Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling Mayhem 7/22/2026

We are in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Don Callis and Mauro Ranallo are our hosts.

We get some clips from last week's show to start. Johnny TV says, "Welcome to my show". 

The hosts talk but the audio is low.

MLP Canadian Tag Team Title Match - 1st Faction (Brent Banks & Sheldon Jean) (c) vs. Capitan Suicida & Mascara Dorada

Jean waistlock takedowns Cap. BB wristlocks Cap, Cap flips out using the ropes and armdrags him. BB hits him in the gut. Cap boots him out of the corner and MD springboard crossbodies BB. MD flips over BB and corkscrew headscissors him. MD flips off of Jean and does a reverse headscissors on BB + a botched armdrag on Jean.

Jean trips and pulls out MD. BB pounds on Cap in the ring. Jean euros Cap down. Jean hits mounted shots on Cap. We go to break and return. BB chinlocks Cap then Jean chinlocks Cap. Jean double underhook suplexes Cap for 2. 

Jean misses a corner charge and takes an enzugiri. Cap backrolls into a cutter on BB. MD is popped up into a double dropkick on the heels. MD and Cap hit stereo topes out. Cap twisting swantons and MD top rope 450's. Both get 2 counts. Bryce Hansen distracts the luchadores.

Jean gets dropkicked by MD. MD is back body dropped over the top rope. BB tope con hilos the luchadores outside. Jean backdrop lifts MD into a neckbreaker for 2. Cap fights off his opponents on the buckles. Bryce pushes MD off the top but he dropkicks Jean.

MD kicks Bryce off the apron. Jean swinging side slams Cap and pins him.

Thoughts: It got a lot of time. It was alright but it went a little longer than it needed to and it had a slower pace to it. They didn't really go all out for this one and little was mentioned of how the luchadores earned this shot. It was a good choice for the opener though.

We get a Dani Luna video. A man who is never introduced says she moved from Wales and has scarified a lot for wrestling. The man about what Subculture stands for and says loving wrestling allows you to find yourself while still being unique. An unknown person talks about wanting to basically be the most famous wrestler from Wales and wants to represent Wales. They say Dani can stake her claim to being the best wrestler by winning the MLP Women's Title.

TJP says what Johnny TV said last week wasn't nice. He says Johnny acts like he is filming a movie and says the next movie will be a horror production. He says we will find out if Johnny is as good in the ring as he is in his own head. 

Dani Luna vs. Vanna Black

Dani backs her up in the corner and VB escapes. Dani side headlocks her and takes her down by the wrist. VB boots her in the gut then Dani shoulders her over. Dani misses a corner charge and VB rolls into a basement dropkick on her. 

Dani corner lariats her, overhead suplexes her and sliding lariats her for 2. Dani slams her then chin and armlocks her. VB jawbreakers her and running boots her in the face. VB boots her out of the corner and rolls into a codebreaker for 2. Dani does a slingshot blue thunder for 2. 

Dani inverted cradle shocks her and pins her.

Thoughts: Dani won as expected here. VB didn't do anything too impressive but she hit her offense clean. It didn't get that much time to be anything special. This was basically a squash. 

Subculture celebrates in the locker room. Dani complains about the women's champ.

Rohan Raja congratulates Stu Grayson on being champ. He says he's been champions' grail champ for 600 days. He says he attacked Stu last week so he would know the target is on his back. He says they can talk about the legends of the past but need to talk about the legends of the now.

TJP vs. Johnny TV

They lock up and JTV wristlocks him. TJP side headlocks him. TJP snapmares him and misses the red mist. They try to high kick each other at the same time. We go to break and return not too long after. JTV straightjacket chokes him. TJP does an octopus on him. TJP then trips him and cranks his arm back. TJP steps on the arm.

TJP sleepers him on the ropes. JTV capoeira kicks him then neckbreakers him over the 2nd rope. TJP's head is banged off the apron. JTV puts on Meta glasses and we see his POV. TJP is dropped chest first on the apron edge. 

JTV buzzsaw kicks him. JTV hits forearms in the corner. JTV airplane spins him then back elbows him. I think we go to break and return. TJP dropkicks him from behind and puts the Meta glasses on. TJP triangle dropkicks him over the 2nd rope. 

JTV rolls up TJP for 2 then russian legsweeps him. JTV tries to put the glasses back on but the ref takes them.  JTV enzugiri's him in the corner. JTV pulls his arms back. TJP flips forward an double boots him. JTV evades him in the corner and enzugiri's him. TJP puts him in the tarantula. TJP tornado ddt's him. 

TJP flying back elbows him in the corner. TJP hits facewash kicks. JTV springboard enzugiri's him. JTV misses a starship pain. TJP does a regal stretch variation. JTV hits forearms. TJP spin kicks him and JTV does something like a pele kick on him. They both go down.

JTP flying leg lariats him and running knees him. JTV is on the 2nd rope and is dropkicked. TJP top rope double stomps him. TJP hits a go to sleep variation with a kick to the head. JTV flipping neckbreakers him then hits starship pain. JTV pins him.

Thoughts: I didn't like the first half at all as they were screwing around with video camera glasses in what is supposed to be a serious main event. It got a little better when they went to the actual match but it was a bit too late already. This wasn't as good as it should have been.

Rohan Raja faces Evil Uno for the PWA Champions Grail next week.

Overall thoughts: I didn't like the show that much. The opener was fine but it was a random one. Dani Luna vs Vanna Black was basically a squash. The main was disappointing as they goofed around the first half with Meta glasses and pretty much took me out of the match with it. They really didn't bother to explain the wrestlers all that much and just kind of assumed you knew who they were.If you are hoping for homegrown Canadian stars, MLP isn't your thing. If you want to see some of AEW's undercard and other indy guys who are available in Canada, you might like this promotion a little more. I'd give it a 4 out of 10 as it was a little below average.
