AEW Collision 7/18/2026
Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2026/07/aew-collision-7112026.html
We are in Boston, MA. Tony Schiavone and Paul Wight are on commentary.
Jack Perry vs. Nick Wayne
They lock up and Nick is backed into the corner. Jack rubs his head there. Jack hammerlocks him then takes him down by the arm. Jack side headlocks him then shoulders him over. Nick jumps up and Jack dropkicks him. Jack dropkicks him through the ropes. Jack chops him against the rails. Nick ddt's Jack on the steps. We go to PiP break and return.
Jack bangs Nick's head off the buckles and pushes his head into the buckles with his boot. Nick is seated on the 2nd rope and Jack 2nd rope legdrops him. Jack powerbombs him on the apron. Nick full nelson suplexes him. Jack poisonrana's him. Jack rebound lariats him.
Nick facekicks him off the apron. Nick topes into a diving canadian destroyer on him on the floor. Nick springboard splashes Jack's back and fisherman busters him in the ring for 2. Nick comes off the 2nd rope and Jack germans him. Jack superkicks him and flying knees him. Jack pins him.
Thoughts: I hated it. They did an apron powerbomb and a canadian destroyer on the floor. Both men were still able to get up and fight when they should have been done. This was awful indy crap and it was just the opener!
The Young Bucks do a video. They say all is right in wrestling again. They say they are on the hunt to get their tag titles back. They say The Elite will be back on top again. The Bucks say this thing with Will Ospreay feels like a set up with The Death Riders. They say they know how Moxley thinks. They say they don't trust Mox or Ospreay. They say Mox hasn't changed and Kenny Omega need to be shown that he can't trust Ospreay since he's a Death Rider. They challenge Mox and Ospreay to a tag match at Redemption.
Adam Copeland and Christian Cage do a video on The Death Riders. Cope says Claudio keeps sticking their nose in their business. Cage says he knows Pac will get involved soon too. Cage challenges them to a tag title match at Redemption.
AEW TNT Title Match - Kevin Knight (c) vs. AR Fox
Tony says Kevin Knight wanted this match.
KK hits AR on the buckles and hits mounted shots on him. KK stomps him. KK is thrown out. AR is sent into the rails. KK poses on the commentary table. AR boots him out of the corner and headscissors him down. AR rolls into a neckbreaker on him.
AR chops him and forearms him. AR back elbows him on the apron and hits superkicks there. AR is pulled down from the apron. AR 619's him under the bottom rope and misses a moonsault. KK jumps off the commentary table and lariats AR.
We go to PiP break, full break and return. AR armdrags him and back elbows him. AR rolls him and mule kicks him. AR walks him into a cutter. AR top rope swantons KK for 2. AR is pulled to the ramp. KK goes to springboard and is cuttered over the top rope. KK sits on the 2nd rope and AR jumps over the top inside and canadian destroyers him.
AR 450's him for 2. KK sits up top. AR takes a 2nd rope uranage. KK hits his top rope 180 splash and wins it.
Thoughts: We are 2 matches in and 2 canadian destroyer have been used already. It was all flying as expected. AR did a million flips and rolls here and KK won as expected. It wasn't that good and was rather indy.
KK goes to the commentary table after. He says that was a preview of what will happen vs Darby on Wednesday. He says it's an appetizer for when he becomes Jet 2 Belts. He says his partners will make quick work of their opponents.
Don Callis Family (Brian Cage, Hechicero & Jake Doyle) vs Gino Medina, Nic Nolan & Tome Filip
Jake bodyblocks Tome then fallaway slams him. Gino comes in and Hech step up knees him. Hech hiptosses him then cranks his arm and neck. Cage does a weird reverse ddt twist into a cutter on Nic. Jake apron powerbombs Tome. Cage hits GTH/Z360 on Nic and pins him.
Thoughts: It was all squash and the squashers looked fine here. Their jobbers have all been around a bit as Nic did IWA-PR, Tome has done NJPW and Gino has done ROW/MLW.
The jobbers get beaten up after and Rocky Romero and Trent Baretta join in. Mike Bailey, The Conglomeration, Komander and The Rascalz run out and the heels run off. The Lethal Twist are then shown in the stands.
Will Ospreay and Jon Moxley do a promo. WIll says he feels cold prior to Wembley. He says he asked Tony Khan for a sparring partner. He says he used to battle with Adam Brooks 8 years ago and says he's an old friend. He says Adam used to live at his house with his mom. He says Adam has done well and so has he. Will tells him not to take it personal.
Mox says The Bucks and The Death Rider territories share borders and sometimes they are allies or enemies. Mox says he has disdain for all things. Mox says it will be a little bit personal at Redemption.
The Dogs do a promo. They say The Bang Bang Gang isn't what they pretend to be. They say Juice is an unhinged maniac and says The Gunns have a history of misogyny. DF says Jay White's dad is a nobody. They say to join them in their campaign to say, "Guns Down".
Will Ospreay vs Adam Brooks
This is random. I thought Adam might have been signed by TNA as they had used him a little but I guess not. This is Adam Brooks' 2nd AEW match as he was on the unaired Australian house show.
They shake hands and hug. Adam pump kicks him from the side then hits chops and punches. Adam rakes his eyes on the top rope. Will chops Adam. Adam knees him in the gut and Will flying headscissors him. Will slingshot plancha's him outside.
Will chops him outside and backdrops him on the rail top. Will springboard forearms him inside for 1. Will flips out of a back drop and kicks him in the gut. Will blind springboards and Adam throws him down. Adam hits knees and mounted shots on the mat.
Adam back elbows him. Adam rebounds the ropes into Will's crotch. Adam boots him off the apron. Adam low topes him.
Adam hits a pump kick in the corner and hits oblivion on him for 2. Will handspring corkscrew kicks him from the ropes. Will jawbreakers him. Will standing corkscrew moonsaults him for 2. Will hits Kawada kicks. Adam puts the ref in the way and step up enzugiri's Will. Adam belly to belly overhead suplexes Will into the buckles.
Adam corner dropkicks Will for 2. Adam tells him to stay down. Will forearms him. They trade shots. Will spinning forearms him and hook kicks him. Adam backcrackers Will. Will standing spanish flies him for 2. Adam spits at Will's gut. Will drops him with a forearm and hits downward forearms onto the back of Adam's neck. Will submits him/the ref stops it.
Thoughts: It was fine but nothing too special. Adam is just not a super exciting worker and you are only going to get so much out of his matches. He's not bad, just very average.
We get a Darby Allin video. He spray paints a car. He says the first time he met Kevin Knight, he told him he has potential and needs to stay humble. Kevin told him he wouldn't change and will always be humble. He says he knows that guy is gone when Kevin put him in the hospital. We then see Darby use a flamethrower on a car. He says let's see how Kevin will go on Dynamite.
Athena vs. Ava Everett
Ath germans her three times to start. Ath pump kicks her out of the ring. Ath PK's her. Ava forearms her. Ath swings Ava into the rails. Ava stunners her then Ath pump kicks her. Ath deadlift powerbombs her twice. Ath running forearms her. Ath then submits her with a koji clutch.
Thoughts: It was all squash as expected here and not much more.
Ath is on the ramp and The Brawling Birds come out before she leaves. Ath stares at them and mocks her. Alex gives her the finger.
The Brawling Birds (Alex Windsor & Jamie Hayter) vs Kayla Lopez & Tiara James
The jobbers get hit to start then they get thrown out. The jobbers are sent into the rails. The jobbers are sent into each other. Alex hits hits Tiara in the gut. Tiara double chops her. Alex backslides her and rams her with a headbutt.
Jamie chops Tiara down. The jobbers are pushed into each other. Alex lariats Tiara. Tiara takes a headbutt and pump kick then a sandwich lariat. Tiara is held in the air and takes a hart attack. Jamie pins Tiara.
Thoughts: It was another squash here with the jobbers getting nothing in before going down. It went longer than expected.
The Bang Bang Gang talk in an apartment. They mock The Dogs and make jokes. Jay says Finlay doesn't want any of him and challenges Clark Connors on Dynamite.
Tommaso Ciampa vs. Myron Reed
Reed backs him up in the corner and backs off. TC chops him and Reed hits chops and forearms. TC eye pokes him and stomps him in the corner. Reed springboard dropkicks TC. Reed is pumping knee'd on the apron. Reed superkicks him.
Reed flips out of a german. Reed slingshot backdrops him. Reed facekicks TC on the apron. Reed jumping kicks TC then TC ddt's him on the apron over the 2nd rope. We go to PiP break and return.
TC drops him with a knee. Reed enzugiri's TC. Reed suicide dives TC. Reed springboard diving euros him for 2. TC 2nd rope air raid crashes him for 2.
TC chops Reed down. Reed cutters him. Reed jumps over the top and diving cutters him on the stage. Reed runs the stage then diving cutters him in the ring for 2. TC chops him and kicks him. Reed stunners him. Reed slingshots in and is knee'd in the face. TC powerbomb backbreakers Reed. TC pumping knees him and pins him.
Thoughts: It was an alright match. Reed did a lot of flying and hit his signature spots as usual and Ciampa pounded him down. They didn't overdo it too much and it made enough sense. Ciampa win as expected.
Ciampa goes up to the commentators after. Paul Wight says we aren't going to do that when Ciampa stares at Tony. Ciampa stands on a chair and says he knows Paul is best friends with Chris Jericho. He tells him to send a message to Chris. He says he's better than Chris and he's not afraid of him. Ciampa says Chris can have a fight if he wants it but it'll be no holds barred.
Andrade El Idolo is interviewed. Idolo tells Renee to look at his new piece of jewelry. He says he needs to add the National Title to it. Mark Davis comes in, nails Idolo and puts him in a choke.
Mercedes Mone is interviewed in the ring by Renee. Renee asks who will win the AEW Women's Title match coming up. Mone says they don't celebrate second place, they collect titles. Mone says the AEW Women's Title is coming home to her at All In. Mone says she doesn't care who wins in Thekla vs Willow as the title will be hers. She says Thekla and Willow both ran to Japan after she hit them. She says neither can hide when the bell rings. She says it doesn't matter who walks in to All In with the title but who walks out and says it's her.
We then see the same Copeland and Cage promo we saw earlier without the video clips. The Young Bucks walk in. They say they haven't seen them in a long time and say the titles look great on them, but looked great on them too 3 different times. Cage says maybe they lost them 3 times as they are just things to them. Cage says they are championships to them. Cage walks away and Cope fist pounds them.
ROH World Title Match - Bandido (c) vs. Adam Priest
I have no idea how AP earned this shot.
They shake hands. AP side headlocks him and shoulderblocks him. Band germans him twice. AP does his finger gun pose at him. AP shin kicks him and dropkicks him. AP chops him. Band pump kicks him and superkicks him. Band is thrown shoulder first into the buckles then thrown shoulder first into the post. AP flying knees him off the apron. We go to PiP break and return.
They trade chops. Band germans him twice then one-armed gorilla press slams him. Band one-armed germans him. AP hits a big lariat. Band alley oops him. AP blocks a 21plex. Band armdrags him and spinebusters him. Band moonsaults into a german on AP and pins him.
Thoughts: What we got was alright but it only got so much time and they only got to do so much. Both guys did fine here and Band won as expected.
Julia Hart and Skye Blue do a promo. They say they are 2/3rd's of the Stardom Trios champs (they won them today) and are thirsty for more. They say Bayne and Kross are big and strong and shouldn't be afraid of weapons. They challenge them to a Women's Tag Title Hardcore match.
AEW TBS Title Match - Hikaru Shida (c) vs. Queen Aminata
They trade forearms and hockey fight. They hit more forearms. Shida eye pokes her and cradles her for 2. Queen kicks her in the back then bangs Shida's head off her butt. Queen PK's Shida. Shida is put in a chair and Queen dropkicks her from the apron.
Shida is on the ramp and Queen misses a top rope double stomp there. Shida slaps her. Shida's head is banged off the buckles. Queen headbutts her. Queen tries it again and headbutts the buckle. Shida b-drivers her on the ramp. We go to PiP break and return.
Queen crabs her. Queen forearms her and kicks her in the chest. Queen knees her in the face. Queen hits a nasty twisting fisherman's neckbreaker. Queen 2nd rope double stomps her for 2. Shida slides out.
Shida hits her in the gut and grabs her kendo stick. The ref takes it from Shida. Shida eye pokes Queen and sends her into the rails. Shida top rope diving meteora's Queen. Shida falcon arrows her for 2. Shida bangs Queen's knee off the mat. Queen cradles her for 2.
They trade pin attempts. Shida dragon screws Queen and Queen headbutts her. Queen running knees her on the ropes. Shida grabs her ankle and cradles her while using the ropes. Shida then pins her.
Thoughts: I liked it. It was a hard hitting match with them stiffing each other. Queen headbutting the buckle was a new spot. I liked that they included the ankle work into the finish too. I thought it was good.
Shida hits Queen after then beats her with the kendo stick. Maya World comes down. She superkicks and forearms Shida. Shida runs out.
Overall thoughts: I didn't like the first two matches at all. We had a lot of filler here with 3 different squashes. Will/Brooks was fine. I was also fine with Reed/Ciampa. Bandido/Priest was okay but needed more time. I thought the main was the best match on the show and I thought it was a good match. It was the usual Collision with mostly random matches, a lack of stars and more wrestling over non-wrestling stuff, but at least they did some building here to future things and there was a lot of news about future matchups here. I'd give it a 5 out of 10 as it had a mix of good, bad and just stuff that was there. It was average overall.
