WWE Monday Night Raw 8/4/2025

We are in Brooklyn, NY. Michael Cole and Corey Graves are on commentary.

We see various wrestlers arrive. 

Seth Rollins comes out with his crew. Seth just won the title at Summerslam. Paul Heyman says he's the GOAT and our humble Oracle. He puts over his crew. He said normally he'd introduce us to the champ Roman Reigns, but Roman hasn't been champ for a year and a half now. He says Punk wasn't champ long enough to get his side plate put on the belt. He said Seth crashed the wedding and stole the honeymoon with the title, and she was good. Paul then intrdocues Seth.

Seth says shame on everyone who turned their back on him after he won the main event of Wrestlemania. He says to never doubt Seth Rollins again. Seth says Punk and Roman aren't the champ, he is. 

Seth says shame on the people in the back who tried to stop him from cashing in his MITB contract. He says he always has a plan B. He said his plan was secret. He said he only told his wife and his Oracle. He says they have absolute power and there's nobody who can stop them. He says this is the way forward, this is The Vision.

LA Knight comes out, after mysteriously being off TV and Summerslam. He congratulates Seth and calls Bron and Reed morons. He says he's here to answer questions. He said Seth faked the injury not to get the title but to get out of their match. He said he didn't get to hurt him the way he wanted. LA said he got the 3 count and that's where things get interesting.

LA said he took a vacation and saw what Seth did, so he said he had to get to Brooklyn. He says he was the last one to beat him and will be the next one to beat him. He said he wanted to hurt him bad before but will take the title off of him next time. He says there's no better place than here and now to do it. 

Seth says LA has guts. He asks if LA thinks he doesn't have the balls and hypes it up. He says no to having a match though and goes to leave.

Adam Pearces comes out. He says normally he wouldn't make a title match with no promotion. He says normally, a star wouldn't have his medical team lie to his medical team. He says normally a wrestler wouldn't lie to his GM or the universe. Adam says to hell with normal and says it will be Seth vs LA in a title match tonight.

He says since Seth stole a great moment from the people at Summerslam, he will steal one from him. He says Reed and Breakker are banned from ringside and that's official. 

The Judgment Day talk in the back. Raquel tells Perez they should go regroup. The men run into The LWO. Lee says if they want to earn respect, then let's have a match tonight. The Judgment Day agree.

AJ Styles walks in. He says he won't slap Dom around yet. He says what Dom did was clever. He says he's still coming after the IC Title and he's coming after him as long as he has it. He says he will run out tricks and he's one of the best. He says time is running out and it's a friendly reminder. Dom says it's running out cause AJ is getting old.

Rusev vs Sheamus

This is Round 3 for these two. Sheamus runs to the ring. Rusev pounds on him. Rusev hits shots in the corner then Sheamus fires back. Rusev hits mounted shots then Sheamus hits mounted shots. Sheamus blocks a hiptoss and hits a lariat.

Rusev is lariated over the top. Sheamus comes off the apron and is kicked. Sheamus is then sent into the rail. Rusev overhead suplexes him. Rusev boots him in the face and elbow drops him. Rusev foot chokes him. They trade shots. Rusev knees him in the gut. Rusev is up top and gets hit. Sheamus hits a 2nd rope air raid crash. We go to break and return.

Rusev hits kicks to the chest. Sheamus tells him to come on. Sheamuts hits shots and uranage backbreakers him. Sheamus knocks him to the apron. Rusev pulls Sheamus' throat down over the top rope. Sheamus is then sent into the post. Sheamus slams Rusev on the commentary table.

Sheamus is sent into the steps. Rusev climbs on Sheamus' chest over the rail. Sheamus then does it to him. They then go to a double countout.

Thoughts: We've seen this three times now. We know what to expect - a whole lot of clubbering and striking. It was alright but the match-up. hasn't been as good as it could be.

Security comes out and Rusev nails Sheamus with the steps. Sheamus pump kicks him then hits mounted shots as security tries to break it. They then fight more.

The New Day are in the back wearing goofy clothing. Woods has a gigantic hat on. Grayson Waller says he knows The New Day was letting him learn a lesson on his own last week. The New Day say they are still mourning. Woods says they aren't in the state of mind to face anyone and won't be until they get their tag titles back.

Waller goes up to Pearce, who is talking to Penta. Waller says to give New Day a tag title rematch. Pearce says to tell New Day that they can have a match when they earn it. Pearce says Waller has earned a match for Penta. Penta then does his taunt in Waller's face.  Waller called himself "Big G" during this segment.

Penta vs Grayson Waller

Gw shoves him off the lock up. GW ducks a headlock and struts. GW side headlocks him. GW drops down and Penta struts on him. Penta flying headscissors him. GW goes out and The New Day come out.

Penta spin kicks GW in the gut then enzugiri's him in the head. GW sends Penta into the commentary table. GW goes in, slides out and lariats him. GW then tries to start a New Day Rocks chant.

We go to break and return. GW is kicked in the back of the leg. Penta does a slingblade facebuster and a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Penta enzugiri's him in the corner then pendulum double boots him in the corner for 2.

GW hits Evil's darkness falls for 2. Penta superkicks him and GW superkicks back. Penta pumping knees him and GW jumping knees him. They double clothesline each other.

Penta's throat is pulled down over the top. GW rolls in to take a superkick. Penta spinning canadian destroyers him and wins.

Thoughts: It was an athletic match. They didn't overdo it too much and kept it moving. Waller getting a match on TV is honestly just a positive even if he loses at this point. 

The New Day argue with Penta after. Woods is pushed over Kofi then both are sent out. Penta then puts on Woods' hat after. He throws it then tope con hilos the heels.

Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss talk in the back. Rusev and Sheamus crash into something in front of them and fight as security breaks it up.

Michael Cole said Triple H and Nick Khan told Brock Lesnar a few weeks ago that it was time to come home. They say we will hear John Cena's thoughts on it on Smackdown.

Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss come out to talk. Flair says it feels amazing to be champ again. Bliss says she thinks she means that "we" are champs again. They argue and Bliss says she's stuck with her as long as they are champs. Flair asks how many times she has been champ. She then cuts her off.

Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez come out and interrupt. Raq asks who would wanna be friends with Flair? Perez says no one cares that they want to be friends. She says all that matters is bringing all the gold back to Judgment Day. Raq says they didn't come out here not to take the titles back. Flair agrees and says they will put the title on the line against them right now.

Adam Pearce comes out. He says normally title matches take time to put together. He says tonight's not normal and the match starts now. 

WWE Women's Tag Titles - Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss (c) vs The Judgment Day (Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez)

We join this in progress. Bliss is thrown backwards by RR. RP boots Bliss in the gut then kneels on her on the middle rope. Bliss' head is banged off the buckles then RP's head is.

Bliss flying headscissors RP. Bliss is thrown into Flair. RP clubs on Flair then is lariated. RR shoulders over Flair. They bang each other's heads off the buckles. Flair hits a high kick. Flair 2nd rope diving headscissors her then shoulders her over.

Flair is sent face first into the buckles. Flair is tripped by RR on the apron then is dropicked off the buckles. RP then topes her. Flair's head is banged off the apron and buckles.

Flair clips RR and RP. Flair and Bliss hit stereo headhunter/neck snap moves. Bliss dropkicks RR out. Bliss cannonballs her but is caught then driven gut first into the time keepers rail. RR then facekicks her in the timekeeper's area.

We go to break and return. RR misses a corner charge then Bliss spinning ddt's her. Flair is tagged in and hits a top rope double crossbody. Flair chops RR then forward handspring lariats her. Flair fallway slams RP (she tried to throw on her Raq but doesn't make it). Flair top rope moonsaults both for 2.

RP hits mounted shots on Flair. RP spin kicks her in the gut. Flair flatliners her into the buckles then lariats RR on the apron. RP top rope hurricanrana's Flair. RR corkscrew elbow drops Flair from the buckles for 2.

Flair facekicks RR off the apron. RP sends out Flair. RP goes for a dive and Bliss catches her with the sister abigail ddt and wins.

Thoughts: It got a lot of time but it wasn't that great. It was fine just not much else.

Iyo Sky talks to Asuka and Kairi Sane in the back. Asuka says they can help Iyo but Iyo says no thanks. Rhea Ripley comes in and wants to talk to Iyo. Rhea said she heard Iyo asked for a 1v1 match for the title. Iyo says she wasn't pinned at Summerslam. Rhea tells her to face her as she wants to beat her and win the title back. Iyo says Rhea will never beat her.

Bayley and Lyra look for each other in the back. Lyra says she doesn't care what Bayley did, she can't challenge Becky again for the title. She says she needs to get out of the Bayley vortex. She says they aren't good for each other. She tells her to stay out of her life.

Dominik Mysterio vs Dragon Lee

Dom slaps him. Lee hits punches. Lee lariats him over the top then topes him. Lee hits mounted shots outside. Lee forearms Dom then hits mounted corner punches. Lee chops Dom. Lee's throat is pulled down over the top rope. Dom slingshot swantons him for 2. Dom misses a 619. Lee pumping knees him. Dom ddt's him on the apron and we go to break.

We return from break. Lee back elbows him and superkicks him. Lee hits combinacion cabron in the corner. Lee flying back elbows him. Dom walks up the buckles and tries to do an armdrag but Lee stops it. Lee sitout power bombs him for 2.

Dom is stuck in tree of woe then is top rope double stomped. El Grande Americano gets on the apron. He has words for Lee. Someone else in a mask gets on the apron too. Lee hits both. A 3rd Grande then gets on the apron and enzugiri's Lee. Dom hits Lee with his boot and wins.

Thoughts: The match was alright but nothing too special. Dom got more face pops than Lee did here. The finish was interesting as now have 4 El Grande Americano's running around.

AJ Styles comes out. Dom misses a boot shot on him then AJ misses one too. Dom runs and AJ throws a boot at him, tripping him.

Sami Zayn is interviewed in the back. Sami talks about the match with Kross. He said people in the crowd and both Kross/Scarlett would have liked him to hit Kross with the pipe. He says it would have felt good to hit him. He says he wants to be a world champ and will be one, but he wants to do it right. Sheamus and Rusev then run into him as they fight. Security and Sami try to stop it. Rusev then punches Sami down.

Becky Lynch comes out to talk. She says Lyra will get no more opportunities at the title as long as she is champ. She says it's time to open the floor to new competitors, who understand that they are stepping in the ring with the greatest female wrestler of all time. She says that won't be tonight.

Nikki Bella comes out. She broke her implant recently against Piper Niven but I guess she's fine now. Bella says she's proud of her accomplishments and thought she had so much potential when she met her. She said she knew it was okay to take a step away as the women's division was in such great hands with Becky.

She says Becky turned out to be such a disappointment. She says Becky is supposed to be raising a generation but is handcuffing them. She says this is the best the division has ever been.

She says she's trying to figure out why Becky came back. She asks if Hollywood was not what she thought. She says she was in the hottest film of this summer with Happy Gilmore 2. She says Bella was supposed to be in it too but her role got cut. She said she got her cut.

Bella says she's sick of this and isn't buying it. She says she's a liar like her husband. She says we bought Seth's lies but no one buys her BS. She says she's still the same insecure scared girl.

Becky says her and Seth are the greatest wrestling couple of all time. She says at one point that would have been her and ...oh you can't see him anymore. The crowd pops big for this. 

She says she came up to combat her era. Bella says this isn't Becky's era and Becky was too scared to face her. Bella challenges her to a title match. Bella then does the "yes" finger point. Becky says they never went 1v1 because...and sucker punches her down.

Byron Saxton interviews Naomi. Naomi says she feels great about her win. She said she warned everyone not to be shocked that she would walk out of the show with her belt. She says she will defend her title next week on Raw vs Iyo Sky. Stephanie Vaquer comes in. She says the women's title will belong to her whether it's Naomi or Iyo. Naomi says it'll be hers and says she will shove the horns so far up Vaquer's behind in Paris that she will leave with a limp.

We are told Gunther is out of action indefinitely after getting injured against CM Punk.

Natalya, Dupri and Tozawa go up to Becky. Nat says what Becky did was wrong. Becky says she didn't do anything wrong. Nat says she wants a match 1v1. Becky says challenge accepted, but it's not with Nat, it's with Maxxine Dupri. 

World Heavyweight Title - Seth Rollins (c) vs LA Knight

LA drops him with a punch and hits more in the corner. LA stomps him in the corner and the ref pulls him off. Seth hits punches then stomps him on the ropes. LA lariats him then suplexes him for 2. LA neckbreakers him for 1.

LA hits a corner lariat and is kicked. Seth is back body dropped over the top to the floor. Seth hides behind Paul Heyman outside. LA bangs Seth's head off the commentary table. LA's back is rammed into the apron then he is sent into the rails. LA is dropped gut first on the rails. Seth double stomps him as he hangs off the rails.

We go to break and return. Seth chops LA then LA chops back. LA back body drops him. Seth flatliners him into the 2nd rope. LA jumps up to the top and superplexes Seth for 2. They chop each other.

They trade punches. LA lariats him then russian legsweeps him. LA jumping neckbreakers him for 2. Seth jawbreakers him. LA slams him. Seth gets his knees up on LA's elbow drop. Seth buckle bombs LA. LA hits a burning hammer for 2. 

Seth rolls him up off a BFT. LA then ddt's him. LA double jump elbow drops him. Seth slides out of a BFT. LA dropkicks him through the ropes and sends Seth over the commentary table.

Seth's head is banged off the commentary table then he is thrown over it. Seth sends LA into the post then hits mounted shots outside. Seth pulls up a ring mat outside. LA is sent into the post. Seth tells LA he will never walk again and says LA wanted to hurt him. Seth tries to curb stomp him into the floor but CM Punk comes out and hits Seth for the DQ.

Thoughts: I had a feeling screwy finish somehow and this was the way they went. They were actually having a pretty good match prior to the finish. They kept up a good pace and Seth matched up well with LA. I didn't like the burning hammer being meaningless here though.

Punk beats up Seth on the floor and in the ring. LA pulls Punk off of him and asks what he wants. Bron Breakker runs out and spears Punk. Bronson Reed nails LA from behind. Reed elbow drops LA in the ring. LA is held for a Bron spear. Seth curbstomps LA in the ring. Punk is then curbstomped.

The heels pose in the aisle then Roman Reigns comes out. Roman superman punches Reed and hits shots on Bron. Reed is sent into the steps. Roman stares down Seth. Roman walks towards him in the ring and Seth slides out. Bron tries to spear Roman but gets hit and taken down. Roman then takes down Reed and hits him. Seth then curbstomps Roman. Roman is then double teamed. Roman is then held for a Bron spear. Reed top rope splashes Roman three times. Seth holds his title belt up at Pearce. Reed steals Roman's shoes again.

Overall thoughts: It was a good Raw. Sheamus/Rusev was similar to their other matches and was fine. Xavier Woods wore a silly hat and Penta/Waller was athletic. The Women's Tag match was fine but not as good as they had hoped. Lee/Dom was alright and Dom was more over as a face here than Lee was. Nikki Bella and Becky Lynch had a good talking segment. The main was pretty good too prior to the finish. I'd give this one a 7 out of 10 as we had good wrestling, we got some things built for the future and we had good outside of the ring stuff.
