IWA Puerto Rico Impacto Total 5/9/2026

IWA Puerto Rico Impacto Total 5/9/2026

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2026/05/iwa-puerto-rico-impacto-total-522026.html

The next live event is on 5/16. It's called El Gran Festival de Lucha Libre. It has:

IWA World Title - Manu (c) vs El Gladiador Boricua

Super Atomo vs Pedro Portillo III

Pupe Jackson vs El Dragon Nihan

Jon Dave Rose vs Jose Navarro

2Hot4U Open Challenge

La Copa Alcaldesa de Loiza Rumble Boricua

---

We see clips of the Pedro Portillo III promo on Luis Perez.

IWA Puerto Rican Title - Super Atomo (c) vs Pierto Tenorio

PT is from Peru and is the PWA champ.

They lock up. PT side headlocks him then PT shoulders him over. SA leapfrogs then they armdrag each other. PT boots him off a lock up and clubs on him. SA hits chops. PT crossodies him for 2.

SA boots him in the gut then sitout torture rack bombs him for 2. PT hits kicks on him then ddt's him over the 2nd rope for 2. PT suplexes him for 2. SA hits punches then flying headscissors him. SA corkscrew kicks him. SA 2nd rope diving blockbusters him for 2.

We go to break. Savio Vega does a promo on Ricky Banderas. He asks if Ricky remembers which latrine Savio pulled him out of. He says Ricky's brain is fried and says he's no good. He says he brought him here to do a job but he failed. He says he was done with him a long time ago and won't waste time with anymore as he went to Mexico with a coward. He says he'll bring him back and says he needs to focus on El Dragon Nihan. He says on 6/6, Nihan will finish him off.  Vega says he will give him a negative blessing.

PT codebreakers him and twisting suplexes him for 2. PT springboards and SA counters with a coderbeaker to win.

Thoughts: It was a random one with no build, so we knew PT wasn't winning here. It didn't really get enough time and was just your usual juniors match. This wasn't a great way to debut Pierto nor was it a good way to make the PWA Title look strong.

El Wizard Analiza

2Hot4U are interviewed. Wiz is hyped for them winning the tag titles. Edrax says they are back and he's a 4x champ. Cesar says it's the return of greatness. He says they are issuing an open challenge to any team who wants a shot. Edrax says wrestlers from other planets can answer the challenge too.

IWA World Title - Special Guest Ref - Savio Vega: Manu (c) vs Slade Wolfborn

Vega holds the title up and SW takes it. Manu shoves SW. They lock up. Manu puts him in the corner and pushes him out. SW stalls outside. SW ducks a lock up inside then stalls more outside. Manu hits him from behind and chops him. SW is sent into the rails.

Manu hiptosses him and armdrags him into an armlock. SW ropebreaks. SW eye rakes him and stomps him in the corner. Manu boots him in the gut and SW back elbows him. SW throws him down by the arm for 2. SW snapmares and kicks him in the back.

Manu hits a big chop. SW pulls him into the ropes. Manu hits hard chops. SW eye rakes him then cutters him for 2. SW hits him with his crotch. Manu gets up and is mad. SW backs off. Manu hits more big chops.

Manu back body drops him. Many flying corner forearms him then flying forearms him for 2. SW grabs Vega and he low blows Manu. Vega does a very slow count for 2. A second ref runs in and complains about Vega's count. Vega hits the second ref and throws hi out. SW rolls up Manu with the tights and Vega slow counts again.

A third ref comes out and argues with Vega. The 3rd ref pokes him and get slapped and thrown out. SW piefaces Vega then Vega roundhouse kicks him. Manu sentons SW and wins.

Thoughts: It was a weird match. SW didn't get over as the face in the other match, so they had him be a heel here. But that meant Manu, who is usually the heel, had to get over as a face and that was a problem with Vega cheating to help him win. Vega cheating as the special ref is also getting a bit old. Manu hit a lot of hard chops here.

Mr. Iguana does a promo. He says they are coming to IWA PR soon so get ready.

Overall thoughts: Like last week's episode, it wasn't one of my more favorite IWA episodes. I'm not sure what happened but a bunch of new names were brought in and it was hard to get excited about various random matches while the usual crew was missing. There were only 2 new matches here and neither were that good. I'd give it a 4 out of 10 and would say it's below average. I wouldn't recommend this.
