North Pro Wrestling Season 1, Episode 1

Markus Burke welcomes us to the show. He said we will crown a new champ with an 8-Man Tournament that starts tonight.

"Moondog" Dylan Davis grabs the mic and said he thinks the crowd is chanting Burke sucks. He said he came to fight him and he showed up looking like cozy Uncle Burke. Burke says he will take that nickname. He says he's been on these roads for 18 years and said when he retired, Dylan decided to low blow him. He asks why does he want to fight him when they've been friends.

Dylan said Burke wanted him to do his best but didn't want him to do better than Burke. He said he will win the title and cover it in Burke's blood.

North Pro Wrestling Canadian Title Tournament 1st Round - Charlie Hubley vs Mike Marston

Mike throws him to start then they trade waistlocks. Charlie has leopard tights and a mullet. Charlie snapmares him and hits a kick to the back. Mike kips up, leapfrogs and lariats him. Mike corner lariats him then step up knees him in the corner.

They fight outside then Charlie is backdropped onto the apron. Charlie top rope twisting headbutts him and hits head off a light while doing it. Charlie then throws his jacket at the light. Charlie suplexes him for 2.

Mike hits uppercuts. Charlie tries to go up and over but is caught. Charlie rolls him up out of the tombstone position for 2 then single leg dropkicks him. Charlie chinlocks him then hits mounted forearm shots. Charlie comes off the 2nd rope and takes a super kick to the gut in mid-air.

They trade shots and Mike hits lariats. Charlie is pulled over the top rope then Mike suicide dives him outside. Mike does a pop-up samoan drop for 2. Charlie hip attacks him over the middle rope then neckbreakers him for 2. They fight up top and Mike gets crotched on the top rope.

Charlie does a flying hip attack on him in the corner then top rope elbow drops him for 2. Mike spinning lariats him then tombstones him. Mike then picks up the win.

It wasn't a bad match at all with Charlie being the heel and Mike making his comeback to win. Mike looks like a lost member of the House of Black but it's a decent look. He'd be better off with another name though to match his look. 

North Pro Wrestling Canadian Title Tournament 1st Round - Dick Durning vs Ad Hutchinson

Dick side headlocks him then Ad reverses it. Dick side headlock takeovers him then Ad single leg takedowns him. Ad gator rolls him from the front face lock and gets his back. Ad clubs him in the back then throws him out.

Dick is thrown into a brick wall and they trade shots outside. Ad puts a fan's sunglasses on then Dick is sent into the apron. Ad backdrops him on the apron and pie faces him. Dick is popped p then slammed down chest first. Ad sentons him then wheelbarrow germans him.

They trade chops and lariat each other. They then crossbody each other at the same time. Dick hits punches then flying forearms him. Ad gives him in the double middle finger, Dick spinning enzugiri's him then gives it right back to him. Dick bulldogs him into the 2nd buckle then slingshot split legged moonsaults him to win it.

I had no issues with it. Dick was beat up for a bit then made his comeback and won it. They didn't overdo it or anything and it was your basic pro wrestling match.

Overall thoughts: Not bad with both matches being acceptable. There was nothing must see here but there's worse half hours of wrestling out there. I don't know if I'd quite recommend it though.
