Team Spirit does a promo. Ariel Sky said she wanted to make Coach proud and tells them to put their trios tournament trophy on the line.

Top Tier comes out. Dave tells them what they did was despicable. Coach agrees to put the trophy on the line but says she would have thought Arie had enough of the trophy.

Abilene Maverick is at the doctor's office. She wants to prove she can't wrestle. The doctor says she can then Ab kicks him and he says she can wrestle. We then see a poster on the wall showing that this is a vet clinic.

Exile (Exodus and Ice Cold) vs Americana and Santana Garrett

Ex wristlocks SG then Ice wristlocks her. SG cartwheels out of it then Ice forward cartwheels out of the wristlock. Ex side headlocks SG and headlock takeovers her. Ex headscissors her then SG backslides her for 2. Ameri boots Ex then handspring back elbows her. SG jumps off of Ameri's back and hits Ex.

Ameri takes a double knee to the gut then an Ice elbow. Ice snapmares Ameri then meteoras her for 2. Ameri is ddt'd by Ex. SG does a headflip into a lariat then russian legsweeps her. Ex superkicks Ice Cold then SG superkicks Ex. SG handspring moonsaults her and gets the win.

The announcers definitely got Americana and Santana confused here at times. It was a decent match with the faces getting worked on, the heels screwing up then the faces capitalizing on it.

BK Rhythm vs Holidead

BK does a rap on Holidead, saying she looks like a mouse that escaped from a haunted house. Holi gets tripped by BK then BK gets on her back for a sleeper. BK is thrown over then BK hits back elbows. BK's head is banged off the buckles by Holi. BK gets on the ropes and is suplexed in then legdropped.

Holi rams BK's head into the buckles. Lil J Boogie and Gigi Gianni distract Holi then BK backcrackers Holi. BK rolls her into an elbow drop for 2. BK pulls both of Holi's arms back. BK trips Holi then chokes her over the bottom rope. The Brat Pack mess with Holi while the ref isn't looking.

BK gets on Holi's back and tries to dragon sleeper her. Holi back rams her into the buckles. Holi hits shots then puts BK on the top rope. Holi kneelifts her as she hangs there for 2. BK avoids a swinging side slam. BK flips out of the gutwrench and hits a reverse ddt. BK's lip gets busted open. Holi does an angel's wings and wins it.

This was heel vs heel so Holi had to work face here which made things hard. It wasn't that great with BK not being that good here.

Foxxy Fierce and Chantilly Chella help out Holiday after then The Brat Pack jump Holi. This is the first time we've seen Foxxy this year. They try to dance with Holi and she's not having it.

The Mother Truckers talk in the locker room. Holly said they are wrestling the cats and the dogs tonight and said the tag titles aren't dog collars. They say they got two words for them - honk honk.

WOW Tag Titles - The Mother Truckers (Holly Swagg and Big Rig Betty) vs Animal Control (Katarina Jinx and Goldie Collins)

Jinx has some cat eyes on her gear and Goldie is a dog trainer, so that explains this name. The guy with McClane said they should call them "Animal Instinct" (and Dave agrees) but they get announced as "Animal Control". Dave says the people are calling Swagg Towing to try and meet the two.

Holly throws her hat at Goldie and Goldie catches it. Jinx trips Holly and rakes her back. Holly legsweeps her then meteora's the back of her head. Golide and Betty go at it. Betty hits a euro and a bulldog. Betty superkicks her. Goldie takes a changing lanes, which is where you get straightjacketed by two girls and pulled down. Goldie stomps Holly.

Jinx headscissors Holly on the ropes and Holly rolls her up for 1. Jinx high kicks her then Holly takes a delayed double suplex. Goldie bangs Holly's head off the mat. Holly blocks a double boot and Jinx ends up doing an enzugiri to Goldie. Betty hits lariats then rainmakers Goldie.

Betty russian legsweeps Jinx and hits a stunner to win it.

Jinx and Goldie aren't exactly people you would think would team together. WOW needs to figure out what their official name is. It was just average here. Betty needs to work on making her stunner look better.

Betty says her and Holly just ran over those two like roadkill. Betty said they need to pick them up and take them home for stew. Holly said to send out whoever else you got as they will turn them into roadkill too. Holly then says we've got two words for you - honk honk.

David McClane interviews The Beast in the ring. Dave shows her clips from her WOW Title match with Abilene Maverick. A camera shot shows Ab grabbing brass knucks. Dave said The Beast was proven correct and did not have the brass knuckles on. Beast said she wants her rematch and Dave says she's getting her rematch.

Top Tier talk in the back. Coach says not to worry about Team Spirit. They then do a group cheer. They run into Team Spirit and security breaks it up, telling them to save it for the ring.

The Dojo Defenders (a martial arts tag team) debut next week and Reina del Rey will be in action as well.

WOW Trios Trophy - Top Tier (Coach Campanelli, Gloria Glitter and Kandi Krush) (c) vs Team Spirit (Pep Riley, Sasha Sparks and Ariel Sky)

Coach and Sky start us off. Coach twists her into a bodyscissors. Sky uses her leg to get out of it in a cool manuever. Coach tries to trip Sky but Sky rolls out of it. Sasha back rolls into a headscissors on Gloria. Sasha armdrags and dropkicks her for 2. Gloria is tripped by Sasha and Pep.

Pep rolls up Kandi then Kandi does a rainmaker style lariat for 1. Pep takes shots from her opponents in the corner then Kandi sliding forearms her. Kandi throws her off the headlock. Pep goes up and over Coach then does a cartwheel back elbow.

Coach boots Sasha then knees her in the gut. Sasha takes a double gordbuster and Gloria stomps on Sasha. Gloria surfboards her then Sasha jawbreakers and upkicks her. Sky forward cartwheels into a lariat on Coach then backrolls into a headscissors on Kandi. Sky rolls into a codebreaker on Coach then backflips into a back elbow on Kandi. Sky cartwheel basement dropkicks Kandi. Sky does a wraparound bulldog on Coach.

Sasha step up knees Coach then takes a neckbreaker. Gloria germans Sky then Pep 2nd rope crossbodies Gloria. Kandi cradle shocks Pep then Sasha bulldogs Kandi. Coach hits an unprettier (called the buzzer beater) on Sasha and wins it.

This was a good tag and was a real showcase for Sky. I said when she debuted that Sky had a lot of potential to get ahead in wrestling and she showed it here. While I was kind of sour on Coach leaving Team Spirit, if it means Sky's going to be groomed to be a top girl then it'll be fine. I don't love the faces losing today, but if this feud is continuing and they get that win back at some point down the line, it'll be worth it. The work in this tag was really above the usual for WOW and these girls were working hard at a fast pace. I'd really like to see this one again. 

Overall thoughts: A good main always helps a show out and the main event was good here. I got a good laugh out of the Goldie Collins segment at the doctor's office and The Beast's segment was good too. BK/Holidead was heel vs heel and didn't really work. The commentators got confused between Garrett and Americana and the ring announcer called Animal Instinct the wrong name which was a problem since it was their debut. I'd say it was good overall though due to the main and the opener.

Adam Copeland comes out to talk. He said he closed the book on the Christian feud and is restarting The Cope Open. He said his title will be on the line during these matches and asks who is coming out to step up to the challenge.

TNT Title - Adam Copeland (c) vs Matt Cardona

Why? Just why? Adam shoulders him open then Matt hiptosses him. Adam upkicks him, hits a hiptoss and has the same thing happen to him. Matt shoulders Adam over then they try to dropkick eac hother at the same time. Matt hits knees to the gut then stomps on him. Adam is thrown into the corner but he slides out and taunts him. Adam lariats him on the floor. Matt rakes Adam's eyes then pushes him into the steps. We go to PiP break and return.

Adam is thrown down backwards then Adam chinlocks him. They crossbody, lariat and face kick each other at the same time. Matt is pulled off the 2nd rope then Adam throws him down off the buckles. Adam then jumps off the buckles and diving bulldogs him for 2. Adam pulls him down backwards with a headbuster for 2.

Adam goes up and comes back in and gets the rope kicked into his crotch. Matt hits Adam's own impaler ddt on him for 2. Adam misses a spear and buckle bombs Matt. Adam sitout powerbombs him for 2. Adam goes for a spear but takes a leg lariat. Adam spears him and gets the win.

Thoughts: Look, it was an okay match, but this was completely pointless. It's not going to help ratings. There's a lot of people on the roster who could have had a good match here, Matt's probably not going to be used regularly and it obviously doesn't really help anyone. 

The lights go out then Malakai Black teleports in the ring. Black stares down Adam then Buddy Matthews nails Adam from behind. 

Mark Briscoe comes out to help and is popped up into a knee. Eddie Kingston, looking like a bum, then comes out. The lights go out and The House of Black leaves. By the way, Eddie and Mark are fighting in an ROH PPV main event next week and had no issues or anything here.

We see an FTR interview from earlier in the day. Cash said he doesn't think they are favorites to win the tag title tournament. They say the strategy for tonight is to not look past The Infantry. Dax says it's March Madness and they shouldn't look past the Cinderella team. Dax said they love Cinderella teams and stories but it ends tonight.

The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn are interviewed. Billy said he's p!ssed off at Jay White. He said he can get past him hitting him with a chair but not him coming into his house. He said Jay talks about selling out MSG but he's sold that out more times. He said he's facing Jay White next week and said we will see how good he really is.

Max gets on the mic. He said The Gunn's should stay in the back during that match and Max said his team will stay in the back too during this. Max says there's no way the "twinkblade" beats Billy Gunn in a fight. Bowens said Jay White proved he was a coward last night. He said The Bullet Club ran like cowards when they saw Billy Gunn. Bowens said the demise of Bullet Club Gold begins next week. 

AEW Tag Title Tournament Quarterfinals - The Infantry vs FTR

I believe The Infantry have new music here. Dax side headlocks Dean then Dax fireman's carry takeovers him. Dax headlock takeovers him and gets headscissored. Dean hits armdrags.

Bravo shoulders over Dax then armdrags and dropkicks him. Dean then hits dropkicks too and FTR go out. Cash spears Dean on the ropes then Dean hits chops and gut shuts on him. Bravo slams Cash then elbow drops him. Bravo is caught in mid-air with a Cash powerslam. Dax chops Bravo then superplexes him.

We go to PiP break and return. Dax chops Bravo outside. Bravo's plancha is caught by both FTR members then Dean tope con hilos al of them over. Bravo top rope crossbodies Dax then Dax rolls through. Bravo uses the ropes to flip over and cradle Dax in a cool spot.

Cash is pushed off the ropes to the floor and CB crossbodies Dax. Bravo is powerbombed by Dax then Cash germans him. FTR go for a double suplex and Dean spears Cash hard. Infantry hit stereo superkicks. Dax then takes a jumping neckbreaker for 2.

Bravo ddt's Cash then is thrown out by Dax. FTR block a sunset flip and Dean helps it go through. Bravo back rolls Dax then FTR run into each other. Bravo rolls up Dax for 2. Dax flips Cash backwards so they can hit a shatter machine on Bravo. Dax picks up the win.

Thoughts: It had some sloppy moments but it was a good tag with The Infantry trying to pull the upset off here. I loved the finish with Dax flipping his own partner backwards to hit the shatter machine. Dean's dive to the outside was nice here and he ended up on the ramp out of it somehow. 

Lexi Nair interviews Big Bill and Ricky Starks. Bill says they aren't looking past Top Flight. Bill said they are a 16 seed and his team is a 1 seed. Bill said Top Flight aren't going to the dance and they will dance on them. Starks says they will beat Top Flight then FTR. Starks says history will repeat itself and they will beat FTR.

Mark Briscoe, Adam Copeland and Eddie Kingston do a promo. Adam says the TNT title makes him a marked man. He said if HoB wants to get in his business he's got backup. He challenges them to a 6-man with Eddie and Mark at Dynasty. Mark brings up Eddie saying they fight at Supercard of Honor and asks for a dogfight. Mark said House of Black is in for a long night at Dynasty. Eddie mocks their magic and said they will spit up blood and teeth at Dynasty.

Kyle O'Reilly vs JD Drake

JD hits a big chop then bangs Kyle's head off his knee. JD put him in the cobra clutch and they trade leg kicks. JD shining wizards him for 2. JD misses a vader bomb and cannonball. Kyle hits strikes on him and kicks to the chest. Kyle legsweeps him. Kyle axe kicks him then forearms him down. Kyle goes for the armbar and wins via tap out.

Thoughts: It was short and not that good. Kyle is not yet back to his old self and this was not as clean as it should have been.

The Undisputed Kingdom lift up Kyle after and celebrate with him. 

AEW Tag Title Tournament Quarterfinals - Ricky Starks and Big Bill vs Top Flight

Darius and Starks go at it. Starks hits shots then Darius slams him down. Darius hits an armdrag then armlocks him. Starks armdrags him then Darius backslides him. Darius suplexes him then Dante slingshot swantons him. Bill gets in. Dante chops him then hits a dropkick. Bill takes a double dropkick then Dante jumps off Darius' back to kick him off the apron. Starks takes a double dropkick then Dante takes a big boot from Bill.

We go to PiP break and return. Bill throws Dante in from the outside through the ropes. Bill splashes Dante then misses a splash. Dante top rope flip dives him. Darius gets in and hits shots on both opponents. He atomic drops Starks then uses the buckles to pele kick him. Darius dropkicks Bill and Bill gets sent out. Darius has Starks in a pin and Starks' shoulders are totally down but they say Ricky got his shoulders up.

Darius tornado ddt's Starks off of Dante and wins it. Starks appears to be hurt and is checked on after. They cut away from it and don't mention it, so it seems like Starks got hurt and they ended the match.

Thoughts: The finish was definitely botched here, possibly twice in a row. The finish came out of nowhere and didn't fit the match at all. It was going okay until that happened.

Christopher Daniels does a promo. He said he's been in AEW since Day 1. He said it's not about how long you have been here but who you have beaten. He asks Malakai Black if he will accept a match for some reason.

Thunder Rosa vs Lady Frost

Rosa throws her over with a fireman's carry. Lady forward cartwheels out of a wristlock then is tripped. Rosa shoulders her over and Lady kips up. Rosa armdrags her then uses the ropes to springboard headscissor her. Rosa dropkicks her over. Lady does like a buckshot from the buckles and hurricanrana's her. Lady then does a flipping neckbreaker for 2. Lady hits chops and boots. Lady flips over on the buckles and is lariated. We then go to PiP break and return.

Lady hits corner spears and a step up kick on the ropes. Rosa sunset flips her and they trade chops. Rosa lariats her and back elbows her. Rosa dropkicks her against the bottom rope. Lady cartwheels into an air raid crash on her. Rosa backcrackers her then Rosa hits a package side powerbomb and wins it.

Rosa brings up Toni Storm after and says to put some respect on her name.

Thoughts: It was a good little back and forth match. Lady finally had a good showing on live TV without any botches and she matched up well with Rosa.

Renee interviews Toni Storm, Mariah May and Luther. Renee tells her there will be a match for a title shot next week against Toni. It's Thunder Rosa vs Mariah May. Toni asks her if this was the plan all along and if she had been plotting this. Toni kisses her and calls her a genius. She says she sees herself in May and likes it.  She said Rosa will never get to sniff the leather of the title again.

They do a video on Will Ospreay while shilling upcoming matches.

Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli and Katsuyori Shibata vs Lance Archer and The Righteous

KS and Lance trade forearms. Lance forearms him then face kicks him. KS dropkicks him in the knee then hits forearms. KS climbs on Lance's back and sleepers him. Lance throws him over and they stand off. Dutch and CC lock up. Dutch slams CC then Dutch shoulders him over.

CC leapfrogs Dutch then hits a flying shoulder. CC slams him then double stomps him. Bryan hits euros on Dutch then Dutch bodyblocks him. Vincent hits shots on Bryan then Bryan flying kicks Dutch off the apron. Bryan hits punches on Vincent, flips over him then topes Dutch outside. Bryan flying knees Lance off the apron then Bryan is thrown into the rails.  We go to PiP break and return. 

Dutch beats up on Bryan then Bryan Lebell locks him. Lance breaks it up. Dutch hits shots on Bryan then slams Lance onto him. Lance then slams Dutch onto Bryan. Dutch hits a black hole slam on Bryan for 2. Dutch and Bryan fight on the 2nd rope then Bryan knocks him off. Bryan top rope dropkicks him.

CC and Lance lariat battle. CC hurricanrana's him then hits a flurry of shots in the corner. CC cutters him while he's on the 2nd rope. CC and KS hit running shots in the corner. Lance takes shots from both then KS slaps him. CC giant swings him. CC sharpshooters him then Dutch side slams CC. Dutch shiranui's Bryan then KS hits forearms on Dutch and Vincent.

Dutch is pulled out and Vincent is back body dropped out. Lance boots Ks in the head which is dumb considering Shibata's injuries. Lance big boots CC then uranage's him. Vincent swantons CC then is suplexed. KS face kicks Vincent in the corner then hits a corner dropkick. KS suplexes him then does an armbar.

Bryan is thrown out and KS throws Lance out. Vincent rolls up KS for 2 and hits forearms. KS sleepers him then PK's him to win it.

Thoughts: It was a decent and long trios match as expected here. Nothing too wild and the big men dominated for a bite here before eventually being put down. The result was never in doubt due to The Righteous never getting any major wins and due to Lance losing so often. I didn't like Shibata taking boots to the head when he really shouldn't be wrestling due to head injuries.

Overall thoughts: It was a good night of wrestling here but there wasn't a lot going on storyline wise was usual. Matt Cardona came in for unknown reasons and lost. FTR beat Infantry in a good tag. Kyle O'Reilly didn't look that good in his 2nd match back. Starks got hurt in his tag match and they definitely pulled an audible on the finish. Lady Frost and Thunder Rosa meshed well together and the main was long but fine.

WWF Primetime Wrestling 8/19/1990 Summerslam Fever 

This is Primetime, but it's a Summerslam special with a much better card than usual.

Bobby Heenan and Vince McMahon are the hosts. Bobby says Duggan is going to the hospital tonight via Earthquake. He says Warrior will say he quits against Rude tonight, cancelling their match. Heenan then calls Nikolai Volkoff a traitor and said he stabbed Boris Zhukov in the back. Heenan says last time Hulk was on Brother Love, he took a ride to the hospital and said it may happen again here.

We see clips from Rockers/Demolition from SNME 7/28/1990 with Ax cheating and pinning Shawn while not being in the match. We then see The Legion of Doom come down and join the argument after. 

Jim Neidhart vs Smash

Heenan claims Bret Hart is supposed to be here instead of Neidhart but the Hart Foundation are using Demolition's tricks against them. I don't know how true that is. They lock up, bang shoulders and taunt each other. They boot each other in the gut and Jim wristlocks Smash. Jim shoulders Smash over then Smash chokes him. Jim hits forearms then bangs Smash's head off the buckle.

Jim pulls Smash off the ropes then boots him in the corner. Jim flying lariats Smash for 2 then armlocks him. Smash slams him and is caught off the 2nd rope with an atomic drop. Jim is pulled into the buckles face first. Smash lariats Jim then double axe handles him.

Jim bangs Smash's head off the mat then Smash misses an elbow drop. Jim hits forearms then hits a big back body drop. Jim hits a nice dropkick for 2 then russian legsweeps him. Jim shoulders him over then throws Smash into the post outside.

Jim slingshot sunset flips him but Smash holds onto the ropes. Smash picks up the pin.

It wasn't a bad heavyweight match. I'd say it was average but there wasn't anything wrong with it, it just wasn't great.

Smash holds his title up at Jim then Jim hits him and nails him with the title. Jim then pose with the title and walks away with it. Ax and Crush then rightfully jump Jim for it and officials have to break it up.

Mean Gene Okerlund said Jim Neidhart was supposed to be his guest but that's now off. Demolition then join him on the stage. Ax calls Gene a bald headed geek. He says he's not worried about them or anyone else. He said they control the tag team scene. He said The Hart's wanted a taste of demolition and got a tiny taste of it. Ax said they will them the full nine course meal at Summerslam and they won't like it.

Smash said the Hart's don't know which two of them will be in the ring. He says nobody touches their belts.

"The Texas Tornado" Kerry Von Erich vs Black Bart

They shove each other and get separated in the corner. Bart shoves Kerry. Kerry takes him down and elbow drops his leg. They choke each other and Bart uppercuts him. Bart takes a hiptoss and a clothesline. Kerry hits punches then bodyslams him. Kerry running discus punches him and wins it.

It was short and not that good. Bart went 50/50 with Kerry before the finish.

Mean Gene Okerlund interviews Bobby Heenan and Mr. Perfect. Heenan said Kerry was rusty and had his coordination off on some moves. Heenan said if he was 100%, he still wouldn't be perfect. Perfect says he's what champs are made of and is the big shot of the WWF. He said he has the perfect manager and said nobody beats Mr. Perfect. 

The Warlord vs "Pistol" Pez Whatley

 

Heenan says Warlord gets bigger every hour. Pez side headlocks him then has his back roll blocked. War misses an elbow drop then Pez hits shots on the arm. War backbreakers him then clubs his back. War hits a knee lift. Heenan talks about Boss Man's wife. War hits Pez's head off the buckles and Pez starts to hulk up and no sell.

War knees him in th gut. War bends over and gets headbutted. Pez hits jabs and headbutts him off the 2nd rope. Pez is caught off the 2nd rope and atomic dropped. War powerslams him and picks up the win.

It was quite the site to see Pez get offense in on Warlord here. That never happens otherwise. It really wasn't a bad squash and Pez got a little boost here for a change and War won as expected.

We see clips of Rick Rude training with Bobby Heenan. You can tell it was taped as Rude has long hair at one point in this then short hair at another. Rude talks trash to Warrior and talks about how he's going to win.

Mean Gene interviews The Ultimate Warrior. He said Rude is a desperate man and desperate men do desperate things. Warrior says Rude will never walk as WWF champ. Warrior says Rude must experience fear and said let it be if that awaits him in the cage. He said there is no other reason to live. Warrior says it will be the Warriors who make the command of whether he goes through the door or over the cage wall. 

Boris Zhukov vs Nikolai Volkoff

We get some highlights of Volkoff's recent face turn. Both men have their flags with them. Heenan and Vince agree that this will be a fight. Boris hits him from behind then Nik double boots him. Nik bangs Boris' head off the buckles then throws him hard into the buckles. He hits stomps then bangs Boris' head off the apron. Heenan calls Nik the dumber of the two.

Nik slams Boris on the floor then chokes him in the corner. Boris hits some shots to the head. Heenan said we need a Russian or Iraqi ref here. Nik pulls Boris down by the beard then back body drops him. Nik catches Boris' boot then atomic drops him. Boris is sent into the buckles and lariated in the back of the head. Nik then wins it.

It was disappointing as it was only a few minutes long. Boris really didn't get much in before being defeated here. So much for that feud.

Mean Gene interviews Macho King Randy Savage and Sensational Queen Sherri. Sherri has tiger facepaint on. Savage warns Dusty Rhodes that he is going against the greatest wrestler today, tomorrow, past, present and future. He said he will be defeated as easy as 1-2-3. Sherri says "Sweet and Sour" Sapphire wanted her. Sherri said just when Sapphire thinks she has her at a disadvantage, she will rip her heart out right in front of her. She said then she will show the world what a common woman Sapphire is. Gene says Sherri has lost it. Macho says Dusty and Sapphire will feel their wrath at Summerslam.

We see clips of Tugboat getitng jumped by Earthquake, Dino Bravo and Jimmy Hart from WWF Superstars of Wrestling 8/18/1990.

The Brother Love Show

Love says he loves us and brings out Hulk Hogan and Jimmy Hart. Earthquake is supposed to be here but Hart claims Quake is afraid. Hart said he's not afraid of Hulk, he's afraid of what he might do to Hulk. Hart said last time Hulk asked where's Quake, he put his hands on Hart and got put on a stretcher.

Hart said he wants to make sure Hulk doesn't interfere in the Quake/Duggan match tonight. He said if he does, Hulk will not make it to Summerslam. Hulk says he only answers to God up in the sky and The Hulkamaiac's. He tells Quake to come out if he has something to say to him.

Hulk says it's time for a pre-Summerslam kickoff and kicks Hart in the butt out of the ring. Hart runs for it. Love rips him for hitting the smaller Hart and says it will be 1v1 vs Quake at Summerslam. He says Quake will have Dino Bravo in his corner and said Hulk will be all alone as Tugboat is out. He says Hulk is afraid.

Hulk grabs Love. He said he will never be afraid due to God and The Hulkamaniac's. He said Love gives him the creeps and this reminds him of Quake's attack on him. hulk says he wants everyone to know that when Quake falls off the Richter Scale, it was due to Hulk Hogan. He then does his "whatcha gonna do" line and poses.

Power and Glory vs Mark Thomas and Mike Williams

Heenan and said some people call P&G "Herc and Jerk". Heenan asks if Roma looks like a jerk and Vince says he does. Roma poses at Mark then decks him with a lariat. Roma stomps him then hits a great dropkick. Roma nails Mike then throws him high on a double underhook suplex. Herc lariats Mike and poses.

Mike is gorilla pressed out to the floor by Herc. Herc knees Mark, slams and elbow drops him. P&G hit the powerplex. Roma gets win with his foot on Mark.

It was quick with Power and Glory looking good here.

Sweet Sapphire is interviewed. Heenan said Dusty's song sucks and Vince asks him to boogie down. Gene points out Sapphire's new jewelry. He tells us she pulled up to the arena in a limo. She says Sherri will have a big surprise and get covered with polka-dots. Gene asks who is giving Sapphire these gifts. Sapphire said she doesn't know but she thinks she's falling in love with whoever it is. Sapphire said she's not saying a word about her biggest gift and you will see it at Summerslam. Sapphire said Dusty came in a winner at Summerslam and will leave one. She then dances with Mean Gene. Heenan said Sapphire will reveal she's The Big Boss Man's mother at Summerslam. 

Jake "The Snake" Roberts vs "Iron" Mike Sharpe

Jake wristlocks him and has his eyes raked. Mike hiptosses him and misses an elbow drop. Jake hits a knee lift then Mike hits corner spears. Mike back elbows him and clubs on Jake. Mike misses a corner charge then Jake hits punches. Jake short arm lariats him then ddt's him for the win. 

It was a short one here with Mike getting a little offense in then being put down.

Jake puts Damien on Mike after and Mike bumps for it. We know OCD Mike hated that one.

Bad News Brown is with his sewer rats. He shows us one that is huge and definitely not a rat. He said he promised them a treat in Damien and always keeps his promises. He said his rats will take care of Damien once and for all.

Mr. Perfect vs "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin

Perfect shoves him in the corner and Ron slaps him. They grab each other by the throat and trade shots. Perfect is thrown out by the hair then Ron drops him with punches. Perfect goes out to recover with Heenan.

Perfect clubs on him then chops him. They trade shots. Ron punches him and sends him over the top. Ron headbutts him then rolls into a jack knife pin on him. Ron bangs Perfect's head off the mat and splashes him. Perfect gets put in a camel clutch.

Ron blocks Perfect from banging his head off the buckles. Ron hits a great punch that drops Perfect then hits more shots. Ron goes for a suplex but Perfect hits a perfectplex instead. Perfect then picks up the win here.

This was a really interesting and different type of match here. It was slower and mostly all strikes. Perfect did everything he could to put Ronnie over here and did a good job with it. Perfect maybe put him over too much here as Ronnie came out looking like real tough. It was a real slugfest here and Ronnie hit some great looking shots. 

Mean Gene interviews Dino Bravo and Jimmy Hart. Dino said he and Hart will be in Quake's corner at Summerslam but asks who will be in Hulk's corner. Hart says Tugboat is 20,000 leagues under the sea and says Hulk is all alone. Dino says Quake will finish Hulk off once and for all there. He said if Hulk interferes in Quake's match tonight, he won't make it to Summerslam.

The Orient Express vs Shane Douglas and Sonny Blaze

Tanaka pounds on Shane then shoulders him over. Shane hiptosses and side headlocks him. Shane is lifted but does a headlock takeover + headscissors takeover on both Express members. Sato kneebreakers Shane over his knee. Sato back elbows Sonny. Sonny is held and kicked by Sato. Tanaka leapfrogs Sato and buttdrops Sato's back.

Tanaka flying forearms Sonny then Sato side kicks Sonny. Sato sitout powerbombs Sonny and gets the win.

It was a quick squash here with The Express doing their usual stuff. I was surprised Shane was allowed to get a move on both at the same time.

Earthquake v "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan

Dino Bravo is immediately ejected before he even does anything. Quake pushes off Duggan then does Hulk's poses. Jim lariats him and backs him up some then hits corner punches. Jim hits more punches then is thrown out. Jim headlocks Quake outside and Quake pushes him into the post. Jimmy Hart chokes Duggan.

Quake rams his butt into Duggan in the corner. Duggan goes for a slam and has his back clubbed. Quake bearhugs Duggan then Duggan bites his way out. Quggan shoulders him and backs him up. Quake spins and almost goes down. Duggan hits a 3 point stance lariat and knocks Quake onto the ropes. Dino Bravo comes in and Duggan lariats him. Duggan wins via disqualification.

Duggan takes a 2v1 then is double slammed. Hulk Hogan comes down with Duggan's 2x4 and nails the heels. The heels walk off then Hogan poses.

I was said this ended the way it did because it was a decent match with Duggan trying to knock over Quake and nearly succeeding.

Mean Gene interviews Quake's Crew. Hart says Hulk will never get away with this. Bravo says Hulk pays the real price at Summerslam. Quake said he has all the incentive he needs to beat Hulk at Summerslam and said Hulk had no right to be down there. He says Hulk is all his at Summerslam.

Heenan is on the phone then Mean Gene interviews Brother Love. Love will have Sgt. Slaughter on his show at Summerslam. He said he's the best leader since Saddam Hussein. Love makes his picks for Summerslam, picking all of the heels to win. Brother Love is supposed to wrap up the show. The lights go out on him as he tells people he loves them. He keeps talking and the show eventually cuts him off.

Overall thoughts: It was a really different style of show than what the WWF had been putting on. There were no insets here. We had a few competitive matches and they ran angles and interviews here. ind of like a cross between SNME and Superstars. Garvin/Henning was surprisingly the MOTN. Neidhart/Smash wasn't bad and Duggan/Quake was looking good before it ended abruptly. Pez Whatley gave it his all against Warlord. All of the stars were here as well which also helped out the show. I liked it overall and I think it added to the build to Summerslam.
