The last Collision is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2026/10/aew-collision-10102026-grand-slam-france.html

Note - This went up against WWE Main Event and WWE Evolve.

We are in Cleveland, OH. Excalibur, Walker Stewart and Tony Schiavone are on commentary.

The hosts talk to start the show.

Death Riders (Daniel Garcia, Gabe Kidd & Jon Moxley) vs Don Callis Family (Jake Doyle, Mark Davis & Wardlow)

Mark and DG lock up. Mark shoves him and DG shoves back. DG side headlocks him. DG takes a double shoulderblock then Mark and Jake pose on him. DG hits chops on Jake and Jake lariats him down.

Gabe and War go at it. Gabe hits chops and is shouldered over. War then shoulders DG over. Mox and War shoulder battle and Mox goes down twice. Mox slaps him then hits forearms. Mox headbutts him and War lariats him down. War boots Mox in the corner and foot chokes him.

Jake corner splashes Mox. Gabe and Jake lariat battle. Gabe drops him. Everyone comes in one by one for a move. DG sharpshooters Wardlow. We go to PiP break and return. Gabe hits Jake and Mark. Jake short arm lariats DG then DG lariats him down.

Mox and Mark trade forearms. Mox headbutts him and cutters him. Mox hits mounted corner punches. Mox facekicks him and lariats him. Mox chinlocks him and Mark backdrops him. Mox lariats him and Mark enzugiri's him. Mark lariats him down. Mox dropkicks Mark off the apron then Mox topes Mark. Mox double ddt's War and Jake outside.

Mark takes running corner lariats and Shafir gets one in. Gabe lariats Mark then Mox curbstomps Mark for 2. Gabe backdrops Jake. DG grabs War by the throat then War does it to him. Gabe lariats War over the top.

Mark lariats Mox. Mark gutwrench piledrivers Mox and pins him.

Thoughts: Mark beating Mox was a surprise. It was fine. It was almost all people throwing lariats and chops which is alright by me. Wardlow didn't get to do a ton here, but I assume he's taking it easy as he gets back into things.

Clockwork Carnage Qualifying Match - Adam Copeland vs. Josh Alexander

Cope and Josh trade some basic holds. Cope shoulders him over then hiptosses him. Cope dropkicks him. Josh hits Cope in the leg outside. Cope is dropped knee first on the steps. We go to PiP break and return.

Cope goes up and over and holds his knee. Josh spears his knee. Josh stomps the leg and is pushed out. Cope claymore kicks Josh.Josh and Cope trade forearms. Josh slaps him and faceshoves him. Cope then takes him down and hits him. Josh is lariated over the top. Cope baseball slides him.

Cope top rope crossbodies Josh's back. Cope impaler ddt's him. Josh blocks a spear and hits germans for 2. Josh ankle locks him. Josh is sent into the buckles. Cope goes into an exposed buckle and Josh spears him for 2.

Josh's head is banged off the buckles. Cope slingshot cutters him. Cope gets crotched up top. Josh is dropped face first on the exposed buckle then Cope spears him. Cope pins him.

Thoughts: Cope won as expected here. It was alright. It didn't go too long and wasn't too slow. I liked Josh doing some of Cope's moves here.

Cope puts Josh's earguards on after. Cope says the last few weeks have been difficult. He says after the ladder match at All Out, Christian Cage broke 3 ribs and had collapsed lung 5 minutes into the match.

Cope says Cage did it for his work ethic and the fans. He says he needed to do soul searching because of it. He says his face isn't on the posters of teenager's walls anymore. He says he's aging out and says 2027 will be his last year in wrestling. He says that's why he has to go for the AEW Title.

Thoughts: I've never been a big Edge/Cope fan. His matches have always been slower paced and not particularly exciting. He's also not really a character I ever resonated with. I'm not too torn up about him retiring.

Don Callis and Brian Cage interrupt. Don says it's been a great night for The Family as Mark Davis pinned Mox. He says Cope might think he won the battle tonight, but Don says he always wins the war. Don asks who he thinks he is. He says people like Cope don't decide on retirements, people like Don tells him how it's gonna be.

Don says he doesn't like Cope's chances of seeing 2027 or of seeing Clockwork Carnage. Cope then gets jumped by The Don Callis Family. Cage F-5's Cope. Konosuke Takeshita and The Conglomeration head to the ring to save cope. The heels back off.

We get a video on Clockwork Carnage.

KT running lariats him then Cage lariats him for 2. KT flying knees him. KT dragon sleepers him. Cage submits.

Thoughts: I didn't like it that much. They got more time than they really needed. That resulted in them doing bigger moves that weren't sold and the moves meant nothing. The dragon sleeper finish was random too.

United empire and The Brawling Birds are interviewed. Will says he dragged himself from Japan and he wants to see who wins in Clockwork Carnage. Will name drops Samoa Joe. Mike says he's ready for anyone including Will. The Birds talk. Idolo asks how you know to Ciampa if he thinks he can beat him. Will says they are here to show everyone the power of United Empire.

Sabin says AEW has the greatest tag division in the history of wrestling. Sabin says they want to prove they are the best by beating them. Alex says FTR beat The Bucks 3 out of 5 times and they want a title shot because of it. Alex says what if The Guns beat FTR 3 out of 5 times? Alex challenges them to a Best of 5 series. Alex says they should do Match 1 tonight.

Stokeley says no and says it's not happening in Cleveland. Stoke says The Guns had their shot at FTR years ago and disappeared. Stoke says this is a big money match and a dream match/series. He says there's no other place to kick it off than Wrestledream.

Thoughts: I didn't get this segment at all. FTR has a good case for a title shot and just agreed to a Best of 5 series instead with no title shot guaranteed. Meanwhile, The Guns have done nothing here because they haven't been around.

Adam Page's crew does a promo from Grand Slam Paris. Page asks what Swerve thinks he's doing. Page says Swerve tried to drag him through the same hell they have been through. Brody says what he did worked. Brody says they need Page's head in this if they want to be trios champs. Bandido says 2/3 falls means lucha tradition and means putting honor on the match. Reed top rope 450's inside and KO gets his knees up. Reed diving poisonrana's him from the top. Reed misses a top rope 450 and KO rainmakers him. KO pins him.

Thoughts: Reed didn't do much but big spots and KO didn't do a great job of selling  them. Reed would hit something big then KO would get right after. KO had some weird black stuff in his hair during this match that fell out.

We get a video on MJF being PWI's #1 in the PWI 500.

The New Level and Prince Nana do a promo. Kofi and Creed ask where Swerve is. Nana says Swerve has serious family business to take care of, but he sent a good friend to take his spot. Nana brings in an actor/comedian named Mojo Brookzz. Mojo talks about what he wants to do to Brody King. The New Level try to talk him out of it then head to the ring.

Creed says not to let personal issues with Swerve turn into personal issues with his friends.

Mone slaps Thek. Thek slaps back and is taken over. Thek bridges out of a lariat and sweeps her. Mone rolls her up for 2. They then go face to face. Thek takes corner spears from Mone and Lena. Thek boots her out of the corner. Thek slaps Lena. Meg shoulders Hart over when they get in. Meg leg chokes her over the ropes.

Hart superkicks Meg. Meg goes for a tarantula and SB dropkicks Meg on the ropes. Hart does a flying octopus to Meg then Thek and SB do the flying octopus to the other two opponents. Meg's team then hits triple side slams.

We go to PiP break and return. SB flying headscissors Meg. SB step up knees her on the ropes. Meg buckle bombs SB. SB takes facekicks from Meg and Lena then gets german'd by Meg. Mone meteora's SB for 2.

SB basement dropkicks Mone. Thek and Lena get in. Thek superkicks Lena in the gut and forearms her. Thek spinning headscissors Lena into the ropes. Thek facekicks Lena on the ropes. Thek top rope crossbodies Lena.

Thoughts: That's yet another loss for Divine Dominion. That team never used to lose and is now losing a lot. What we got was fine here. Thek and Mone was the best part of this. Hart and SB didn't offer a lot but their usual moves.

United Empire (Andrade El Idolo & Will Ospreay) vs Samoa Joe and Tomasso Ciampa

Thoughts: It was an alright tag. It wasn't Will and Idolo's best work or anything as they didn't do their big moves, but it was fine enough. It didn't really matter who won here.

Joe gives Will his title belt after. Will then checks on Idolo and helps him out.

Renee tries to interview The Death Riders in the back. Mox throws stuff around as he's mad about losing. Mox yells and says he's in a great deal of pain. Renee asks what kind of pain he is in and he says he can't tell the difference anymore. Shafir grabs Mox. She tells him the only way out is through. Mox says "through" and starts shoving people.

Thoughts: They did a lot of cartwheels and stuff here without actually hitting anything. It was mostly all superkicks and chops here. It was acceptable and Ric won as expected.

Nick says this is his celebration and he runs the music and pyro. He says the people don't need his music. He says Cleveland needs a reminder over how legendary his win was over Jericho. We then get a tribute video to it.

Thoughts: I wouldn't have had Britt take the fall here since she's just returning, though Dani got her first win in here. It was a bit random but fine.

The heels attack Hyan and Dani after. Queen Aminata comes out to chase the heels away with a belt.

We get an Ilja Dragunov teaser video, though they don't show his face.

Overall thoughts: It was a 3 hour special that went 3.5 hours. I'm glad I did not stay up to watch all of this. If they are going to run long, it's better if they just start early instead of running past 11:30PM. As always with these specials, there was a lot of stuff that probably could have been cut. The main focus here was building up Clockwork Carnage at WrestleDream. It's essentially a random match though, so there's only so much that can be done with it.

Wrestling wise, almost everything was fine here, though I didn't like Cage/Takeshita or Okada/Reed much. I would maybe say the opener was the best match here. I wouldn't say anyone gave their very best effort here as the PPV is this weekend and no one wanted to get hurt ahead of it. There was a ton of last minute matchmaking here with multiple matches being set up as they just didn't have a lot of time to set stuff up for the PPV. And to be honest with AEW pretty much having a set number of fans that doesn't change all that much, I don't know if it matters.

I'd give it a 6 out of 10 overall. There was a bunch of decent wrestling here and it was okay, just nothing was must see.
