ROH Women's TV Title Tournament Quarterfinals - Diamante vs Billie Starks

Dia takes her down and rolls over her. Dia back rolls then Billie sunset flips her. Dia hits mounted punches and tries to do a corner belly to belly but drops her on her head. Dia then corner dropkicks her.

Billie is thrown into the rail and Dia tells her to be humble. Billie jumps off the steps and hurricanrana's her, hitting her own head off the floor. Dia neckbreakers her over the bottom rope. Dia stomps on her and hits corner spears.

Billie is thrown backwards then Dia pulls on her arm and neck. Dia headscissors her into a russian legsweep. Dia splashes her for 2. Dia euros her then Billie hits boots out of the corner. Billie topes her three times then hits oblivion for 2. Dia hits shots and tells her its over. Billie then lariats her.

Billie goes up top and is hit. Billie pop-up drops her, which I think was botched. Billie hits a facekick then Dia cradles her for 2. Dia hits a chaos theory german for 2.

They trade forearms on their knees then get up and trade. They forearm each other on the ropes then Dia stunners her off the casadora. Dia then hits a shiranui for 2. Billie spinning high kicks her then hits a top rope swanton for 2. Billie then does a grounded chickenwing variation and submits Dia.

I thought it went too long and it's hard to put this over when there were 3 botches in it.  I also in general don't like it when opening matches go longer as it tires you out from the start.

Aaron Solo vs Lee Johnson

Solo shakes his hand but doesn't mean it. Lee kips down and up to escape a wristlock. Lee headlock takeovers him. Lee clean breaks and Solo mockingly shakes his hand again. Solo then goes out and shakes the fans hands. Solo then shakes the ref's hand.

Solo back elbows him on the ropes. Lee leapfrogs him then hits a big dropkick. Lee chops Solo. Lee goes up and over in the corner then Solo throws him throat first into the 2nd rope. Solo hits knees to the gut then suplexes him. Lee rolls him up then Solo exploders him.

Solo is thrown into the ropes throat first. Lee hits lariats then suplexes him. Lee then tope con hilos him outside. Lee blue thunders him for 2. Solo misses an enzugiri then corkscrew kicks him. Solo top rope double stomps him for 2. They try pin attempts on each other and Solo superkicks him. Lee hurricanrana's him then lawn darts him into the 2nd buckle. Lee then does an elevated reverse ddt to win it.

I thought it went longer than it needed to and wasn't that great. Solo did more here than we've ever really see him do, though Lee didn't do anything too out of the norm. Lee had a nice tope con hilo here. Solo stalled a bunch early with the handshakes.

Lee wants to shake hands after and kind of forces Solo to do it.

Kiera Hogan vs. Leyla Hirsch vs. Lady Frost vs. Robyn Renegade

RR takes a 3v1 to start. Hogan spanks her butt at her. Hogan rolls up LH for 2. LH hits armdrags on Hogan and Frost. Hogan forearms RR over then Hogan does her step up legdrop on Frost. RR pump kicks LH in the corner. RR half-nelson slams Hogan.

RR backcrackers Frost. LH stomps on RR in the corner. H goes up and over with a sleeper on her. Hogan leg kicks RR, making her stunner LH. Hogan and Frost push each other then all 4 girls trade forearms. LH and Frost take superkicks. RR pump kicks Hogan then Frost spin kicks RR. LH germans Frost then is superkicked by Hogan.

LH backdrops Kiega then pendulum dropkicks her in the corner. LH is dropkicked in the back by Frost then Frost does her forward cartwheel cannonball in the corner. RR does an inverted attitude adjustment on Frost. Hogan hip attacks RR on the ropes then high kicks her. Hogan spinning neckbreakers RR and wins it.

It was what you would expect with people coming and going and mostly 2 people only in there at once. There were no botches and they didn't do a bad job of it for the girls.

Cole Karter and Griff Garrison said this is the biggest match of their careers. They said Maria set them up and they will do their best. Maria says "their best?". She calls them baby boys. She said she felt others owned her career at her age. Maria says they own their career. Maria brought up Griff losing to Adam Copeland and said they haven't seen the inside of a Collision ring since. She said actions have consequences. Maria said these types of opportunities don't happen everyday. She said they are on the path to do great things.

She holds up a Serpentico mask and said this is proof of it. She asks if they are going to make her proud and if they won't disappoint her. She then says let's go.

This was actually a good promo here.

Athena vs Aisha

Athena drops her to start and pounds on her. Athena does a sloppy gordbuster then Aisha hits her with her butt. Aisha running kicks her in the corner then hip attacks her in the corner. They said Aisha has a prosthetic eye here. Aisha is pushed off the ropes then takes a baseball slide off the apron.

Athena clubs on Aisha then Athena throws her into the rails. Athena snapmares her and kicks her in the back. Aisha hip attacks her in the corner then spinebusters her for 2. Athena comes off the 2nd rope and codebreakers her. Athena hits a running forearm. Athena lays her over the 2nd rope and pendulum curb stomps her into the apron.

Athena running face kicks her then does a cobra twist with the legs tied up. Athena wins via submission.

Athena roughed up her jobber as usual here with sloppy offense. I really don't think you should be doing that stuff with someone with medical issues.

Athena running knees her into the steps after. She calls Aisha hot garbage and says this is the best Atlanta has to offer her. She says ATL isn't even good enough to wipe her @ss. She said she is the forever ROH champ. She said she puts her heart and soul into defending her title every week. She said she gives no names opportunities and gets nothing for it. She said she needs and deserves more. She said she is bored. She said she put ROH on the map and took it to new levels.

She said Supercard of Honor is weeks away and no one is lining up to fight her. She said everyone is so scared that they lined up for a second place tournament instead. She said she is dying for competition. She said she is opening every door and said everyone around the world can take her to the limit. She asks who it will be. Hikaru Shida then comes out wearing a suit and points her kendo stick at her. Athena then holds up the belt at her and they stare down.

I hated Athena ripping the TV Title tournament and ripping apart the locker room. 

Top Flight and Action Andretti vs. The Iron Savages and Jacked Jameson

Jacked gets on the mic before the match. He says they are sipping sauce and living hoss. They have purple gear that I don't know if I've seen before. Action gets on the mic to stop Jacked. Action said they have their action sauce but he has the hydration situation. Action then challenges Bronson to a chug off. Bronson drinks his, Action gives him a headstart then still beats him.

The Savages are pulled out then Top Flight and AA hit planchas outside. Dante spin kicks Bronson and flips over his back. AA handspring back elbows Bronson and JJ takes a double superkick. AA tries to crossbody Boulder but Boulder doesn't move. AA dropkicks Boulder into Bronson.

Darius sunset flips Bronson. Bronson then fire thunders AA + butt drops onto Darius for 2. JJ butt drops Darius' back then Boulder suplexes Darius. Boulder misses a 2nd rope moonsault. JJ takes a double boot from Darius in the corner then Darius does a flip kick on him. Dante gets in and hits shots on JJ.

Dante enzugiri's JJ from the apron then ropes Bronson outside. Dante springboard crossbodies JJ for 2. Darius uses Dante and tornado ddt's Boulder. Bronson shoulders over Dante. Bronson takes a shotgun dropkick into a german then JJ takes a pendulum double slam backwards. Darius topes Boulder. AA running ssp's JJ then Dante top rope frogsplashes JJ to win it.

It was a decent trios tag here with a fast pace and The Savages uses their power against Top Flight's speed.

Lexi interviews Lee Johnson. He said he's not here to take part, he's here to take over. He said 2024 has been looking good for him and he doesn't plan on slowing down. He says welcome to the Shotty Show.

Jacoby Watts & Nick Comoroto vs. The WorkHorsemen

Nick's team is hit before the bell. Henry kicks Watts from the apron. Nick chops JD then corner lariats him. Henry hits forearms on Nick then JD lariats Nick from the apron. JD slingshot swantons Nick. JD slams Nick then headbutt drops him.

JD eye pokes Nick then chops him. Nick picks up JD but Henry clips him from behind. Nick slingshots JD in then Henry backdrops Watts on the apron. JD belly to belly suplexes Nick then corner cannonballs him. JD spinebusters Nick then Henry top rope double stomps Nick. JD pins Nick.

It was pretty much a squash here though Nick got to defend himself a little. There was nothing to see here.

Watts helps up Nick after and shakes his hand. Watts holds up his book and offers to help Nick out of the ring. Watts calls Nick his brother. 

Lance Archer vs Darian Bengston

DB wristlocks him and back elbows him. Lance buckle bombs him then release suplexes him. Jake Roberts cheap shots DB outside. Lance hits a running corner elbow. DB hits forearms and chops. Lance hits a big lariat then chokeslams him. Lance then hits blackout for the win.

It was the usual quick squash here for Lance. These don't even help him at this point.

Lexi interviewed Taya Valkyrie. She asks what its like to be a boy mom in slamtown. She says The Boys are just adorable. Dalton Castle shows up climbing the walls. He says he knows they are here and can smell them. He throws stuff around and plays around behind the curtain. Taya said she knows The Boys better than he does and says he's not even fit to have Boys. Dalton calls her filth and asks where are they. Security then carries Dalton away.

Well, this was something different and better than a waste of time squash.

ROH Women's World Television Title Tournament Quarter Final Match - Mercedes Martinez vs. Abadon

MM says you might as well give the title to her right now. Ab hits MM on the handshake then hits corner lariats. She corner meteoras her then Ab cannonballs her off the apron. MM then drops her with a kick on the floor.

MM kicks her in the body and butterfly suplexes her sveral times. Ab spinning headscissors her then MM lariats her. MM does a nice grounded submission then Ab face kicks her. MM forearms her then Ab does a pendulum codebreaker her for 2.

Ab hits knees to the body then MM saito suplexes her. MM basement dropkicks her in the corner then does a single leg crab. AB hurricanrana's her then cutters her. MM running knees her on the apron. Ab hangs on the apron and takes kicks then MM bridging twisting neckbreakers her.

Ab bites MM's arm then does a float over ddt for 2. AB gets hit in the back by someone outside then MM fisherman busters Ab. MM then picks up the win.

It went longer than it needed to and had a slower pace. It started off well but then tailed off as it kept going on.

We find out after that Dia hit Ab in the back. Dia then walks up the ramp with MM.

Slim J vs. AR Fox vs. Komander vs. Jack Cartwheel

AR suicide dives J to start. Jack cartwheels into AR, knocking him off the apron. Jack cartwheerls out of a ddt. Jack then flagpole legsweeps Kom. Jack then does his slingshot corkscrew elbow drop. AR twisting suplexes Jack. J low blows Ar in the front of the ref, who doesn't care.

Jack hits shots on J. J does a neat rebound on the ropes and cartwheels into J, who again hits him in the nuts. J does a nice shiranui style cutter on Jack. J does his springboard reverse ddt move on Jack. J takes an enzugiri while sititng up top then AR iconoclasms him. AR then pulls him into a cutter.

AR ddt's Jack through the ropes then spinning double underhook ddt's him. Kom springboards onto them and stops it. Kom rolls up AR. Kom bangs J's head off the buckles then suplexes AR into J in the corner. AR does a torture rack gutbuster on AR then Jack does a cartwheel to break the pin up.

They trade shots on the 2nd rope. Jack flagpool legsweeps J then Kom top rope codebreakers Jack on the apron. J rolls up AR for 2 then J hits a great tope on Kom. J does a top rope diving reverse ddt for 2. J botches a tope and takes a bad landing. Jack cartwheels onto Kom then they cartwheel together up and down the stage. Kom then canadian destroyers Jack on the floor.

Kom is hit while up top. J gets crotched on the top rope and Kom boots him. Kom rope walk SSP's J and gets the win.

It was chaos as expected with lots of dives and fast paced action. Unfortunately, there were also clear low blows in front of the ref that the ref ignored. As always, Jack Cartwheel tows the line between stupid and creative genius, sometimes doing cool stuff that doesn't fit.

Eddie Kingston does a promo from a hotel room. He says Supercard of Honor is coming up. He says Mark Briscoe was supposed to get a title shot last year but got injured. Eddie says "why not?". He tells him to bring his people. He says him and Mark will show what the art of wrestling is. He says they will fight for the ROH Title because he respects him. He said Mark has been earning this shot for years and deserves it.

I didn't like this. Mark hasn't been on the show for 2 months and didn't earn a shot last year or this year, he just received it.

Cole Karter & Griff Garrison vs Best Friends (Orange Cassidy & Trent Beretta)

Maria and Chuck Taylor are seconds here. Trent shakes hands with Maria. Cole and OC trade armdrags. OC puts his hands in his pockets and monkey flips Cole. Trent running back elbows Cole then OC splashes Cole. Trent hiptosses Griff then kicks him in the back. Griff takes a double shoulder then a double suplex.

Griff's head is banged off the buckles. Maria distracts OC then Griff face kicks OC off the apron. OC takes a corner lariat from Griff. Cole suplexes OC. OC avoids a double team in the corner and makes the tag. Trent hits lariats on his opponents then Trent jumping double knee presses Cole. Trent hits germans on Griff then does a nasty release german on him. Trent plancha's Griff outside.

Best Friends go to hug and Maria gets in the way outside. Cole nails Trent from behind then backdrops him on the apron. Trent takes a boot + flapjack combo. Griff hits mounted forearms on Trent. Griff drops Trent on his chest from the backdrop position. Cole misses a top rope 450 on Trent. Griff takes a backdrop from OC.

OC does his weak kicks to both opponents. OC hits a double shotgun dropkick. OC top rope crossbodies Griff then tornado ddt's Cole for 2. Maria trips up OC and Griff spinning forearms OC. Trent superkicks OC then Cole dropkicks Trent. Cole dropkicks OC. Cole takes a nasty half-dragon release suplex the OC topes Griff. Maria gets on the apron and wants a hug from Trent. Trent then hugs Chuck then ddt's Cole. OC hits an orange punch on Cole and wins it.

It was your usual OC match with lots of shenanigans and comedy which I didn't like. I really didn't like it as well because Maria was treating this as a serious match that Griff and Cole needed to win. It also went pretty long here.

The SAP (Angelico and Serpentico) get in the ring after and beat up Griff and Cole. Serp grabs the mask that Maria had then Maria low blows Serp. Cole low blows Serp as well and Maria takes the mask. Best Friends get in and chase off Maria's crew. Best Friends and the SAP dance after. Trent and OC do Angelico's dance.

Overall thoughts: It was a long show. It was 2 hours straight with no breaks which is hard to sit through. The show started 30+ minutes late as well due to technical issues, so I had to sit through 2 hours and 30 minutes of this. There weren't many squashes which was good and everything got enough time. I didn't really love anything here but the Top Flight/Iron Savages trios match was okay. I hated OC goofing off as usual. I hated Athena's recklessness as usual as I hated her burying the roster as usual. I also didn't like Mark Briscoe being announced as Eddie's opponent in the title match at Supercard of Honor despite him not being on the show for months. Only two champs appeared on the show and only one of them wrestled. And with the PPV only being about 3 weeks away, we really only know that there will be a women's TV title tournament final match and Eddie vs Mark. I wouldn't recommend this one.
