WOW Women of Wrestling 3/9/2024 Season 4, Episode 26

Abilene Maverick comes out. She tells the crowd to be quiet and says she is the rightful champ. She said Beast said she was coming for what was hers. Ab says "she wasn't coming for what is hers", she's coming for what is mine. She said she's the best women's champ WOW has had and said she can't wait to see what excuse Beast has tonight.

The Beast comes out and gets in the ring. The refs hold Beast back as she argues with Ab.

Abilene Maverick says Beast can get to the back of the line. She says she doesn't owe her anything and she can get to the back of the line. The Beast says Ab will see who the top dog is when they go toe to toe in the ring.

No DQ - WOW Tag Titles - Miami's Sweet Heat (c) The Mother Truckers

The Truckers are holding chairs before this even starts.  Laurie chokes Holly as Lindsay beats up on Betty outside. Betty's head is banged off the apron then Holly is launched face and chest first onto chairs. The announcer's say that's called The Miami Express. MSH are thrown chairs and then The Truckers superkick the chairs in their faces. Holly jumps off of Betty's back to splash Lindsay then Lauri nails Holly with a trash can.

Lindsay hits Holly with the can and Laurie enzugiri's Betty. Laurie van terminators a trash can into Holly. Betty is foot choked by MSH in the corner. Betty takes a double shoulder from MSH. Lindsay cutters Betty.

A table is brought in as The Truckers are beat up on. Holly is put on a table then moves, causing Laurie to elbow drop the table. Holly then pins Laurie and wins it.

It was okay but not great. There was nothing wrong with it though. I think some of the drama was lost with all of the tag title changes lately and this didn't get a ton of build. The pace was also slower for this one.

David McLane interviews the Truckers after. Holly said she's proud of their mother-daughter tag team and says they are the first to win the tag titles. They then say "honk honk".

Adriana Gambino vs Sandy Shore

AG jumps Sandy from behind then Sandy sunset flips her. Sandy bulldogs her for 2. Sandy takes a stun gun and is thrown backwards. AG stands on her hair and pulls Sandy's arms. AG then does her split legged choke.

AG does a split leg drop on Sandy for 2. AG gets in front of Sandy and high kicks her over her shoulder. Sandy hits shots to the gut then AG hits knees to the gut. AG slams her for 2. AG lariats Sandy.

Sandy spin kicks her then takes a uraken. AG spinning neckbreakers her and gets the win.

This was short and not bad at all. AG's splits and flexibility was impressive here as usual.

AG pump kicks Crystal Waters after then throws Sandy out. 

The Classmaster vs Stephy Slays

Steph rolls and then hits dropkicks. Class backbreakers her then clubs her back. Samantha Smart hits Steph with her ruler and breaks it on her. Class snapmares her and hits kicks to the back and front.

Steph rolls her up for 2. Class slams and legdrops her for 2. Class puts her in a sleeper. Slays 2nd rope facebusters her for 2. Class boots her in the chest and wins it.

It was a short squash for the most part. Slays got a little in here but wasn't presented as a threat against Class. 

We get a package on The Beast. We see her relinquishing her title and getting revenge on Vicky Lynn McCoy, putting her through a table.

WOW World Title - Abilene Maverick (c) vs The Beast

Beast lariats her then corner splashes her. Ab jawbreakers her then Beast samoan drops her for 2. Beast spears the post when Ab moves. Ab flying knees her in the corner the headscissors her. Beast's neck is brought down over the top rope then Ab pounds on Beast. Ab stomps on her.

Beast headbutts Ab down then hits a world's strongest slam. Ab grabs onto the ropes to avoid Beast then Beast hits a big sitout powerbomb. Beast pins Ab and wins.

Ab tells the ref she got hit with something after. She points at Beast and another ref comes in. The ref finds brass knucks in Beast's outfit and the decision is reversed. Ab wins via DQ.

We didn't clearly see Ab put the brass knucks in Beast's clothes. We'll have to see if there's a replay on that one next week. It was a solid match with Beast getting the better of Ab, Ab using shortcuts to try and survive and somehow getting Beast DQ'd by planting brass knucks on her.

Overall thoughts: An important episode of WOW with two title matches. The opener was fine but missing something to get to the next level. Gambino had a good showing in her squash and they did a good job in the main. Class/Slays wasn't anything of note. I wouldn't recommend it, but it was a fun hour of WOW.
