Pro Wrestling NOAH 9/3/2023 N-1 Victory 2023 Day 9

Here's what I saw. This is the official end of the N-1.

Mohammed Yone & Yu Owada vs. Kai Fujiwara & Taishi Ozawa

Yu and Ozawa start us off. Ozawa wristlocks him then headlock takeovers him. Yu puts a headscissors on him and they stand off. Yu armdrags Kai. Yu is backed up into the ropes and hits a dropkick on Yone. Yone shoulders him over.

Kai dropkicks Yone in the gut then they trade chops. Ozawa shoulers Yu over then does some headlock takeovers. Oawa shoulders him over again and they armdrag each other. Ozawa hits a big hiptoss on Yu then Yu crossbodies him. Yone running lariats Ozawa then Ozawa hits chest forearms. Yone knocks him back with a forearm. Yone running lariats and running double forearms him.

Yu gutwrenches Ozawa then top rope crossbodies him. Ozawa hits a nice dropkick and slams him. Ozawa suplexes him for 2. Ozawa top rope dropkicks Yu and wins it.

Its your basic young lions match though they got to do some more moves than usual. Nothing wrong with this and there's only so much you can say.

 El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. & Lance Anoai vs. Adam Brooks & Stallion Rogers

Doc = El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr.

Rogers got a short haircut. Adam refuses to shake hands and footslaps Lance. Adam hits Lance in the back of the head and gets himoutside. He kicks him from the apron then topes him. Adam 2nd rope knees him over the neck. Lance headbutts Rogers  then Rogers dropkicks Doc. Lance tries to sunset flip Rogers but gets double stomped. Adam pump kicks Lance and says, "acknowledge me, uce".

Adam spinning elbows him and Lance pop-up samoan drops Adam. Doch its chops and punches on Adam then takes a corner boot. Doc slaps, headbutts and cutters Adam. Adam pump kicks him and running forearms him for 2. Rogers germans Doc then F-5's him for 2. Doc back body drops him out of a move and hits a step up enzugiri. Lance splashes Rogers in the corner then Adam takes a double superkick. Fatu and Doc hit cannonballs in the corner on Rogers. Lance topes Adam outside.

Doc hits a michinoku driver on Rogers and wins it.

It was a shorter match and kind of sprinty. It was fine but nothing memorable.

Psycho Clown came out after and he seems to be the mystery man they have been teasing social media.

Hibiscus Mii, Hiroyo Matsumoto & Yuu vs. Maya Yukihi, Miyuki Takase & Sumire Natsu

 

MT = Miyuki Takase

Mii is the former Apple Miyuki and she looks awful with the blonde hair. Hiroyo and MT start us off. Hiroyo side headlocks her and they grab each other by the hair. Hiroyo shoulders her over hard. Natsu swings a whip at Yuu and hits her with it. Yuu blocks Natsu's bronco buster then hits a double side slam. Mii top rope crossbodies Natsu then takes a stunner.

Natsu low blows Mii then bronco busters her and northern lights suplexes her. Maya hits kicks on Mii then Mii flying neckbreakers her. Hiroyo lariats Maya against the ropes then casadora backdrops her. Hiroyo is lariated then takes a double basement dropkick. Maya sliding knees Hiroyo through the ropes then Hiroyo superplexes her at 5 minutes.

MT lariats Yuu and gets nowhere. Yuu double chops her then MT top rope dropkicks her. MT puts her in an octopus then Yuu swings her off. Yuu swinging side slams her then misses a senton. MT top rope legdrops Yuu. Hiroyo hits a double backdrop. Mii holds MT down in the corner then Yuu cannonballs both in a dumb move. Yuu does her seated, bouncing splash off the top and wins.

It was a short little sprint. Nothing was wrong with it and everyone got their highlight spots in before going home.

Four Way Survival Match - Alpha Wolf vs. Alejandro vs. Dragon Bane vs. Ninja Mack

Alpha Wolf was first eliminated by Alejandro. Mack eliminated Alejandro with a pheonix 630 and Bane picked up the win over Mack.

It was total spot fu with a very fast pace and tons of various flips and dives. If they had cut it off about halfway, I would have been cool with it but thye did too much here.

GHC Jr. Heavyweight Tag Titles - Chris Ridgeway and Daga vs Atsushi Kotoge and Hi69

Hi69 is Hi69 somedays and HIROKI other days. I don't get it. Chris backdrops 69 the 69 Japanese armdrags Daga. 69 topes chris then Daga leg lariats Kotoge. Kotoge cutters Daga then Daga lariats him. Chris Knees Kotoge hard in the head. Kotoge suplexes Daga and slides outside into a pump kick. 69 asai moonsaults Chris for 2. 69 then suplexes Chris.

69 pop up euros Chris then takes a spinning back high kick. Daga dragon suplexes Kotoge then step up enzugiri's him. Daga backcrackers him then flying kicks him. Kotoge slingshots and rolls in and Daga handstands to avoid a cutter. Daga then powerbombs him on the knee. Chris brainbusters Kotoge for 2. Chris takes an elbow and a knee then 69 hits a Hiroki bomb. Kotoge tope con hilos 69 then 69 top rope splashes Chris for 2.

Chirs germans 69 then Daga double stomps 69's back. Daga pop-up shoulderbreakers 69 for 2. Daga double underhook drops 69 on his knees and wins it.
 
I felt like it had ups and downs here with action happening then everyone stopping. It wasn't great or well thought out, but it didn't go too long and they didn't overdo it too much, so it was somewhat watchable.

Takashi Sugiura, Masa Kitamiya and Naomichi Marufuji vs Yuma Anzai, Yoshiki Inamura and Yuki Yoshioka

Sugi = Takashi Sugiura, Ina = Yoshiki Inamura, Maru = Marufuji

Masa and Ina lockup. Ina's going on an excursion after this, after many years as a pro and at the age of 30. Masa shoulders him over then Ina shoulders him over. Ina slams Masa. Maru gets in and asks for Yuma Anzai to get in. Maru and Yuma traide chops for forearms. Maru hits Kawada kicks then facekicks him. Yuma then dropkicks him.

Sugi and Yuki trade forearms. Yuki hits dropkick. Ina gets in and Sugi throws him over the top. Masa then throws Ina into the rails outside. Maru boots Ina around to mess with him then hits chops. Ina spinning slams him. Yuki suplexes him. Ina drops him on both knees then bulldogs him. Ina sentons him then top rope crossbodies him.

Yuma running forearms Ina then hits a nice belly to belly for 2. Yuma double underhook suplexes Masa then Masa spears him. Sugi running facekicks Yuma then running knees him. Sugi 2nd rope suplexes Anzai and they trade forearms. Sugi facekicks him then takes a jumping knee. Ina suplexes Sugi for 2 then splashes him. Sugi knees Ina in the gut. Ina shoulders over Maru then powerslams Ina. Yuki lariats Sugi then Ina running sumo pushes him in the corner. Ina then powerslams him for 2 and hits a belly to belly overhead.

Sugi knees Ina in the gut then hits forearms and a lariat. Masa comes in and backdrops Ina. Sugi then olympic slams Ina and wins it.

It went 18 minutes and was long with Inamura being in there for the majority of this. They didn't really go all out here and I didn't think they got the most of everyone despite having enough time. I'm never a fan of Inamura getting punked around and beaten up, but he sure was here by taking the fall.

GHC Martial Arts Rules - Masakatsu Funaki vs Josh Barnett

Funaki takes a leg kick and Funaki leglocks him. Funaki body scissors him. Josh goes for a kneebar and Funaki ropebreaks. Josh facelocks him and throws him back like a ddt. Funaki goes for a leg lock and Josh ropebreaks. Josh hits a hard palm strike then takes a stiff knee to the face.

Funaki guillotines him then Josh picks him up and slams him from that position. The ref then calls for the bell, giving Josh the win via knockout.

I wasn't a big fan of the first half of this as they didn't do a lot. It got better in the last few minutes before the sudden knockout. Shoot style is the hardest type of wrestling to do because it's so limited. Because of it, I think you should be stiff, keep the action moving and keep it short. A lot of wrestlers tend to think that going slow, doing little and having a long match is the best way to do shoot style, and I don't agree with it.

Josh challenges Funaki again after while his nose bleeds.

Kaito Kiyomiya and Ryohei Oiwa vs Yoshinari Ogawa and Zack Sabre Jr.

 

 

 

Oiwa's not wearing young lions gear anymore and he has hair cut. This is a total downgrade in my opinion. He looked great as is and now just looks like everyone else. Kaito poses on the buckles and is pulled down by Ogawa. If this was on an NJPW card, it would probably be the opener but Noah makes this a semi-main.

Zack and Kaito trade holds and stand off. Zack shoulders him over then drags him down off his leapfrog. Kaito cartwheels through a snapmare and armdrags him. Oiwa and Ogawa go at it. Oiwa side takes him over then Ogawa headscissors him.  Ogawa hammerlocks him.

Ogawa and Kaito get in. Ogawa shoulders him over then Kaito hits a nice dropkick. Kaito hits a jumping flashing elbow then forearm flurries him in the corner. Kaito is thrown into the buckles and flips over down to the floor. Zack sends him into the post outside then forearms and euros him in the seats. Zack twists his neck then stomps him. Zack bangs Kaito' knee off the mat then twists his arm in the hammerlock. Zack running facekicks him off the apron.

Zack and Ogawa walk around Kaito and twist his various limbs. Kaito crossbodies him then hits a sunset flip. Kaito then misses a crossbody. Ogawa throws Kaito out then Kaito slingshot sunset flips him. Ogawa holds the rope and the ref goes to kick his arm then Ogawa moves it, making the ref fall. Kaito's chest is banged off the apron then Zack puts him in a hold on the apron. Ogawa suplexes Kaito then Kaito hits a double dropkick on both opponents. Oiwa gets in and hits dropkicks then Oiwa shoulders him over. Oiwa slams Ogawa then splashes him.

Oiwa hits karelin's lifts on Ogawa. Zack hits euros on Oiwa when he gets in. Kaito gets in and 2nd rope twisting forearms Zack. Kaito top rope dropkicks him for 2. Kaito hits a euro flurry on Zack then is armwringered down. Kaito dropkicks Zack then Kaito's shoulder is thrown into the post. Ogawa chinbreakers Kaito then Kaito dragon screws him. Kaito figure fours him and Zack PK's him to help Ogawa turn it over.

Kaito flying shining wizards Ogawa then does a normal shining wizard for 2. Ogawa takes a double dropkick then Oiwa flying shoulders Zack off the apron. Kaito shining wizards Ogawa and wins it.

This went 24 minutes for some unknown reason. This was long and Kaito got beaten down like a young lion for a lot of this. Kaito also got the win over Ogawa, and not Zack here, which hardly did anything for him. I don't know what Noah was going for here but putting this as the semi-main made them look bad.

N-1 Victory 2023 Final - Kenoh vs Go Shiozaki

Go gives him a clean break early and Ken headscissors him. Go grabs his legs then Ken facelocks him. Ken facekicks him and pulls him over the top. Ken dropkicks him through the ropes. Ken sends him into the post and kicks him against it outside.  Ken 2nd rope double kneedrops him.

Ken kicks him while he's on his knees then takes a spin kick to the gut after chops. Ken trips him into a camel clutch. Ken double knee drops him. They trade forearms for kicks and Go flying shoulders him. Go hits machine gun chops then Ken kick flurries him in the corner. Go hits more chops and ridge hand chops him.

Go fisherman busters him. Ken legsweeps him into a double stomp on the back then hits double flying knees to the back of the head. Ken does a falcon arrow then takes a german. They then have a fun sequence then ends in a lariat. They trade chops for kicks. Go bolo punch flurries him then hits a sitout powerbomb for 2. Ken drops Go with a kick. Ken lifts him and kicks him in the body.

Ken walks the top rope and M. Bison stomps him. Go rolling cradles Ken around the ring then hits a go flasher. Ken is lariated over the top. Go suicide dives him then 2nd rope twisting suplexes him. Ken hits a stiff knee to the face and hits slaps, then is lariated. Go hits a top rope moonsault but Ken gets his knees up. Ken goes for the crossface but Go ropebreaks. Ken dragon suplexes him three times for 2.

Ken superkicks him and top rope double stomps him. Ken misses a top rope moonsault then is lariated. They trade chops for kicks. Ken does a back spinning high kick then buzzsaw kicks him. Ken slaps him while he's down. Go hits a forearm combo then running forearms him. Go hits an emerald flowsion for 2 and hits a top rope moonsault for the win.

I liked this one. They ended it at the right time and things didn't slow down until the end. They didn't overdo it and they worked it like a big match. It probably could have used another big spot to put it over the top, but it was a very good effort otherwise. Solid final.

Overall thoughts: A long show with a lot of matches and variety. The main delivered and some of the undercard matches were fun. I thought the Kaito tag and the Inamura tag ran long and I didn't like them being bullied around in both. We knew what we were getting with the women, the 4-way and the mma match and they were what you would expect. I don't think it's a must see show, but it has something for everyone and it was overall good.

N-1 Victory thoughts: I wasn't a fan of the N-1 Victory. Big names like Sugiura, Marufuji and Kaito were out. Jack Morris, Timothy Thatcher, Yuki Yoshioka and Jake Lee bored me to death. Yuma Anzai had the same match 8 times. Kenoh underperformed and Katsuhiko Nakajima was not putting anyone over but himself. Wagner Jr. had a decent tournament, Soya was pretty good all throughout and Lance Anoai' really impressed me. It didn't have the interference and shenanigans of the G-1, which I appreciated, though it didn't have the high points of it either. So far, I'd say the Stardom 5 Star Grand Prix was the best of all of these tournaments.

Tony Khan does an announcement and said he has fired Phil Brooks (CM Punk) for cause. He said it happened due to an incident last weekend and it endangered staff. He said he has never felt his security and life was in danger until that. He said it was a hard choice but came by legal council and a discipline committee. Tony says they will have a great show and a great PPV tomorrow. He says this is the greatest week in AEW history and last week was the greatest weekend in AEW history.

I'll never take AEW's word for anything like this after the MJF worked shoot incident during Double or Nothing. Tomorrow's PPV has zero interest going into it and I think something like this could be used to jump start interest.

Tony Schiavone is in the ring and talks about Ricky Starks challenging Ricky Steamboat to a strap match. Starks comes out with Big Bill. He said he constantly has to start over in AEW and always has to overcome obstacles. He tells Big Bill he believes in him and himself. He talks about not being at All In and says he is challenging Steamboat so he doesn't get left out. He said he wants an answer from Steamboat right now.

Ricky Steamboat comes out. He says Starks took cheap shots onhim but he never complained about it on social media. He said he had a contract written up and shows it to Starks. He tells him to sign it and he does. It says "The Dragon" on it. Steamboat says everyone knows him as The Dragon, but they also know this guy and American Dragon Bryan Danielson comes out. Bryan then signs the contract. Starks says if this is the bed he's laying in, he will make himself real comfortable. Steamboat said he just wanted to make sure he got what he wanted and Starks leaves.

As of like 2 months ago, Danielson was a heel. Now he's a face I guess without explanation. How is that going to work with the BCC? I'm not really surprised by this angle as we all knew Steamboat probably wasn't wrestling.

Jon Moxley does a promo. He talks about Orange Cassidy and calls him a cosplay wrestler, though he doesn't know who he is cosplaying. Mox says at his level, you always have a big match coming up and says there's always tomorrow. Mox says the chance to fight him only comes once in a lifetime because OC is on the run of a lifetime. He says OC looks like the real thing and says we will find out. He said he will test him and says when it gets hard, it will get real hard. He said he hopes he will not be looking for a way out. He says lots of believe in OC and says not to disappoint us.

AEW Trios Titles - The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn vs 2.0 and Daniel Garcia

Bowens hits punches on Parker then drops him with a shot. Garcia drops Gunn then does his dance. He dances more and tells him to suck it. Gunn pops him in the face then grinds his crotch in his face. Garcia takes a double back elbow and a double elbow drop. Bowens takes a double stun gun then a piledriver and a double lifting ddt. Garcia then sharpshooters Bowens.

We go to break and return. Bowens fights his way out of the corner then is tripped. Bowens enzugiri's Garcia and hot tags in Max. Max beats up the heels then lariats Garcia over the top. He plancha's Garcia then hits a top rope crossbody for 2. Garcia hits a uranage then Max flying lariats Menard. Gunn gets in adn throws Parker and Garcia out. Gunn nails Jake Hager on the apron then hits a fameassers on Menard. Bowens hits the arrival on Menard then Max top rope elbow drops Menard for the win.

It was an okay trios match and there wasn't anything wrong with it. I don't think anyone really thought the ex-JAS guys were winning here.

Lexi Nair interviews The Dark Order. Silver asks Cole, "what you want, son?". Silver said Cole threw their friendship away to team with MJF. Alex Reynolds said he helped train MJF. He said he is proud of him but said he didn't take his own advice and didn't do what it took to win. Alex says they need the tag titles more than Cole and MJF do so they can shut people up. They said they will do whatever it takes to beat them because they have to.

Ricky Starks is interviewed by Tony Schiavone in the back. Starks says once again, he will knock every obstacle they throw at him out of the park. He says he will show he is who he says he is tomorrow.

Aussie Open vs Komander and Nick Wayne

Kom = Komander

Mark shoulders over Nick. Mark is thrown over the top then Nick headscissors Kyle. Nick euros him in the air then Kyle takes a double dropkick. Kyle hits a spinning slam on Kom then Mark misses a senton. Kom does a handspring then various backflis. Komander then does an octopus on him in the air.

Kom springboards and takes a powerbomb from Kyle. Nick is then thrown into a Kyle kick and Kom is thrown into a 2nd rope Kyle cutter for 2. Nick flying euros Kyle and shotgun dropkicks Mark out. Kyle hits a standing shiranui on Kyle then tope con hilo's Mark. Nick top rope frogsplashes Kyle for 2.

Kyle dragon suplexes Nick. Kom springboards and is spinebustered by Mark. Mark then pulls him into a piledriver. Nick takes a sandwich forearm and gets some kicks in on the heels. Nick blind springboards and is caught and hit with the coriolis for the Aussie Open win.

It was a quick one that kind of bordered on being a longer squash due to being so one sided. This was pretty random.

Tony Schiavone interviews Nick. Nick says he is frustrated and frustrated more at Darby for forgiving AR Fox. Darby then comes down the ramp on a mic. Darby said he burnt a bridge with Nick's dad and never got to make things right. He said because of this, he had to let things go with AR Fox. He asks Nick to let the hate go. He asks Nick to be in his corner when he fights for the TNT title.

Christian and Luchasaurus comes out. Christian said he forgot to ask Nick what his mom's name is and said he should slide into her DM's and change it. He says Darby should stop pretending to be things he is not. He tells Nick to bring a towel with him to ringside tomorrow as he will need to use is to throw it in. Christian says tomorrow's match will be a massacre and says they will be standing on top of the mountain tomorrow night.

Claudio and Yuta do a promo from Dynamite last Wednesday. He congratulates Wddie for beating Yuta then says they beat Yuta every day of the week. Claudio hits euros on Yuta and says he doesn't stay down when he goes down, he gets up unlike Eddie.  Claudio said he thought Eddie would come back from Japan a better man but has not. He said he thought he couldn't lose any more respect for him when he was crying like a little girl and shaking, meeting Japanese wrestlers. Claudio leaves and Yuta falls over.

Eddie Kingston and Katsuyori Shibata then talk. Eddie isn't impressed and says they have to deal with him and Shibata at All Out. Eddie says Caludio won't fight him again. Shibata then uses a translator app on his phone and says they both suck.

Saraya and Ruby Soho are interviewed. Saraya tells Lexi not to be ugly when she asks about the issues between Saraya and Toni. Saraya says she's awesome and says she doesn't like smelling the breath of people in Chicago. Ruby says Kris Statlander never beat her in AEw and she's not worried about it. Ruby says they will bring two titles back to The Outcasts tomorrow. Lexi asks about Toni. Ruby says she will be fine, though she's half naked and throwing shoes at birds in the parking lot. Ruby said she will walk home the TBS champ tomorrow.

Toni Schiavone brings out Dennis Rodman. Rodman has tattoos on his face now and looks such a mess. Tony asks what he's doing here then Jeff Jarrett's music hits. Jeff and his crew come out. Jeff says it's great for all of the legends to be back tonight. He says we all have something in common with Singh being a great basketball player too and says Lethal and Rodman were champs since day one. He said Dutt strives for world peace and so does Rodman. He said his wife Karen looks great in a dress and so does Rodman.

He says they were members of one of the greatest factions of all time and says it was too sweet and for life. Jeff asks Rodman to join them. Rodman says he's glad the fans are loving AEW wrestling and Jeff says don't make Singh dunk on him like the Utah Jazz did in 1998. Rodman says Shaq was as big as Singh and he whooped his @ss. Dutt asks his crew to exit the ring and asks him to join. Dutt has a shirt with him on it. rodman grabs Dutt and throws him down with a nodowa-otoshi. The Acclaimed then come out. They challenge them to a 6-man tag. Billy grabs the mic and says there is no way he is wrestling twice in one night because it's beyond his old age spectrum. He says he has nothing to do tomorrow though anbd says they can fight for the trios titles tomorrow with Dennis Rodman in The Acclaimed's corner.

Rodman talked funny here. I don't like Rodman already attacking Dutt, as that's supposed to be the high point of this and would be something that should happen at the end of the PPV match.

We get a replay of the Shane Taylor video that we either saw on AEW or ROH.

Samoa Joe does a promo. He says in times of turmoil, the jackals come out to feast. Joe says he has a simple tale tomorrow. He says Shane hopes he will give the best performance of his life tomorrow but will wish he wasn't standing there against him. He says Shane will wish he will stop hitting him tomorrow. He says Shane hopes he will knock him out but we will wiush he never put his name in his mouth. He says he will make an example of him and make it clear who is the true king of TV. He says he will be the man who is standing over him, instead of the man who is standing ahead of him tomorrow. This was a really good promo by Joe.

The Outcasts vs Britt Baker, Kris Statlander and Hikaru Shida

Kris pushes over Toni. Toni tries to crossbody her but is caught and slammed. Toni stomps on her in the corner and is shotgun dropkicked into the buckles. Britt slingblades Toni then Ruby and Shida go at it. Shida forearms her then Ruby pulls her down by the hair.

We go to break and return. Shida and Toni trade shots then Shida step up enzugiri's her. Kris lariats Saraya then forearms Ruby off the apron. Kri knees Saraya in the side of the head then hits a blue thunder bomb for 2. Saraya rolls up Kris then Kris high kicks her. Everyone gets in and gets a move in then Kris powerslams Saraya. Toni accidentally elbow drops Saraya. Ruby and Britt trade shots. Britt swinging neckbreakers her then is spray painted in the face. Ruby hits her kick on Britt and gets the win.

It had the usual lame cheating ending that The Outcasts have done a million times now. The match wasn't that bad though otherwise with them not blowing much and keeping the pace up.

Adam Cole does a promo. He said he knows Silver and Reynolds well but they aren't better than him and MJF. Cole then says he has something to say in behalf on MJF. MJF says Silver is the size of a dollar store garden gnome and Cole won't read the rest. Cole says he will see them on Sunday.

Kris Statlander is interviewed by Lexi. she says she's not feeling too great and says Ruby couldn't get the win without help. She says she won't fall for it tomorrow. Ruby and Saraya then come in. Saraya calls her a stupid b!tch and says she will see her tomorrow. Kris then says the same thing.

Powerhouse Hobbs vs GPA

Yes, that's really his name. Wrestling in 2023 sucks. Hobbs splashes him in the corner then spinebusters him for the win.

Miro's music hits then he heads into the ring. They trade punches and Hobbs is lariated over the top. Hobbs pulls him out and throws him into the steps. Hobbs is thrown over the rail and walks away.

We get a video on Don Callis and Kenny Omega.

Orange Cassidy does a promo and says he doesn't like this. He says the match on Sunday is everything he has been working for. He said he proved himself against Pac and Osperay in Chicago and says this Sunday, it's Jon Moxley. He says he will take the weight off of Mox and put it on his shoulder. He then says he does not have a catch phrase in what seems to be a new stupid catchphrase.

Jay White vs Dax Harwood

Dax backs him up in the corner. Jay chops him and then goes outside. Jay side headlocks him then Dax chops him over. Jay rolls out again. We go to break and return. They fight up top and Jay drops him from the suplex position. Jay underhook suplexes him into the buckles. Bullet Club goes for a cheapshot and Cash backs them off with a chair.

They each hit chops inside and Dax is ddt'd. Dax back rolls him then 2nd rope twisting crossbodies him for 2. Jay hits chops on Dax then Dax lariats him. Dax top rope superplexes Jay then misses a top rope headbutt. We go to another break.

We return from break and Jay hits chops. Dax germans Jay twice then brainbusters him for 2. Jay rolls out and goes over the rail. Dax grabs him and chops him. Dax chops him on the apron then chops him outside. Jay dragon screws him over the middle rope and backdrops him. Jay death valley drivers him for 2.

Jay lariats Dax then Dax knocks him over with one. Dax piledrivers Jay for 2. Dax goes for a 2nd rope crossbody but Jay rolls over on him. Dax is thrown shoulder first into the post then uranage'd. Jay hits a suplex on Dax then Dax slingshot sitout powerbombs him for 2. Dax sharpshooters him and Jay ropebreaks. Jay is pulled out of the ring by his friends. Jay then hits a blade runner on Dax on the floor. Dax is thrown in then cradles Jay. Jay hits another blade runner and wins it.

The match was okay but nothing that special. The finishing sequence wasn't very good and I didn't really understand what they were going for.

Unfortunately my feed cut out as The Bullet Club had Cadh surrounded. the Young Bukcks apparently made the save. The Bucks tried to shake hands with FTR but they wouldn't do it.

Overall thoughts: I said last week that it seemed like Collision was on the path to becoming Rampage and this just furthered that thought here. The strongest match on the show was Jay vs Dax and that's hardly a main event. I'm sure whatever the Punk stuff is about messed this up some but it wouldn't have been a much better card even if he was on it. It was not a strong show and didn't do that much to make you excited for the less than stellar PPV tomorrow night.

ROH Tag Titles - Aussie Open (c) vs MJF and Adam Cole

Cole and MJF are jumped as they enter then thrown out. Their backs are rammed into each other outside. Mark slaps a chinlock on. Mark sentons MJF then MJF teases a kangaroo kick. Mark is tripped into Kyle's crotch then MJF tags out. Cole hits a pump kick on Mark then lariats Kyle. Cole backcrackers Kyle then hits a big superkick.

Cole and MJF call for the double clothesline. Cole is double superkicked outside then MJF is thrown into a kick. MJF is held up for a 2nd rope cutter from Kyle. MJF does a kangaroo kick then Cole and MJF hit the double clothesline and win the match.

This was really short and there wasn't a lot to it. MJF and Cole was as expected here.

FTW Title - Jack Perry (c) vs Hook

Jack is thrown over the car and thrown into the door of it along with having his head banged off of it. Jack brainbusters Hook on the car then does a rolling thunder on the car. Hook the suplexes him on the windshield for 2. Hook is pushed into the post back first then takes a bridging ddt from the rails.

Jack germans Hook three times then superkicks him. Hook germans him for 2. Hook exploders him into the buckles then Jack tiger drivers him. Jack misses a top rope moonsault and is flipped with a lariat. Hook hits him with a trash can and taps him out with a red rum.

I'm not a fan of a match with moves starting out on a car. You know, if you get suplexed on a car, you should probably be done, but then they just kept going. This was also short.

Real World's Championship - CM Punk (c) vs Samoa Joe

Punk hits chops early and evades Joe's chops. Joe backdrops him out of the side headlock then Joe chops him as he hangs off the apron. Joe chops him more outside then chops him inside as Punk sits on the middle rope. Punk 2nd rope hurricanrana's him then Joe moves on his plancha attempt. Joe then facewash kicks him outside against the rails.

Joe oges into the post outside and catches Punk's hurricanrana off the apron. Joe then swings him into the front of the commentators desk, and he breaks through it. Punk is bleeding and Joe punches the cut.

Joe hits more punches and chops inside then Joe back elbows him. Punk hits forearms then takes an enzugiri in the corner.  Joe atomic drops him then facekicks and sentons him. Punk drops him with a high kick then hits shoulders. Punk blue thunders him and does Cena and Hogan taunts before legdropping him. Joe then does Hogan's finger point and powerslams him for 2.

Punk goes for a step up knee and is powerbombed. Joe STF's him and Punk drops him with a high kick. Punk puts Joe in a spinning toe hold then Joe cradles him. Joe corner uranages him then Punk bites him up top. Punk hits a top rope pepsi plunge and wins it.

I always thought the Punk/Joe matches were overhyped and more notable for how long they went than what they did. It was an okay match, but I would not call it a class or memorable. It didn't go very long and they spent a decent amount of time screwing around.

Jay White, Juice Robinson and Konosuke Takeshita vs Kenny Omega, Adam Page and Kota Ibushi

KT = Konosuke Takeshita

Page shoulders over Juice then running facekicks him. Kenny double axe handles Juice's arm off the 2nd rope. Juice takes chops from Kenny and Page. Jay and Ibushi go at it. Jay shoulders over Ibushi and Ibushi kips up. They trade forearms and Jay is dropped with one. Jay takes a kick to the chest then an over the back leapfrog bulldog by Kenny.

KT pulls Ibushi over the top. Kenny hurricanrana's KT out and tope con hilos KT and Jay. Kenny misses a top rope crossbody and is stomped by his opponents. Kota and KT trade forearms then KT flying clotheslines Kenny. Juice suplexes Kenny then sentons him. Kenny suplexes him and flips over him in the corner. Kenny goes for the tag but The Gunn's pull Kenny's partners away.

Page springboard lariats Juice on the apron then does a fallaway slam to Jay. Page plancha's Juice and lariats Jay over the top. Page then topes Juice and Jay then top rope lariats Jay. Jay is popped up into slaps and a kick from Ibushi. Ibushi then hits a standing moonsault for 2. Kenny and Ibushi try to do stereo asai moonsaults outside but Ibushi slips during it. Jay is 3v1'd and popped up into german. Ibushi then half-nelson suplexes him.

Ibushi pumping knees Jay then takes a uranage. KT and Kenny trade forearms then Kenny pumping knees him. Kenny snap dragon's Juice and Jay. KT hits a blue thunder on him for 2. Kenny poisonrana's him. The Elite hit a sequence with Kenny hitting a moonsault on Jay and Page hitting a top rope flipping slam on KT. Page beats The Gunns off the apron then top rope moonsaults them. Jay cobra clutch suplexes Page then everyone starts hitting a move.

Kota goes for a kamigoye and KT jumping knees him. Page buckshot lariats KT in the back of the head then Kenny pumping knees Jay and Juice. Kenny pumping knees Jay against the ropes then KT rolls up Kenny to win.

It was fast paced and people constantly came in and out here. If you were looking for Kenny to be mad at Bullet Club and Takeshita for attacking him, he wrestled this like any other match. There were lots of flips and indy moves here.

AEW Tag Titles - FTR (c) vs The Young Bucks

One of the Bucks uses a rope to flip out of a wristlock. Dax then headlock takeovers him. Cash shoulders over Nick then is hiptossed and slammed by him. Nick jumps over and gets powerslammed then Cash is dropped into a legdrop on Nick. Cash and Nick hit hurricanrana's, pound on their opponent then double hockey fights break out. FTR hit lariats and all 4 go down. The Bucks kip up and they hockey fight again.

FTR takes dropkicks then are stereo lariated over the top. Cash takes a spear on the floor then Nick corkscrew dives over the top on FTR. Cash takes a double superkick then is bridge over the 2nd rope and top ropw swanton'd. Cash takes a russian legsweep then a 2nd rope elbow drop from Matt.

Cash fights out of the corner. He sends Nick outside then backdrops Matt. Cash tries to tag out and Matt superkicks Dax off the apron. Matt then ddt's Cash for 2. Nick springboards and takes a Cash euro off of it. Dax gets in and hits punhes then suplexes one Buck on the other. Dax hits a lariat then triple germans. Matt northern lights suplexes him and keeps flipping to do more. Dax and Matt trade germans for northern lights suplexes and Dax cradles Matt. Dax 2nd rope twisting crossbodies Matt then Dax is northern lights suplexed for 2.

Nick enzugiri's Dax on the apron and springboards into a slingshot powerbomb. Dax sharpshooters Matt then Cash sharpshooters Nick on the apron. Nick does his slingshot facebuster then moonsaults onto Cash off the apron.

Dax tapes a top rope superplex then a Buck and Cash try to do top rope splashes but their opponents get their knees up. Nick high kicks Dax then a Buck takes a spike piledriver. Cash is knocked off the apron and then Dax takes superkicks from both. Dax takes a double superkick then a spike piledriver for 2. Nick topes out on Cash. The Bucks go for a BTE trigger but nail each other then Cash spears a Buck through the ropes to the floor. FTR hit a BTE trigger and of course double kiss Matt, then hit a shatter machine for 2.

Dax hits a superkick on a Buck then is body hurricanrana'd by Dax. Cash tries a rare springboard 450 but the Buck moves. Cash takes a BTE trigger for 2. The Bucks hit a shatter machine on Dax then BTE trigger Cash for 2. A Buck springboards into a shatter machine and is pinned by Cash.

It was a long match with a lot of complicated spots and them trying to have a 5 star match. It was your usual Bucks, maybe even less so with them not hitting some of the spots you would expect. I would shockingly maybe even say it was toned down from what they do on a usual episode of Dynamite. I neither loved it nor completely hated it. The crowd was not that into this, but it may have just been the issues of sound trying to travel through the stadium.

Stadium Stampede

S&O - Santana and Ortiz

There's too many people to list, so I'm not going to bother. Mox and the BCC came out in glasses and black suits. Mox had a duffle bag. They called Santana "Mike Santana". Best Friends wore denim vests. Everyone fought in the entrance aisle and brawled from the start. Chuck took a chair to the head and CC and Eddie paired off on the stage. Santana and Ortiz pair off in the ring and trade punches. Chuck hits Santana with a trash can then Eddie and CC hit punches. Chuck tope con hilos Ortiz and Santana. Trent 2nd rope moonsaults onto opponents who blocked it with trash cans.

Santana and Ortiz take chairs from Penta and Eddie/CC brawl to the back. Penta hits slingblades on S&0 as people fight in the back rooms. Penta does a chair backcracker on Santana then Mox cutters Penta. Mox double underhook ddt's Penta and grabs skewers. Penta puts the long skewers in Mox's head then Penta hits a made in Japan on him. Penta superkicks Mox. Eddie throws CC off some steps in the stands then Penta is powerbombed onto a chair. Penta then takes a piledriver on a chair.

OC does his pockets routine with Mix and is stabbed in the head with a fork. Mox bites OC then brainbusters him on a chair. Mox uses a barbed wire stick on trent and Chuck is suplexed on a rail in the parking lot. Ortiz hits Trent with a kendo stick, as does Mox. Yuta and CC beat up Eddie in the stands then Chuck uses an umbrella on them. Eddie pus the umbrella in Yuta's mouth.

Chuck hits CC with an umbrella again and OC is stabbed with the barbed wire stick. Yuta is backdropped on the bar then Eddie beats up a random security guy. Trent goes up top and is pulled down on a ladder that's bridged on the 2nd rope. Trent is powerbombed onto a ladder. Mox flips Trent onto a barbed wire board then Ortiz top rope splashes Trent for 2.

OC is sent into the rails then Mox piledrivers Trent on the steps. Ortiz stabs OC with a fork. Trent's mom arrives in a mercedes benz van. Momo kisses Trent's mom and Trent nails him. People have their heads banged off the van then CC is hit with a cookie tray with Trent's mom's cookies on it. Music hits and Penta comes back out with a chair. Penta and Santana get on a ladder in front of tables. The ladder collpases but Penta sunset bombs him off of it through tables.

Yuta is hugged by Best Friends then is beaten by all 3. Chuck hits a soul foot on Yuta then hits an awful waffle. Mox topes Chuck then CC giant swings OC. Chuck is suplexed on legos outside and Ortiz slips off the top on a top rope superplex. Ortiz is then superplexed through tables outside. OC hits an orange punch on CC for 2. OC duct tapes his hand and puts it in broken glass. Mox nails him before he can hit anyone though.

OC hits a ddt on Mox on broken glass then CC pop-up euros OC. Eddie Kingston comes out and chairs people with a barbred wire chair. Claudio gets it several times. Eddie spears Mox through a barbed wire table and OC orange punches CC with the glass dipped hand to win.

It was hardcore match. We didn't see half the people in this match at times due to them fighting elsewhere. There were lots of big spots as expected and everyone bled. OC of course had to get the pockets routine in here and we had to have comedy with Trent's mom. 

AEW Women's Title - Hikaru Shida (C) vs Saraya vs Toni Storm vs Britt Baker

 

The girls pair off and fight. Shida is double powerbombed then Britt hits forearms on both. Toni is put into Saray's armpit then Britt neckbreakers Saraya, forcing a ddt. Saraya knees Britt in the corner. Toni and Saraya try to pin Britt at the same time and argue over it. Shida then grabs them and bangs their heads together.

Shida jumping knees them in the corner then suplexes Saraya into Toni. Shida pounds on TOni in the corner then is brought down from the 2nd rope onto the apron. Toni hip attacks Shida off the apron then Britt slingblades Toni. Saraya superkicks Britt. Saraya's mom holds Britt for a shot then Toni accidentally nails her. Saraya gets mad at Toni and Saraya's mom tries to jump the rail at her. Britt is thrown into the rail and Shida is thrown into the steps.

Saraya and Toni trade chops then Toni hits mounted punches. Ruby Soho runs down to stop Toni from hurting Saraya. Toni nails Ruby and Ruby runs out. Shida top rope dropkicks Saraya then Britt fisherman's neckbreakers Shida. Britt superkicks Toni for 2. Saraya boots Toni then puts her in the queen angelito stretch. Britt curbstomps Toni while she is in the hold.

Shida pounds on Britt then forearms Saraya. Britt is then falcon arrow'd onto Toni. Shida top rope meteoras Saraya for 2. Shida hits a spinning knee to Page for 2. Britt puts lockjaws Shida then Saraya spray paints toni in the face. Saraya hits a nightcap on Toni and wins it.

Saraya winning was out of nowhere, just as Shida winning the title was. There was nothing to really build up to it and it was clear that it was just done to give her a big moment. The match wasn't that great with people coming in and out. It's just too hard to make these types of matches great. There were no big botches though.

Coffin Tag Team Match - Christian Cage & Swerve Strickland (w/Prince Nana) vs. Darby Allin & Sting

Swerve had rappers for his entrance and they were terrible. Sting and Darby did a video on the UK streets for their entrance.

All four men brawl inside to start. Swerve and Darby are thrown out then CC and Sting stare down. Sting lariats Swerve and puts Swerve into the rails. Sting has a cricket bat and hits Swerve and Nana with it. Darby has a jacket with thumbtacks on it and gives Sting one. They then hit splashes on Nana and Swerve in the corner. Darby has his neck pulled back hard over the top rope. Swerve and CC then hit spears.

CC duct tapes Darby's hands together. Darby does a no hands asai moonsault on CC then no hands tope con hilos Swerve. Sting then unties him. Sting spinebusters Swerve on the casket then Sting is thrown into the steps. CC stomps Darby then Darby shotgun dropkicks CC. Sting comes off the apron and splashes Swerve onto a table that doesn't break. Sting then legdrops him through it off the apron.

CC is seated in a chair outside and Darby top rope dropkicks him out of it. CC is put in a coffin as it's leaned on the apron but they can't close it. Luchasaurus then helps out and sends Sting into the rail. Lucha lawn darts Darby into the casket top. Nick Wayne hits Lucha with a skateboard then takes a headbutt. Lucha chokeslams Nick on the skateboard. Sting bangs Christian's head off the casket. Darby tries to top rope coffin drop Swerve on the outside but Swerve moves and he lands on it.

Sting splashes CC and Swerve at the same time in the corner then scorpion deathlocks CC. Swerve chairs Sting in the back and Sting just stairs at him. CC hits Sting in the crotch with the bat then Swerve top rope double stomps Sting. Swerve puts Sting in the casket then throws the bat in. Sting stops the casket from being closed with the bat. Swerve misses a 450 on Sting on the casket and lands on it. Darby hits CC with the TNT Title.

Sting scorpion deathdrops Swerve on the casket. Sting slams the casket on Swerve's arm then Darby top rope coffin drops the coffin on Swerve's back. Swerve is then put in the casket, despite his hair sticking out of it, and they give Sting and Darby the win.

Darby took a lot of nasty bumps here on the casket. It was pretty much all hardcore wrestling. It went longer than it needed to and was very spot heavy.

Chris Jericho vs Will Osperay

Sammy Guevara comes out with Jericho. Jericho sings his Judas song during his entrance. Jericho shoulders over will and he kips up. They slap each other and Will shotgun dropkicks him. Will hits a skytwister press off the top to the floor. Will then springboard forearms him. They trade chops and facekicks. They then facekick each other at the same time.

They trade forearms and Will chops him. Jericho springboard dropkicks him then does a stiff baseball slide to the back of Will's head while he's outside. Jericho release german suplexes Will on the apron. Jericho takes control for a bit then Will handspring back corkscrew kicks him. Will then does a standing ssp for 2.

Jericho hits a top rope hurricanrana. Jericho is hung over the top rope and Will ssp's him off the top. Will goes for an os cutter and Jericho hits a back cracker off of it. Jericho then codebreakers him. Will hook kicks him then does an os cutter for 2. Will goes for stormbreaker and Jericho turns it into a hurricanrana. Jericho boston crabs him then Will hits a standing spanish fly. Jericho either goes for an os cutter or a bad lionsault and just kind of does a springboard back bump.

Jericho and Will trade forearms. Jericho low blows Will form behind then hits a judas effect for 2. Will rolls up Jericho then powerbombs him for 2. Will hits a stormbreaker for 2. Will hits a hidden blade then a stormbreaker for the win.

It was long though they matched up a lot better than I expected. I expected a bad match but Jericho was pretty mobile here. It was odd as Will was going to be the face here but was the heel of the feud, and that messed things up.

Sammy tries to console Jericho after but Jericho walks away from him.

AEW World Trios Titles - No Holds Barred Match - The House Of Black  (c) vs. Billy Gunn & The Acclaimed

The HoB wore white and gold. Everyone brawls in and out of the ring to start. Black does a 2nd rope moonsault to the floor. Bowens brings Buddy's neck down over the top rope then Buddy does a big tope con hilo on The Acclaimed. Billy Gunn then teases diving but is blocked. Brody gets behind Billy then Brody topes everyone outside. BIlly teases a tope again and Julia Hart gets in the ring. She slaps Billy. Billy and Max open her legs and Bowens hits the 2nd rope crotch legdrop.

Bowens is popped up into a double knee then sent into Brody's forearm. They cut to Mercedes Mone watching the show. Brody tries to crossbody Billy against the rails but Billy moves. Billy puts a chair into Brody's head. Billy is pounded on 2v1 then hits a double clothesline. Billy hits corner splashes then throws out Buddy. Billy hits a cobra clutch slam then Bowens hits the arrival on Black.

Bowens is brought out over the top and everyone gets a move in. Bowens spinning forearms Buddy and is legswept int othe buckles. Bowens takes a triple team in the corner. Brody accidentally nails Buddy with a punch with a chain. Max lariata Brody over the top then Buddy takes two fameassers. Julia Hat pulls the ref out and Black spinning high kicks Billy for 2. Bowens hits the arrival on Brody then Max hits a mic drop for 2. Bowens superkicks Brody then Billy hits a fameasser on him. Bowens hits another arrival on him and Max top rope elbow drops Brody for the win.

It was okay but it did drag a little and wasn't super special.  Billy looked like he blew up a little here and it felt like they were running out of ideas towards the end. I'm not sure where the House of Black go from here.

The HoB's give The Acclaimed and Billy the tag titles after. Bowens said they promised the world's biggest scissor party and then scissored.

AEW Title - MJF vs Adam Cole

They both go out and put on shirts for their tag team. They trade headlock takeovers and headscissors. Cole drops down and MJF does a struat and gyration. MJF gets a "sportsmanship" chant going then eye pokes him on the handshake. Cole pump kicks MJF then hits an enzugiri and neckbreaker over the knee. MJF runs at Cole in the corner and Cole puts the ref in the way. Cole then pulls MJF into the middle rope. Cole pulls him down by the hair, MJF kips up then pulls him down by the hair.

Cole goes for the superkick and MJF gets some offense in. MJF bites him then rolls him into the buckles. MJF topes Cole then double stomps his arm off the buckles. They try pins on each other. Cole goes for a hurricanrana and is powerbombed down. MJF comes off the 2nd rope and gets superkicked. Cole hits a heatseeker piledriver over the 2nd rope on MJF. MJF is thrown into the steps then Cole brainbusters him on the steps. Cole tombstones MJF on the table and it doesn't break.

They trade forearms on their knees. Cole hits a pump kick and a canadian destroyer then MJF does a stupid sell where he mule kicks him before falling over. They call for the double clothesline for some reason then double clothesline each other. They then do a double pin and it is declared a draw.

Cole gets on the mic after and asks for 5 more minutes. MJF uses the f-word and says they are going for more than 5 minutes - until they have a winner.

Cole eye pokes him then knocks the ref over. MJF grabs a chair. They throw it to each other many times. Cole rpetends to be hit with it and lays down then MJF lays down with the chair around his head. Cole is shocked then MJF rolls him up. MJF hits the heatseeker piledriver then Cole straightjacket germans MJF on the apron. Cole hits a panama sunrise by jumping off the apron and hitting it on the floor. Of course that's only worth a 2 count. Cole then hits a panama sunrise on the ref.

Roderick Strong comes out and low blows MJF. Cole asks Strong what he's doing then Cole hits a panama sunrise. Cole hit a boom knee. Strong gives Cole the belt to hit MJF with. Cole teases hitting him with it then tells Strong to leave. MJF then rolls up Cole and wins it.

They did way too much here, but they did a good job with the storytelling and bringing up various parts of their story together.

MJF tells Cole that it could have gone either way and the people still love him. MJF hands Cole the tag title belts they won earlier and Cole throws them. MJF calls him a fake and said he was never his friend. He then throws the belt at Cole and turns around, telling him to hit him with it and get it over with. Roderick Strong comes down to get Cole to do it but Cole refuses. They then hug it out as the confetti sprays and as The Kingdom holds back Roderick Strong.

Overall thoughts: The card was a little better in reality than it looked on paper but still wasn't great. They told a good story in the main but did too much. FTR/Bucks was a lot more tame than expected. Stadium Stampede was your basic hardcore match and the Page/Kenny/Ibushi vs Bullet Club match didn't impress. Jericho/Will was better than expected and the tag title match was short and not memorable. I also didn't think that Punk/Joe was that good.
