AAA on Fox 6/20/2026

AAA on Fox 6/20/2026

Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2026/06/aaa-on-fox-6132026.html

We are in Merida, Mexico. JBL, Corey Graves and Rey Mysterio are on commentary.

We see various wrestlers arrive. El Grande Americano arrives with a duck.

Mini Vikingo vs El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. vs El Hijo del Vikingo vs Omos

Doc boots over Hijo Vik then boots and flurries him in the corner. Doc splashes him and dropkicks him in the back of the neck for 2. Hijo Vik enzugiri's him from the apron and sunset flips him for 2. Hijo Vik hooks his arm and clubs him. Doc pop-up powerslams him.

Mini and Hijo Vik go at it. Mini springboard tornillo's him. Hijo Vik pele kicks him. Omos chokes Mini on the ropes. Omos throws Mini. Omos hits elbow drops on Mini. Mini 2nd rope hurricanrana's Hijo Vik. Doc tags in. He hits lariats on Hijo Vik then flying lariats him.

Doc step up knees Hijo Vik in the corner then death valley drivers him for 2. Hijo Vik corner meteora's Doc. Omos bangs Doc's head off the steps. Mini springboard tornillo crucifix drivers Hijo Vik and pins him out of nowhere to win.

Thoughts: Mini winning was a surprise. It didn't really get enough time to play out and the four-way concept made it hard to get momentum going. I would have liked Hijo Vikingo to be rougher on Mini. This was just average.

Omos and Hijo Vikingo beat up Mini after. Doc tries to help out and is thrown out. Doc is sent into the post then lariats by Omos outside. Omos goes to use the steps on him. Galeno comes out and hits shots on Omos. Hijo Vikingo tries to plancha Galeno but is caught and slammed. Omos hits Galeno with the steps.

Dominik Mysterio does a promo and recaps some recent events. He says one thing stays the same in AAA and he's still AAA Mega champ. He says he's  the only one heading to Triple Mania as the main event and is still the king of the luchadores.

Psycho Clown talks in the back and I think he says he will put Psycho Circus back together.

We see a video on Laredo Kid and Rey Fenix.

AAA Cruiserweight Title - Rey Fenix (c) vs Laredo Kid vs Lince Dorado

Kid flying headscissors Rey into LD. Kid flying headscissors Rey. Kid michinoku drivers Rey for 2. Kid hits open hand shots on LD. LD is monkey flipped into a headscissors on Kid. LD dropkicks Rey out.

LD tilt-a-whirl backbreakers Kid and lariats him. LD rolls up Rey then Rey handspring back elbows him. Rey buckingham drops Kid for 2. Kid back body drops LD on the floor. Kid top rope moonsaults LD and Rey outside.

Kid northern lights suplexes LD for 2. LD rolls up Kid for 2. Kid slaps LD. Kid 2nd rope corkscrew sentons LD for 2. LD lariats Kid then spinning heel kicks him. LD backcrackers Kid. LD hits moonsaults on Kid. LD top rope moonsaults and Kid gets his feet up. Rey springboard diving armdrags LD and double stomps him.

Kid chops Rey. Rey ropewalk kicks Kid. Rey double jump plancha's LD outside. Rey death valley drivers Kid for 2. Rey and LD trade chops. LD hits a handspring double cutter on his opponents. He gets a 2 count on Rey. Kid takes a double superkick. Rey and LD high kick each other at the same time and Kid hits a double canadian destroyer ddt on them for 2 counts.

Rey is up top and LD jumps off Kid's back to dropkick him. LD tope con hilos through the ropes onto Kid. LD top rope hurricanrana's Rey. LD is pushed off the top. Kid top rope splashes Rey but Rey gets his knees up. Rey springboard spin kicks Kid in the face then mexican muscle bsuers him for the win.

Thoughts:
It was all flying as expected here. They also overdid it as expected with people kicking out of canadian destroyer ddt's. It they shaved a few minutes off of this, I would have put it over.

Rey Mysterio is asked about Rey Fenix. Rey says Fenix wants to defend his title and Rey says they are trying to have him defend his title on the main WWE brands and NXT. Rey says Lola Vice will defend her NXT Women's Title vs La Hiedra in AAA. Rey says they are also close to bringing a former WWE champ to AAA who has not wrestled here before. He promises more information next week.

El Grande Americano comes out and gets a big entrance with a Mexican band. Grande hugs kids and fans. Grande says they did it together at Noche de los Grandes. He says they took down the other Grande kept the pride of Mexico. He says he didn't do alone and had help from his friends and people. He talks about the blind comedian helping him and Pimpi helping him. He then puts over Andrea for being on his side and says he loves her. He says this victory is for all of the fans.

Grande says he won Rey de Reyes and mask of Grande Americano Original and now he wants the AAA Mega Title.

Karmen Petrovic of NXT/Evolve comes out. She gets no reaction as expected, just confusion. Daga, Los Garza and Bronco Nima then surround Grande in black hoodies. Nima lariats Grande. Grande takes a group beating. Nima puts Grande on his shoulder and twisting drops him down. Nima's crew then show off Perros del Mal shirts. Karmen corkscrew kicks Grande in the head. The heels pose to close the show.

Thoughts: So for those who don't know, Perros del Mal were a big lucha heel/tweener faction in the early 2010's in Mexico. They started in CMLL, moved to AAA and later had their own promotion. They were big for a while but cooled off some overtime. When the leader of it, Perro Aguayo Jr. died, the group gradually ended because Perro really was the true face of it. Bringing them back is kind of comparable to like bringing D-Generation-X or the NWO back. It's a group everyone would know and a name that has some value. The only original member involved is Daga (who isn't new to AAA) and it's just them basically making a new version of a hit movie. This group is random and we will have to see how it plays out, but they could have done this better especially since some of the original members are still around. I wonder what this holds for OTM as Nima is here without his partner Lucian Price.

Overall thoughts: The opener needed more time and was just average. The 3-way was the high flying bout you would expect but they went too far with it and it got boring towards the end. El Grande Americano then talked to the crowd before he got jumped by the new Perros del Mal group. We'll see how it goes, but I'm not high on it so far. I'd give it a 5 out of 10 and would say it was average. The stuff going on outside of the ring was more notable than the stuff going in inside of it. I just didn't care all that much for the 2 matches we got and that hurt my rating.
