Shoma Kato & YOSHI-HASHI vs. Katsuya Murashima & Shota Umino

KM and Kato amateur wrestle. KM shoulders him over. Kato drops down then armdrags him. Kato then shoulders him over. Kato slams him for 2. Yoshi chops KM then slams him for 2. Yoshi chinlocks KM then side headlocks him.

Yoshi chops him in the corner then KM shoulders him over. Shota tags in. He hits forearms and chops on Yoshi. Shota corner euros him and fisherman suplexes him for 2. Yoshi headhunters him then hits a corner lariat. Shota enzugiri's him then is lariated over.

Kato gets in. Kato runs into Shota's boots. Kato back body drops him and Shota almost goes head first down. Shota slams Kato for 2. Shota is double teamed and takes a superkick then a suplex. KM rolls up Shota for 2. Shota hits a hard lariat on KM and pins him.

Thoughts: It was short and not too much of note here. Shota hit a nice lariat at the end. It didn't have the time to be anything too special.

BULLET CLUB War Dogs (Drilla Moloney & Taiji Ishimori) vs. The Don Callis Family (Konosuke Takeshita & Rocky Romero)

DM = Drilla Moloney

DM and KT shoulder battle to start. DM knees him in the gut the is hit by RR on the apron. DM and KT shove each other then both are tripped and pulled out. RR hits DM outside and TI boots KT in the knee.

DM stomps on KT then facekicks him. TI hits punches on KT. KT throws TI then facekicks him. RR forearms TI then dropkicks his knee in the corner. RR elbows TI's arm and armbreakers it. KT forearms TI.

RR corner lariats TI twice then TI does a shoulderbreaker. KT and DM trade forearms. DM jumping knees KT. KT blocks his spear then DM superkicks him. DM suplexes him.

TI and RR trade. TI handspring corkscrew kicks him. RR euros him out of the corner then 2nd rope tornado ddt's him for 2. RR spin kicks TI in the gut. RR lariats TI with help from KT then RR falcon arrows TI into an armbar. DM breaks it up.

KT throws out DM then sends him into the rails. KT running facekicks DM. RR hits kicks to TI's arm then TI jumping knees him. TI la mistica's him into a border city stretch and wins.

Thoughts: It was another shorter one here and wasn't that special. DM and KT should be a good one.

DM beats up KT in the crowd after. DM is sent into a rollaway door.

El Phantasmo & Jado vs. Daiki Nagai & Shingo Takagi

Nagai shoves Gede pre-match. Gedo and Nagai lock up to start. Nagai chopes him on the ropes. Nagai hits forearms then Gedo shoulders him over. Gedo forearms him in the spine then bangs his head off the buckles.

ELP grounds Nagai and cranks his head. Nagai misses a dropkick. ELP misses an asai moonsault then Nagai dropkicks him. Shingo gets in and knocks over his opponents. Shingo corner lariats ELP then hits a punch combo. Shingo suplexes him for 2.

Shingo goes to do his taunt but ELP hits him then does it himself. Shingo back body drops him. They trade and ELP enzugiri's him. Shingo then sliding lariats him.

ELP takes corner attacks then Nagai spinebusters him for 2. Nagai is double teamed then ELP running lariats him for 2. ELP ufo neckbreakers Nagai and picks up the pin.

Thoughts: It was another one here and it wasn't much of note. Nagai took most of the beating here and they hyped up Shingo/ELP a bit here for tomorrow. 

United Empire (Great-O-Khan & Jakob Austin Young) vs. TMDK (Hartley Jackson & Zack Sabre Jr.)

Khan calls for Zack to fight him. Khan grabs him by the ear and side headlocks him. Khan shoulders him over. Khan trips Zack then fireman's carry slams him. Khan hits a knee to the gut and monkey flips him. Khan then hip throws him for 2.

Khan sits on Zack's neck in the corner. Zack then trips him into a leglock. Zack hits euros then pele kicks the arm. Zack legsweeps him. Khan pump kicks him, Zack chest kicks him and Khan pump kicks him again. Zack sleepers him off a claw slam attempt. Khan isses a corner charge and Zack tornado ddt's him.

Hart corner splashes Khan, lariats him then misses a senton. Jake dropkicks Hart then chops him. Jake boots him out of the corner. Hart misses a splash and is enzugiri'd. Jake 2nd rope dropkicks him for 2.

Hart takes corner attacks. Khan shoulder throws Hart then Jake shining wizards Hart for 2. Khan and Zack trade euros. Zack's cobra twist attempt is blocked and Khan karelin's lifts him.

Jake pumping knees Hart. Jake enzugiri's him then Hart crossbodies him. Hart sentons him for 2. Hart death valley drivers him and wins. 

Thoughts: I liked the Khan/Zack segments more than I thought I would but it was another throwaway to hype up tomorrow's matches.

G1 Climax 2025 Block A Match - SANADA vs. Callum Newman

Sanada wore a glittery suit to the ring. San knocks CN off the apron as he enters. CN boots him off the apron then basically 450's him over the top rope. San kicks the middle rope into CN's crotch then he sends him into the rail. CN's head is banged off the seats then San hits him with a drink. San hits CN and he falls into Milano Collection AT. San then throws CN into Milano.

San russian legsweeps CN in the ring. CN hits forearms and is dropkicked in the knee. CN cartwheels out of a knee dropkick and dropkicks San in a cool spot. CN enzugiri's him in the corner then PK's him for 2. CN misses a standing SSP then he running facekicks San.

CN misses a top rope double stomp. San dropkicks him in the knee. San misses a top rope moonsault. CN superkicks him and spinning forearms him. CN goes for the os cutter but San pushes the ref in the way.

CN superkicks him after ducking a guitar shot. San grabs a skull end and CN cradles him but the ref is down. San shining wizard's CN from behind while he checks on the ef. CN lariats San then fisherman busters him for 2. 

CN knees him in the face. San boots him out of the corner and asai moonsaults into skull end. CN armdrags him. San pushes CN into the ref then has his low blow blocked. CN pumping knees him twice. CN underhook suplexes him and wins.

Thoughts: We got a little more out of Sanada than usual which was nice as he actually wrestled a bit and flipped around. But, we also had the usual shenanigans with the ref which held it down. It was average.

G1 Climax 2025 Block A Match - EVIL vs. Ryohei Oiwa

Oiwa rolls him up to start twice in a row. Oiwa backrolls him for 2. Oiwa hits a dropkick then headflips up. Oiwa armdrags him. Oiwa pulls on the arm then Evil rakes his eye with his foot. Oiwa armdrags him again.

Evil sends Oiwa into the exposed buckle. Evil sends him out then throws him int othe rails, knocking the ring announcer over. Evil chokes Oiwa with a mic and shoves it into his face. Evil rakes him with his foot inside and throws him out. Togo and Fale send Oiwa into the rails. Fale and Togo then walk on Oiwa's back. 

Evil fisherman suplexes Oiwa for 2. Oiwa ddt's Evil. Oiwa shoulders Evil over, slams him and sentons him for 2. Oiwa then splashes him for 2. Evil throws the ref in Oiwa's way. Togo chairs Oiwa from the outside. Fale thne slams Oiwa on the floor. Evil chinlcoks Oiwa then spinning lariats him.

Evil is pushed into the exposed buckle. Togo comes on the apron and is crotched on top by Oiwa. Oiwa dropkicks Fale off the apron. Hartley Jackson then comes out to help Oiwa. He takes Fale away. Oiwa bangs Evil's head off the buckles and sends him into the post shoulder first. He then backdrops him. Oiwa top rope splashes Evil for 2.

Oiwa chinlocks Evil. Oiwa germans Evil then backrolls him into a german for 2.  Oiwa has salt thrown into his eyes. Evil then lariats Oiwa for 2. Evil sharpshooters Oiwa and submits him.

Thoughts: Oiwa tried but it the usual Evil match with tons of House of Torture interference. It wasn't any more entertaining than it was the first 500 times we saw it. 

G1 Climax 2025 Block A Match - David Finlay vs. Oleg Boltin

They lock up and DF is pushed backwards. DF side headlocks him. Oleg shoulders him over. DF slides out. Oleg beats up on DF outside and throws him in. Oleg clubs on DF outside then chops him. DF pulls Oleg's throat down over the top rope. DF spears him in the gut off the apron and Oleg goes into the rails. DF foot chokes him outside.

DF then rams into Oleg, sending him through the gate on the rails. DF pulls Oleg's nose inside then elbows him in the face. Oleg forearms him. Oleg misses a dropkick and DF gets a 2 count on him.

DF hits mounted punches. They trade shots and Oleg lariats him over the top, going with him. DF is sent into the rails. Oleg chops him then does a nice throw on a belly to belly. Oleg corner splashes him then hits karelin's lift.

DF hits a uranage backbreaker then hits oblivion for 2. DF rolls him up for 2. They forearm each other. Oleg pop-up finlay rolls him for 2. DF powerbombs him for 2. Oleg germans him twice for 2. Oleg then hits an F-5. DF rolls him up from the side and pins him.

Thoughts: DF couldn't throw Oleg around here and out-muscle him which was good. The two did alright together but it was just average or maybe slightly above it. The finish might have worked better if DF was a face instead of a heel. 

G1 Climax 2025 Block A Match - Taichi vs. Yota Tsuji

They lock up. Yota side hedlocks him then flying headscissors him. Yota topes him outside. Tai is sent into the rail. Yota then hits forearms on him in the crowd. Tai hits chops back.

They get back in and Yota stomps him. Yota then baseball slides him out. Yota bodyscissors him. Tai hits chops and leg kicks. Yota hits a hard chop then Tai running lariats him.

Tai kicks him in the back and chest. Yota misses a corner splash and is enzugiri'd. Tai takes his pants off. Yota superkicks him then hits a flatliner into a curbstomp. They facekick each other. Tai spinning chops him then gamengiri's him. Yota blocks a buzzsaw kick then he headbutts him in the chest. Yota then buzzsaw kicks him.

Yota running sitout powerbombs him for 2. Yota running lariats him. Yota misses a spear then Tai rolls him up for 2. Tai hits a big forearm. Tai curbstomps Yota. Yota hits a falcon arrow for 2. Yota curbstomps him.

Yota runs into Tai's forearm. Tai backdrops him for 2. Tai hits a big lariat on Yota for 2. Yota hits a big spear. Yota pumping knees him then pumping knees him in the corner for 2. Yota goes for a marlow crash and is superkicked in mid-air. Tai backdrops him for 2. Tai hits an air raid crash and wins.

Thoughts: They tried to have a classic. They were a little heavy on the big moves here but the first half wasn't that good with the outside brawling killing the momentum like usual. It was stiff. I did like it but it wasn't great.

G1 Climax 2025 Block A Match - Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Yuya Uemura

Yuya rolls out of a wristlock and side headlock takeovers Tana. Tana headscissors him and they stand off. Yuya wristlocks him and takes him down with it. Yuya armdrags him. Tana hammerlocks him and ends up rolling into the ropes, causing a break.

Yuya chops him in the corner. Tana 2nd rope twisting crossbodies him. Tana dropkicks him in the knee. Tana wraps Yuya's leg around the 2nd rope then dropkicks him in the knee.

Tana locks up the leg then pulls on it. Tana boots him in the knee. Yuya then does Tana's 2nd rope twisting crossbody. Yuya back elbows him then armdrags and dropkicks him. 

Yuya backdrops him then kimura's him. Tana ropebreaks. Yyua full nelson's him and is sent to the apron. Tana dragon screws him over the 2nd rope. Tana dragon screws him while he's down. Tana then texas cloverleafs him.

Tana boots him in the knee then Yuya single arm ddt's him. Yuya armdrags him into an armlock. Tana ropebreaks. Tana dropkicks him in the knee. Yuya hits a front suplex but his knee gives out on the bridge.

Tana straightjacket suplexes him. Yuya germans him. Yuya fires up and gets a slingblade from behind. Tana then hits a normal slingblade for 2. Tana hits a top rope crossbody. Tana then misses a top rope high fly flow. Yuya goes up top and hits Tana's high fly flow for 2.

Yuya misses a top rope crossbody. They trade forearms on their knees then get up and trade. Yuya double chops and is euro'd. Yuya hits more chops. Tana dropkicks him in the knee. Yuya blocks a dragon screw and gets a 2 count. Yuya frankensteiners him and armbars him. Tana dragon suplexes him for 2.

Yuya headbutts him and they slap each other at the same time. Yuya enzugiri's him then hits a front suplex. Yuya then picks up the win.

Thoughts: It was a good match and maybe the best match of the G-1 so far. Tana worked the knee and Yuya worked the arm to lead up to his front suplex. They stole each other's moves, did the same moves at the same time and general went even before the finish. Tana's really having a great run so far in this G1.

Overall thoughts: As usual, nothing of note really happened in the undercard. Sanada wrestled a bit more than usual against Newman but it was still only average. Evil did his usual nonsense vs Oiwa and ruined the match. DF couldn't throw around Oleg and that made the match a bit more watchable than it would have vs others. Taichi/Yota was a good attempt at a strong match but the first half wasn't as good as the second. The main was very good and maybe the best match of the G-1 so far with Tana and Yuya being mirror images of each other. I'd recommend seeing the top two matches and skipping the rest. I'd still struggle to give this more than a 5 out of 10 though as the show overall was weak minus the top 2 matches.
