New Japan Pro Wrestling 7/26/2026 G1 Climax 36 Day 7

Masatora Yasuda & Oleg Boltin vs. United Empire (Jake Lee & Zane Jay)

Jake side headlocks Oleg. They shoulder battle. Zane comes in. He eye rakes Oleg. Oleg belly to belly suplexes him. Masa comes in and flying headscissors Zane. He then dropkicks Zane. Masa suplexes Zane three times for 2. Zane thesz presses him and hits mounted punches. Masa takes a double back elbow.

Oleg comes in and hits both opponents. Oleg shoulders over Zane and karelin's lifts Jake. Zane takes a double hiptoss. Oleg is pulled over the top then sent into the rails. Zane neckbreakers Masa. Jake backdrops Masa and submits him quick with a guillotine choke.

Thoughts: It was short and not much of note here. Oleg did his usual offense, Jake didn't screw around and the other two didn't get to do too much here. It didn't get enough time to accomplish anything.

House Of Torture (SANADA & Yoshinobu Kanemaru) vs. TMDK (Hartley Jackson & Ryohei Oiwa)

Oiwa wristlocks and side headlocks San. Oiwa shoulders him over. San flips out of a hiptoss and Oiwa does an octopus on him. YK breaks it up. Oiwa and San trade hammerlocks. YK pulls Oiwa out and sends him into the rails. YK ddt's Oiwa on the floor. 

YK snapmares and stomps Oiwa. He then elbows him in the face and stomps him. Oiwa hits forearms on San and San dropkicks him in the knee. Oiwa dropkicks him in the knee and ddt's him. Hart corner splashes San and lariats him. Hart slams San and misses a senton. Hart gets his legs split. YK dropkicks Hart in the knee and toe hold's him. Hart boots him way.

YK tries a sunset flip but Hart sentons him off of it. Oiwa hiptosses San over the top. Hart lariats YK over and death valley drivers him. Hart then pins him.

Thoughts: It was another short waste of time. I have no idea why they even bothered as little happened. We didn't get much here at all.

Konosuke Takeshita & Toru Yano vs. United Empire (Great-O-Khan & Jakob Austin Young)

Khan double chops KT from behind then sends him into the rails outside. Khan hits him in the gut and back with a chair. Jake hits facewash kicks on KT then he spits on him. KT grabs him by the hair and Khan hits KT from behind. KT is held for a basement dropkick and the ref refuses to count Khan's pin attempt.

KT flying lariats Khan. KT hits punches then Khan kicks him from behind off a distraction. KT is held for shots. All 4 men fight. KT sends his opponents into each other and Jake enzugiri's KT. Jake goes into the exposed buckle and KT blue thunders Jake for the win.

Thoughts: This was over before it even really got started. I'm not even sure if we saw Yano do a move here.

Khan comes in and chairs both opponents after. KT goes for a forearm on Khan and Khan slides out. 

Unbound Co. (Shingo Takagi & Taiji Ishimori) vs. Goto Revolutionary Army (Hirooki Goto & Tatsuya Matsumoto)

Shingo and Goto lock up and go to the ropes. Shingo back elbows him and knees him in the gut. Goto shoulders him over. Goto elbows Shingo in the neck. Shingo dragon screws Tat. TI does a figure four variation to Tat and Tat ropebreaks. 

Tat takes a double back elbow and a basement dropkick. Shingo suplexes Tat. Tat hits chops on Shingo then running forearms him. Shingo headbutts Tat then Tat flying euros him. Goto spinning heel kicks Shingo then backdrops him for 2. Shingo hits a twist and shout on Goto. 

Goto and Shingo trade forearms. Goto hits a reverse GTR and they lariat each other at the same time. Shingo ddt's Goto. Goto running lariats TI. Tat running euros TI in the corner. Tat dropkicks TI for 2. 

Tat forearms TI down. TI flying knees him. TI la mistica's Tat into a border city stretch and submits him.

Thoughts: There was little to this one and it was over before it really got started. I'm sure Shingo and Goto will be fine though. I want to say TI tapped out Tat with the border city stretch once this tournament already. 

Unbound Co. (Gedo & Yuto-Ice) vs. Unbound Co. (Daiki Nagai & Yota Tsuji)

Yota and Ice go at it. They duck each other's kicks. Nagai gets in. He and Ice forearm each other then Nagai dropkicks him. Nagai corner dropkicks him for 2. Yuto high kicks Nagai down. Gedo comes in and kicks Nagai in the ribs. Gedo hits Nagai in the gut. 

Ice comes in and kicks Nagai. Ice then stands on his neck. Nagai dropkicks him. Yota comes in and hits forearms on Ice. Yota corner enzugiri's him then hits a forearm flurry in the corner. Yota hits more forearms and superkicks him. Ice hits a chest kick flurry. 

Ice running knees Yota in the corner for 2. Yota pumping knees him and Ice PK's him. Gedo comes in and hits punches on Yota. Yota hits him in the gut. Ice slaps Yota then Yota chops him. Nagai springboard dropkicks Ice. Yota slaps Gedo and Gedo is down. Yota then pins him.

Thoughts: Nagai looked good as usual but this didn't get much time and wasn't much of note otherwise. The finish was weak with Gedo going down to a single shot. 

Yota and Ice compete for cheers after. 

G1 Climax 2026 Block B Match - OSKAR vs. Aaron Wolf

They lock up. Wolf throws him down off the break. Wolf hits chops. Wolf corner lariats Os. Os knees him in the gut and slams him. Os stomps him and chops him. Os elbow drops his back for 2. Os stomps Wolf and camel clutches him. Os kicks him while he's down. Wolf forearms him.

Wolf uranage's him. Wolf shoulders Os over then elbow drops him for 2. Wolf is thrown hard into the buckles and Os legdrops him off of it for 2. Os chokes him. Os sleepers him. Wolf hits 3 lariats and drops him. Wolf does a cradle shock for 2. Wolf triangles him and Os ropebreaks.

Wolf hits forearms on Os. Os sleepers him and is thrown over. Wolf powerslams him for 2. Os eye rakes Wolf then facekicks him down. Os running tombstones him. Os does a grounded sleeper and Wolf is out.

Thoughts: I liked this. Wolf was really good here. He showed a lot of fire and hit some explosive offense. He was a strong underdog face and Os was happy to boot him down. If Wolf could just get in shape, he'd be worth so much more. This was an okay bout here.

Os puts the NEVER Openweight Title on Wolf after. 

G1 Climax 2026 Block B Match - HENARE vs. Ren Narita

Hen goes after Ren to start. The ref sees Togo hit Hen from behind and does nothing. Hen hits forearms and on Ren and the bell rings. Hen shoulders him over after taking a facekick. Hen headbutts and chops Ren. Hen misses a flying knee and Ren dropkicks him in the knee. Hen is sent into the rails and post. 

Hen's knee is banged off the floor. Ren stomps Hen's leg in the ring. Ren flying neckbreakers Hen for 2. Ren leglocks Hen. Ren wraps Hen's leg around the post then Togo chairs Hen's leg. 

Hen chops Ren and then shoulders him over. Hen chops Ren in the corner. Hen pop up samoan drops him for 2. Hen lariats Ren down. Ren kicks him in the knee then leglocks him. The ref nearly hits Ren when hetries to break a hold up. Ren grabs the ref and Togo chairs Hen. Ren then chairs Hen in the head and Hen no sells it. 

Hen pushes Ren into the ref then hits a strike flurry on him in the corner. Hen headbutts him. Togo chokes Hen with a weapon. Hen sends the heels into each other and double lariats them. Hen running lariats Ren for 2. Hen full nelson's Ren. Ren kicks Hen in the knee then russian legsweeps him into a leglock. 

Ren exploders Hen for 2. Ren misses a flying knee off the top and Hen uranage's him for 2. Ren goes for a facebuster and is powerbombed. Hen sitout powerbombs him and pins him.

Thoughts: It wasn't that bad. I would have liked for the heels to be a little less obvious about the cheating but they had the right idea otherwise. Ren worked the knee some using cheap tactics and Hen used his power, throwing Ren around as he should have. 

G1 Climax 2026 Block B Match - Drilla Moloney vs. Callum Newman

CN sweeps him and is chopped down. DM dropkicks him through the ropes. They go into the crowd and fight. DM's head is banged off a chair. DM eye rakes him. DM hits him in the stands and headbutts him there. DM lariats CN against a wall. CN knees him in the gut.

DM is put in a seat. CM runs at him and is thrown into the 3rd row. DM chops him over the rail into ringside. CN high kicks him there. CN then jumps over the rail and dropkicks him in the seats. 

CN foot chokes DM in the ring. CN chinlocks him. DM takes a PK. CN double stomps DM's arm. DM chops him then dropkicks him. CN poisonrana's him. CN goes to the 2nd rope and DM backdrops him down. DM jumping side kicks him.

DM is up top and is enzugiri'd. DM trips him from the top rope then top rope elbow drops him. The wrestlers run into the ref and knock him down. CN goes for a hurricanrana and is powerbombed down. DM goes for the drilla killa and Zane Jay stops him. Daiki Nagai springboard diving headscissors Zane. Nagai then spinning ddt's CN. DM golden ratio kicks CN for 2 when the ref is pulled out. Nagai then topes Zane.

DM spears CN in the ring for 2. CN low blows DM and single underhook suplexes him for 2. CN knees him in the face for 1. CN lariats DM down for 2. DM flips out of a lariat and drilla killa's him for the pin.

Thoughts: I didn't like the interference here. Newman should have been DQ'd when the ref got pulled out. I mean what possible explanation could there be for that other than someone cheating for him? It's a shame as the work was fine otherwise and they kept it exciting. I'd still say this was alright though.
 
G1 Climax 2026 Block B Match - Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Gabe Kidd 

Gabe walks out through the crowd. 

Gabe backs Zack up on the ropes then Zack does the same to him. They slap each other. Gabe shoulders him over and Zack euros him. Gabe chops him down and they trade shots. Zack hits euros and is chopped down. 

Zack is sent into the buckles then foot choked. Gabe chops him in the corner and drops him with a forearm. Gabe drops him with a euro. Gabe chest headbutts him and hits more chops. Gabe hits a straight punch that sends him down. Zack fights back with euros. Gabe hits more shots and drops him with a forearm. 

Gabe double chops his back. Zack triangles him over the top rope. Gabe forearms him off the apron and Zack lands on the floor. They go into the crowd. Gabe puts Zack in a seat and chops him. Zack is then sent into the post. Gabe chops him against the apron. Zack takes a euro and hits some euros in return. Gabe bites him. Gabe boots him in the ring and cravates him. 

Gabe chops him and rakes his eyes with his boot laces. Zack euros him. Zack takes him down by the leg and stomps his arm. Zack rams Gabe's knees into the mat. Zack twists his neck with his feet. Zack pulls on Gabe's leg. 

Zack chest kicks him. They trade forearms and euros. They facekick each other. Gabe hits a big lariat. Gabe rams him with headbutts on all four's. Zack pele kicks the arm and is backdropped. Zack PK's him.  

Gabe brainbusters him twice.for 2. Zack michinoku drivers him. They lariat each other and Gabe knocks him down. Gabe does Tanahashi's pose on the buckles. Gabe comes off the top and Zack gets his knees up. Zack ties up one arm and armbars the other. Zack then pulls on the leg. Gabe ropebreaks. 

Zack stomps Gabe's arm on the apron. Gabe tombstones him on the apron. Gabe rebound lariats him for 2. Gabe sitout powerbombs him for 2. Gabe forearms him. Zack bridge pins him for 2. Gabe knees him in the face. Zack michinoku drivers him.  

Zack hits chops and Gabe chops back. They slap each other. Gabe knees him in the gut and piledrivers him. Gabe double underhook suplexes him then piledrivers him for the win.

Thoughts: Zack worked the arm here and Gabe stuck to strikes. The ending stretch wasn't that good here as Gabe just kind of randomly won with a piledriver. What we got was alright but it didn't really get to the next level.

Gabe talks on the mic after. He pretends to cry and tells Zack to get out of here. Gabe says he will win the G1 then go to the Continental Classic. He then says f*ck the G1 and NJPW.

Overall thoughts: The undercard was a total waste of time. It was nothing but short matches that couldn't amount to anything because of the length. I liked Oskar/Wolf and thought it was the match of the night. Henare/Ren wasn't bad. Drilla/Newman would have been better without the interference but it was still okay. Zack/Gabe ended a little suddenly and the match didn't get to the next level. That was alright though. I can only give this a 5 out of 10 though as the undercard as truly a waste and brought down this event. It was average overall due to the undercard being so pointless.
