yanked into a Jake forearm for 2. Cage stomps Will.

Mox and KO hit stereo hurricanrana's, a hidden blade and a pumping knee. Will superkicks Hech then Hech takes a pumping knee + hidden blade combo. KO pins Hech.

Thoughts: They messed up the spot near the end with the hurricanrana's but it wasn't too bad. It was a fun little main with some unusual partners here. They did an okay job putting over the issues the faces had with each other and it was an okay main here. I liked this. 

KO offers Mox a handshake after but Mox won't. They push each other and butt heads. Will gets between them and KO shoves Will down. Will shoves KO. The Bucks come out and Mox shoves one of them down. Will and The Bucks fight. Jake Doyle gets involved. More of the Don Callis Family come out in Trent and Rocky. KK flies in and hits KO with a title in the face. KK stands on KK and grabs his hair then KO bleeds. KK poses with KO.

Overall thoughts: It was a rather wrestling heavy show. I didn't like Knight/Darby. Okada's tag vs Brody and Bandido was okay. Jay/Clark went long and bored me. The Women's Tag Title match was average. The main was an okay bout. I'd give it a higher 5 out of 10 but it was a slower show and not super exciting. They did put a nice lineup out for this though. The show was just acceptable overall. I do think they could have done a better job to sell us on this week's PPV here.
