Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling Mayhem 7/29/2026
Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2026/07/maple-leaf-pro-wrestling-mayhem-7222026.html
We are in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Don Callis and Mauro Ranallo are our hosts.
We get a video on Psycho Mike and we see him head into the building. He runs into Jay Lethal.
Billy Gunn, Psycho Mike & Zach Gowen vs. The Lethal Twist (Blake Christian, Jay Lethal & Lee Johnson)
Michael Allen Richard Clark is on commentary for this.
Jay nearly runs into Mike and falls down in fear. Lee comes in and Mike side headlocks him. Mike shoulders him over. Mike makes faces and the crowd chants for a "bodyslam". Mike then asks who wants to see a bodyslam? Lee goes out.
Zach slingshot swantons Jay. Zach chops him and boots him out of the corner. Blake sliding lariats Zach. Jay stomps Zach for 2. Lee stomps Zach and hits mounted punches on him. Blake hits mounted shots on Zach then chinlocks him. Blake lariats Zach and hits mounted shots. Jay chokes Zach.
Blake stomps on Zach. Blake tries to figure four Zach, but he doesn't have a second leg to do it with. Blake hops on one foot to taunt him and Zach boots him out of the ring. Billy comes in and drops the heels with punches. Billy is superkicked by Blake and Billy fameassers him for 2.
Jay step up enzugiri's Billy. Mike running lariats Jay. Billy hits a cobra clutch slam on Blake. Zach misses a top rope moonsault on Blake. Blake springboard 450's Zach for 2. Mike tags in. Mike eventually slams Blake and Jay rolls up Mike with the tights in hand and pins him.
Thoughts: They hyped up Mike some here then of course he took the fall. I don't really like them using Zach as he's a hard guy to buy due to his limitations. They kind of lost some of the flow when Blake was trying to figure four Zach...and naturally couldn't because he only has one leg. I think this one was just too silly for me and I don't think this should be the look MLP is going for.
Mo Jabari talks about growing up a refugee camp. Bret Hart quickly appears but say 4 words. Mo talks about Canada being welcoming to him. He says he's Canadian. Bret says Mo has a great story and legacy.
Subculture (Flash Morgan Webster & Mark Andrews) vs Fight Or Flight (Gabriel Fuerza & Vaughn Vertigo)
Dani Luna is with Subculture. No entrance for Fight or Flight here.
Gabe wristlocks Flash. Flash uses the ropes to flip out of it and is put in a headscissors. They shake hands then Gabe stomps the hand. Gabe takes a double hiptoss and a standing moonsault for 1. Gabe chops Mark and boots VV out of the corner. VV takes a side slam + legdrop combo for 2.
Flash takes a boot to the back from the apron then he is dropped into the ropes for a half-nelon suplex. Gabe jumps over the top in and cutters Flash. Gabe backdrops Flash for 1. VV PK's Flash for 2. Flash chops VV.
Flash flips out of the corner and tags out. Mark hits shots on both opponents. Mark double pele kicks his opponents. Marj rolls VV and tornado ddt's Gabe off of it. VV takes a double headbutt to the chest. Mark and Flash hit stereo tope con hilos outside.
M does something like a diamond dust to VV. Flash swantons VV's back off the buckles and pins him.
Thoughts: It was a very fast paced match here and almost hard to follow. Gabe didn't get a lot in but moved well. This was fine for what it was.
PCO does a video. He says some men fear pain and failure but he just fears feeling forgotten. He says he gave this business everything and every time, they bury him. He says he dug his way out. He says it's not normal, but obsession to keep a man alive when he should have disappeared. He says he will destroy what's left of him so the world never forgets his name.
Taylor Rising vs Alexia Nicole
Kris Chambers is with Taylor Rising. The women's champ is on commentary for this.
Tay waistlock takedowns her. AN dropkicks her in the corner. AN's head is banged off the buckles. AN boots her out of the corner and is forearmed. Tay backsplashes her and is rolled up for 2. AN spinning high kicks her and codebreakers her.
Tay sends her into the 2nd rope and 619's her there. Tay pedigree's her and pins her.
Thoughts: It was just a short squash here and Taylor won as expected. Alexia needs to connect more on her shots.
Alexia Nicole slaps the women's champ in the back after the break.
PWA Champion's Grail Title Match - Rohan Raja (c) vs. Evil Uno
Aurora Teves is with Raja.
RR piefaces Uno before the match. Uno facekicks him down to starts then chops him in the corner. Uno boots him and chops him again. Uno back body drops him. Uno hits a corner lariat and misses a top rope move.
RR spears Uno in the knee then stomps the knee. Uno stops him and punches him. Uno lariats him over the top. Uno goes for a dive and gets distracted by Aurora. Uno is pushed into the steps.
We go to break and return. Uno lariats RR down and double chops him. Uno hits punches. RR puts the ref in the way. Uno makes the ref hold RR's leg then Uno neckbreakers RR. RR clips him and backcrackers him for 2.
They trade forearms. Uno hits a forearm combo. RR jumping forearms him. Uno slaps him then hits oblivion. RR slides out. RR tries to hit Uno with his title and misses the shot. The ref takes the title. Uno facekicks and ddt's RR for 2.
Uno piledrivers RR for 2. RR black hole slams Uno for 2. RR sky high's him for 2. RR half crabs him. Aurora hits Uno with the title belt from the outside. RR STF's Uno and rolls him onto his back with it. Uno is out and RR wins.
Thoughts: It was fine. Uno had decent looking offense and RR picked up the win in the end. There was some shenanigans but it wasn't over the top. I can't say Raja really impressed or anything but he did nothing wrong.
RR hits punches on Uno after and tries to rip his mask off. Stu Grayson comes out to save Uno since he's his former partner. Stu spears Raja, hits shots and Raja slides out.
Stu gets on the mic after. He says he knows what Raja did what he did. He says he knows Raja is dreaming of being the next MLP champ. He says he will give him a title shot if he wants one but Raja's title will be on the line too in that match. Stu says it's winner takes all.
Adam Copeland does a video. He says he knows what this place is. He says some people chase moments and he create them. He asks if MLP is ready for one more unforgettable night.
Overall thoughts: It was average overall. The matches had no big stories going into them. I didn't like them starting things off with Zach Gowen as this company needs credibility and he's not it. Subculture's match was fine. Taylor Rising won a squash. The match was also fine here but nothing too memorable. The big news is that Adam Copeland is coming to MLP, but with him being an AEW roster and AEW working with MLP, that's not too unbelievable. I'm still not too high on this promotion and just think they need to do a lot more to give meaning behind matches and introduce the roster. I'd give it a 5 out of 10. The main was the best thing on here.
