Championship International Wrestling Ringside 3/14/2024 Season 1, Episode 5

From: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4rZ0vt-2tY

Michael Elgin and Kelvin Koko are interviewed. They are the new tag champs. Kelvin says it's his first title and said they are running things in the tag division. Elgin says it was clear who the best team was. He tells Malice they have unfinished business. He said he will have the world championship next time they see them.

CIW National Heavyweight Title - "Big Country" Kaiden Monahan vs "Man Beast" Hodari

We've got two super heavyweights here. They lock up and roll on the ropes. They shoulder battle and Hodari is splashed in the corner. Hodari crossbodies him for 2. KM goes out and Hodari bangs KM's head off the apron.

KM's head is banged off the post then he is choked on the rails. Hodari headbutts him outside and bangs his head off the post. Hodari knees him in the face then double axe handles his back. KM tries to slam him but he collpases under Hodari's weight. Hodari steps on him then sleepers him.

KM hits lariats then hits a big slam. KM low crossbodies him for 2. They lariat battle and then knock each other down. They trade shots then a fight breaks out behind them on the stage. Everyone ends up fighting outside and we get a double countout. More people then come out after to help break things up.

It was a decent heavyweight match. It could have been a little bit faster but they really knew how to work this one like two super heavy's.  I was rather impressed by it.

Kaiden Monahan is interviewed. He said it wasn't wild, it was crazy out there. He said his enemies are all about the numbers game and he isn't about that. He says Hodari and the rest of the locker room don't stand a chance against him then Hodari comes in. They fight and end the segment.

The Amish Assassins of Perry Mast and Melvin Graber are interviewed. Perry said he's upset and wants to get his hands on Andy Chene. He said Andy hit him and knocked him for a loop. Melvin said Andy is so scared of him he didn't even want to show up. Perry said he's going to squash Andy's head like a pumpkin.

The Amish Assassins (Perry Mast and Melvin Graber) vs The Corruption Unit (Rod Street and Frank Isaac Anderson)

Officer Rod Street said him and his partner will punch these losers in the face. He said his partner Andy Shane is out tonight and his partner will be Frank Isaac Anderson. He said he's the employee of the month at the health department and you better respect his authority.

Perry hits some shots on Rod in the corner and drops him with a wind-up gut punch. Rod takes a double back elbow and tags out. Melvin gabs FIA's suspendeds then FIA grabs his suspenders. The ref breaks it and both get snapped in the chest with it. Melvin hits a nice lariat on FIA then bangs his head off the buckles.

Perry throws FIA on a slam then misses an elbow drop. Rod gets in and claps Perry's ears. FIA chokes Perry on the ropes. Perry gets stomped by both opponents on a double team then is foot choked. FIA spits on Melvin and the ref has to stop Melvin from getting in.

Perry fights back on Rod then Rod boots him in the head. Rod pulls him down by the beard then FIA chokes Perry. Perry hits a big double clothesline.

Melvin gets the hot tag in and hits lariats on both. The Amish battering ram their opponents. FIA hits Melvin in the head with his briefcase while Perry is trying to set up a double team. FIA gets the pin.

This was legitimately better than almost anything you will see on TV. No, I'm not joking. The Amish Assassins are maybe the best face tag team in the US. Again, I am not joking. They had awesome babyface comebacks here and did a great hot tag. They also really knew how to work the crowd. They look the part. They act the part and I'm absolutely shocked and major props to them. The Corruption Unit were good heels too here doing the basics and I liked the finish of Melvin getting hit in the head with the briefcase. This was great stuff.

Overall thoughts: Just WOW. I expected nothing here but this was a good show. The Amish Assassins legitimately may be the best face tag team in the US and The Corruption Unit were good heels here. Monahan vs Hodari was a good hoss style match with them doing it better than some of the wrestlers on TV do. I liked the announcing here and the old school presentation as well. I recommend seeing this.
